La Mesa

We had an excellent experience at La Mesa! I found the place on a food blog, and was a little worried that it didn’t have a ton of reviews on Google maps, but I’m glad I decided to try it out. La Mesa has an ethos of fresh, eco-conscious food and a cool, relaxed atmosphere. The drinks were strong and the food was very good and inventive! I’m a vegetarian, and had no problem finding good options here. The staff was very friendly, and our waiter Rodrigo went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. I would absolutely recommend La Mesa when you’re in Santiago!

Best ceviche I have ever had, and I eat a lot of ceviche. Rodrigo (waiter) was nothing short of spectacular — a true master of his art. ALL the food was superb. The crab casserole is haunting me with its taste. And try the Casa Morin Sauvignon Blanc. When we come back to Chile we will come back here. Must try. 10/10 recommend.

Found this restaurant on a ‘50Best’ list and can easily see why it’s on the list. Loved the casual yet upscale vibe. All the staff were so kind and welcoming. Cristobal was so patient in explaining options to us - we went with his recommendations and were not disappointed! Excellent wine list, nice variety of food options. Rodrigo took great care of us with additional recommendations regarding dessert. We are coming back!!

Cristobal , Rodrigo and Liv were just superb!!! The whole experience was BEST EVER FOOD AMD WINE SELECTION WERE JUST IN POINT … and trust me I travel weekly… in coming back on Monday for my birthday experience… thank you “LA MESA “ for making us feel so special 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Fantastic dinner at La Mesa. Amazing pisco sours, oysters, the ceviche was one of the best I’ve had and the octopus was incredible. Also got the catch of the day with mashed potatoes that I’ll be thinking about for a long time, plus the seafood risotto. Everything was perfect. Coupled with great wine and service!

Excellent food. Everything we ordered was perfect. The restaurant is beautiful, the wine our server suggested was excellent, and I'll never forget how good the octopus was.

We spent $200 on some of the worst food and service I’ve had in 3 weeks in Chile. Amazed this place exists. Hostess was nice. Once seated we realized someone was smoking so we asked if we could move, because my fiancé has severe asthma. We did not make a fuss since we knew this was the norm here…The young male server with short curly hair and earrings overheard (not our server) and came to tell us that we’re in Chile and that we should deal with it and laughed at us….weird..but shook it off. The English translation menu is completely wrong…the grilled scallops are called oysters with peanut butter. Sebastian the sommelier was very friendly and laughed it off with us. The food was ok if im being generous. The steak was fully burnt and unseasoned but medium rare. The rissoto was hardly cooked and chewy. I’d suggest getting rid of the English menu if you don’t want English speakers here. Hire decent service and cooks if you want to charge these prices. Sebastion and unnamed kind hostess were the only decent things about the place. I’d rather eat gas station empanadas than go back.

The chef has developed a series of dishes that are an exquisite mix of texture, smells, and tastes. Alvaro, I understood, has done an outstanding job with his offer. They have a knowledgeable sommelier, but I guess that is to be expected in Chile. We got well advised on what to drink. Definitely recommended, be ready to pay high prices (very high but deserved)
