"Those in an Italian mood can head to La Moderna and start with the eggplant parmigiana with vegan mozzarella and parmesan ‘cheeses,” plus San Marzano tomato sauce or the portobello mushroom carpaccio garnished with an arugula pesto sauce. Continue on to the canneloni made with zucchini pasta, tomatoes, and a soy milk bechamel or the Lillies with broccoli featuring legume based pasta in a rabe broccoli sauce. Leave room for the lava cake oozing with chocolate hazelnut spread and a scoop of vanilla ice cream — yes, all vegan. The menu is available everyday for dinner." - Stacy A. Moya

We ordered the Morroccan Chicken and the Ribeye. . They were just delicious!!! Plus the original cocktails and the Italian cheesecake. We highly recommend this place. The owner Hugo came to our table to make sure that everything was well. We will definitely come back ☺️. Macarena was our server and she was amazing.

One of the few restaurants with true mixologists in Miami. If you go for happy hour, order the Moscow mule or the Apperol Spritz (La Modena Style). The original La Moderna is in Rome and they also own Fratelli La Bufula in South Beach.

Had always passed this restaurant and told myself I wanted to try their Vegan options, not that I am Vegan but that I appreciate the effort. During my first visit I really appreciated the decor, attention and friendliness from wait staff and how welcoming the owner was. We tried the Miami Spice menu which was good. Not the complex Italian food you find at fancy places, this reminded me of a local Italian eatery or grandmas cooking. The place has a local homey feel. By the time I left they made me feel like I’ve know them for years. I look forward to coming back and trying the regular menu.

What a gem of a place! This is REAL Italian food! And owner Ugo is great and charismatic and cares about your experience. Plus, I love that they also cater to vegetarians & vegans, with several delicious options. So happy we stumbled across La Moderna.

I rarely review, but I really want to avoid other people wasting their money as I just did. Location is superb but the staff and food are terrible. We asked for advice to the Italian manager as the clueless crew were a mess. He convinced us the wines were superb. We Vivino and tasted all he recommendations and all scored 3.5 or less, tested off and were above 40 a bottle. The decent wines were 80 up. The pasta salsa was supposed to be fresh Italian porcini and was instead canned regular mushrooms that are upsetting our tummies. Avoid at all cost

A little bit pricey, even with the Miami Spice. If they ask you if you want bread, take into account they will charge you for it, even if they don’t tell you about it in advance. Waiters are friendly. The truffles and mushroom risotto was delicious and the tiramisu was pretty good. Overall a good experience.
