Good food, and friendly service. I highly recommend the gorditas, potato tacos, and Chile Colorado. The owner is really sweet, and always eager to fix any issues with orders. Their tamales are also great. I drive from a few towns away, to enjoy their food.

The best place to come for quality meats. We always get the asada arranchera it is pricey but the flavor of the marinade and tenderness of the meat are some of the best around. Their prepared food is amazing too! I personally love their Chile Verde can't go wrong with it in a burrito or on some tacos and they find a nice balance of price and portion.

The food is pretty good. Spices are good, a little under seasoned at times. Over the last few years, it seems their burrito has gotten smaller just by a little. The market has a pretty good selection, was hoping for a larger variety of chili's that the grocery store down the street doesn't have. The staff has always been friendly and helpful.

Love the food, love the staff. Can get harder to find things like achiote mix and piloncillos. Deli is tasty. People are friendly. Our favorite place to grab a quick burrito to go. Years have gone by and this place is still five-star awesome.

This is a great Mexican grocery and meat market. The store is literally packed with everything you would want if you're craving good Mexican food. The front and middle of the store boasts all of the grocery items, including piñatas hanging from the ceiling for purchase. The rear of the store is their fresh meat market and behind the register are hot plate items you can order and take to go. The staff are always very nice and helpful. My experience here is specific to ordering hot food items. I highly recommend their chicken, which has to be some of the best tasting I have had from a business. The business is reasonably priced. I can order 32 ounces of chicken, 16 ounces of rice and beans for about $38. All of that is plenty to feed four people. If you are craving good Mexican food that is reasonably priced, you can't go wrong visiting La Mexicana dr Ripon.

WOW FACTOR? Yes. Nice Mexican grocery, meat market and take-out restaurant. Excellent and friendly service. HAVE AGAIN: The al pastor taco was really good. Guacamole was a bit spicy but actually just right (odd it had two avocado pits inside the guac. Super burrito with carnitas was also good (definitely needed the guac). NOT HAVE AGAIN: The potato taco was good, but I'd try something else next time.

Very disappointed. Have not been here in a few years until now. The price to food quality and quantity does not work. Ordered one regular burrito and four tacos. The burrito was definitely on the small side and the tacos were like children size tortillas for over $28.00. Asada was very salty and the chicken was seasoned fine.

We just had a huge carnitas super burrito. It was outrageously excellent. As always, perfect. It's big enough to share. We order medium heat. Terrific. We also had 6 grilled chicken tacos which we will eat later for dinner. We order medium heat. Delicious. Our grandchildren love Theresa's Mexican rice. It's their favorite. Theresa is typically at the counter when we pick up. She's a wonderful person. In the 10 plus years we've been eating food from La Mexicana de Ripon, it's always been great. There is no ambiance because it's a mexican deli and grocery store combo There is no seating. We love this place.

First time here Paid $40 for two small burritos, and three potato tacos. Burrito was made incorrectly not as told. Requested side items also and got completely nothing.

Tacos and burritos are the best in town!! We frequent them. Mexican bread is from Jessica's and is delicious when you get the day of delivery or next day. Always gone.

Great food counter in a little market. The food was very authentic and flavorful. Customer service was very helpful and friendly. Very busy and not much of a wait time. Definitely recommend if in the area.

I love this little market!! Family owned and ran . And the family that runs it are super nice!! Business is very clean and well stocked!! I love to buy my meats here for my BBQ. I picked up last night some asada and chicken for tacos. I love how they marinate their asada. It's like this place in the bay I used to get my asada from. With beer & orange juice . Love!! They have a hot food counter where you can order food. I bought a tamale to try and they gave me 2. Very nice of the lady. It was a pork and chicken tamale. Was good . I'd like to come back and try their beef tamales . My tacos turned out awesome.

I've been at La Mexicana de Ripon many times. Love this place. They are super friendly and have an amazing selection of meats and traditional Mexican grocery items. The kitchen has awesome dishes. The potato tacos and the carnitas tortas are superb. It's an experience, give them a try!

Worst burrito I ever had for real, basically I ordered a asada burrito and I got a beans and rice burrito and it was so small another thing is I hope you speak Spanish because they will judge you for not knowing it. These reviews got to be fake it was so disappointing

The Super Quesadilla is my favorite. I also like to purchase meat from the market to make my own dishes at a later time. Been going here for years!

