Went past here a few times and decided to stop in for some seafood. This was a great decision! The service was fast and friendly! They serve Nayarit style seafood (the seafood of Nayarit, a state in Mexico on the western coastline, south of Mazatlán). We were going to order an appetizer, but did not. We had the Camornes La Palapa shrimp in their special sauce with onions and peppers (served with rice, beans, and salad. There was just enough food for both of us to enjoy and we felt full, but not stuffed. The shrimp was spicy, but, not hot, very tasty. The portions of everything were large and the whole plate was well balanced. My picture really does not do enough justice to this entree. In looking at their menu, there are a lot of options that we want to try on our next visit. I have a feeling that we will be returning here quite a few times.

Ok when j hear Palapa I think of the south side original one. I figure this place was going to be as good as the one in the south side but I was WRONG!! From the service to the food quality and quantity to presentation and taste. Our server gladly added not a 15% but a 18% gratuity on our bill. I get it I worked in the serving industry before and I know tips are important but please try and earn it don't just adjust it without earning it. Our table went on without being cleared for ever. When we order drinks or took forever to get them. It was not busy at the time. On top of that our server didn't open our beer!! Now that's bad service. Food quality all together would get a 1 star from me. The taste and presentation was poor. The food was dry and not reasonable size either. I will not be coming back and I hope everyone who is thinking of going thinks twice. Just head on to Las Islas Maria's.

Great mexican style sea food, please be aware the smell and flavor are strong, love this place, we tried the camaron zarandeado and a rompecolchones, full of flavor, if God permit will come back again.

I have to La Palapa on the south side, this one is a little smaller. I called ahead and by the time I got there they were ready to seat my party of 8 within 10 minutes. The appetizer was very small not enough to feed 3 yet alone 8. The drinks we ordered were great. It is BYOB so if you don't want to pay for drinks there bring your own, they will put on ice for you. The food was great. I would have liked a bigger menu selection with mixture of crab, shrimp, oysters and clams like some of the other mariscos places I've been. But the portion size and overall was right on point. Cleanliness wasn't what I was hoping for but was good enough, I could just be more over the top than most now a days. I'd come here again.

Place is really good! Prices are reasonable... Food is good and the drinks are great. Actually they are better priced than other seafood places. Like how music is not to loud that you can actually have a conversation with company. Waiting on warmer weather so are able to sit outside! Waitresses are always friendly and checking up on you which to me its good service. Will be coming often!

We had Diana has our waitress and she was amazing. Very attentive, described anything on the menu we had questions on, and came to check on us multiple times. We always had what we needed. We came in and were seated right away by her and she just made the rest of the evening great! I'm really happy they opened a location on Harlem because it's so much closer to me than their other one! Always going back.

Service was sub par, there were 5 different employees running the floor and we waited over 50 minutes for our food. The waitress that attended to us was flaky and kept forgetting our order and when we asked for a smaller plate she completely forgot about it 3 times. No one checked up on us but we did learn that they had a really great party the night before and they were also drinking on the job. Super unprofessional, not going back.
