"This spot is named after a song written by Cuban composer Guillermo Rodríguez Fiffe that was covered by Mexican rockers Caifanes in 1989, and like the song, this mod Sinaloan cevicheria is a little cumbia, a little rock and roll. Under the shade of salmon-colored umbrellas and a corrugated steel-panel roof, try the Torresona, a show-stopping Sinaloan seafood tower of raw and cooked shrimp, tuna, cooked octopus, and mahi-mahi formed in a ring mold with slices of purple onion, cucumber, and layers of fresh avocado, all bathed in lime juice and salsa negra. A variety of seafood tostadas, fiery aguachiles, and Sinaloan seafood tacos, like a gobernador stuffed with melted Gouda and grilled shrimp, are paired with cold beers and international cocktails such as Old Fashioneds, Aperol spritzes, and espresso martinis." - Bill Esparza

We went to this place to try tacos upon a friend's recommendation. We tried different varieties like octopus, shrimp, and fish tacos. The shrimp taco was definitely the best, but the others were also quite delicious. This place is highly recommended for tacos. Before the meal, they served chips with a sauce, which I hadn't seen at other places in Mexico—it was a nice touch. The atmosphere was lovely, thanks to the garden design. We had to wait a bit for the waitstaff, but other than that, it was a great experience.

Its not for nothing this place has so many good reviews and is always crowded. I have been here many times and its always so busy. Often you see a line up in the street even at odds hour like 3 or 4pm. I put a picture so you can see for yourself 😅 it’s very impressive. Great price it’s very reasonable! By that I mean a shrimp taco is 50 pesos (you can make two tacos per order)🤣 AND it’s excellent. Very good sangria. Their ceviche is also one of the best. Is la Negra Tomasa the best spot in Tulum for mexican food? Quite possibly! Especially for the fresh seafood.

A really busy seafood restaurant. The food was really good, particularly the salmon/avocado ceviche, salmon taco & octopus taco. The quesabirria and the ceviche with the darker sauce were too salty though. Our server Franco was great although we did wait almost our whole meal for water. We weren’t sure what to order - wish they had physical menus rather than QR code - so Franco offered to order for us and it was the perfect amount. Loved the shrimp broth to start. Huge downfall was the reservation system - we were told 40 minute wait for a table and given a buzzer and to get a drink at a bar nearby, but then it went off after 7 minutes. We went back to the restaurant only to wait for another 20 minutes. Need to sort that out, otherwise we had a great experience. And sooo reasonably priced which made up for some of the salty dishes

Everything at this restaurant is on point, staff is really friendly and willing to help (got the best spot just at the bar with the great Octavio and Eliana). Place looks amazing and the food….. can’t even explain it….. you have to try it, or you won’t believe it!

This Mexican seafood place is common for some raw menu's. It was really really tasty and the quality of the fish was amazing. Also all the staff is friendly and will explain everything. We had some raw Tuna tostada. Delicious!!

A restaurant you must visit when in tulum. Everything we ate was delicious and their portions are well served ! Great value, flavor, portions and price. The background music was great. They also give you a courtesy when you get there which is a delicious little cup of shrimp soup. I recommend trying their Mar y Tierra Tostada but ask to get it with flour tortilla instead. Their palomitas de camaron as well which is fried shrimp. I’ll be coming back for sure!

We really did not enjoy the food too much. My wife and daughter got a surf and turf tostada. The shrimp on my daughters were cooked but the ones on my wife’s were raw. Service was slow and it seems that the waiter forgot about us as he did not come back and check on us multiple times.

My family and I visited La Negra Tomasa after hearing about their tacos. It did not disappoint. I got the pescado taco and it was the freshest mahi mahi fish taco I've ever had. They were very busy but still able to accommodate my party of 7 and the staff were very kind. This place is a must try
