The Best Dishes and Desserts at Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway, Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"You’re bound to get thirsty while on a tasting tour of Plaza Fiesta, so what better way to hydrate than with an aguas frescas. La Michoacana Niña Pop, which includes a location in Norcross, touts some of the best aguas fescas in the Atlanta area. Try the limon con chia y pepina (lime with chia seeds and cucumber), a seriously refreshing drink for replenishing and resetting the palate. The stall also offers a colorful feast for the eyes with an array of gourmet popsicles. Find flavors like Ferrero Rocher, tequila with almonds, and tamarind." - Olivia Harrison

Came in for the first time today with a decent crowd of kids. The staff was excellent and patient having a lobby full of children. The manager was especially great and provided excellent service to us all. I would surely recommend anyone to come here!

At first the service was good and the prices were also and every week we spent more than $50 dollars but yesterday they charged me the For two. large When the ice cream looked small and I asked them and the girl told me that they had already changed the measures and the prices the truth was expensive for 2scoops I was charged 9 dollars for each ice cream when a week before the ice cream were better served apart I buy a cup of fruit and the mango was all dry I think the Businesses start to have popularity and lower the quality of the product and the service. And maybe the owner no longer cares about losing a customer when there is more people who can scam, it is sad but it is so 🙄🙄🙄

Update: They need to hire someone extra to wipe down chairs, tables, and floors. Good ice cream but looking at the dirty surroundings makes me not want to come back anytime soon. This my first time trying a mangonada. Sweet, sour, spicy. Yummy! update: love the passion fruit with coconut ice cream. So many options and got a little carried away with ordering a drink and their chiccharon preparado (wasn't a fan). This is usually our weekly place to go for ice cream.

I love to eat here! I used to go to Kinko’s across the street. Now I prefer to eat here. Everyone that works here always has a smile when you walk in they make you feel comfortable and you can eat authentic Mexican street tacos and get ice cream at the same time. The best of both worlds in my opinion. My wife and I were one of the first customers when they opened. I just enjoy coming here. The corn is amazing. I usually get it in the cup not on the cob. I tried the place in the gas station. The Circle K, Venezuelan food truck, chomp something like that. I got food poisoning threw up my food immediately and will never go to that place again! They say Venezuelan, I say I got sick and threw up, trying to eat a burger from there never again. I would recommend only coming to La Niña Michoacana out of the shopping center. I have been coming to this store for over 15 years before this restaurant was even here. It used to be a really rundown Gas Station and it has been converted into a wonderful place now but the Circle K is no good. The Domino’s on the corner taste awful doesn’t even taste like real dominoes! Magnolias used to be here. It was a wonderful place for breakfast and brunch, but they went out of business when they redid the whole shopping center. I have seen businesses come and go, but La Niña Michoacana is here to stay! I would recommend everyone to try coming to this place once. If you do you will definitely return hands down! 🌮🍌🍓🥑🌽🥩🧀🍨🍡🥮🍽️

Even though the store is cleaning, there are a lot of popsicle choices, the Dubai strawberry is excessively expensive I paid almost $15 for that. the size, the amount, and the flavor don't make sense with the price. I think it is not worth it.

Pros: -the variety of treats and snacks to buy -on TOP of that, everything is reasonable. -to add even more, everything looks and tastes fresh -such a clean store -Menus are in English but they speak Spanish as well! -everyone working here is so kind and sweet -I got the mango michelagua (I think that’s how you spell it) and good lord. It’s huge. The rim is covered in tajin, there’s mango juice, mango toppings, a straw covered in tajin and chamoy flavors, a packet of even more spicy sauce seasoning (idk what it was called but I put it in my drink too) as well as some chewy straw candy AND a mango lollipop??? I can’t believe it was 8 bucks. Definitely coming back for the popsicles. This place is insane

