La Mère Léa

"A new start for La Mère Léa, a true local institution, which has expanded on a quayside location and now enjoys more space and a beautiful view of the Fourvière and St-Jean quarters. Lyon specialities still feature prominently, with two good value-for-money set menus and a well-crafted à la carte menu." - Michelin Inspector

A wonderful meal. Brilliant in its simplicity and good taste. Made—and served—with love. The prix fix included frisée salad, baked chicken, and pear tart. Correct and delicious.

Tried this place two weeks ago, the food was great, the wine was good too, and the servers were very friendly and nice. We reserved our place in advance so I would recommend doing so too.

While the atmosphere was a bit Stark, the service was excellent and the food was out of this world. We had about a 30-person party so there were some hiccups in service, but that was completely to be expected. Every single dish they delivered was phenomenal.

Our three generation family so enjoyed the exquisite food at this lovely restaurant. The food was elegantly presented and so delicious! There was incredible mouthfeel in the sauces, the meats were perfect, even the humble mashed potatoes were elevated into something magical. The wine, apps and mains were gorgeous! Well done! And the service was genuinely friendly and knowledgeable.

In one day we’ve seen 2 faces of the gastronomic landscape of Lyon. We had lunch in mediocre place in terms of quality and high ambitions in terms of prices. The dinner was at Lea’s restaurant- exactly opposite of our lunch experience. Amazing food, excellent service and superb value for money. Every part of such dinning experience was on different level. I won’t be surprised if soon they get Michelin star! For now they have 6 stars from me. Hope to be back here sooner than later!

We Werner super happy with the Service. One guy was really nice and made us feel Home but the rest of the staff was pretty cold. Menu traditional yes but with the aim of being at Michelin level. I was a little upset tbh

Excellent food and overall experience. A great discovery, highly recommended and I will certainly be eating there again. After a last minute change of plans we went there without a reservation and were lucky to get a table for three, it filled up quickly just after we arrived. Very welcoming staff, nice relaxed atmosphere in the dining room and a reasonably priced menu for the location. Everything we ate was delicious. The modern take on a Salade Lyonnaise and the asparagus with a hazelnut mousseline were first rate starters. For the mains - my rabbit dish was perfectly cooked, the meat fell off the bone but was nicely firm and very tasty, the vegetables a perfect complement. My companions greatly enjoyed a chicken supreme and the quenelle. Not having had a hand in choosing the wine I can't comment on the wine list but the Pinot Noir we drank was very good. The Chou Tout Chocolat I chose for desert was hilariously big and delightfully chocolaty.

Let me start by saying that I didn't pay 😜 We were a big group so we had a seperate room for ourselves. The service was really good. We were a diverse group of people, the serveuse took her time to explain not only the food but also gave some history lessons. The food was awesome to say the least. My favorite was the dessert - parfait glacé à la chartreuse.
