La Monarca Bakery & Cafe

I usually go to other locations because of the quality. Truthful this location doesn’t have the same taste and quality. Last time I got a mold slices cake. So I decided to give it one more chance. For one they got my order wrong. I know there are two chipotle items but I did repeat my order and indicated I wanted the breakfast one and I still got the wrong one. Went back and the server was so rude and had the audacity mock a thank you. Even if it’s a drive, I’d rather just go to Lincoln Heights or South Pasadena or Hollywood because this location terrible

The sweetbread is good at this bakery, whenever we go to La Monarca, we get the taquitos de cajeta and some conchas, the cafe de olla is quite good. Once we tried their burritos and to be honest they weren’t good, haven’t tried their cakes though.

Part of a local chain, but this location is well-kept and always stocked. The tres leches cake is soft and creamy. Their coffee drinks are strong and pair well with the pastries. Service is quick, even when it’s busy. A nice upgrade from your average bakery.

It will be better if you closed the bakery , is not what it used to be, today I came to buy a Mocha Cake and for my surprise there wasn’t cakes available , only flavors like guayaba, cajeta, fresa … I wanted a mocha, vanilla or a chocolate cake , and they said they we’re sold out !!! It was 3:00 pm. They must had made one cake 🤷‍♀️, I used to come to buy cakes and they used to have all flavors but not anymore 🙄🙄, I’m not coming back it’s a waste of time , this bakery is no good anymore

A modern panadería with Mexican coffee drinks and pastries. The conchas are soft and fresh. The café de olla latte is my favorite. The store is clean and has a cozy vibe. A nice mix of traditional and modern

I came in for coffee but ended up leaving with pan dulce too. Their café de olla has the perfect cinnamon-spice kick. The bakery case is full of colorful pastries that are hard to resist. Service is quick and friendly. It’s nice to see a local chain that keeps quality consistent

The place is clean. The coffee and the burrito I did not have any flavor. The Guava cake was not good at all. I think the only descent thing they have to eat is the Conchitas. Plus they don’t have parking.😞. I will not be coming back to this place.

I literally ask if ths orange juice was fresh squeeze. They say yes I pay. Most nasty orange juice ever. Tortas de mole $9 dls without mole. Really bad. Don't even try the tortas.;(

Best coffee spot in this area! Albert, our server was so kind and is the best here too. On top of that, the ambiance and the vibe is so beautiful!

I order two cold coffees and they failed me watered down no flavor never again makes me sad horchata de olla and Mexican chocolate and the guy that took my order was not talkative at all.

This was my first time here and I wasn't sure what to get. Thankfully Albert was able to help me and was very nice about recommending me a drink. Definitely visit this location !! I will be coming again :)

I love the tres leches cake! I can't wait to order that for an upcoming birthday. We tried the Horschata cake & the Cafe Oaxaca coffee as well. Super delicious. The orange juice was sweet and freshly pressed. Service was great, gave us a lot of good info and were super helpful overall. Atmosphere was so clean and tidy. My first time at a La Monarcha and I was very impressed. Thank you!

FILTHY, DIRTY. I was the first customer in the store and noticed nats / flys all over the bread. The tongs weren't cleaned. Honestly one of the nastiest bakeries I've been to in a while. I walked right out and didn't buy anything

Great service! Shout out to Albert for the great customer service and recommendations, the cakes here are the best . The horchata matcha is always goodd and I was surprised and how yummy their "dirty jaritos" are.

I ordered some cookies for a wedding and they did not disappoint. Love their cookies and drinks! My favorite is the horchata de olla!

Great service, always go for a walk during lunch and stop to grab my afternoon pick me up. Albert and the other ladies are always friendly and offering treats to try.

went around 8:44 am staff was beyond rude, the lady who gave me my drinks was very impatient & rude, didn't fill up the cafe de olla all the way, & looked bothered that i asked for a straw.

