"La Mia Mamma’s whole thing is that they serve proper Italian food handmade by real Italian ‘mammas’. The kind who force-feed you pasta like you haven’t eaten since birth. Even on weekdays you’ll find the spot packed with families, waltzing in shouting ‘buonasera’ with three generations in tow. This place is fun, loud, and just the right amount of cheesy. Sure, there’s better pasta out there, but the cacio e pepe is a personal comforting favourite." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"When we found out that homely Italian spot La Mia Mamma are delivering their survival kits across London from Chelsea, we had a reaction that can only be described as One Direction fan meets Harry Styles circa 2012. For £65 you get 1/2kg of pasta dough, dried dough, 2 handmade sauces, flour, aubergine parmigiana, pizza dough, charcuterie, meatballs, mini arancini, croquettes, cannoli, ricotta, handmade stracciatella di burrata, and a bottle of wine. Even we’d struggle to consume all that in one sitting, and there’s an even bigger, bumper kit if you’re looking to feed the whole family for a week." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
"Your friend sent you a voice note at 2am. They’d just performed a moving (for them) rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ outside their ex’s bedroom window. Things are desperate. The restraining order is pending. Only carbs and a mother’s love can fix this now. Enter La Mia Mamma, where a troupe of female chefs, known as the mammas, cook a menu of regional Italian food. We defy the cacio e pepe at the Chelsea spot not to fix broken hearts. That and the motherly overfeeding, spontaneous serenading, and second bottle of wine you’ve polished off." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"If you’re manifesting more wholesome memories for 2025, then having your final dinner of the year at La Mia Mamma is the way to go. The mammas may have split up now that they have a few other Italian restaurants, but the fun, lively energy and the force-feeding remains true. You’ll find this Chelsea spot packed with families, waltzing in shouting ‘buonasera’ with three generations in tow. It’s fun, loud, and just the right amount of cheesy. After 6pm there’s a special four-course NYE menu, and there’ll be live music from 9pm until midnight." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"La Mia Mamma is a bloody hoot. It serves proper Italian food handmade by real Italian ‘mammas’, who will force-feed you additional pasta like you haven’t eaten since birth. If you’re not already sold, we’re not sure we can be friends anymore. Even on weekdays you’ll find this Chelsea spot packed with Italian families, waltzing in shouting ‘buonasera’ with three generations in tow. It’s fun, loud, and just the right amount of cheesy." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing
