The 18 Best Restaurants & Bars In Puerto Vallarta

"Nothing says “I’m not checking my email” like having breakfast at La Palapa near the Los Muerto Pier with your feet in the sand while drinking a piña colada. La Palapa is one of those restaurants that’s been around forever—you can actually see pictures of what Vallarta used to look like 70 years ago inside the restaurant.  Don’t miss staples like chilaquiles or huevos rancheros, the corn muffins that come with other freshly baked pastries, and the pancakes topped with caramelized banana, toasted nuts, mascarpone cheese, and Nutella. After breakfast, ask the staff to move your party to the sunbed camastros that are on the beach right in front of the restaurant where you can continue to drink your Bloody Mary, cold beer, and maybe even stay for lunch. We had an awesome experience at La Palapa. We booked dinner for 15 people on the beach for the night before our wedding. They customized a 3 course vegan menu for us and let us make whatever changes we wanted. Our guests had different options for appetizers and desserts and EVERYONE loved the food (both vegans and non-vegans). The event coordinator was great to work with and the staff that night went above and beyond. Do not hesitate to reach out to them for your event, they will make it how you want it! We were on the beach for sunset and as it started to rain they moved out whole large table inside (it was incredible). The open bar was also very reasonable and the margaritas were excellent. Thanks for a great night!!

Google
Cool place, great ambience on the beach, comfortable and cool. The food was great, everything perfectly cooked and served. Good service. The reason for the four stars is the prices. They defy logic. As an example, I paid 145 pesos for a beer. This is the kind of price I paid in Norway. Wages and liquor taxes in Norway are among the highest in the world. It was much more than what I would pay in a similar place in Spain or Portugal (cool restaurant on the beach). In the end, we enjoyed it but mind the prices.

We've now had breakfast, lunch and dinner at La Palapa. Prices are higher but you can't beat the view and vibe. ATMOSPHERE: The open air beach house decor with ambient orange lighting, spreads out from the indoor dining area, to thatched huts, then onto the actual beach with tables. A live band sang really well at dinner. The bathrooms have a gorgeous tile counter! FOOD: Definitely try their tray of baked goods that are brought around soon after sitting. The banana muffin was really good and moist. Lunch and dinners we've had were six years or more ago, so I won't comment on those. But, I recently had their Local Blue Crab benedict. The chipotle sauce overpowered the crab's flavor, so it wasn't that enjoyable. SERVICE: Always on-point and on a higher level than most eateries in the area. OVERALL: A classy and classic PV beach restaurant!

My boyfriend and I visited La Palapa for dinner one night, and it was such a memorable experience. The food was flavorful, colorful, and clearly presented well. Our server and the assistant was very attentive, funny, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. While we were there, the band befriended us because we very much enjoyed their music. The singer and drums were amazing, creating the perfect night on the beach! We enjoyed La Palapa so much we went back the next night just to get the Lava Cake, a couple drinks, and hear the live music again! Our server even recognized us. Was a wonderful, beautiful atmosphere. I would suggest it to anybody!

Google
Everything was incredible! We had a good time there, excellent service and delicious food. We ordered 3 options to share between myself and my husband. Octopus, coconut shrimp, some tacos and a lava cake, everything delicious!

Google
Excellent service and location! Loved the space. Food is clearly marked for allergies, accommodating of gluten free needs. Coconut shrimp was SO GOOD. Still thinking about it. Zarandeado fish fillet with garlic rice was also VERY tasty. Pear salad was a bit of a disappointment, but I think if you stick with seafood, you’ll have a great time.

If you ever are close to the beach looking for a 5 star experience, visit this restaurant! The service performed by the servers is attentive, professional and the same time warm and friendly, with attention to every detail of your experience. The food presentation and taste are excellent. The view at sunset, my pictures speak for themselves. Thank you for the lifetime memories you guys made for us.

