14 Best Bakeries in San Jose and the South Bay Area | Eater SF

"European-inspired bakery La Patisserie takes cake seriously. The shop offers a slew of daily menu items such as green tea cheesecake and tres leches — but for those who want to order one for a special occasion, there are more than 132 ways to customize cakes by sweetness and flavor. Since opening 16 years ago, the family-owned bakery has become well-known for its burnt almond cake, which incorporates an Amaretto custard filling, and guava cake. The individual-sized desserts are a popular option, along with the tiramisu, passionberry cake, hazelnut bliss cake, and Persian Napoleon." - Cathy Park

I bought a cheesecake on 5/21/25. The strawberry on top didn’t look fresh, but I was okay with that. When I took it off, I thought I saw chocolate powder—but it turned out to be dirt. Lost my appetite.

I ordered a custom cake for my fiancé's birthday and it came out amazing! There seemed to be room for improvement in regards to their system and how they organize their orders though. I called and they couldn't find my order at first by my name. It was located after the cake description was confirmed. Same thing happened to someone waiting to pick up her order right before me in line. They found it eventually but just wanted to note. I ordered about 2 months ahead, paid and confirmed pick up time. All went smooth! They showed me the cake and helped bring it out to my car since the box was really big. The cake was delicious, chocolate with strawberry mouse and the fondant was not too thick, which I really appreciated. They really did a wonderful job. It looked like the picture I had sent them. Thank you so much, my fiance loved it!

Google
Delicious cakes! I ordered burnt almond, tiramisu, guava and they’re all very good. My favorite bakery in Bay Area. Great customer service! All the cakes look very good.

Google
I wanted to order a simple yet delicious birthday cake for my child’s birthday. I emailed the team with some customization requests, and they were incredibly responsive and helpful. They even provided me with a list of ingredients, which made it easy for me to choose a cake that was both alcohol- and gelatin-free. I ended up ordering a vanilla cake with mango filling and buttercream icing. It was absolutely delicious, and everyone loved it! I really appreciated how accommodating and thoughtful they were throughout the process. Highly recommended!

Google
One of the top patisseries in South Bay and Cupertino! Their made-to-order vanilla sponge cake with custard, mango filling, and whipped cream icing is a must-try.

Google
We ordered our son’s first birthday cake from here and had a great experience. The ordering process is very detailed which makes it easy to explain the different aspects of the flavour and the decorations on the cake. If you’re ordering buttercream icing, note that the cake can have a very generous layer of it (it was upto 1-2 inches on ours). This makes the cake dramatically sweeter and we wish we knew it before we ordered. So, if you’re not a fan of it, would be worth checking with the team beforehand. We had also ordered bear shaped butter cookies as party favours and loved how they turned out. We had given them just a picture and they did an amazing job with it! We’ve also had other pastries and they have a great selection of French pastries.

Google
Got slice of tiramisu (many bakery only sell tiramisu cake not actual tiramisu) it’s pretty good 😊

Google
This bakery was neat, well &lit, clean, and inviting. The selection was all yummy and the lady behind the counter was pleasant. It may seem trivial but I always remove a star if cleaning supplies are left within customer view. In this case, the wet floor sign on the dry floor hurts the look. I would use this bakery again as it was impressive.

Yelp
Super yummy! Needed dessert for our 4th of July bbq and thought we would get it from here..... Boy were we happy with our decision! We got the Burnt Almond Cake and it is to "Die for!" Imagine a cake with a white and chocolate layer with an almond cream pudding like interior covered with a delicious frosting littered with candied sliced almonds all over it It was SO delicious that words cannot describe what your mouth will be experiencing with each yummy bite! Get the cake if you are ever near here, actually get the cake even if you're not near here. It is AWESOMELY delicious! My next cake to try will be all of them! Actually the guava cake looks sumptuously delicious! We will be back soon!

