14 Best Bakeries in San Jose and the South Bay Area | Eater SF

"European-inspired bakery La Patisserie takes cake seriously. The shop offers a slew of daily menu items such as green tea cheesecake and tres leches — but for those who want to order one for a special occasion, there are more than 132 ways to customize cakes by sweetness and flavor. Since opening 16 years ago, the family-owned bakery has become well-known for its burnt almond cake, which incorporates an Amaretto custard filling, and guava cake. The individual-sized desserts are a popular option, along with the tiramisu, passionberry cake, hazelnut bliss cake, and Persian Napoleon." - Cathy Park

Google
We had mini burnt almond and fruit tart and they were both great! Mini burnt almond had various flavor and texture. Fruit tart, the fruit, which is the most important ingredient here, were really really fresh. Iand also nice ppl there! I would definitely go get the dessert again!

Google
I ordered cakes from here for my birthday and my nephew’s, and they were absolutely amazing! I had tried their cakes at work before and loved every one, so I knew I had to order from them for our celebration. At first, some guests thought it was just a typical cake for show, but once they tasted it, everyone went back for seconds (and even thirds!). The cakes were beautifully designed and incredibly delicious. From the flavor to the presentation, everything was 5 stars and beyond. Highly recommend this place for any special occasion! 🎂👏

Google
I saw their cakes online and they looked really good. So for my birthday I ordered one. So on the day we drove out to pick it up. This looks like a standard bakery from the outside. Same on the inside. While waiting we had a chance to look around at the many different cakes and pastries. On our turn the lady asked if she could help us. She quickly returned with the cake . I had ordered a chocolate and raspberry cake. The inside of the cake is a layer of fudge,a layer of raspberry and a layer of chocolate cake. It's covered in a thick chocolate fondant. Truly a chocolate lovers dream.

Google
Guava cupcake is very delicious!!! Matcha cheese cake is delightful - very light not too sweet. Cake is over priced. Go to WholeFood right across for cake- fresh, quality and affordable.

Joanne L.

Google
Way too sweet. Mini cakes are not fluffy, but are dense and have weird gelatin texture. Saving grace was the lemon biscotti cheese cake which was okay. Do not recommend the Individual Chocolate Truffle and Cafe Vienna

Google
Ordered a custom cake here for my son's first birthday. Cake looked AMAZING and guests loved the flavor. We ordered a white cake with fresh strawberries in it. Staff was very responsive and easy to communicate with via email. Cake gets the "not too sweet' stamp of approval from my Asian family 😂

Vida K.

Google
We have had our daughter's custom birthday cakes made here for the past four years! Not only does the cake always come out beautiful but the cake tastes so good! And communication with them is professional and easy. Parents are always asking me where I get my cakes made and I happily tell them!

Jae Youn K.

Google
I bought a cheesecake on 5/21/25. The strawberry on top didn’t look fresh, but I was okay with that. When I took it off, I thought I saw chocolate powder—but it turned out to be dirt. Lost my appetite.

Yelp
I tried the burnt almond cake and the tiramisu. The staff are incredibly helpful when I don't know what to get since I had never been here before. They also told me that the burnt almond cake and the guava cake are their fan favorites so I'll be sure to try the guava cake next time I visit. Here are some photos of the inside to show their offerings.

Yelp
Always wanted to try the sweet treats from this shop and I happened to be in the area when it was open so I popped in! They have a wonderful selection of cakes and cookies all beautifully displayed. I grabbed a guava cupcake and it is absolutely perfect. Super light and fluffy and not too sweet at all. Also got my sister a tiramisu and she said it was good too! Will definitely come back to try some other treats.

Yelp
I have always wanted to check out La Patisserie, as they are conveniently located next to Tokyo Central (Marukai Market). The shop had two display cases full of fresh cookies, pastries, and cakes. It is a grab and go type of shop. There is some seating right outside of the bakery. Something to note is that they have a $5 minimum to pay with credit card. I visited without knowing what I wanted but ended up grabbing a chocolate danish twist. The staff behind the counter were very attentive and helpful. I think I would come back to try other pastries and maybe order from their selection of cakes.