Google
I’ve been here a few times over the years, and on this trip something is different … in the BEST way. We’ve dined for breakfast twice and a dinner once. Very seller food. Yeah yeah the price can be a little high, but with beachfront views, phenomenal service, and everything you get here, to me, it’s worth it. We enjoyed several dishes and cocktails at each meal. The crab Benedict is going to knock your socks off.

Yelp
Best experience in all of Puerto Vallarta! Wonderful service with a great view! Definitely recommend giving it a try

Yelp
I've come here two years in a row for their brunch vibes. Both times it was fantastic. Service was phenomenal! they offer restaurant as well as beachfront dining. I recommend this place for large groups as long as a budget isn't super important. This past time I ordered the grilled squid. It was super yummy as a beat. The bottom really made it kick. We also ordered guacamole that came with a marinated queso. All the food here is amazing. Also ordered their mango martini with tequila, and their hibiscus martini with tequila, we also ordered Casa Azul tequila. They offer a very wide selection of tequilas you can taste. Can't wait to come back again next year.

Yelp
Beautiful environment, amazing Sunset, great service and passable food ! Sums it up about this place. We were here on Sunday evening dinner. Made a reservation ahead. Got there 15 mins ahead of reservation. We checked in and waited for our table. We ordered appetizers mostly as we wanted try multiple dishes. Ordered Coconut Shrimp, El Pastor wonton, Mazamitla Salad, Mole Enchiladas and lobster and shrimp taquito Coconut Shrimp and Taquito were delicious. Wonton's were soggy and was chewy. Mole enchilada was chewy and had way too much cinnamon. Overall, I wouldnt go here for very delicious food, you pay for service and views

Yelp
The food is very good. The tortilla soup is fantastic. Should try it when u come here. The restaurant is located off the beach. Very nice at night. The service is not good. Waiter is slow coming to table on a slow night. The main entree meal takes a while to come to the table. The ambience is really laid back. The soft music adds comforts and relaxation.

Yelp
First stop after landing and checking into our Airbnb. The beachfront restaurant along the walkway makes for a perfect afternoon cooling off with a cocktail and amazing seafood. Beachfront dining to the max. Menu offered loads of seafood dishes which was a min factor of this trip. Seafood and more seafood. Also cocktails. The ceviche, the shrimp aguachile and the beets salad was excellent. The flavor all blended together just perfectly. As well as cocktail, you can't beat it. They also offered beach club where you can rent the lounges and have food and drinks brought to you. It was all booked when we got there. Believe you just have to leave by a certain time as they then utilize that area and then it into beachside dining for dinner. A great place for a meal but it is along the strip which compared to others, it could be a bit pricer.

Yelp
Great music, location, friendly staff, yummy food. The guacamole was delish, waiters were very careful of food allergies.

Yelp
Everything, Everything, Everything (view, food, vibe) was amazing! The restaurant is located right on the beach. You have the option to eat inside or on the sand. We choose the sand table which was really nice at sunset. Every food item we had was very good. My favorite was the potstickers! They were very good and not what you would think of as a potsticker. It's a must try. You also get a bread basket prior to your meal which was different assortments of bread. Our service was also very good. Overall, this was a great experience. I'd say somewhat pricey, but worth it.

Yelp
This may have been our favorite restaurant for brunch on our trip - food was amazing and they had a lot of options, service was wonderful and the location is right on the beach so the views are enjoyable. We ordered guacamole, octopus and ceviche for the table, I ordered the blue crab Benedict and my friend ordered an omelette. We also ordered several cocktails. The staff was so sweet to bring out birthday cake for my friend who was celebrating her birthday and sang happy birthday!

Alyssa Marie H.

Yelp
I had dinner here for a friend's bachelor party. We got tables on the beach and enjoyed the metal lanterns hung everywhere. This place is very classy with beach romantic vibes. I appreciated the wooden purse/beach bag hangers nearby. We were a large group of 50+, so service wasn't the quickest. But the food was delicious and the drinks were worth the wait.

