La Mesa

Hands down the best meal we had in Chile and really decent value. Highly recommend the sea urchin pasta - pasta was freshly made. Despite us not speaking Spanish, service was really friendly and warm. We would have returned had it not been our last day in Santiago!

AMAZING. One of the best dining experiences of my life. Jose, our sommelier, was incredible. Thank you Jose! Cannot recommend this place enough. Sat outside and the music and atmosphere was impeccable. 5 stars.

It’s very unfortunate that we have to write this review. We went to La Mesa this evening for a dinner celebration (being sold with the sustainability concept by the restaurant), oblivious with the more recent reviews. While the outdoor garden ambience is pleasant and the service warm, the food are below standard at its best. We ordered 3 entree - the oysters, the ceviche and the grilled octopus. All 3 were underwhelming and it’s beyond our comprehension that the simple dishes could be executed so poorly. The presentation, texture and taste profiles were all so out of balance. Giving it another chance with some naivety (as it is also recommended in the worlds50best) we ordered a seafood risotto and seafood pasta as our main. Both dishes were, once again, left a lot to be desired. Overly salty, unnecessarily overpowering sauce, overcooked pasta and risotto that left unpleasant tastes in the mouth. I was in constant denial we could have such a bad meal in La Mesa but this could possibly be the worst meal I have in a very long time across all restaurants categories, globally. Even if the meal is of 1/3 of the price, we unfortunately cannot recommend anyone to come here. We left with tremendous sadness and puzzlement. Perhaps it was good once but no longer the case presently. The kitchen really requires a lot of improvement to catch up with the culinary game. The cocktails were done well though - the only solace to such a regrettable dinner.

Excellent service, great decor. Good food. Very beautiful setting, beautifully presented food. I would say my dishes (vegetable tartare and the fish of the day ) can be less salty. Esp the vegetable tartare which was excellent but i find the salt was over-powering. The Patagonia lamb and the side salad was excellent however. It was not bad fine dining at all for the price we paid.

Just exquisite. Delicious food, excellent wine list, beautiful ambiance, great service. Everything I want in a restaurant.

What a restaurant! 😱 Amazing restaurant! Great Atmosphere! Lovely Staff! And the food is incredible! I have ordered the Meat with Wine Sauce and was the most amazing of I have eaten on Chile! 5 of 5!!!

Not worth the hype at all. Service was basically non existent. Food was subpar. We asked for water multiple times which we never received. Food too way too long. Servers seemed like they were confused where anything was going.

The food was really good, and the service was impeccable. Really loved the bread, braised cabbage, sea urchin pasta and fries ❤️
