The Best Panaderías & Pan Dulce Shops in LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"A visit to La Panadería Michoacana in South Central can go several ways. Want pressed juices, Mexican popsicles, or café de olla? They have it. Are you in need of a three-layered Barbie Beach House-themed birthday cake for your niece, who occasionally likes you? Done. But the main reason to stop by this panadería is their tres leches, one of our favorites in LA. It's more milk than lechera, and even better the next day if you manage to save some. La Panadería Michoacana - Review - Historic South Central - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"La Panadería Michoacana is one of those shops with so many things going on that you end up walking out with a bit of everything. If you want pressed juices, Mexican popsicles, or even a homemade café de olla, they have it. In need of a three-layered Barbie Beach House-themed birthday cake for your niece that occasionally likes you? Done. But the main reason to stop by this South Central spot is still their excellent bakery that makes delicious pan dulce and one of our favorite tres leches in the city - it comes very moist, never too sweet, and tastes even better the next day if you can manage to wait. Don’t forget to also grab a soft rebanada de mantequilla, a classic pastry that resembles a slice of bread with thick butter and sugar on top. We love the flaky orejas as well, which come glossy from the dough’s sugar caramelizing in the oven." - Sylvio Martins

Normally they do amazing work but this time they really let me down. Looks like they wrote this with their toes respectfully. The drip looks bad.

I was in the area for work and took a chance on the bakery for a late lunch. Luckily, they have tortas, tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. The staff were friendly. I had the chicken torta, my friend the carne asada tacos. Both were really tasty, and the portion size is generous. They also have a homemade hot sauce that was excellent. Prices are reasonable for the quality. The place is clean, and they have a covered patio. Unfortunately, I did not try any of the bakery goods, but they looked really good... I was too full from the torta. Would definitely return when in the area, and try something else.

This place has pretty good Mexican breads but every time I come in, I get charged a different price depending on who's at the cashier. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Might not come back. Buyers beware!

I am a descendant from Michoacan, Mexico. And, I have been looking for a Panaderia close to me. The location I use to go to in Inglewood, close down their panes were delicious. I search on Google and came across this location. I went and a little disappointed to see this location was a "B" Grade. I was already there so I entered to check out the place. The place wasn't busy for a Saturday morning which was a hint. When I inquired about the different flavors of the empanadas. The young woman attendant seemed to have an attitude. There are no price labels to know how much each pan or empanada cost. And, when I selected a few panes and empanadas, and took them to the counter. The young woman attendant was adding up the cost in her head. In total, this experience was not worth my visit. I will not be visiting this location again. 👎

Hidden place in Boyle Hights full of authentic Mexican munchies. It's like a cool mini marker with a little bit of fresh vegetables Mexican sweet bread drinks and my favorite mini burritos. Practical place reasonable prices. Certified location.

I live nearby and constantly go but today for the first time I was told my dog, who is a legit medical alert dog was not welcomed because they would be shut down by the authorities. one of the girls sweeping told me this. I know it’s a lie, I didn’t want to cause a scene so I just left after I already made an order. I will never be returning here. I actually used to come here a lot to support local brown businesses, the owner is a very sweet man, but never again will they get my support. I will also be telling my friends and family who also stay in the area not to come here.

Yelp
The 3 leches cake is good, but my only complaint is that the owner the lady. Always gives me random prices in the cake. I bought a 2 layer cake with decorations in May I paid $60. In July I got the same thing for $65. Now today she was charging me $120. I told her that I have been coming here for a while since it was Lulu's bakery and that I never paid that before. She kept telling me she charged that. This past 2 months I placed the order with her. I'll go back to coppelias bakery in Culver City. 3 leches cake are good too and cheaper than $120

Yelp

Yelp
I heard about this place being good so I decided to try it. I went to buy a cake for my sisters bday and they gave me a cake from the freezer of tres leches and when we had to eat it that day the cake was bad like they've had it for days. I should've bought the cake at Ralph's. Don't recommend. The prices were ok.

Yelp
Me and my kids like to come and have a little sit down, drink some hot chocolate or coffee. There's a little of everything in here and the bread is super fresh and delicious. Love there banana and strawberry milk shake with a hint of honey. Sitting here and just watching the sunset is awesome. If you ever pass by maple street and Adams you should definitely come in and try out either there sweet bread with there café de la olla or some of there tortas, pupusas, or what ever you're craving that you find oh and the cakes are super good as well

Yelp
I love the conchita from this place but customer service was not great. I asked for something and maybe because it was before 6 am the cashier with an attitude said to get it my self so I did. That was my first time there but I will continue to stop for the conchitas.

Yelp
Great customer service. Their tres leches cake is really good. I was getting one for my sister's 21st Birthday and they actually have cakes with alcohol, so that was amazing. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
If I could give a -0 star That would be exactly what they deserve! Bought a tres leches cake today and it was NASTY the bread was hard and dry! the frosting was disgusting and it tasted like any regular frosting!!! we used to buy cakes from there when it was called lulus but I guess they changed owners ! I'm never going back cake was $23.00 it was so not worth the money and my time ..don't go here .

Yelp
I usually come in to just get some food something quick to eat. They customer service is good, and so is the food. My ONLY complaint is that they don't give me enough food. They don't fill the platters up and I find myself still hungry after paying for their platters. I even decided to go up a size and realized that it was pretty much the same amount of food as the smaller size.

Yelp
I love the food ! Everything is freshly made pastries, juices and cakes. The Mexican food here is fire and customer service is excellent!

Yelp
Their tres leches cake is seriously amazing! So much flavor yet not too sweet. It's just right! I would highly recommend buying your cakes here if u love tres leches like me. The cake decor is very simple and I'm not sure if they do special orders but the cake is worth it. Also they make oatmeal which u can order for breakfast or homemade sandwiches ready to go for a $1. The sandwich was very fresh and delicious its a great choice if you're in a hurry and need to grab a quick snack. Although they may only be available mornings. This morning I stopped by for a green juice and it was very good too. It was only $5. Photo attached! Great place. The neighborhood, well it's south central l.a but its not bad at all. :)