Yelp
I tried the la parisien and truffle cake. The cake was decent overall, but the frosting was too high compared to the cake and the amount of frosting. The sweetness was good but I personally feel higher for European patisserie that I've tried in other places. The staff was friendly and to the point.
google avatar

Yelp
Truly unfortunate that their quality has gone down the drain. After years of being a go-to, I have to agree with many other customers the fruit tarts are not fresh. They're using old fruit, and the tarts being sold are honestly unsellable. This place is ruining its reputation fast. We won't be back.

Yelp
Amazing family run establishment. Friendly people and delicious pastries. Heavily underrated spot.

Yelp
This is my favorite bakery for burnt almond cake and guava cake. The cake is always flavorful and moist. Recently, I ordered a guava cake and when I removed it from the box, I noticed there was tape on the bottom of the cake board which I appreciated. The tape prevented the cake from sliding all over in the box which usually messes up the sides. Whenever I get a cake for special occasions from here, I usually get asked where it's from. Looking forward to eating another cake from here in the future.

Yelp
Burnt almond cake (our friend's favorite) was a great hit for a bridal shower! Ordering on the online form was easy and accurate. Pickup was a little hectic in store, but all the details were on time and correct. Tip: Confirmation email went to spam in case you can't find it. 8 inch size ($65) fed our party of 12+ people. And the chocolate heart ($4) included beautiful writing for our "Bride to Be". Have had better cakes but definitely a quality cake that's not too sweet for Asian tastes.
google avatar

Kaycee C.

Yelp
I first tried the chocolate and strawberry cake from here at a work event and was genuinely impressed. The cake was moist, the flavors were well-balanced, and it wasn't overly sweet like some bakery cakes can be. The combination of chocolate and strawberry worked really well, simple but executed nicely. It stood out enough that I made a mental note to come back. A few weeks later, I ordered a carrot cake for a small gathering, and it turned out to be a great choice. The texture was dense in a good way, the spice level was just right, and the frosting wasn't too heavy. Everyone had positive things to say about it, and there weren't any leftovers by the end of the night, which is always a good sign. What I like most is that the cakes feel fresh and thoughtfully made without trying too hard to be fancy or trendy. Just solid, good-quality cakes that taste how they should. I'll definitely be back the next time I need something for an event or when I'm just in the mood for a good dessert.

Yelp
A very small shop located in the same plaza as other popular eatery spots with high quality and affordable of cakes/desserts. If you have been to this area, you must know parking can be painful to find here, arrange your time appropriately for parking. The store is towards the corner of the plaza with a very small front door. The decorations were not impressive or eye-catching at all. However the quality of the products really speak for themselves. They offer slices or whole cakes, with many of them are French. The server was nice and knowledgeable with their items. I got a slice with recommendations from the cashier, which has a very nice texture and strong flavor of chocolate but not too overwhelming. It was sweet but not too sweet, totally hit all the spots that you could think of. I painfully hope they will expand their stores and present their cakes in a fancier/better way to match up their looks with the quality of products.

Yelp
The best burnt almond cake I have ever had! I bought this cake for my husband's birthday party and I received endless compliments about the cake! Even people that didn't enjoy desserts enjoyed this cake!

Julia P.

Yelp
This bakery is among the best (if not the very best) I've been to. Everything I have tried: cakes, cookies, pastries, all of it is so fresh and always exceeds my expectations. The service is also always great, and the family who owns it is so nice and caring to their customers. I cannot recommend enough!!!

Marion V V.

Yelp
The pastries were old, but sold. The croissants were dry and should have been thrown away days ago. :( Bad deal.
google avatar

Kevin T.

Yelp
Simple online order process and extremely efficient service at their counter (I was in and out in mere minutes). Many bonus points for them entertaining my literal text emoji decoration request for my brother's birthday cake! The guava cake is fantastic, ridonculously moist, and fruity without excessive sweetness throughout. This was very well received by everyone at our gathering and we're usually not shy about critique! Definitely a top tier offering and reflects quite the standard for baked goodies. I'll most certainly be happy to return when another cake need arises.