Love this place It's a small private own store with great food and great customer service. I have used them for catering as well and never had any issues.

I love this place. It's just so reliable and fairly priced. You can tell it's run with love. Everyone who works there is helpful and patient. I've gone in and it's been so busy, but they are still so pleasant and helpful. Whatever I have ordered (and we've ordered everything from the potato tacos to combo plates to burritos) has been great. It all tastes homemade. It is our go to when work goes overtime and I still gotta get the family dinner. We've also had them cater for us and everything came out seamlessly and delicious. Even my picky two year old loves the carne asada and rice. Highly recommend.

Authentic taqueria. My family and I have had several items off the menu and we have loved them all. The food taste great and the salsa bar is always fresh. I can't speak for the rice (not a fan of most rice) but everything else has a full flavor. The portions are big. You won't leave hungry. it has gotten a little pricy, but everything has. The restaurant is clean and there is a ton of room. Great Mexican food. Fam favorite, we recommend!

If you want the best burrito in town this place is perfect. The chicharrons are what the TikTok trend had going with Guacamole dip you can't go wrong. The service is always good and reliable. When you are there it's like a Mexican market so you can buy extra stuff for your lunch.

I did a tour of the super burritos on Main Street in Ripon this week while visiting from Texas. 5/17/22 Taqueria Ripon was $14 and was the smallest of the 4 I tried. The taste was fine but nothing impressive. I'd give it a pass. NOT RECOMMEND ** 5/18/22 La Casuela Mexican Restaurant was $12.50. It was huge and tasted great. The cheese wasn't fully melted. So, I liked it better once I warmed it up but the flavor and size were great for the price. It had more Avacodo than what I normally see in a super burrito but mostly delivered the expected super burrito experience. RECOMMENDED but may need warming. Also try La Mexicana De Ripon to see which flavor you prefer (see below). **** 5/19/22 LA Mexicana De Ripon This burrito was a bit smaller than the normal super burrito but was cheaper at $8.50 and had a fantastic flavor. It seemed to have a different seasoning or salsa that made the taste more unique. It was really great though. Side benefit - the lady that took my order was very friendly. RECOMMENDED but no need to share it. ***** 5/20/22 Ede's Taco Shop this burrito was huge (as expected for a super burrito) and costed $12.50. The staff was super nice. the flavor wasn't quite as impressive as La Mexicana De Ripon but was still quite enjoyable. Side note: my daughter had the kids meal here on 5/18 with a bean and cheese burrito and fries. i had a bite of both and they were phenomenal. The fries were among the best I've had. I didn't expect that from a Mexican place. RECOMMENDED but also try La Mexicana De Ripon to see which flavor you prefer. ****

First time here- Ordered beef enchiladas and got chicken enchiladas. The beef pieces on top with the red sauce- so I assumed they were beef enchiladas. Nope. Chicken inside and pieces of beef on the outside. Is there a name for that?

If you want delicious fresh delicious Mexican food give this place a try. They have an impressive selection to choose from . I went in wanting a burrito supreme . I followed the Yelp reviews and glad I did. This market is impeccable with neatly stacked shelves full of interesting good products from tortilla chips to canned goods The meat counter was stocked with plenty to choose from. The shortbread cookies really are delicious as the reviews said. The food is so good and fresh and reasonably priced I will be going back. Give this place a try you won't regret it. Bon appétit

Living in the valley I've had a lot of Mexican food but none compare to the burritos at this little meat market. I always get the carne asada super burrito with hot sauce and it is unlike any burrito I've ever had. I don't even live in Ripon but I drive there from Modesto to get my fix.

This is my go to Mexican food when I'm at work. Awesome food and friendly staff. I enjoy their burrito. I usually order half carne asada and half chicharon aith a side of serrano pepper. Its on point. Their combination plate is good too. The menu is price very well. If you want a good burrito, come check them out. 5 STARS.

