La Mezca

La Mezca is a beautiful, private, high-end spot with a late-night "hidden away" speakasy vibe whose decor is a celebration of Mexican culture. My girlfriend and I came here for after-dinner drinks and ended up trying all of their 6 craft cocktails, and 3 different mezcals of different varieties. All of the cocktails are among the absolute best I've ever tried in my life, and the two bartenders were obviously masters of their craft, shaking a variety of very complex drinks with flair and impressive efficiency for a full-house. The cocktail recipes featured on their menu represent the peak of mixology that I've yet experienced, each being profoundly different from the others yet balanced, drinkable, and pleasant, and still highlighting the unique character of its featured liquor. They are also presented beautifully, uniquely, and dramatically, all of them worthy of a photo. The Mezcals were a spread curated by our phenomenal server, John, and opened our eyes to the variety, quality, and terroir expressed in this medium. I've historically been a whisky drinker, but tonight made me realize that mezcal is every bit as worthy of appreciation and has every ounce as much sophistication. The service was top-notch, personal, casual, but efficient and sophisticated. This is bar-none the best cocktail bar I have ever been to. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The mezcal drinks were delicious, especially their Flor de Fuego. I didn’t get to try the food, but they don’t have chips and queso 😔 It would have been perfect if they did! The atmosphere feels like a speakeasy, although the emptiness in the center kind of throws the place off a bit. Still, it’s a great spot in Mueller for cocktails, so I would definitely give it 5 stars!

Came here for an evening of cocktails on a Friday night and it did not disappoint! Service was on point with the bartending & wait staff, vibe was great, wasn’t terribly busy, music was on point & loud enough to have a conversation without being too noisy, and the cocktails were LEGIT! Very thoughtful combinations that hit just right. We were absolutely delighted with our experience and will definitely be back. Great to see Mueller have a wonderful place for a good cocktail!

Beautiful dark atmosphere. Friendly staff that let us try some mezcals and shared their knowledge about each. Their bottled Tepache was good too!

This place was very good. My whole family found something to drink here and it was delicious. The food was good and service too. I like spicy stuff and the sauce for tacos was actually spicy! Not a lot of seating, but we were accommodated and the atmosphere is dark and laid back. There could probably be a little more seating, but other than that it was great.

Drinks were well done, unique, and tasty. What’s going to keep me coming back is how welcoming the staff are, I felt they were happy to serve us instead of being a burden to their job/day. Coming back very often. Thanks team!

Truly one of the best mezcal bars I’ve been to! The staff was absolutely incredible and made great drink recommendations. It’s indoors but dog-friendly. Highly recommend their guacamole. Will definitely be going back!

Super cool space with delicious tacos and an excellent mezcal selection. We had cocktails, and John designed a mezcal flight for us as well. Highly recommend!
