La Mesa

Excellent place, we had great food and cocktails here. Our server Rodrigo was a great host. We sat outside at the rear near the bar which was a good atmosphere. In particular the crab main course was really good and also the ceviche starter. The pistache dessert didn't really taste like pistache, more like white chocolate but it was still decent.

We had an excellent experience at La Mesa! I found the place on a food blog, and was a little worried that it didn’t have a ton of reviews on Google maps, but I’m glad I decided to try it out. La Mesa has an ethos of fresh, eco-conscious food and a cool, relaxed atmosphere. The drinks were strong and the food was very good and inventive! I’m a vegetarian, and had no problem finding good options here. The staff was very friendly, and our waiter Rodrigo went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. I would absolutely recommend La Mesa when you’re in Santiago!

Incredibly delicious food. The ceviche and salmon appetizers were delightful, as was the seafood pasta. The pistachio dessert was the most amazing combination of flavors. Our server, Rodrigo, was fantastic. Oh and the ambiance of the patio seating was unbeatable. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Best ceviche I have ever had, and I eat a lot of ceviche. Rodrigo (waiter) was nothing short of spectacular — a true master of his art. ALL the food was superb. The crab casserole is haunting me with its taste. And try the Casa Morin Sauvignon Blanc. When we come back to Chile we will come back here. Must try. 10/10 recommend.

Found this restaurant on a ‘50Best’ list and can easily see why it’s on the list. Loved the casual yet upscale vibe. All the staff were so kind and welcoming. Cristobal was so patient in explaining options to us - we went with his recommendations and were not disappointed! Excellent wine list, nice variety of food options. Rodrigo took great care of us with additional recommendations regarding dessert. We are coming back!!

Excellent food. Everything we ordered was perfect. The restaurant is beautiful, the wine our server suggested was excellent, and I'll never forget how good the octopus was.

Fantastic dinner at La Mesa. Amazing pisco sours, oysters, the ceviche was one of the best I’ve had and the octopus was incredible. Also got the catch of the day with mashed potatoes that I’ll be thinking about for a long time, plus the seafood risotto. Everything was perfect. Coupled with great wine and service!

Having just arrived in Santiago, we were looking for a place to eat some local food, and and also to try a selection of Chilean wines. I think we found the perfect spot! Not being competent Spanish speakers we were delighted to note that every member of team was able to speak very good English. We started in Masal, the wine bar and were quickly installed on the comfortable patio and served wines by the glass - each one commented and described really well. When the time came to eat, we moved inside to sit near the open kitchen - here we were able to watch the brigade prepare some truly delicious dishes - oysters, ceviche, even a wonderful smoked onion tartare (great recommendation from the very helpful Rodrigo). Main courses of deer (venison), sea bass and seafood risotto were perfect - and the sommelier paired them with a couple of perfect Chardonnay wines. The ethos of sustainability and local sourcing is evident, but not pushed too hard - the whole team took care to ensure we had a truly wonderful evening. Delighted with our choice, I can certainly recommend this for either the wine or the food experience - and in my view, for both!