Today was my first visit to the market. I was impressed with the items that they have their shelves stocked with. I had already had dinner but thought maybe I could buy something for tomorrow. I noticed their menu had tamales. They didn't have pork so I ordered 6 chicken & 6 beef. I should have just ordered one of each and I wouldn't have felt bad about not consuming the other 4. I don't know how long the tamales had been sitting in the chaffing dish but they were not moist, flavourful, or steaming with aroma. Maybe it was late in the day? Maybe I should arrive in the morning when their fresh out of the pot? I would recommend having the tamales wrapped in plastic to keep them from drying out. I'll try again

Hidden in the corner of La Mexicana de Ripon is a little taco-making gem!!!! I came here for a small snack to tie myself over 'til dinner. And what's the perfect snack? Well tacos of course!! It was a quick in and out. I got two beef tacos which came to shocking $4.50!!!! I don't know where else you can get two tacos and pay such a low price. It's honestly a steal! AND they were so good! Great flavours, great spice level and the beef was actually tender (not chewy like some places)! Outside there were two round stainless steel tables to eat at. This was very convenient as it was a beautiful night. I enjoyed my tacos there and was back on the road within 15 minutes. This is a place you have to experience for yourself. Truly a hole in the wall. But a beautiful hole at that!

Very great food! I highly recommend This market. Plus they sale chorizo, chicken, beef and many other quality items! You will not be disappointed! You can call ahead and order trays of enchiladas, tamales and many delicious Mexican food. Just call a few days ahead!

All day! Every day! Tacos Burritos. I'll drive the distance for Ripon's meat market Ps- if I had 24 hours to live- I would order a breakfast burrito to start the day.

Try their huge breakfast burrito( eggs,potatoes, chorizo, jalapeños and salsa) and hope you're really hungry! We'll often order the 16 oz. sized carnitas con chile, rice and beans to go and eat 2-3 full meals from it! God bless Theresa and her wonderful staff. Their butcher section is top notch too!

Nothing spectacular about this place. I came in because of the reviews and wished I had done fast food instead. There was no one in the kitchen the people at the front didn't ask if there was something they could help me with and it took for me to have to find them for them to take my order. I got the veggie burrito and the rice was very bland with no flavor. The veggies didn't seem to be too fresh as everything was precut.

Love it here all their food is great. My highlight is the chile relleno and the gorditas de chicharrón they never fail.

i'm a socal girl so i know and love good mexican food and yes this little meat market HITS THE SPOT. lucky grant for growing up with this spot! super friendly staff and oh so delicious food!!!! Grant says this is the best mexican food north of san diego and he might just be right!! Meats are seasoned to perfection, their homemade salsas are AMAZING, the tacos and burritos have the perfect blend of ingredients and are formulated with palpable expertise. staff is friendly and CRANK out food. The kitchen is located at the back of a cute little mexican market, but this small town burrito shop is seriously to die for!!

Called to place an order for tamales for the 24th and was told I could order but said I wanted to confirm with my family on the meat selection and was told to call before 8. It took me less than hour to call back and they refused to place the order. Also , I speak and understand Spanish and overheard one of the employees say my mom said we were taking the orders until today and then the lady placed me I hold and came back said no. Poor communication between the employees.

If you want authentic, this is where you need to go. Everything is hand made and everything is delicious. I go here every chance i get. The combo plates and tamales are all delicious and low priced.

While I love most Mexican food, there is something special about this place. I have been going here for the past 12 years off and on, and it's always good. The food is always fresh and very affordable too! Highly recommended! Definitely a pick up food kind of place though. Not a sit down restaurant!)

There is nothing bad on this menu. I really love the fajitas in their butcher section too. Takes just a few minutes to cook and everyone acts like I slaved away on dinner. Major score

Be careful with the weights of your items and overpricing. My poor husband went to purchase supplies for tamales. We only used half, and I decided to return unused, unopened items, as I saw they were I credibly overpriced. The tamal corn husks were $7 for one pound! The clerk proceeded to weigh the package and asked if I had used any, because the package only weighed 1/2 a pound exactly. I didn't of course, and I was extra upset that now we had paid $7 for only half a pound. So they only refunded $4 for that, and she said it was so expensive because it was a "better" quality husk. Just be careful with weights and measures of your items to be purchased here.

Hands down the BEST Mexican food I have ever had! Always great, and most of the time exceptional. And of course, very affordable. The family that owns it is very nice, and everyone in town loves it! Try the Breakfast Burrito and the Super Burrito, the BEST!

This is like a mini carneceria with a tiny taqueria set up. I ordered a spicy barbacoa super burrito & mild carne asada super quesadilla both were good perfectly flavored & fresh but would have tasted better with some chips & salsa on the side but it was good.
