The 35 Best Restaurants in Cartagena, Colombia | Eater

"Despite its exceedingly hip vibe, this unconventional comfort food spot offers some of the city’s best traditional Colombian food, made with ingredients sourced from small producers. The simple but tasty fare includes seafood served on plantain leaves, ceviches, refreshing agua frescas, and other surprises made with native produce. Opens from breakfast to lunch, La Mulata is a nice option for tourists or locals with flexible work schedules [$$ - $$$]" - Juliana Duque

This was our favourite restaurant in Cartagena and we can certainly recommend visiting this spot. If you come early they might have a table available but it gets busy quite quickly. They have a sea-themed restaurant and offer seafood. They also have meat and their specialty is the posta negra. The meat was very tender and flavourful. The chicken was also very good. We really enjoy the taste of the ‘limonada coco’ too, absolutely worth a try. The staff was very friendly and the prices were reasonable for downtown Cartagena.

Honestly, delicious food and cute atmosphere, but the service is so so. It was slow and we had to ask for even the basics (plates, glasses with our beverages…) the restaurant is surprisingly ultra wide and very well decorated. A cozy ambiance and very tasty food for a great price.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ La Mulata Vegan options in Cartagena, Colombia The food was solid, especially the vegetarian options. The arroz wok was really good and very plentiful, and the vegetales wok was a standout — well sautéed, flavorful, and cooked just right, not soggy or overdone. That said, while the dishes were enjoyable and filling, they didn’t quite rise to a “must-return” level, especially given the wait and overall experience. It’s a good option if you’re nearby and looking for vegetarian-friendly food, but not a place I’d go out of my way for.

Very tasty fish dish. I had the filet camaron and it was delicious. The lemonade coco as well, very refreshing. Service is friendly and attentive and the place has a nice vibe to it, at least the outer space where I sat down.

We spent 3 weeks in Colombia and went back to La Mulata 3 times. The food and prices are great. Of note, the Camarones al Habanero ceviche is one of the best ceviches I have ever had. They also prepare amazingly cooked fish, both grilled and fried.

We got there around noon, and there were only a few tables left, so we were seated near the restroom. The food was good and reasonably priced, so I would recommend this place. That said, the restroom was a bit dirty, so it might be better to use a restroom somewhere else if you can.

The place lost power but was still good atmosphere. The food was good from the soup start to the shrimp pasta! My highlight was the passion fruit juice so fresh and crisp. The fish with lime was also good options

Really nice place, the deco is beautiful the bathroom uses really good paper. It is ventilated properly so that the restaurant is cooler than Cartageneras heat without using any A/C. I didn’t really like the coconut lemonade is.
