La Palma PDX

Cute little neighborhood spot. Super friendly and helpful staff. Lots of great (and dog friendly) outdoor seating - they even brought out a water bowl for our pup. Great drink menu. Tacos with corn tortillas and are the larger 6” size. They seemed to have a decent happy hour as well. We got there after 6pm so didn’t get to take advantage, but they definitely have HH options.

The tacos are amazing!! They serve up each taco on a thick handmade tortilla. La Palma has the best ceviche I've ever tasted ✨️

Went with a girl friend, and we had the BEST time. I felt like we were picked up and dropped off in la la land. Ceviche was delicious as were the drinks - even the mocktails were spot on. Will definitely be back!

Neat spot that replaced Journeys that appears to have an excellent bar that does not allow minors. I think this is a bit of a miss as many folks in the village have young families, though it sounds like a survey of the previous customers of Journeys outweighed broader market outreach. Regardless, we gave this a try as the service was exceptionally friendly and thoughtful so we put together a to-go order. The portions were generously sized for the tacos if a little tasteless and the protein a little tough - we had the chicken, carnitas, and pescado. We added guac to the chips/salsa for $2 and started laughing when we got home and saw how tiny the container was. Between the taste of the tacos, the unfortunate pricing/value of the guacamole, and the missed opportunity to be more welcoming to families, we won't be coming back to this spot until it's a bit more established. With other PDX restaurants with excellent SW fare and drinks, La Palma has some work to do in order to be considered a potential staple of Multnomah Village.

La Palma was a delightful find. It's small and can be a bit loud and tight inside (or cold and wet outside unless there's a fire going). They don't offer an extensive Mexican menu but you probably won't find better tacos in town. Their signature cocktails menu is impressive, including a thoughtful selection of non-alcoholic "mocktails." They were quite busy on a Tuesday night but food was delivered quickly and the staff never failed to ask if they could do or bring anything more to make our visit better. Everyone at our table raved about their tacos, so I don't think there's a bad choice, but I'll shout out for their camarones (shrimp) taco. All tacos are $5 each, or the smaller "street tacos" on the happy hour menu are $2 or $3 each. With only five different tacos on the menu (one is vegetarian) it would be easy to try everything they offer in one visit. Their chips, salsa and guac were very good as well. I felt La Palma had a great vibe and think it would be easy to make them a regular stop.

We love this place!!! They seemed to have worked out the kinks with serving and food order mistakes, which is awesome! We’ve loved everything we’ve tried here and their margaritas are so good! I know some don’t appreciate the fact that they don’t allow kids, but everyone I know (including myself- a mom), appreciate having a place that’s not overrun with kids and we don’t have to compete with iPads and screams. There are plenty of options for families around here. Thanks for giving us a grownup dinner spot!

Excellent margaritas, quesadillas and chicken nachos! Always friendly service. Kinda want to keep it a secret, but the best Taco Tuesdays spot! Thank you for brightening up Multnomah Village. Xoxo
