I dined at La Patagonia Argentina during my recent visit to Miami. I knew that I wanted to get a parrillada for myself. Skirt steak, short ribs, flap meat, and sausage for $15.95? What a steal.
Well, the times sure are a-changing. The parrillada costs $20.95 now. I still ordered without much further thought. It went from a total steal to a reasonable deal.
The food ranged from great to decent. I'm probably just not a fan of blood sausage, but everything else was delicious. I was traveling, and it was a long walk back to the hotel, so I had to eat everything. The family of five next to me looked on in horror, as they split a parrillada among themselves. They must've thought I hadn't eaten in days. Jokes on them, I hadn't eaten since lunch.
Service was fine for the most part. One of the servers doesn't speak much English. This, of course, isn't a problem. Most people in Miami probably at least speak Spanglish. Sadly, I asked this server for hot sauce. She pretended like she understood, and then proceeded to ignore me. I don't know why she couldn't have simply told me she didn't understand or asked her coworker who spoke English to help me.
I had a good meal at La Patagonia Argentina, and I'd certainly consider dining again if I'm ever near Miami Airport.