Yelp
We finally have a Mexican ice cream/popsicles place in Peachtree Corners! Long overdue! This shop just opened up last month and I can already see it being a huge hit. It's located next to the Circle K gas station. Huge space with large windows and is VERY well decorated for a dessert shop. It looks like it could be part of a high end hotel. They serve all sorts of delicious treats here include mango chamoyada, fresh fruit cups, fruits juices, macaroons, churros, ice cream, and made-in-house popsicles! I love how fresh everything was! They make all their products on site so that it fresh and delicious. We tried the mixed fruit fresca and mango chamoyada. Both were ADDICTING. I can't wait to try everything out! I can totally seeing this being a weekly stop. I did notice there isn't much for sitting areas inside or outside so that would be something for the owners to consider setting up. Overall, highly recommend checking this place out if you enjoy sweets and fresh fruits with a twist.

Yelp
As someone who lives in Peachtree Corners, I am thrilled that we no longer have to drive to Plaza Fiesta to enjoy this special treat! You can bet our family will be here Every. Single. Week. We go for the pops! Outstanding variety and flavors. Our family favorites are the Arroz, the Ferrero Rocher, Mango, and the Durazno. But we still have lots of flavors to work through. The Gansito was a fun and special treat (think Little Debbie INSIDE a pop)! Delicious. We love the whole fruit and nut surprises inside lots of the pops. I prefer the creamy pops, but the fruit pops are wonderful, too. And they don't just have pops. They have ice cream (in almost all the same flavors as pops) and juices. The juices are OUTSTANDING. The Coco and Chia Limon are a couple of our faves. They also have cakes and macarons. When we stopped in last week, they shared that soon, they will have tamales, empanadas, and churros. In short, we are HUGE fans. Love the service. And love the treats. Welcome to the neighborhood. Super excited to support your business in our community!

Yelp
I've been driving by this shop for months waiting for it to open and was so excited to see if finally opened! My husband loves chamoyada, and we usually drive all the way to Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway for it. It's such a relief to just make a short drive here now! The space is huge and very clean- very welcoming. I like that it's in a lot by the gas station because it's easy to just drive by and swing by for a quick treat. They offer so many options and flavors. There's popsicles, ice cream, drinks, fruits, etc. We enjoy getting the mango chamoyada and generally always order that. Very refreshing desserts or a nice treat for a hot day. Plus it's definitely something different in the area to switch it up from the usual desserts.

Yelp
So good! I always come here whenever I crave a lil sweet treat. Be careful if you're lactose intolerant tho, because most items here are milk based

Yelp
I drove past this place while it was being built like everyyyy day. I finally stopped by on a lunch break after seeing the (NOW OPEN) and this place is a unique gem! It's not just a gourmet ice cream, sherbet, and popsicle shop! They sell macaroons, delicious shakes, handcrafted drinks, Paletas, Aguas, mangonadas, and several other customizable snacks! Looking for a culture shock, something different, or something familiar, this place has it all and serves it up beautifully! I had the gourmet caramel ice cream and the mangonada... both were amazing and my ice cream came in the cutest reusable cup with a spoon! (I'm a sucker for cuteness) I will definitely be back and you have to try this place!

Yelp
So the Mrs. and I stay down the street from this ice cream shop and have been waiting for the longest for it to open up! When we drove by one day and finally saw that it was open, we couldn't help but stop in. They offer plenty of options, all of which looked amazing. But to play it safe, we just decided to get two scoops of ice cream - Strawberry Shortcake - on a waffle cone. Delicious! The ice cream was super creamy and the strawberry tasted fresh and was noticeable but not overpowering. The price point was decent ($5 for one scoop $7 for two) and the service was great. Restaurant was spotless and spacious, but not too many areas to sit. If you're on a nice walk in the neighborhood and want a quick snack, would definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
Usually this place is good but the mango water tasted weird. I think they used old mangos or mixed up the water because my mango water was spicy and carbonated. Workers are 50/50 here sometimes they're in a good mood sometimes they're extremely shady. I would go here again but I think they should double check the water.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my ice cream! I got a large cup of ice cream with salted caramel and cookies and cream. It was delicious and good quality of ice cream. My boyfriend tried the mixed fruit drink and the churro and he really enjoyed those as well. Definitely will be coming back!