Yelp
Located on Los Muertos Beach La Palapa Restaurant was founded by Rodelinda Pérez and Guy Dickey in 1959, their decision to open a place so far from the current downtown originally questioned but now celebrated as the first beach restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. Spanish for "thatched roof," a redesign in 1987 retaining much of the original and the business still family-owned, guests visiting now will still find friendly service and Mexican-influenced intercontinental cuisine ranging from Pot Stickers to Risotto. An expansive floor plan with several tables on the sand, sunset seating predictably in demand, it is while musicians serenade guests that servers circulate Bread with Butter followed by Appetizers, Pear Salad brightened by Hibiscus while Duck Enchiladas trend sweeter than they need to be. A tourist spot with prices to match, entrees up to 745 pesos, flavors for Pork Belly as well as Risotto are as expected and Desserts find Corn Flan with Mascarpone far outpacing Lychee Mousse compromised by Mint or greasy Churros atop Rice Pudding.

Yelp
I would say everything good at this establishment, but I'm not happy that they cannot return a question that I asked them thru their email! I don't know how long it takes for them to respond or even if they will. I asked them about a price of one of their items I was charged for. So I'm not sure if this a nice place or I may have been really 'ripped off.. so still waiting for the response. I will take this down immediately after I get a response back or else, I just ask tourist and other guests to be aware they might not be as nice as they pretend.. so I hope they response so I can give them a proper review.. possibly keep an eye on your charges

Yelp
We went to this place as part of our restaurant hopping for dinners and for sure this restaurant is one of a kind and very high class and provide outdoor dining with wonderful ambiance. As soon we went in and showed the reservation, host said we have table ready and took us the specially reserved table as part of outdoor seating. Very quickly someone dropped by to take the order and it was served very quickly. This is very high-class restaurant with a very different style of menu. For sure you will need advanced reservation at least couple of weeks before. We ended up trying few dishes like BEET SALAD , COCONUT SHRIMP, TUNA TATAKI and LOBSTER/SHRIMP TAQUITO the food was very classy and very fresh and felt like being cooked by passionate chef's. We tried several of their cocktails like Mango Margarita, Mai Tai. etc., and everyone enjoyed the drinks. This felt like a very different dining experience.

Yelp
The ambience, the view and the lighting are great, but you're paying for the view at La Palapa. The limited menu looked good but very expensive, so we wound up ordering two appetizers which were tasty. The $17 martinis were watered down and definitely not worth it. The waiter was unhappy with the 15% tip we left, which was more than fair for the service and the meal. La Palapa is high on the list for tourists, since it was our first night, we didn't know better. But luckily we found many other gems in PV.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
Service was slow in the bar area and prices for drinks were expensive, comparable to the US and with similar light pours. Worth going for food on the beach with an embrolla and chairs included in the prices!
google avatar

Dana A.

Yelp
We hit La Palapa on our first night in town and couldn't have picked a better place. We were seated out on the beachside dining area during sunset which was absolutely beautiful! We ordered array of entrées and drinks and everything was prepared with precision and bought in a timely fashion. It was a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it. This is one of the first restaurants you encounter into the Zona Romantica section, so definitely look out for it.
google avatar

Victor K.

Yelp
We have been going to this restaurant for about 25 years. At one point two three times a year, every time we came to PV. Lately not as often. So first of all we used to live this place it was number one along with River Cafe. They have made allot of cool expansions ie. onto the beach and enhanced the very cool ambiance even more. The live music is always very good but does not intrude on the dining experience. The service is friendly and accommodating. But I have to say the "improvements" in food department don't translate. For example the heirloom tomato soup is very good, however the addition of a lobster medallion is simply pretentious and idiotic, it was over cooked and completely lost in that soup. The fish I had was also over cooked. With the kind of prices I expect the food to be en par with everything else. So food 3.5 stars the rest 5+ stars.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
We had such a lovely time eating dinner, having some wine, and watching the sunset. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable that I was vegan. He even brought us a special side, instead of the regular complimentary bread, of plantains and a salsa dip, without me asking, which was so thoughtful. I love how they have a vegan entree on the dinner menu, mushroom risotto. It was delicious! Easy to make a reservation online.