Yelp
We had a custom photo cake for a friend's birthday!! The chocolate cake with buttercream was superrrrr tall. Even doing thin slices, it was huge the buttercream was very yummy and the picture part was edible too (they were too cute to eat). The cake was fairly moist and had thick layers of cream and cake. Overall very solid cake

Yelp
I wish I can give a thousand stars for their burnt almond cake. MUST TRY!!!!!!!! They do have plenty ready for walk in customers. I never really pre-order. They can quickly make the name sign for you too. The shop also sells many cookies and small size cakes. I haven't tried them all but I have to say there are some hit and miss ones
google avatar

Audrey P.

Yelp
For the past idek how many years (a long time), my family has gotten almost all our birthday cakes here. Our favorites are the burnt almond cake, chocolate strawberry shortcake, guava cake, fruit tart, and mango mousse. Their cakes are super moist and delicious. A problem I've had a couple times is phone calls not going through and having to order in person, but it's not a huge deal. The staff is always helpful and friendly. There are a few tables outside, but I wouldn't say it's a sit down cafe. Prices have definitely gone up, but I don't blame them. I still love their cakes, and will continue to order from them!
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Have always loved this bakery! Friendly folks working here and some of the best burnt almond cake in the Bay. Quality ingredients and products, although the last few times I was underwhelmed. The cookies, cakes and pastries aren't as good and their macarons had way too much heavy filling and none of the lightness. Even by today's standards, $20 for a pound of cookies is astronomically ridiculous. I'm torn because I understand how hard it is to sustain a small business in the current climate, but if you're going to pass on the costs to customers, your product should reflect the price.
google avatar

Suman K.

Yelp
This was my second time coming here for a birthday cake. They have the best burnt almond cake! The bakery is nice and clean and has a French vibe to it. Only thing they can improve on is their customer service. The lady helping me gave off a negative energy and vibe with the way they were speaking to me.
google avatar

Miriam T.

Yelp
A great variety of desserts. It was hard to choose from. I came initially for the guava cake and it tasted so nice. It compares to Aki's bakery that I had decades ago. Next was the chocolate cake which was to die. It wasn't overly rich. Lastly, their chocolate cream puff. Big and whip creamy. This is an authentic French bakery and they've been around for years. I wish they had a store in North San Jose. I'd love to pick up desserts from them as much as I do with Paris Baguette.
google avatar

Wayne T.

Yelp
I saw their cakes online and they looked delicious. So for my birthday I ordered a chocolate and raspberry cake. When we arrived the girl saw that we were looking so she waited to ask if we needed help. I kinda wanted to pick up some of the small versions of the cake, but resisted. Will probably go back later. The cake was chocolate heaven,a rich thick layer of fudge, with a layer of raspberry. It's covered in a layer of chocolate fondant. If you love chocolate,I highly recommend that you give this a try
google avatar

Ivy C.

Yelp
I called this morning (on a Mon) to reserve a cake and the lady had so much attitude, I almost hung up. I'm glad I didn't, because their cakes are pretty solid. If you want anything larger than 8 inches, you have to order 2 days ahead online, so keep that in mind! They're famous for their guava cake, tiramisu, and burnt almond cake. The burnt almond wasn't as perfect as I remember because there's less custard now, but the almonds and everything else was still good. I hope next time I don't get attitude because I'll probably still buy a cake at some point haha.

Yelp
Super yummy! Needed dessert for our 4th of July bbq and thought we would get it from here..... Boy were we happy with our decision! We got the Burnt Almond Cake and it is to "Die for!" Imagine a cake with a white and chocolate layer with an almond cream pudding like interior covered with a delicious frosting littered with candied sliced almonds all over it It was SO delicious that words cannot describe what your mouth will be experiencing with each yummy bite! Get the cake if you are ever near here, actually get the cake even if you're not near here. It is AWESOMELY delicious! My next cake to try will be all of them! Actually the guava cake looks sumptuously delicious! We will be back soon!

