"Nothing says “I’m not checking my email” like having breakfast at La Palapa near the Los Muerto Pier with your feet in the sand while drinking a piña colada. La Palapa is one of those restaurants that’s been around forever—you can actually see pictures of what Vallarta used to look like 70 years ago inside the restaurant.  Don’t miss staples like chilaquiles or huevos rancheros, the corn muffins that come with other freshly baked pastries, and the pancakes topped with caramelized banana, toasted nuts, mascarpone cheese, and Nutella. After breakfast, ask the staff to move your party to the sunbed camastros that are on the beach right in front of the restaurant where you can continue to drink your Bloody Mary, cold beer, and maybe even stay for lunch. This was legitimately a meal I would put in the top 10 I’ve ever had. Absolutely amazing flavor blends. Great drinks. Wonderful wait staff. Highly recommend. Atmosphere is delightful.

This place is the spot! If you are looking for incredible food and don’t mind the upper tier cost then this is IT. We went for lunch, liked it so much and went for dinner. The service is impeccable. We have about 3 people helping just the 3 of us at our table. Constant refills of our water (without asking with fresh ice constantly being brought over), servers speak great English, and the food preparation and presentation is top tier. I lived in many places, one being manhattan, and this is like one of the fancy places you’d go to but better in my opinion. The view is amazing. Live music. Any sort of special requests are always welcome and they just want to make sure you are happy and having a great time! I couldn’t ask for more. So happy I went here with my parents on their last night. Epic!!! Look at the photos and that should be enough for you to cave in a give it a go. Also, the special tonight was seared tuna, best I’ve ever had, was only cutting it with my fork, no knife needed!!! And sauces with all the other dishes were amazing. Try the coconut shrimp!!! Get the churros for dessert! You will not be disappointed!

This old fixture has been around for ages. Been coming here from time to time. One of the better places for a nice sunset dinner. The ambiance and view is good, the food is not as spectacular as the view, but safe and pretty decent. You can eat the classic fare here. Pretty good cocktails and wine selection.

Dinner on the beach 20 feet from the ocean breaking against the sand. Sunset front and center. Smooth relaxing voice of a crooner on stage. Great food. Prepared meticulously. Service very attentive (Thank you Mauricio! Wishing you continued success with your studies!). Fireworks to the south. Fireworks to the north. And fireworks on our table because it was our anniversary. I've traveled the world, and it just doesn't get any better than this. ********** 10 Stars!

Haven't even left my seat yet to write that the tuna sandwich was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The bread was soft, the sauce was amazing, and the tuna was super flavorful. Tempted to come back again tomorrow just for that. Coconut shrimp also plump and very hearty. Very good. A little bit more pricey than places away from the beach but service was good and the beach views were nice.

So i have mixed feelings about this place, i went here a bit ago so I can't remember the exact name of what I ordered but I can assure you it's delicious. It's an open concept dining experience, we were actually seated on the sand, closer to the water with an awesome view. The reason I didn't come back to this place is there were a couple of things I didn't like; the portions were kind of small in reference to price. For my first meal of the day i felt like my entree was a little larger than appetizer size even though I've actually had appetizers larger than this entree. They had good mimosas that they let you try the flavoring before adding which I liked. I don't like restaurants working under the guise with hidden fees. There was a gentleman walking around with little donuts or pastries if you will, when they offered they definitely didn't mention that the pastries were like $4 or $5 USD a pop. Since he brought it over and they were so little I assumed they were complimentary. My fiancé and I didn't like that, had I known I wouldn't of grabbed it because as I said, it was small and not that great in flavor. The food and staff were good, I'd just like fair portions and full disclosure on what they are charging for instead of sneaky adds like that.

We decided to spend our day on the beach relaxing at La Palapa. We had a delicious breakfast including mimosas and more food followed by several delicious drinks during lunch. The service here was simply amazing! Please visit if you’re in the area..

The tuna tataki appetizer was the best seared tuna I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend. For the entree we had the local fish fillet which was also delicious over a pile of cheesy garlic rice. The meal may look small but it was super filling! Tons of seating on the beach with beautiful view of the pier. Service was amazing here. Food came out in a timely manner and waiters were always available to come check in with us. This restaurant definitely isn’t a cheap or causal one. If you’re looking for a very nice sit down experience with beautiful views and delicious food, definitely come here!