Yelp
Burnt almond cake (our friend's favorite) was a great hit for a bridal shower! Ordering on the online form was easy and accurate. Pickup was a little hectic in store, but all the details were on time and correct. Tip: Confirmation email went to spam in case you can't find it. 8 inch size ($65) fed our party of 12+ people. And the chocolate heart ($4) included beautiful writing for our "Bride to Be". Have had better cakes but definitely a quality cake that's not too sweet for Asian tastes.

Yelp
This is my favorite bakery for burnt almond cake and guava cake. The cake is always flavorful and moist. Recently, I ordered a guava cake and when I removed it from the box, I noticed there was tape on the bottom of the cake board which I appreciated. The tape prevented the cake from sliding all over in the box which usually messes up the sides. Whenever I get a cake for special occasions from here, I usually get asked where it's from. Looking forward to eating another cake from here in the future.

Yelp
I have not tried anything here except the guava cake but it is really good and for the past few years I have gotten my mom's birthday cake from here because she loves guava. It is a cute color and has a very nice guava flavor. The handwriting for the cakes looks really neat and legible. I would come here again and again just for this cake.

Yelp
Have always loved this bakery! Friendly folks working here and some of the best burnt almond cake in the Bay. Quality ingredients and products, although the last few times I was underwhelmed. The cookies, cakes and pastries aren't as good and their macarons had way too much heavy filling and none of the lightness. Even by today's standards, $20 for a pound of cookies is astronomically ridiculous. I'm torn because I understand how hard it is to sustain a small business in the current climate, but if you're going to pass on the costs to customers, your product should reflect the price.

Yelp
This was my second time coming here for a birthday cake. They have the best burnt almond cake! The bakery is nice and clean and has a French vibe to it. Only thing they can improve on is their customer service. The lady helping me gave off a negative energy and vibe with the way they were speaking to me.

Yelp
I wish I can give a thousand stars for their burnt almond cake. MUST TRY!!!!!!!! They do have plenty ready for walk in customers. I never really pre-order. They can quickly make the name sign for you too. The shop also sells many cookies and small size cakes. I haven't tried them all but I have to say there are some hit and miss ones

Yelp
We had a custom photo cake for a friend's birthday!! The chocolate cake with buttercream was superrrrr tall. Even doing thin slices, it was huge the buttercream was very yummy and the picture part was edible too (they were too cute to eat). The cake was fairly moist and had thick layers of cream and cake. Overall very solid cake

Yelp
Simple online order process and extremely efficient service at their counter (I was in and out in mere minutes). Many bonus points for them entertaining my literal text emoji decoration request for my brother's birthday cake! The guava cake is fantastic, ridonculously moist, and fruity without excessive sweetness throughout. This was very well received by everyone at our gathering and we're usually not shy about critique! Definitely a top tier offering and reflects quite the standard for baked goodies. I'll most certainly be happy to return when another cake need arises.

Yelp
For the past idek how many years (a long time), my family has gotten almost all our birthday cakes here. Our favorites are the burnt almond cake, chocolate strawberry shortcake, guava cake, fruit tart, and mango mousse. Their cakes are super moist and delicious. A problem I've had a couple times is phone calls not going through and having to order in person, but it's not a huge deal. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There are a few tables outside, but I wouldn't say it's a sit down cafe. Prices have definitely gone up, but I don't blame them. I still love their cakes, and will continue to order from them!
google avatar

Nina C.

Yelp
Their burnt almond cake is divine! Layers of chocolate cake, vanilla cake, and amaretto cream covered with whipped cream frosting and candied almonds. I was introduced to this cake on my last birthday when a friend brought it to the party. Since then I've had it multiple times, including for this year's birthday. The cake was ready on time and as delicious as ever. Even the customizable chocolate topper was delicious! Definitely recommend, and hope to try more cake flavors!

Yelp
The bakery was very clean and the pastries were very pretty. I have been searching for French Neapolitan pastry everywhere and was so happy when I found it here. However it tasted ok I also ordered eclairs but again it was ok. It tasted like bread with whip cream in the middle ( dry, not sweet, not airy, not creamy tasting).
google avatar

Kathleen W.

