Seven of the Most Affordable MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Paris

"One benefit of its location in the 11th is that the Hôtel de la Nouvelle République offers exceptional value for money. While you certainly wouldn’t compare it to the city’s elite palace hotels, it’s not at all spartan – not only are the tactile comforts well-chosen, but you’ll find details like triple-glazed windows, reading lights and tablets loaded with thousands of magazine titles." - The MICHELIN Guide

La Nouvelle République (Paris, Île-de-France) 10 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The east side of Paris is hipper than ever, thanks in part to a vibrant youth culture that stands in stark contrast to the much-mythologized tourist sites closer to the center. Ten years ago it would have been strange to stay in a hotel that’s closer to Belleville and Père Lachaise cemetery than to the Louvre or Notre-Dame. But that’s exactly where the hôtel de la Nouvelle République is — five minutes from the Place de la République, from which it takes part of its name — and with its retro-inspired, earth-toned contemporary interiors, it presents a fresh, comfortable, and attainable perspective on modern Parisian hospitality." - Tablet Hotels

Google
A gem of a hotel. Reasonably priced in a quiet, walkable neighborhood. Rooms are immense for the location and price point. What really sets the hotel apart is the friendly, knowledgeable staff. I was travelling with my older parents on their first European vacation and the service at this hotel was so exceptional that they (correctly) tell their friends that the stereotype of rude Parisians is a myth.

Google
A pleasant and stylish hotel with very friendly staff. The central area is beautiful and spacious, and the rooms are fine but not overly large. All amenities are provided. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The hotel is bedbug-free, which is great to know, and they're proud to share that fact. The Parisian neighborhood is also very pleasant to explore; it's a working-class area with pleasant restaurants serving good quality food at reasonable prices.

Google
A pleasure to stay at this hotel. Beautifully designed rooms and breakfast area, interesting art on the wall, attention to aesthetically pleasing details everywhere. Plus very friendly and attentive staff! The free coffee, and kettle and nice herbal tea in the room are a bonus. And I love this lively area of Paris, plenty of interesting bars and restaurants and not very touristy. The hotel itself is located in a quiet side street.

Decent for someone who likes the bohemian home vibe. Very “DIY” decor and furniture. The mattress is very thin. The elevator is 2 people max. They accept animals so if you have allergies bring medication.|The breakfast is nice.|The housekeeper open the door to my room 3 times without knocking. Imagine being a woman alone and a stranger opens your room door. |However, the area is laid back with lots of restaurants nearby.

A beautiful gem of a hotel located in the 11eme a short walk from both Couronnes and Oberkampf stations. The rooms are spacious (especially by Parisian standards) and completed to a very high standard. Breakfast was quite decent but I would recommend going to one of the numerous eateries nearby instead. There is a plethora of cuisines just footsteps away in this buzzing part of the city. Overall the stay was superb and I would fully recommend.

Google
Great hotel in a great area that is undervalued for its proximity to great food. The hotel has done a great job making the rooms comfortable and unique. The hotel's decor in common areas creates an awesome vibe. Above all, the knowledgable and friendly staff are the highlight. We had a great stay and would return again.

Thank you so much for a pleasant experience at your hotel! We booked two rooms and we all enjoyed it, specially our children. The beds comfortable, the shower amazing and special thanks to the people who clean our room because after a long day in paris, each time we came back it looked like new again 😀. Loved how we could relax in the lobby and enjoy a free coffee/hot chocolate. The area is bustling but the windows are so well soundproof it made for a great night sleep. Front desk was always so polite and welcoming. Many many thanks!

Google
The hotel is in a great location and Amir was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The area has a local feeling with lots of places to eat and drink and great travel options to get to the main areas you're likely going to want to explore. The rooms are a good size and the bed was super comfortable- we will definitely stay again!

Yelp
Cheap discount hotel. Nice, clean but don't expect any hotel extras. We had to ask for towels and a hair dryer, which were supposed to be a given up front. The free wifi was great though. There's no elevator, so you have to climb the stairs with luggage. The area was more local with less tourists. It was central in the north east part of Paris and a very easy metro ride from everything. There were plenty of great bars/cafes nearby. The outside traffic makes the hotel very noisy with the windows open. Oh and no AC. But all in all, a great deal for a weekend in Paris for younger adults/students.

Yelp
This hotel is in a great part of town, but that is really it's best (and only) asset. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room, nor a hairdryer. The worst thing is the non-existent noise insulation - not from the outside, but from the internal stairway which is wooden and extremely noisy to walk up and down. You can hear every step echo up through the building from within the rooms. In addition, the staff here gave us incorrect directions to get back to Gare du Nord on the metro, and as a result we missed our train - I would expect more from a not-so-cheap hotel. I've put the price as moderate, but in honesty this is more of a hostel then a hotel and I don't feel that the price we paid was reflective of this. Would not go back.