Yelp
It's fine, just underwhelming. I like their business model though where you commit to a 500 pesos spend and get the chair for as long as you want. They do not rush you at all which I appreciated. I also fell very slightly short of the minimum spend and they didn't bother me about it, granted I probably only stayed for 2 hours or so. In some ways it feels upscale like the table setup and towel rental but in other ways it could definitely be improved, most notably that I was interrupted every 3 minutes or so by a beach vendor asking me to buy something. If the restaurant wants to charge luxury prices (which they do) they should ensure a luxury experience which includes not getting harassed by people trying to rip off tourists. Drinks were fine, ordered some pico and chips and it was also fine. This is imo the place you come for vibes, not to have a fine dining experience. I feel like all of the rave reviews are from middle Americans who live in the bumf*ck Midwest and think salt is seasoning. All in all yeah I'd prob come back. But if you're from a city with a culinary scene don't expect anything notable
google avatar

Ilana Z.

Yelp
Very nice beach club. You pay 550 pesos per person and that goes towards food/drink. The row of lounge chairs closest to the water were already taken but we were in the middle. The service from the staff is really good here. Everyone is always checking in on you. I got a glass of rose and it was perfectly chilled. My husband got a cold beer. For food we shared the tuna tartar appetizer, octopus tacos, and shrimp tacos for lunch. Everything was actually really delicious. I wasn't expecting. The octopus tacos might've been our favorite all trip. While the prices were a bit high, portion was generous. The beach club closes 3:30 but the staff don't really kick you out. We enjoyed our time here.
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
What a fun experience eating on the beach. We booked a table in the sand. I don't know if it was PC but I took my shoes off and had my feet in the sand while eating this amazing dinner. Everyone said they loved the meal. Service was excellent and the atmosphere looking at the ocean was breathtaking. Some think this could be a little touristy but so what! It's lovely.
google avatar

Tracy N.

Yelp
Excellent beach front atmosphere, wonderful music, incredible service, candlelight, friendly staff. The food... such a creative chef, crème brûlée with pesto?!? 5 trips to PV and I can't believe we had not found this place yet. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
Be adventurous and try this beachside restaurant serving authentic Mexican food and healthy sized cocktails. The food delicious, the drinks cold, great service and a fantastic view. BEST Maggie's we had the entire week we were in town! It was worth leaving out all inclusive to try this local (highly recommended) eatery. Would I go back? SI!!

Yelp
The Mrs. And I had dinner last night on what was our first evening in Puerto Vallarta. La Palapa is right next door to the El Dorado restaurant. It's a bit on the high end side compared to El Dorado. It was a beautiful evening and the hostess sat us at a table right on the beach. It was still a bit humid so we had a fan blowing on us to help cool us down. I also like that the hostess gave us cold towels which were really refreshing. El Dorado restaurant did the same thing. The Mrs. ordered her usual Bombay Sapphire martini and I ordered a Maker's Mark Manhattan. I almost felt guilty because I didn't order a Margarita. But there is plenty of time for that. For an appetizer, we ordered the Al Pastor Pork Potstickers. These weren't your normal potstickers. They were more crispy balls of pork served with a sweet sauce. They were just ok. The Mrs. ordered the seared salmon for her main. She loved it. Beautifully seared salmon resting a ravioli filled with carrot topped with artichoke hearts, shallot confit, and a guajillo pepper and champagne sauce. I ordered the La Palapa shrimp. Five large shrimp resting against mashed potato covered in a coconut and corn purée. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and I loved the purée. The atmosphere at La Palapa is definitely on the romantic side. Aside from the monkey chandeliers and the cockatoo lamps, which I loved, the restaurant has the right amount of lighting and the perfect music. That theme follows through to the beach. The service we received was excellent. We didn't feel rushed and the wait staff went out of their way to keep interruptions to a minimum. I feel bad because I realized I undertipped our waiter. An issue I intend to rectify today or tomorrow at the latest. Just a tip if you're paying by credit/debit card in Mexico. Ask that you be charged in Pesos. You'll get a better exchange rate from your bank.
google avatar