Yelp
I've passed this bakery many times before and decided to try it out for myself. There were so many wonderful options on display it was hard to choose which to buy. There were a few people in front of me but I was helped fairly quick. The workers were nice and patient while I tried to decide on my order. I opted for two guava cupcakes, a Napoleon, and a pistachio macaron. The guava cupcakes were very moist and rich. I didn't get much of a guava flavor from the cake itself, but the jam at the top really worked well. The macaron was delicious.
google avatar

Jaimee Rose A.

Yelp
I have not tried anything here except the guava cake but it is really good and for the past few years I have gotten my mom's birthday cake from here because she loves guava. It is a cute color and has a very nice guava flavor. The handwriting for the cakes looks really neat and legible. I would come here again and again just for this cake.

Aaron S.

Yelp
long time customer here. I just gotta give another five stars review for their amazing cakes and kindness near this holiday seasons. I ordered a guava yule log buche de noelle and it was as delicious as it was beautiful. really love this bakery. They also gave me a couple free cookies on the house and it was also very delicious.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Wow quite the display of bakery Purchased a guava cake for my Bestie Grabbed some iced cookies as well Everything was absolutely delicious Great customer service Lots of parking in the parking lot Definitely worth the stop if you are in this area
google avatar

Yelp
I had their burnt almond cake because I've been on this burnt almond kick. I've tried Peter's bakery which does it more traditional, Lawsons Bakery, traditional as well... and La Patisserie... just amazing. Their burnt almond cake so far is our favorite. They have a mini size cake (and big one) but it's topped with candied burnt almond and some powdered sugar. The inside is the best, with a amaretto custard and a chocolate layer. It's SIMPLY THE BEST. It's delicious! I LOVE THEIR CAKES! This is one of my favorites next to my favorite- their chocolate strawberry shortcake. Also had their cheesecake and their La Parisian. The La Parisian is great as well. Solid place! My favorite bakery and can't get anything like this down in SD. Every time I'm back in the bay, I hit this place up.
google avatar

Nina C.

Yelp
Their burnt almond cake is divine! Layers of chocolate cake, vanilla cake, and amaretto cream covered with whipped cream frosting and candied almonds. I was introduced to this cake on my last birthday when a friend brought it to the party. Since then I've had it multiple times, including for this year's birthday. The cake was ready on time and as delicious as ever. Even the customizable chocolate topper was delicious! Definitely recommend, and hope to try more cake flavors!

Yelp
We were on some kind of weird food odyssey. Dim sum followed by ramen followed by cookies. Needless to say, we didn't have dinner afterwards. I hadn't remembered that we had purchased dessert here once before in 2015. I only remembered when I started this review and saw the old pictures. I don't know if I had written a review, and it got taken down or if I simply hadn't written a review. The front of the house is not huge. I believe that there were four small display cases. Our server was very patient with our indecisiveness and made sure that we knew that the Florentines had peanuts in them (checking for allergies). They have a pretty good assortment of cookies (mix & match at $18.50 per pound) and some full cakes and an selection of slices and smaller dessert items. Because we didn't know where we were heading next and we didn't have an ice chest, we didn't buy any dessert items with cream. We don't get down this way very often. We used to come for a restaurant that is long gone now - Pot Sticker King. But we'll be back.

Yelp
On the hunt for the famous Aki's guava cake. I ordered a cupcake, hoping that it would merit a whole cake order for a future celebration. While enjoyable and quite beautiful, the cake was a bit dry and didn't have the same texture as the original. The search continues...
google avatar

Susan Z.

Yelp
First time ordering a birthday cake from La Patisserie and was pleasantly surprised! I was afraid that the Cappuccino Mousse Cake might be too sweet, but it wasn't. The cake was delicious. Sponge cake was soft and moist, the coffee cream and normal cream paired super well altogether with the cake as a whole. The texture of the creams were perfect and each spoonful melted in my mouth. The coffee flavor was just right too! There were beautiful flowers and leaves made out of chocolate on top of the cake, and it was completely edible and delicious! Would definitely consider trying out their other cakes in the future. Super easy ordering process (online or you can call to order).

