What To Eat

"Two Taiwanese mums have revived the old name of their first bento shop. The menu is now bigger, but the food is just as good and the service just as warm and homely. Egg crepe roll is made with ingredients imported from Taiwan and the beef shin in the noodle soup is braised for more than five hours in a spiced broth. Bento rice boxes at lunch make for a balanced meal, while the Taiwanese snacks at dinner are definitely worth trying." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent Argentine steakhouse in Central! Tried their set lunch with steak tartare and empanada for starters - both delicious. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful, while the dry aged beef burger was juicy and well-seasoned. The garlic fries and roasted brussels sprouts made great sides. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and good value. Highly recommended for meat lovers!

Highly recommend La Parrilla Steakhouse in Central for a delicious Argentinian lunch. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable seating and great views. The lunch sets are reasonably priced, starting at $218. I enjoyed the flavorful Steak Tarte and the perfectly cooked Milanesa, a crispy yet tender breaded cutlet topped with fresh ingredients. The garlic herb fries were a highlight. My colleague loved the creamy pumpkin soup and the fresh fish with flavorful Rustic Ratatouille. Excellent food, comfortable setting, and great service make this a worthwhile visit.

The restaurant is a hidden gem with a wonderfully chill vibe that makes every visit a pleasure. We can seat nearby the window and watch the historical building. The inviting ambiance is perfect for unwinding, and the polite, attentive service from the waitstaff makes us feel truly valued. We chose the lunch set menu, which is impressively affordable given the quality of the dishes. The price is around HKD$230 to $400 includes the appetizer, main, sides and drinks. The steak tartare and fugazetta empanada are delightful starters; the tartare is velvety and rich, with a tantalizing aroma that hints at its freshness. The empanada is flaky and golden, bursting with savory goodness. The catch of the day is succulent, complemented by the earthy aroma of roasted Brussels sprouts, while the Argentinian T-bone, tender and juicy, pairs perfectly with the creamy, truffle-infused garlic mash. It is around 500g! We can finish it within half hour and full. The portions for each dish are generous enough to leave you feeling fully satisfied. It is an excellence lunch experience.

My boyfriend found a hidden gem steakhouse! Nestled in the bustling heart of Central, La Parrilla steakhouse is a true gem for both casual gatherings and romantic dinners. Its convenient location makes it easily accessible, yet the ambiance inside provides a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The menu boasts an impressive array of choices, catering to a variety of tastes. To start, we enjoyed the daily soup. The sweetness of the tomatoes was complemented by herbs, making it a perfect opener for the meal. For the main, we opted for the ribeye steak cooked to a perfect medium. Made from one month aged grass fed beef, it arrived beautifully seared, with a rich, juicy flavor that melted in my mouth. The marbling of fat throughout the steak added a luxurious texture, making each bite a delight. Alongside the steak, I tried the langostino pasta, which was a delightful surprise. The pasta was perfectly al dente. It was a dish that stood out for its freshness and flavor. The creamed spinach was another highlight, adding a delightful creaminess that paired wonderfully with the steak. Rich and flavorful, it was a side dish that elevated the entire dining experience. Additionally, complimentary bread with butter was served, which was a lovely touch. The bread was fresh, warm, and perfect for soaking up any remaining sauce from the steak and pasta. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience with their helpfulness and warmth. Their recommendations were spot on, ensuring a meal that was both satisfying and memorable. Overall, I would highly recommend this La Parrilla steakhouse to friends and family. Whether you're looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a good meal, this restaurant offers quality food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a prime location. It's a perfect spot for both gatherings and romantic dinners, making it a must-visit in Central:)

The starters arrived as a powerful duo. The Wild Prawn Ceviche was —incredibly fresh, with a bright, zingy citrus marinade that perfectly cut through the richness of the sweet, tender prawns. A hint of chilli provided a gentle, lingering heat that awakened the senses. Bone Marrow was the epitome of luxurious simplicity. Scooped onto crusty bread and sprinkled with sea salt, its rich, buttery, and intensely savoury flavour was pure, unadulterated indulgence. For the main, Steak was the undeniable star. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, it was remarkably flavourful and tender, with a beautiful char from the grill that added a smoky depth. The Grilled Octopus was another testament to the kitchen's skill. Far from rubbery, it was tender and delicately smoky, with a slight crispness on the exterior. Creamed Spinach that was sublime, rich, and perfectly seasoned.

