The Best Dishes and Desserts at Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway, Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Bought by the Cardenas family in 2009, this classic taqueria offers staples like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos; standouts include the beautifully breaded milanesa de pollo and the menu-hero chicken flautas—crunchy, cigar-like tortillas filled with flavorful shredded chicken and served with rice, beans, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream." - Olivia Harrison

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU WHAT A GOOD BURRITO NO COMEN AQUÍ SI QUIERES UN BURRITO DELICIOSO. everything else is fine, but the burrito, how do you mess that up. Zero flavor. I feel like Gordon Ramsey when he reviews restaurants. Just bland.

Venezuelan workers have bad attitude idk why. I was the 55 customer and they were calling the 57 so I told the Venezuelan cashier what’s happening and she just gave me back my money instead of apologizing cause I could’ve been waiting cause everybody can have mistakes but they were so rude.

The food is decent I enjoyed what I ordered but when I wanted to change my Hochata drink because I hated it they gave me a horrible attitude. “ I can’t change your drink anymore because you already drank out of it”. Well I said how am I supposed to know if I like it without drinking out of it? They literally gave me a hard time to change it out, like a $2.50 drink is going to break their bank. Horrible attitudes I don’t recommend this place

The employees are very unprofessional they take orders while gossiping with the other employees.. the burrito had no kind of flavor.. meat tasted nasty couldn't even taste the pico.. will not spend my money there ever again... Waited for my can drink for over five minutes had to remind them few times of my can soda.. I ask for a to go tray.. she asked "was it to big to finish" I said no it was nasty.. as the manager she should have try to please me or a refund but their standards are very low

Yelp
Came here last night after reading about it in a well known local online food publication. The chicken flautas were highlighted in the article, so I just had to try them. Tacos La Nortena is in the main Plaza Fiesta food court. Lots of free parking is available surrounding the always busy Plaza Fiesta. Note that there is a separate smaller food court a short walk from the main food court. The woman behind the counter (I only saw one employee the entire time I was there) was nice and attentive, and answered questions about various menu items. I ordered the chicken flautas, which cost less than $9. After about a 10 minute wait, the employee called out to me, as I sat at a nearby table, letting me know I could come to the counter and get my food. All of the flautas were covered with a lot of lettuce and cheese, making it look like a salad. After eating through the flautas toppings, I started eating the flautas. They were just average tasting. Comparing the flautas here with others that I've had from other Mexican restaurants, I felt the ones here missed the mark. The amount of meat in each of the flautas (6 per order) were good; however flavor was lacking. I prefer crispy flautas, but the corn tortillas were still a little soft, and one of the flautas was slightly cool on the inside. The beans and rice that came with the flautas were hot (temperature wise). The beans were bland tasting while the rice was just OK. Be warned that the food court is right next to the kids' play area, and it gets rather noisy. I don't get bothered by noisy kids, though, so I was fine with all of the yelling and screaming.

Yelp
Good prices, large amount of food. Friendly staff and they went out of their way to do a special order for me and cook something my preferred way.

Yelp
This review speaks only to the beef empanadas...and they were hands down the best I have ever had. I ordered chicken but they only had beef. Fine. I was determined to get a snack so beef would have to do. I sat down in the crowded HOT food court with a man and his grandson who were friendly and started to wait. It took about 10-12 minutes and my number was called. The empanadas were piping hot (3 for about $7.50) and were draining on a paper towel inside the styrofoam container. I damn near burned my hand trying to get into them but once I did and the shredded beef cooled a bit I was amazed!!!The shredded beef was tender and fing wonderful. As they continued to cool I tried the outer crust. Unlike the crimped flour pastry these seemed to be made of corn batter? It was a bit sweet not greasy and FABULOUS. I want to eat these treats everyday. I will not go down buford hwy without stopping. I want them served at my wedding. I LOVE THEM. GO NOW AND ORDER THE BEEF EMPANADAS.

Yelp
Street tacos and roasted chicken are delicious and cheap. The staff is so nice and friendly, we would like come back and try different food.

Yelp