I am very disappointed, my daily drink did not had foam. They were out of foam. This isn't the first time they are out of foam. They will lose a loyal customer if they continue to not have foam on my favorite drink.

i pre ordered for the holidays, when i arrived they had "accidentally" gave my pre ordered cake to another customer, very disappointing. Don't trust them with your pre orders, I just received a "pre order your larga rosca with us email" for what? so you can accidentally give it away

The espresso taste just like regular brewed coffee . Honestly this place isn't that good the pasteries are dry and the lattes are flavorless

We came in right now and they have no cake slices no signs available to know what kind of cakes they have available the door in the entrance is broken one of the girls was on her phone. You guys should just close early at this point. Drove all the way from LA.

I will never buy from La Monarca again, the store refused to refund me for cupcakes I did not order. They gave me the most hideous cupcakes. DO NOT PLACE any order online, once you make a purchase it does not matter what they give you, you will never get a refund here. The picture attached are the cupcakes I ordered versus the cupcakes I received. I paid $3.25 plus take for each cupcake which is laughable.

I decided to change my review after much improved customer service. Good hot chocolate made with almond milk. Love their mini conchas and flan. I typically order from Door Dash and they pack everything with care. When I go in person service has been good and place looks nice and welcoming.

A friend recommended this bakery to me because she absolutely loves their pan dulce. I needed to bring breakfast items for a funeral, so I decided to try them out since they offer catering with pan dulce and to-go carafes of coffee. Although most of the employees primarily spoke Spanish and I don't know the language, they went out of their way to assist me, which I deeply appreciate. One staff member, Estela, was especially patient and helped me gather all the bread I needed. The entire process was smooth, and when I brought everything to the viewing, everyone loved the bread and coffee. It was a huge hit. Highly recommend this bakery for their great service and delicious offerings!

Great little bakery. Nice and clean and well organized. We enjoyed a cup of their champurrado and (3) pastries. We got the chocolate croissant, the dulce de leche croissant, and an elote cake slice. My favorite was the dulce de leche croissant. The elote cake was dry so I had to ask them to warm it up for 20 seconds in their microwave. It tasted much better afterwards but the croissants are much more enjoyable

Today I went to get some cupcakes, but they don't have available. So I decided to get some cakes to feed 55 people. 3 nice ladies was helping me. They were great. One of them is the manager. I tried to tip them, but their system doesn't allow to take tip from cards. This is horrible. Owner: you need to fix that. I will be coming more often and they deserve tip. Thank you.

Best prices for a LOADED chocolate croissant. Inside is clean and nice. The pastries and drinks smell awesome. My daily bus commute snack!

This is the worst thing I've ever had! I placed an order on line for a pick up and upon arrival to pick up the food items, none of what I had ordered was available. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is ok but the food and pastries are awful! The replacement sandwiches they made for us instead of the burritos are absolutely disgusting. Dry, flavorless, soggy and just soaking in grease! For the amount of money I spent, I could have gone to Porto's and got my money's worth. And to make matters worse, I ordered two blended oatchata for the kids and got two iced coffee drinks - flavored unknown. Guess where those disgusting caffeinated drinks went to? The garbage, just like their disgusting dried up food. Never again!!

Most likely would never go back . The bread wasn't fresh , the cakes were decent. The coffee was a fail , didn't taste good at all ( iced options ) I paid $4 for a slice of Mexican corn bread that was so dry and stale. The croissants were the only good and fresher tasting pastries. If it wasn't a drive for me , I would have gone back and asked for a refund. Over all, no bueno . Expensive and the store location it self wasn't ideal. The outside of the location smells like sewage.

Today you have disappointed me the tiramisu cake was dry I chose your bakery to buy my wedding anniversary cake and I was dissatisfied. Customer service was great

Very clean and well stocked, I was able to grab their $10 pink and white mini conchaitas box, 12 included, for Mother's day. Very cute.