Yelp
We had their guava cake at a birthday party and it is very moist and delicious. The flavor modes of guava are truly present and I am not typically a cake person, but I wanted more than one slice !

Radhika A.

Yelp
Ordered a custom birthday cake for our kid's first birthday! The design was exactly as described and the flavors were exceptional. Special shoutout to the staff that took our order online. Very warm, patient and helpful.
google avatar

Ivy C.

Yelp
I called this morning (on a Mon) to reserve a cake and the lady had so much attitude, I almost hung up. I'm glad I didn't, because their cakes are pretty solid. If you want anything larger than 8 inches, you have to order 2 days ahead online, so keep that in mind! They're famous for their guava cake, tiramisu, and burnt almond cake. The burnt almond wasn't as perfect as I remember because there's less custard now, but the almonds and everything else was still good. I hope next time I don't get attitude because I'll probably still buy a cake at some point haha.

Yelp
I've passed this bakery many times before and decided to try it out for myself. There were so many wonderful options on display it was hard to choose which to buy. There were a few people in front of me but I was helped fairly quick. The workers were nice and patient while I tried to decide on my order. I opted for two guava cupcakes, a Napoleon, and a pistachio macaron. The guava cupcakes were very moist and rich. I didn't get much of a guava flavor from the cake itself, but the jam at the top really worked well. The macaron was delicious.
google avatar

Pauline C.

Yelp
I am so disappointed with my recent visit and purchase. We've bought cakes from here a few times and yesterday was so bad. The display had a good assortment. The service was ok. The $40 mocha torte was a huge disappointment. More buttercream than cake! It was atrocious! The standard has dropped so much since last year. Please do better.

Yelp
Wow quite the display of bakery Purchased a guava cake for my Bestie Grabbed some iced cookies as well Everything was absolutely delicious Great customer service Lots of parking in the parking lot Definitely worth the stop if you are in this area

Yelp
4.25/5 Cake is beautiful. Very dense, heavy in weight. Cake is evenly layered, however it's a very very sweet. Overly sweet and thick. Cake was ~$65 which is a little pricey for me. Staff was friendly, even offered to help carry the cake to the car. Would come back again if I need a cake!

Yelp
I had their burnt almond cake because I've been on this burnt almond kick. I've tried Peter's bakery which does it more traditional, Lawsons Bakery, traditional as well... and La Patisserie... just amazing. Their burnt almond cake so far is our favorite. They have a mini size cake (and big one) but it's topped with candied burnt almond and some powdered sugar. The inside is the best, with a amaretto custard and a chocolate layer. It's SIMPLY THE BEST. It's delicious! I LOVE THEIR CAKES! This is one of my favorites next to my favorite- their chocolate strawberry shortcake. Also had their cheesecake and their La Parisian. The La Parisian is great as well. Solid place! My favorite bakery and can't get anything like this down in SD. Every time I'm back in the bay, I hit this place up.

Yelp
We were on some kind of weird food odyssey. Dim sum followed by ramen followed by cookies. Needless to say, we didn't have dinner afterwards. I hadn't remembered that we had purchased dessert here once before in 2015. I only remembered when I started this review and saw the old pictures. I don't know if I had written a review, and it got taken down or if I simply hadn't written a review. The front of the house is not huge. I believe that there were four small display cases. Our server was very patient with our indecisiveness and made sure that we knew that the Florentines had peanuts in them (checking for allergies). They have a pretty good assortment of cookies (mix & match at $18.50 per pound) and some full cakes and an selection of slices and smaller dessert items. Because we didn't know where we were heading next and we didn't have an ice chest, we didn't buy any dessert items with cream. We don't get down this way very often. We used to come for a restaurant that is long gone now - Pot Sticker King. But we'll be back.

Yelp
On the hunt for the famous Aki's guava cake. I ordered a cupcake, hoping that it would merit a whole cake order for a future celebration. While enjoyable and quite beautiful, the cake was a bit dry and didn't have the same texture as the original. The search continues...
google avatar

Susan Z.