If you’re a steak enthusiast, La Parrilla Steakhouse is definitely worth a try. One standout starter is the bone marrow with herbs and garlic—an absolute must-try. It takes around twenty minutes to prepare, but it’s well worth the wait. The rich, beefy flavor of the marrow, paired with the crispy garlic bread, creates a decadent and satisfying combination that’s hard to beat. We also tried the grilled octopus salad, which was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The octopus was tender with just the right amount of char, and it paired well with the fresh greens and light citrus dressing, offering a refreshing contrast to the heavier starters and mains. For the main course, the ribeye steak was the star of the show. Cooked to perfection with a juicy, smoky finish, it had a wonderful crust on the outside while remaining tender and flavorful inside. The seasoning was simple but effective, allowing the natural flavors of the beef to shine through. The langostino pasta was another highlight. Generous portions of Argentinian pink tartare were tossed with al dente pasta. Every bite was indulgent without being too heavy. Overall, La Parrilla offers a solid menu with high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. The cozy yet elegant atmosphere adds to the dining experience, making it a great spot for a date night or a relaxed evening with friends.

The hanger steak was packed with beefy flavor. It had a satisfying chew without being tough, and every bite was juicy and rich. The ambiance was classic and cozy, with warm lighting and elegant decor. Despite being busy, the staff were attentive and courteous, regularly changing plates and checking in with a smile.

📍 Overall Impression Visited La Parrilla Steakhouse in Central for lunch today. The restaurant offers a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere with a focus on grilled meats and Argentine-inspired dishes. The lunch menu is well-priced for the area, and the portions are satisfying. 🍽️ Meal 1: Steak Tartare + Grilled Spatchcock Chicken + Garlic Skinny Fries -Steak Tartare: Finely minced high-quality beef, seasoned with capers, onions, and a hint of mustard. Yelp
I very rarely get a steak in HK so the bar is set pretty high experience wise. I came for my birthday and I wasn't disappointed with the filet I got. A few places I've been in Asia usually aren't willing to cook a steak or anything else for that matter, than medium. While I was afraid that it would be the case here I was glad to hear my call for medium rare, then just 'rare' was taken without a blink. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender, moist and even though they brought out a few sauces but honestly they're not needed. While steak is obviously the centerpiece of a good steak house, the sides shouldn't be neglected. The creamed spinach was really good. I'd definitely recommend it and I usually don't like creamed vegetables.

Yelp
I have the honour to pre celebrate an important person's birthday today. Food ordered: - Shrimps and Scallops - sauté mushrooms - rib-eye steak Shrimps and Scallops (score:4.5/5) I was surprised that this is a cold dish or I have not read the menu properly. My impression of this dish is like a salad. The sauce tastes like lemon and yet on the sweet side. That probably gives me a sense of salad feel dish, especially it's a cold dish. Sauté Mushrooms (score:5/5) Although this is a simple dish, the taste is extraordinary! I could not stop from having more. Rib Eye Steak (score:4/5) This dish was too big for one person. I guess it's rare to say that in Hong Kong. But it's really big. The steak was asked to cook in medium and the chef has done the job aright! The meat was tendered and the middle was pink. A nice restaurant to dine at.

Yelp
A truly excellent experience. We walked in without a reservation on Saturday night at 7:30, and they found a table for us. What followed was a great meal and great service every step of the way. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye, my wife got the 8 oz filet. They started us out with a perfect crusty bread basket. Then the fire-grilled steaks followed. I'm very particular about my steak- I like medium rare with a nice char. It's an invitation to an overcooked meal, but the chef was masterful. Combine that perfect steak with perfect skinny fries and a cauldron of tasty creamed corn and you have yourself a top notch meal in a city with endless choices. The service met the high bar set by the food. The hostess, waitress and server were all friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Tango!

