The Best Restaurants for Tapas and Other Spanish Food in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"The aptly-named Village eatery Paella 1334 has several variations on that classic Spanish rice dish. These range from a lush five-vegetable options to chorizo, seafood, and chicken versions. The kitchen is open late, and a table d’hôte menu is available. They also deliver." - Karin Murray-Bergquist

Absolutely amazing experience! La Paella instantly makes you feel like you’ve traveled to Spain 🇪🇸 The flavors are so authentic, the paella is rich, perfectly seasoned, and the seafood was cooked to perfection 🥘✨ The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the staff is super friendly, and everything feels genuine. Definitely worth it, AND they have good music: if you love Spanish food, this place is a must!

A great experience! If you’re looking for a cozy, intimate restaurant with Latin music, you’ve found the right spot. Their menu is perfect for groups, especially since they offer a $35 deal that includes many tapas and a paella. If you’re a paella lover, tapas enthusiast, and always down for a drink, this is the place for you!

What a delicious discovery. This is a family own restaurant run by a very humble man who is very passionate in cooking gastronomic food for others. The Paella is so divine, i had the chilly nachos, very tasty. Ended up the evening with muscles, what a delight. Will definitely go back.

Nice place in the heart of the village with lots of choices. Chef was super interesting and if you get a chance to talk with him it brings the food some history and background. I recommend the sangria and the paella Royale (2ppl)

an intimate gem, with its warm atmosphere and traditional cuisine. We had the pleasure of indulging in their very large paella, and it was incredibly satisfying! Packed with great flavors and showcasing perfectly cooked seafood. In addition to the paella, we highly recommend the charcuterie and cheese plates. Each dish was crafted with fresh ingredients. They offer an excellent selection that pairs beautifully with their delicious tapas and cocktails. It delivers authentic Iberian specialties, for anyone looking to explore traditional Spanish cuisine. 🇪🇸✨

I was invited to the terrasse opening at La Paella, and even though classic Montréal spring weather made a surprise appearance (yes, the rain came and we had to move inside), the evening still had such a great vibe. I started with a glass of their white wine sangria—light, fruity, and way too easy to sip. Then came the tapas lineup: spicy patatas bravas, creamy salade russe, salty prosciutto, and a playful chicken poutine that gave a fun Québécois twist to the Spanish spread. Everything was cozy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The terrasse itself is super charming, with a view of the Village that’s full of energy and personality. I’ll definitely be back when the sun decides to stick around. And while this event was all about the tapas, I’ve got my eye on their paella next time—I mean, it is in the name. I spotlight my favorite local gems on tiktok @foxy.appetite and IG @foxyappetite This meal was comped as part of a media preview—sharing my honest thoughts above.

What’s your plan for 4 à 7 after work or Friday night in Montreal? Let’s go La Paella @restolapaella in the heart of Montréal’s Village @villagemontrea for authentic Spanish flavors (Chef Mathias worked in Spain for 30 years knows what’s the best way to bring us to Spain from his kitchen) , sizzling paellas, and tapas that pair perfectly with live music vibes for 4à7 (15% off) & Friday night 🎶🥘🍷