Yelp
First time ordering a birthday cake from La Patisserie and was pleasantly surprised! I was afraid that the Cappuccino Mousse Cake might be too sweet, but it wasn't. The cake was delicious. Sponge cake was soft and moist, the coffee cream and normal cream paired super well altogether with the cake as a whole. The texture of the creams were perfect and each spoonful melted in my mouth. The coffee flavor was just right too! There were beautiful flowers and leaves made out of chocolate on top of the cake, and it was completely edible and delicious! Would definitely consider trying out their other cakes in the future. Super easy ordering process (online or you can call to order).

Yelp
I went here during my "Search For The Best Burnt Almond Cake" day. After my stop at Peter's Bakery, I went here by one of my friend's recommendation. They said this place has better burnt almond cakes, so I had to give it a shot. This place is in the same complex as Marukai, Daiso, and various little restaurants and tea places. This complex is usually always busy but parking is still easy to find. This little bakery is small but their case is filled with soo many items! I wish to try everything but because I have a small laughable stomach and my wallet is crying, I opted for the 2 things that were recommended to me by a friend. I got the mini burnt almond cake and hazelnut bliss. Burnt almond cake- I ate this next to Peter's Bakery's BAC and yes, this is far superior. The sponge cake is soft, the almond pastry cream is sweet and delicate, the buttercream is creamy and buttery, and the candied almonds are caramelized and introduce a bit of bitterness to the whole ensemble. Delicious. Me and my boyfriend finished this whole thing in one sitting. Hazelnut Bliss- Also very good. It's like a cake version of a Ferrero Rocher. I like the chocolate outer shell and cute presentation. Overall I liked this place a lot. I will definitely try more things in their case. The staff was also very welcoming and kind. Until next time!

Yelp
I left this place disappointed... Then I woke up after I tried their pastries!! Quality/Quantity - Got their signature item, Mini Burnt Almond!!! And it was amazing!!! No, I mean amazing!! Not too sweet, and you can taste so many different flavors and textures. From the almond, to the vanilla, to the custard filling, and to those candied almonds! I would and could keep coming back just for this! Fruit Tart, La Tulipe - This was good also, almost twice the price as across the street, but that is the cost for quality! This was also in a chocolate "cup", so so good! Also look at their drink prices, so reasonable. Too bad I already did my Starbucks run; but you already know that... Atmosphere - Small local bakery, support locals. Plenty of mall parking, well at least today/this morning. Open 7 days a week from 8am or 9am to 5pm or 7pm. Service - She did not seem happy...? Or did all my Yelp picture taking make her nervous...? Next time I will share and do a better job promoting Yelp. Anyways, as a first time customer, I asked for the best seller and then added a fruit tart to my order as I know my wife prefers that. She was not rude, but again, she was not happy. After each of my selections, she kept asking "anything else" in a hurried manner. I am the only customer, are you in a rush? Price - $17, expensive but worth it. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1986. If service was better, this would have been a 5 star review. If your pastries were not amazing, this would have been a 3 star review. Yes, we prefer to support small businesses and locals also! I will also get my coffee from you next time. Also congrats on the success of your other two bakeries; Sugar Butter Flour and Lavender Bakery.

Yelp
Based on Yelp Reviewers, i decided to go to this bakery to get an early birthday cake for myself. LoL and it did not disappoint! I always fear trying small cities bakeries because, sure photos look great in presentation, but does it really tastes as good as it looks? Simple name, La Parisserie. High quality cakes better than in San Francisco in my opinion. I wanted the almond cake they are famous for but it was too big for 4 people to eat it so I settle for this chocolate one and it was A+ perfect delicious rich chocolate goodness like a good quality cake should taste like perfection. Then on another time, I came back in May 2024 and night 4 slices of cake where one was the almond and that almond was the highlight and better of the others slices. Great bakery that I will drive out for.
google avatar

Sammi L.

