Where to Eat Comforting, Cheese-Stuffed Pupusas in DFW | Eater Dallas

"For some of the best pupusas in Dallas, go to Taqueria La Pasadita. Arrive with patience and cash, because Pasadita doesn’t accept credit cards, and a small lot plus out-the-door crowds make parking a challenge. Fortunately, the food is always worth the wait. Here, watch staff chop fresh cabbage for curdito while another employee mans the sizzling griddle packed with cheese, bean, and pork-stuffed pupusas." - W. Trace Miller

I love Honduran food and it always brings back memories to when I actually lived and visited Honduras. The Pollo Con Tajadas is a favorite of mine along with the unforgettable Baleadas, now who can ever go wrong with that combination. The highlight for my family was this horseman / Cowboy that happened to stop by to say Hello. His horse was beautiful. They were filming a commercial for the neighbor Barbershop.

The food here is Delicious! If You're not familiarized with Honduran food, You must visit. Their Pollo frito con Tajadas is The Best! I Also Tried their Platanos Maduros, and the Food Dissolved in My Mouth!! My folks had a taste of the Tacos Hondurenos, and they Loved it. The Size of the tacos were bigger thennit seemed on the picture. As Far as Their service the Lady was attentive and We did wait long for our food to come tonour table.

Google
They take forever to make your food. I made an order over the phone they told me it'd be ready in 20minutes i got there 30 minutes later and they still made me wait another 30 minutes for 4 baleadas which is literally just a flour tortilla with beans. I would recommend coming with an expectation of at least 1 hour of wait for your food.

Finally got the pleasure to eat super famous "Balaceada" plate (I used a big phone beside the plate just to reference) It's good for the price. Nice place, pretty big I guess. But there is some opportunity areas to improve your service. Thank you!

Yelp
I love this place, their baleadas are my absolute favorite, but they have other great items on the menu. They have lots of central american grocery items as well, and a comfortable, quiet, spacious indoor dining area. Usually soccer games are playing on the TVs

Yelp
I found them on Uber Eats and decided to get them Delivered. The soup spilled in the bag, but overall, it made it and tasted pretty good, but the pieces were so big that I had to cut to make smaller pieces of the corn and meat. The tamarind natural juice was sour, and I was not fond of it. The pastelitos were very soft on the inside, but overall it was tasty This review is based on what I got delivered to eat and not on the service at the restaurant or the ambiance. I would like to try them again in the restaurant the broth wasn't very flavorful for the soup but it was just okay

Yelp
Sometimes it's a hit or miss when it comes to delivery my food arrived cold but I'm sure I'm person it's perfect! The taste and flavor is there 100% try it!

Yelp
The food is always delicious and fresh. They take quality time with the food and make sure it's out in a normal amount of time! Customer service is amazing the waiters are extremely sweet. I recommend the platano maduro and las baliadas.

Yelp
I always come here for my tajadas and they were so great. Lately, though, they've been very thin and very crispy. I always call ahead to place my order and when I told the caller about my past experience, she said that it was my fault they were dry and crunchy because I picked them up late. When I arrived to pick up my new order, I heard the lady talk to the kitchen about my order. She was very loud and they kept on laughing because I asked for fresh tajadas. Eran mejor antes.

Yelp
They have mora a juice I have only been able to find in Costa Rica and for that they merit a 5 star rating and the food is good for what it is and cheap.

Yelp
My rating is based on just service. Because I didn't get to order food. I came after looking up lunch places around work and they had 220+ rating on google maps. I decided to try out and when I got there. There were no employees to greet me or even let me know to stand or choose my sitting. I was there for a good four minutes before I saw my first employee. I'm assuming she's the only one working in the front. She had to check out various tables. So I figured there'd be someone else helping her. So I just stay out in a table I sat. Another three minutes passed and she moved slowly and I didn't see anyone else. Kept waited At that point I have been there for ten minutes with only seeing one employee. The guests that were there were either eating or had finished eating. I wish I had seen the reviews prior in how it takes a lot of time to order and get food. I was on my lunch break and already spent over ten minutes waiting for a menu and drink order taken. Definitely need a second person helping out or at least a fire under the waitress/cashier/cook So I left. I went up the street to the Peruvian place. Arrives and immediately got seated, and they also have just one worker, but managed to get order taken in less than five minutes of arriving.