Yelp
I went here during my "Search For The Best Burnt Almond Cake" day. After my stop at Peter's Bakery, I went here by one of my friend's recommendation. They said this place has better burnt almond cakes, so I had to give it a shot. This place is in the same complex as Marukai, Daiso, and various little restaurants and tea places. This complex is usually always busy but parking is still easy to find. This little bakery is small but their case is filled with soo many items! I wish to try everything but because I have a small laughable stomach and my wallet is crying, I opted for the 2 things that were recommended to me by a friend. I got the mini burnt almond cake and hazelnut bliss. Burnt almond cake- I ate this next to Peter's Bakery's BAC and yes, this is far superior. The sponge cake is soft, the almond pastry cream is sweet and delicate, the buttercream is creamy and buttery, and the candied almonds are caramelized and introduce a bit of bitterness to the whole ensemble. Delicious. Me and my boyfriend finished this whole thing in one sitting. Hazelnut Bliss- Also very good. It's like a cake version of a Ferrero Rocher. I like the chocolate outer shell and cute presentation. Overall I liked this place a lot. I will definitely try more things in their case. The staff was also very welcoming and kind. Until next time!

Yelp
I left this place disappointed... Then I woke up after I tried their pastries!! Quality/Quantity - Got their signature item, Mini Burnt Almond!!! And it was amazing!!! No, I mean amazing!! Not too sweet, and you can taste so many different flavors and textures. From the almond, to the vanilla, to the custard filling, and to those candied almonds! I would and could keep coming back just for this! Fruit Tart, La Tulipe - This was good also, almost twice the price as across the street, but that is the cost for quality! This was also in a chocolate "cup", so so good! Also look at their drink prices, so reasonable. Too bad I already did my Starbucks run; but you already know that... Atmosphere - Small local bakery, support locals. Plenty of mall parking, well at least today/this morning. Open 7 days a week from 8am or 9am to 5pm or 7pm. Service - She did not seem happy...? Or did all my Yelp picture taking make her nervous...? Next time I will share and do a better job promoting Yelp. Anyways, as a first time customer, I asked for the best seller and then added a fruit tart to my order as I know my wife prefers that. She was not rude, but again, she was not happy. After each of my selections, she kept asking "anything else" in a hurried manner. I am the only customer, are you in a rush? Price - $17, expensive but worth it. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1986. If service was better, this would have been a 5 star review. If your pastries were not amazing, this would have been a 3 star review. Yes, we prefer to support small businesses and locals also! I will also get my coffee from you next time. Also congrats on the success of your other two bakeries; Sugar Butter Flour and Lavender Bakery.

Yelp
Based on Yelp Reviewers, i decided to go to this bakery to get an early birthday cake for myself. LoL and it did not disappoint! I always fear trying small cities bakeries because, sure photos look great in presentation, but does it really tastes as good as it looks? Simple name, La Parisserie. High quality cakes better than in San Francisco in my opinion. I wanted the almond cake they are famous for but it was too big for 4 people to eat it so I settle for this chocolate one and it was A+ perfect delicious rich chocolate goodness like a good quality cake should taste like perfection. Then on another time, I came back in May 2024 and night 4 slices of cake where one was the almond and that almond was the highlight and better of the others slices. Great bakery that I will drive out for.

Yelp
4.25/5 Cake is beautiful. Very dense, heavy in weight. Cake is evenly layered, however it's a very very sweet. Overly sweet and thick. Cake was ~$65 which is a little pricey for me. Staff was friendly, even offered to help carry the cake to the car. Would come back again if I need a cake!
google avatar

Pauline C.

Yelp
I am so disappointed with my recent visit and purchase. We've bought cakes from here a few times and yesterday was so bad. The display had a good assortment. The service was ok. The $40 mocha torte was a huge disappointment. More buttercream than cake! It was atrocious! The standard has dropped so much since last year. Please do better.
google avatar

Sammi L.