Yelp
Been coming to La Patisserie for all our big celebrations and events. In my opinion, best quality and quantity. An 8" cake will set you back 65$, but it's always easily fed 10-12 of us. They get busy, so make sure you order ahead. The online ordering system is easy to use, and staff are always really fast and friendly. We've gotten cupcakes, red velvet and chocolate cakes, but our favorites are the burnt almond and guava cakes. So good. Always such a treat and group favorite when we get LP.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't give a full review since I made an order for delivery online but I got a fruit tartlet and lemon biscotti cheesecake. I'm someone who prefers less sweetness so I thought the lemon biscotti was a little too sweet for me. Nonetheless, it was still delicious! My favorite was definitely the fruit tartlet. I would love to try the other desserts! Definitely will be stopping by when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Best bakery in existence. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and unless they suddenly decide to start making every single thing raisin filled, I'm never going anywhere else. This place has my heart. and my tastebuds. The staff are angels in aprons. They're always ridiculously friendly, kind, and somehow manage to smile even when I show up with weirdly specific cake requests. They never flinch. Absolutely incredible service. If you're looking for baked goods that taste like a warm hug from the universe, this is the spot. Go anywhere else and you're just settling, and all you're going to have to look forward to is a lifetime of regret. Why risk sadness when you could be eating joy at La Patisserie. Their burnt almond cake... my favorite....it's talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, totally unique, completely not ever been done before. This cake could bring peace to the world. La Patisserie I wish you would cater global summits. Another honorable mention, one that has a very special place in my heart- their lemon square. This was an after school treat for me often, and is still my favorite pastry because of that today. I live in SF now and have long been trying to find another that lives up to this one, but no one does it like they do here. I'm obviously in love. Thank you La Patisserie for years of kindness and love thru baked goods and warm smiles. Yall are one of a kind. the best.

Yelp
This review is solely based on La Patisserie's burnt almond cake. After constant repetition of a gf recommending La Patisserie's version of burnt almond cake, I finally caved in and decided to cheat on my local bakery. I made the request to have my birthday cake ordered/made here. The base pricing for a burnt almond cake is $60 for an 8 inch and will increase in cost as you size up. This version consists of 2 layers of vanilla cake, a middle layer of chocolate cake, and custard filling in between all layers. The entire cake is ultimately engulfed in crunchy candied almonds. Be advised that no writing can be done directly on the cake, you have the option of purchasing a chocolate piece to have the writing done on there- for an additional fee of course. Cake: This cake was a beauty! Penmanship could have used a bit of work but that's just me being picky. Lolz. The cake layers were fluffy and moist but the custard filling just didn't do it for me. With all of the hype surrounding this cake, I honestly expected a lot more. The candied almonds was overwhelming and overly sweet so we shaved that outer layer off and ate around it. 3 stars. This cake will absolutely give you that WOW factor you're in search for. You'll absolutely snag a handful of beautiful pics but when it came down to taste, it just wasn't for me. Factoring in the cost and the establishment's location from my home, I'd happily spare my wallet and gas tank by going to my local bakery. I'd come back and possibly try a few pastries but my loyalty is elsewhere be it comes to burnt almond!!

Yelp
I was recommended La Patisserie by a friend of mine and so happy I found them! I ordered a customized guava cake with buttercream ( not fondant) on the outside to match a birthday theme. The guava cake and mousse filling was perfect and delicious! Not to mention the cake itself was executed so beautifully. The staff and service at La patisserie were very kind and helpful when I placed the order and during pick up. I would definitely recommend La patisserie!

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to La Patisserie Bakery for years. We love their cookies, lemon bars, pastries, tarts, cakes, etc. Their version of the following... French Napoleon: Puff pastry filled with creamy custard and raspberry preserve (5/5). By far the best that we've had at any bakery. The flakiness of the pastry, but that layer of raspberry preserve has elevated their version above others. They have a similar one at SBF, but it's not the same. The flakey top is not as good as La Patisserie. Persian Napoleon: Layered puff pastry filled with light cream (4/5). Guava Cake: Guava filled and iced with guava mousse, topped with a thin layer of guava glaze (4/5). This is delicious, light, airy cake, with the creamy guava and glaze which is not too sweet. Burnt Almond: Vanilla and chocolate cake filled with Amaretto custard filling, iced with whipped cream, and topped with candied almonds (4/5). Black Forest: Chocolate cake filled with custard and cherry preserve, iced with whipped cream, and topped with Maraschino cherries (4/5).