Yelp
Food was not great. We had the baleadas (quesadillas) and they really cheat you on the meat and avocado there was little to none in it. Also the service was very poor and they are very stingy with the chips and dip. The food took 30 minutes to come out!! It was a slow day and the food still took forever!! How is that possible!! Don't come here if you are really hungry or in a hurry. You will have to wait!

Yelp
We were the only ones there on a Saturday night. Our food still took about an hour to come out. My kids got baleadas, they didn't put "mantequilla" aka "crema" on them. I ordered pollo con tajadas, but I got tajadas with curtido and 2 bits of chicken in it. My husband had the carne asada plate, he didn't finish eating it, it was too salty. I was really dissapointed with this place. Since its the closest Honduran restaurant to me. I would much rather drive to El Catrachito in Dallas with great food, service and prices.

Yelp
red hair girl was very unprofessional had us waiting for 30 minutes just for our drinks and never took our order

Yelp
I was a loyal client of this place. And even though their service is really bad I kept ordering for takeout or DoorDash. Well today they called me to inform that the food I ordered wasn't available so I told them to cancel and the lady answered super rude saying "oh we are not able to cancel you can just switch for something else" i explained that I didn't want to change my ordered because I didn't want something else, again super rude she said I can't cancel you must pick another thing from our menu. I get it she didn't want to lose the money but how can you force a client to eat something else? If the food it is not available the issue it's on the restaurant not the client Luckily my DoorDash was super helpful and was able to cancel the order on its end. Instead of trying to lose some money they just lost a client! Bye!

Marcella M.

Yelp
Service was extremely poor, she wasn't polite whatsoever! The soda wasn't even on point it didn't have much flavor, the food wasn't as bad' but I drove 30 mins to find out they didn't even have the "Taco Flauta Hondureña" that I was looking forward to, so I just got a "Baleada" (which wasn't bad) but didn't have "crema" but I don't think I will be coming back

Yelp
I teach high school in Irving in the most diverse zip code in the U.S. I also regularly tell my students they can buy my love with ethnic food. So one day, a senior showed up at my classroom door with a baleada and a banana soda from here. I'd never had Honduran food before, and I've never tasted anything like it. Sometimes I dream about it. It was that good.

Yelp
We're from Chicago, IL...I was in TX last week visiting my brother. My husband being from Honduras searched on Yelp for Honduran food. We found this small joint and decided to check it out. When we arrived, there was only 1 car in the parking lot so I thought the food mustn't be so great I was so very wrong! As an appetizer they serve fried beans with tortilla chips. We finished it in 60 seconds and they brought us more. I ordered the juicy and perfectly cooked carne asada (steak) with fried plantains and it comes with fried beans, rice, salad, and a slice of cheese. To drink I ordered an horchata (rice milk) that was so tasty and refreshing . My husband ordered the same dish as me but ordered the fried green bananas instead (delicious!) with a banana soda. My son ordered a baleada which is the typical street food in Honduras. It's a HUGE folded flour tortilla with fried beans, cheese, and Honduran sour cream. You can also add scrambled eggs, avocado, or meat as well. He added scrambled eggs and loved it! you can ask for the sour cream on the side so you can taste it because it has a different flavor than regular sour cream. My brother ordered the friend plantains with ground beef and cabbage on top, squeeze lime juice on it and WOW! (Mouth watering). My sister in law ordered the 3 chicken flautas dinner, those fried tacos were huge and this was their first time trying out Honduran food and they were very impressed with the flavors. The prices are reasonable. The server was very nice and friendly we told her to thank the cook (Erica) for such a delicious dinner. We've visited a couple of Honduran restaurants in Chicago but none have even come close to this one. We had to go back on our last day in TX It was really that good! Oh and by the way, the restaurant filled up pretty quickly on both days we were there. My brother said he will definitely be going back for more. Lucky guy!

Yelp
Food is great... be patient since food can take about 30 min to Come. Soup is delicious with great flavor ... The restaurant is not fancy but you can call ahead of time and order for pick up. Weekends are a bit crowded but come prepare to watch soccer games ... overall the place is decent to satisfy your food craving