Kristine N.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this restaurant but it ended up being pretty disappointing :( Our beet salad appetizer wasn't anything I couldn't make at home. Our entrees took forever to come and when they did they were just okay. We were hungry so we ate it but nothing really stood out. The service was okay, the view was nice though and it's right on the beach Right after leaving and the next day, I had a lot of stomach discomfort.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
We made a reservation on Open table for 5ppl for 7:45pm. We had a table in the sand and they offer blankets once the sun goes down. We had a couple servers who helped us and they were all very nice and friendly. The location is great and the interior of the restaurant is elegant and beachy. We all really liked our appetizers and entrees and desserts. Would definitely recommend anybody visiting PV to go here at least one night! The hostess called us our taxi at the end of the night.
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
Spent 5 days and 4 nights in PV. The best dinner meal we had was at La Palapa. Beet salad was delicious as was the Coconut Shrimp and Lobster and Shrimp Taquitos. The Mole Enchiladas were ok. I've had better Mole in Arizona that I use as a benchmark thus only four stars. Ambiance and service were very good. Mariachi's singing at our table a bonus. Recommend this place on the Malecon.
google avatar

Nora W.

Yelp
Fantastic view on the beach and excellent service. We ordered the red snapper and the catch of the day and everything was fresh and delicious. It was a celebratory dinner and the impromptu band and the bad on stage added to the festive atmosphere, even though it was a Wednesday night. Great location for a special meal. The Maitre d' was kind and friendly. Perfect place.
google avatar

Dash R.

Yelp
The food and service is pretty great. However, New Years Eve dinner was a complete ripoff. $250 for one ravioli, a sliver of beef, small salad, and an ahi tuna steak (small) and open bar. Would NOT do this again for the cost.
google avatar

Mariana O.

Yelp
Was in the area and couldn't decide which location to have dinner at, boy am I glad I chose this one. Host were extremely nice and had the same matching dress, although we did not have a reservation they were still able to accommodate us. App we had was the coconut shrimp 15/10 it was so good, perfect crunch, good amount of sweetness. Honestly so good, you should get it! I had the Tilapia with mashed potatoes and asparagus, it was so good 10/10. We also tried the ravioli with salmon, so good. Must have! 10/10 The only reason as to why I'm giving this place a 4/5 is because we asked for a menu twice, but we got a drink menu, we didn't know who our server was, didn't check up on us until payment time and the guy hovered until it was highkey uncomfortable. Aside from that it was good and I would come again if in the area!
google avatar

Mirba E.

Yelp
We had a great lunch here. We had 3 kids with us and this seemed like a good choice for a bit more family friendly vibe than some of the other restaurants along the beach. The kids played in the sand while we dined on octopus tacos, grilled fish, ceviche, etc. My husband thought the margaritas were legit, everyone enjoyed the food but the standouts were the octopus tacos and the grilled fish. The fish had so many layers of flavors in the sauce, that was my clear favorite. Service was great and super friendly. It was a very nice time, though expect to be regularly interrupted by vendors. It felt like we had a live QVC in front of us lol.

Lana H.

Yelp
The ambiance is beautifu! And the Red Snapper and Cocunut Shrimp were delicious. You have your choice of table in the sand under palapas or inside the beautiful restauran. Service was great!
google avatar

Horacio H.

Yelp
Food and service are great ! Ivan was our server ! He was attentive and gave us food recommendations! The most important for me , food was hot ! We will come back ! Recommend! Love it !
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. A little overpriced, but I think you're also paying for the beach ambience here, which was fantastic at sunset! Would recommend for a fun dinner with friends, literally right on the sandy beach. Oh and the cocktails were very unique and delicious too. I had a couple of horchata martinis and they were fabulous.
google avatar

Stephen D.