Yelp
I went here by internet recommendation and can confirm: the guava cake is good. It's a decedent tasting cake with a light guava flavor. I caught a glimpse of what the bakers were working on in the back. There were some amazing designs in great proportions being created. The staff was easy going and had great recommendations. I saw some raisin cookies on the way out but didn't have a chance to pick some up. Next time!

Yelp
The cake turn out sooo much better than I expected!!! Looks great and tastes great! Brought it into the office and everyone was surprised, especially with the design. The staff were really nice and patience with me when I explained the design of the cake I wanted. They even helped me carry the cake to my car. Shoutout to the staff for being sooo awesome!! The cake was for the US Marine Corps 249th birthday. If you know the crayons, you know.

Yelp
The go to bakery when you're in the area. Found this place by friends and was rlly amazed with their guava cake ! Kinda just hope they have slices of the guava cake, their other desserts are also rlly good. Will come back again for sure

Yelp
This was the first time I ordered a custom cake from them, and everything was so simple! The team was very responsive, attentive, and respectful. They absolutely nailed the image I wanted on the cake down to the little martini glass. When I asked them what flavor they recommended, they suggested burnt almond, but I didn't want almonds all over the cake, so we went with a vanilla sponge and amaretto filling with fresh berries. The cake tasted better than it looked, believe it or not~ the buttercream was perfectly buttery and soo smooth, no cracks! The moist sponge had a very good crumb, and the filling was so rich and not gritty, but not overpowering. I'll definitely be back to order cakes for future events and swing by to try their other tasty creations~

Elahe A.

Yelp
The mini burnt almond and Le Parisian are the most delicious pastries I have ever had and I've even been to France and Italy and had pastries and I have not had anything better. This is an amazing neighborhood bakery and all the workers are so kind and recommended me some great stuff.
google avatar

Jamie N.

Yelp
Burnt Almond Cake is wonderfully delicious with an added layer of chocolate cake to it. Since Dick's bakery has been closed for a while, this the closest in taste. If you don't want the whole cake, they have little single sizes too! Customer service is wonderful. Store is always cozy and clean. Parking is great!

Yelp
This place popped up under Eater SF's "14 Outstanding Bakeries in the South Bay" along with places like Midwife and Sugar Butter Flour so I knew that this place must be good. I actually go to that complex quite a bit so I'm surprised that I had never heard of this place until now. I came to this place a few times as I really liked the different items that I was getting each time I came here. It was only by the third time that I realized that this place looked oddly similar to Sugar Butter Flour. It was only after asking the cashier that I realized that they were sister bakeries. It makes a lot of sense considering they sell a lot of similar items such as the burnt almond cake. However, they also sell a number of items not available in the other bakery such as a different selection of cookies, cakes and tarts. I would actually say that there is wider and actually more delicious selection of items available here and not at Sugar Butter Flour such as the creme brûlée tartlet and Le Desir cake. I also appreciate how they charge cookies by the pound here so that you can mix and match without having to worry about cost. I would actually probably come here as opposed to Sugar Butter Flour if the latter wasn't down the street from my apartment. However, on those lazy Sunday mornings when I am carving something sweet and have a little more time, I would definitely make the extra drive to come here!

