I finally made it to the hyped-up restaurant, and here's my take. If you drink their "Buttah" drink all the way to the end, they could serve you noodles with ketchup, and it would still feel Michelin-star-worthy. That drink should honestly be called Hercules because it's strong and potent. There's a lady behind the counter secretly adding who-knows-what, but she was definitely pouring a lot of liquor, some sour orange, and mixing in pineapple and coconut.
The inside of the restaurant has a classic diner vibe; nothing fancy, but it works. My server, Daniel, was nice. Service wasn't over the top, but he was generally pleasant. My phone was almost died, so I couldn't take as many photos of the food as I wanted, but the person behind the counter even helped me charge it, which was a nice touch.
Onto the food: The Cracklin' Chicken had great texture and a nice cut of meat, but it was a bit bland. I had to add BBQ sauce, black pepper, hot sauce, and some lemon from my salad to bring it to life. The Chicken Lo Mein was good but not worth the nearly $19 price tag. I do think the place is overpriced for what you get.
Now, about the Buttah drink is definitely the highlight. It was the most expensive thing I ordered, and while I didn't finish it, I still have some in the fridge. I got the small, and even that was strong enough to feel like a champion if you finish it. So, yes, I'd come back just for the drink. But everything else was underwhelming for the price. If it wasn't as expensive, I'd probably return more often.
Overall: Worth a visit for the drink, but the food doesn't quite live up to the hype, especially for the price. I also want to add many were ordering seafood; crabs, lobster and shrimp which I can't have. Maybe their seafood is food? Or maybe after one of their drinks it's ahhhmazing (since everyone had a buttah)