Yelp
We loved this place so much that we went to dinner here twice in a row! From the beautiful views of the ocean and pier to the melt-in-your-mouth beef medallions, every part of this dining experience was perfection. They also had live music on one night that we were there which made for a lovely ambiance. Service, drinks, and prices were all fantastic for the value here and I already can't wait to visit this place the next time I'm in PV. Definitely recommend visiting this place for a date or special occasion as it truly makes for a memorable and delicious meal!
google avatar

Max K.

Yelp
Location is unique by the beach. You have options to sit indoor, on terrace or by the beach! There was live music on Saturday night! Band was friendly and made the ambient relaxed and romantic. It's mostly a seafood restaurant. Despite not many options but every taste is accommodated. Service was relatively quick and responsive perhaps depending on busy they are. It's a pricy place but could be justified by the location and atmosphere. Overall was a pleasant experience.
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit to this beautiful spot. On the beach. Service was attentive and friendly. We had beet salad, tortilla soup, chicken fajita, club sandwich and fish zarandeado with yummy margaritas. All tasted good and we enjoyed our beach views. Looking forward to coming back next time.
google avatar

Cass T.

Yelp
The attentiveness was exceptional with a smile. We had about 5-6 servers throughout our email for various tasks. Each specializes in their job assignment. The food is upscale. If you want a reprieve from a carbohydrate diet in a crowded location, this will provide the taste, ambiance, and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed mojitos with our email along with sparkling water.
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for brunch and dinner in PV! They have good seating, including beach seating. During brunch, you can order their Mimosa service, which is a bottle of champagne and different, multi-colored juices to mix it with. So much fun!
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Food was 7/10 Ambiance and view was 10/10 Service was 9/10 For two people, two drinks, two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts -$185 USD with Tip. Great view and place to visit
google avatar

Caroline G.

Yelp
Went here for my boyfriend's 40th birthday dinner. Posting this review a little delayed, so can't remember what we ordered outside of the cheesecake for dessert, which was delicious. That said, I do remember the meal being outstanding, but even better, as you can see from the photos, the VIEW at sunset is perfect. Also, the service on both occasions we were there was fantastic. I only gave 4 stars because when we came again at lunch, I was aghast at how bad the formerly perfect grilled octopus tacos were. You need to brine or sun dry the octopus before grilling so it's not so chewy....maybe that didn't happen because it was so incredibly chewy. I was devastated as I used to live in PV and would dream of ordering these. Now, sadly, I spit them out.
google avatar

Chenelle W.

Yelp
Located right off of the beach! I would eat inside because the hustlers will try to sell you things on the beach side. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Definitely a place to try
google avatar

Gregory C.

Yelp
Came here for lunch after a recommendation from a good friend--it was easy to make a reservation on OpenTable and you had a choice of inside or outside which the biggest difference is if you want to be on sand or tile. Upon check in, I was offered a wet hand towel and was brought to my seat--I started with a Serrano Margarita as well as sparkling Topo Chico water which is a Mexican owned company. The margarita was tasty, refreshing, and hit the spot. For my meal, I decided to order multiple starters--a beet salad and braised octopus. The beet salad was fresh, had nice texture and flavor. The octopus was tender and had potatoes and onions. Both were enough to fill me up that I couldn't do dessert. In terms of ambiance, they had light music and one thing to be mindful of is performers and vendors will come by (also anywhere you are on the beach). Overall, great experience, would come back and recommend to others!
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
We enjoy and go to La Palapa during the day to utilize their beach club services. We head down around noon, get our chairs and towels at the restaurant, and use their bathrooms to change. There is also a shower so you can rinse off before leaving and change back into your clothes. The service is better here than others Clubs. The food and drinks are solid. Don't be afraid to ask for something not on the menu my husband and I like to get shrimp nachos and they always accommodate us!
google avatar

Agnes N.