Yelp
This use to be THE bakery I ordered from for all my custom cakes (milestones, birthdays, etc...) This particular review was for my last order. I've never had an issues with the cake until this last incident and I am beyond disappointed, I don't think I can go back. I started the order through email like usual. Something in my gut told me something was off. I can't pinpoint what it was, but maybe it was the tone or the lack of attention to detail when exchanging emails. I disregarded the feeling because I've ordered from them so many times before, what could go wrong? When I went to pick up the order, a man held up the cake from behind the counter, and at over 6-8ft away, the cake appeared decent. I couldn't see the details and I knew it was too late to make any changes so I gave him the "ok" so they could package it up. As I was waiting, I could see the decor peeling off the side of the cake so I pointed it out to the staff. They told me they could fix it for me, so I waited 10 minutes or so. They had me sign my name on a random piece of scratch paper before giving me the cake. I guess it's their way of telling me that I have accepted the cake "as is" and I can't complain after the delivery. I felt like that was so unprofessional but I get it, they've probably had bad experiences with picky customers. When I went home to exam the cake, it looked as if an amateur baker decorated it. The "Happy Birthday" letters were written over an area that was smeared, as if they messed up and you can clearly see they wrote over it. The font was also basic, not the typical handwriting I've previously had on my prior cakes. Some letters were larger than others and looked very elementary to me. The decor was unevenly placed throughout the cake, like there was so thought putting this cake together. Some areas were blank while some areas had a bunch of decorations. (I wish I could post photos but this cake was personal to me and my family so I want to keep it private.) Their cakes are amazing and that's why I use go back time after time. I have no intentions of rectifying this incident. I am more surprised and disappointed in the quality of work, the experience of the entire ordering process, and the poor delivery of the cake. For such an expensive cake that was suppose to be the highlight of our celebration, it failed in all aspects. So beware if you're planning to get a custom cake here, you never know how your cake will turn out.

Yelp
I found another pastry and bakery shop with delicious cake flavors and cookies! It looks like a small and traditional bakery shop but they have a good roster of sweet delicacies and baked goods to choose from. My favorite is the Mini Burnt Almond. It's a unique cake packed with texture and flavors with the right sweetness. The Turtle Cheesecake is also good and has rich thick texture. They have a lot of cookie choices that you can mix and match and pay per pound. The Mexican Cookies are my favorite. I was able to try one of their big cakes during a birthday party, the Strawberry Cream and it was delicious. You have the option to preorder and customize the size of the cake. The one they got was probably a big one and the guests love it, there was no leftover. This is definitely in my top list for special cakes. It can be busy especially during weekends and holiday occasions. But they have a good number of staff to attend to the customers.

Yelp
The cake was so delicious and not too sugary at all! Everyone was able to enjoy including adults and the kids. The service was fast and appreciative! The store looks decent with a good selection of items.

Yelp
There is nothing related to French bakery. The Napoleon is the worst I ever try in bayarea. The custard is bitter of the French napolean. The cream of the Prussian napoleon tastes cheap and not fresh. The pastry are super soft and chewy doesn't like fresh. Tiramisu is not good either, even my son don't want to eat any of them... will never come back.

Yelp
Recently for a birthday celebration we decided to try a variety of cakes instead of just one main ones. Well, La Patisserie did not disappoint. From the Parisien, Burnt almond to the Cappuccino Mousse were all delicious. Staff provided top notch service with their patience and recommendations. Will definitely come back again and again.

Yelp
Always get the guava cake here for family gatherings and it's always a hit. Also have been to this bakery for same day pick ups of cookies and other baked goods and they are always delicious. 10/10 would recommend this place to others.

Yelp
Burnt Almond Cupcake is what they're known for and omg, it's the most amazing dessert I have ever tried! So fluffy and the perfect crunch! It works so well together! I'm glad we got two of them! The cupcakes are light and the frosting tasted a bit heavy on top. But it was the perfect balance! The lemon raspberry was more sour than sweet but it works! This dessert was probably the sweetest of the cupcakes we decided to try. The creme brûlée had a great crunch on top and was so smooth to bite into! I would definitely be returning to try!

Yelp
Unfortunately I'm removing a few stars. I ordered again a couple of weeks ago for my birthday. I asked for a simple purple fondant and chocolate filling with cream and strawberries. The cake was dry and there was sooo much cream in the filling. No no one liked the cake and we ended up throwing it away. Also the fondant was not even and it looked very unprofessionally done. Will not be ordering again, sadly.

Yelp
I have gone to this bakery over 10 years. Sadly I have noticed the quality of their baked goods have good down. They have a good variety though. The 3 different pieces I got this round were not fresh.