Yelp
How shall I put the words together to describe Tango? First of all, I'm going to start out by saying that so far, it's my favorite steak restaurant in Hong Kong. The steaks are delectable, the service is great, and the wine is divine. Tango is located up the hill and around the corner from the busy bars in Lan Kwai Fung. The atmosphere feels homey, and I always feel like tables are pretty private. My favorite way to start here is with the empanadas. They are moist and flavorful on the inside and a bit crispy on the outside. The steaks are cooked to perfection. I've had the sirloin, rib eye and filet. They are all served on a wooden cutting board and accompanied by six sauces. The chimichurri sauce is my favorite, closely followed by the grained mustard. There's something here for everyone to complement their steak. Now on to the desserts. Being the dessert person that I am, I've had about 5 desserts from the dessert menu here. They were all good, but I'm a cheesecake fan, so I would definitely suggest the goat's cheese cheesecake. No, it doesn't taste like goats cheese. It's rich, creamy, and served with half of a delicious poached pear. My next favorite is the colpa melba. This is served with biscotti, ice cream and dulce de leche. I want to stress that all of the desserts at this restaurant are good. If you go with a big group, order multiple and share. Tango is a well-established restaurant with flavorful that will do well for many years to come. Go get yourself a steak! **I suggest that everyone go home with a jar of their homemade dulce de leche.

Yelp
Great steakhouse! I went there on my birthday in last October 2017 and feel that I need to write a good review for this place. We love the steak, the bread and all the sauces four kinds to choose and enjoy! The service was great, polite and friendly. The place was nice decoration and I love that it's not noisy and crowded seat. I can relax and enjoy my steak. Definitely, I will be back there again!

Yelp
Wow, I came to Hong Kong from the U.S. and was recommended this restaurant. I was very satisfied with everything about it. My sister and I enjoyed the burger the most. It was cooked to perfection. Props to the chef for being so talented to cook right in front of the crowd. You can see the passion of the chef from every last bite! I strongly recommend Tango for their burger and the Calamari salad was another favorite! Best of luck to Tango!

Yelp
I have been a fan of tango for the last year and a half. Have visited the place at least 5 times. But my last visit was an absolute disappointment. I visited the place with my family, after raving to them what a great place tango was. We arrived early, on a week day. And were seated on one of the balcony tables. They were playing some rock in Spanish but the sound keep blaring at times and then would go low again. Also, the music was some really obscure tunes and the playlist kept repeating. Very annoying! Now to the beef. My wife's sirloin was awful. Not tender and over cooked. My daughter's steak was also tough. Service was also awful. I got the impression that we were not welcomed because we brought our grown children, 17 and 11 years old. The manager stopped at every table and spent time will all the patrons around us but did not stopped at our table. For the quality of the steaks and the service, this pace is definitely over-priced. By the way they charged us for everything, I mean everything bread, water, etc. Would not go back. There are plenty of better steak houses in HK that offer much better value for your money. Gave it a 2 star since my 1000hkd steak was acceptable.

Yelp
Either you are massively indulgent and patient and you will like it. Or you just will be massively annoyed by the service just too overwhelmed by the crowd. Never never try to get a seat without a reservation. Be prepared to wait and live the "sorry you will have to wait more than reasonable" experience. And then you will remember that this place is a restaurant where you were supposed to enjoy food. Food? What food? Oh the bill is already there. Because you have to leave and let your table to the next ones. Your steward is sorry. You are sorry . You pay. That's the deal. You can lie to yourself. Then you decide not to come back. You are at peace with yourself. You feel much better.

Qiming Z.

Yelp
This is a very nice restaurant specialized in Steak. The steak dishes are excellent and dining environment is very nice. Not a cheap place but if you want to have a memorable dining experience, it is worth every penny that you spend. Recommend dish: 1kg T bone steak.

Yelp
As an Argentine steak fan, I would say, this is a great steakhouse. For me, it's the best steakhouse in Asia so far. The meat is just Argentine, grilled with charcoal. If you are a steak fan and are in Hong Kong, just go there and have a Bife de Chorizo! I recommend that you order it rare.

Yelp
Exellent value for money. Great steaks. Cooked to perfection. The salad was also top class. Will definitely recommend this steak house to my friends.