Yelp
Our first time to the Romantica area of puerto Vallarta and this place was so so wonderful for a hot afternoon lunch with friends. I started with a Paloma, coconut shrimp, guacamole, fajitas, shrimp tacos, seafood enchiladas and the beet salad - Everything was delicious just pick your favorite and you will not be disappointed. My fav was the coconut shrimp and beet salad and Paloma. Beautiful beach front fancy and impeccable service
google avatar

Stefanie C.

Yelp
We ate here breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also reserved the beach chairs here all day. I made a reservation here while I was at home and planning the trip based on reviews. I am SO glad I did, after our first visit you couldn't get us out of this location! The service is 5 star. The food was spectacular and the views are breathtaking. Alejandro was a dream and although every single person we came in contact with was great, he exceeded our expectations with the attention to detail and his amazing personality. Do your self a favor and rent the beach chairs here, you won't regret it. They do end chair rentals at 6 to prepare for dinner but you can move to a different location after easily. Just make the reservation, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
No quedamos decepcionados.

Yelp
La Palapa was our favorite restaurant in PV - we loved it so much we ate here 3 different times over the course of 5 days. Our first experience was brunch, and we were immediately sold on their MIMOSA service. We had a group so the server suggested we share a bottle for roughly 1,000 pesos vs a single mimosa for 300. For each mimosa they bring you a tray of fruit elixirs to choose from table side. We got to choose from grapefruit-aperol-basil, cranberry-pomegranate, citrus passion fruit, and limoncello orange blue curaco (if my memory serves me correctly). They brought out crystal flutes beachside, added a touch of our elixir of choice, then topped with high quality champagne. Might be the best mimosas I've ever had, and that's saying a lot! Our group tried a variety of delicious brunch dishes - chilaquiles, chorizo dishes with bean sauce, eggs ranchero, etc. everything was fresh, unique, and delicious! On top of amazing drinks and food, the location is right on the beach. You get to enjoy all of this with your toes in the sand! We returned for brunch again, then came back our last night for a group dinner on the beach. They set up a large table for us right on the edge of the ocean, surrounded by lanterns and tiki torches. We had a beautiful view of the sunset. Once it got darker they brought small lamps for the tables. The ambience was incredible. For dinner we enjoyed a few rounds of cocktails while the sun was setting. The cocktails were well thought out, not just your standard margaritas. Unique blends of tequila, mezcal, fresh fruit, and berries. Not too sweet but perfectly well balanced. For appetizers we tried the coconut shrimp, al pastor potstickers, and the tuna sashimi. The tuna was served with a unique blend of tomatoes, almonds, and herbs, I'm drooling just thinking about it. Everything was amazing. For dinner my husband and I ordered the fish of the day (red snapper) and the sea bass. The seabass had the most amazing sauce blend of lemongrass, butter, and perfection. I would highly recommend any meal at La Palapa and enjoy the beautiful beachfront setting!

Yelp
I feel like La palapa is a most go when you come to Puerto Vallarta it's have two menus for lunch and dinner. During the day their beach area is super fun and food is super delicious. Dinner is formal with a great live band , beautiful set up for bigger parties on the beach & food is delicious as well.Their service is exceptional and if you are a regular you are accommodated right away. I wish they had their Jaiba enchiladas during dinner . 10/10

Yelp
We loved this place so much that we came back twice during our vacation! We made reservations prior to our arrival in PV and when we arrived they had our chairs and towels setup along with a fan and tables. For a party of 5 we stayed for several hours and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it helped that the food was great, and the drinks and service were on point. They close at 4:00, but we were getting our feet massaged and they did not bother or rush us and we really appreciated that. The only annoying part was constant inundation by the local vendors for you to buy things. It made it kind of hard to just relax and enjoy the serenity of the ocean, so we just ignored them and did not respond. That helped...sort of. I would suggest getting a huge sign that says "No Gracias". Later in the evening, we dined at La Palapa for dinner and loved our meal! The setup was extremely lovely and again, the service was great. I would caution one thing...stick to local Mexican wines as the markup on wines from the states is exorbitant. Oh and try the chilean sea bass..it was like butter.