Yelp
Been coming to La Patisserie for all our big celebrations and events. In my opinion, best quality and quantity. An 8" cake will set you back 65$, but it's always easily fed 10-12 of us. They get busy, so make sure you order ahead. The online ordering system is easy to use, and staff are always really fast and friendly. We've gotten cupcakes, red velvet and chocolate cakes, but our favorites are the burnt almond and guava cakes. So good. Always such a treat and group favorite when we get LP.

Tracy S.

Yelp
We have been ordering Swedish Green Princess Cake every year for more than ten years for my birthday, except last year. And it was perfect every time we ordered it in the past. However, the Princess cake we picked up on November 7th 2025, it just tasted terrible. The cake had to be done by a trainee baker as the marzipan was not only too think but someone must made a mistake first time so they put another thick second layer on to cover the mistake. Also, the marzipan had a very funky smell not the normal almond paste, & it was rubbery chewy. The Baker Apprentice must have had a wrong ratio of Almond Paste & Powdered Sugar. Next, the cake had only two thick, dense layers of sponge cake instead of the usual three to four layers of light sponge cake. In addition, someone put the excessive, hefty amount of Whipped Cream which everyone was all busy scooping out into a trash can. Finally, the cake had a very minimum layer of Vanilla Custard with paper-thin amount of Raspberry Jam. The only logical reason I can come up would be a change of ownership from previous one. Because we even did the complete wedding cake & assortment package for our son in 2017 & it was just flawless. We also knew the owner of this business, Fatima, pretty well.
google avatar

Swaha B.

Yelp
Such a wonderful bakery with friendly and kind staff and of course, did I mention their delicious cakes? Burnt almond is an all time favorite but so is the guava and do try the other flavors like hazelnut and tiramisu as well!
google avatar

Vijay R.

Yelp
We got a beautiful guava cake for my daughter's bday. We were able to get the bakery to add happy birthday to our daughter. For the size of the cake, it was a tremendous value. The cake is also super tasty with real guava flavors.
google avatar

Jes H.

Yelp
I can't give a full review since I made an order for delivery online but I got a fruit tartlet and lemon biscotti cheesecake. I'm someone who prefers less sweetness so I thought the lemon biscotti was a little too sweet for me. Nonetheless, it was still delicious! My favorite was definitely the fruit tartlet. I would love to try the other desserts! Definitely will be stopping by when I'm in the area!
google avatar

Kathleen W.

Yelp
We had their guava cake at a birthday party and it is very moist and delicious. The flavor modes of guava are truly present and I am not typically a cake person, but I wanted more than one slice !

Yelp
This review is solely based on La Patisserie's burnt almond cake. After constant repetition of a gf recommending La Patisserie's version of burnt almond cake, I finally caved in and decided to cheat on my local bakery. I made the request to have my birthday cake ordered/made here. The base pricing for a burnt almond cake is $60 for an 8 inch and will increase in cost as you size up. This version consists of 2 layers of vanilla cake, a middle layer of chocolate cake, and custard filling in between all layers. The entire cake is ultimately engulfed in crunchy candied almonds. Be advised that no writing can be done directly on the cake, you have the option of purchasing a chocolate piece to have the writing done on there- for an additional fee of course. Cake: This cake was a beauty! Penmanship could have used a bit of work but that's just me being picky. Lolz. The cake layers were fluffy and moist but the custard filling just didn't do it for me. With all of the hype surrounding this cake, I honestly expected a lot more. The candied almonds was overwhelming and overly sweet so we shaved that outer layer off and ate around it. 3 stars. This cake will absolutely give you that WOW factor you're in search for. You'll absolutely snag a handful of beautiful pics but when it came down to taste, it just wasn't for me. Factoring in the cost and the establishment's location from my home, I'd happily spare my wallet and gas tank by going to my local bakery. I'd come back and possibly try a few pastries but my loyalty is elsewhere be it comes to burnt almond!!

Glenda G.

Yelp
I was recommended La Patisserie by a friend of mine and so happy I found them! I ordered a customized guava cake with buttercream ( not fondant) on the outside to match a birthday theme. The guava cake and mousse filling was perfect and delicious! Not to mention the cake itself was executed so beautifully. The staff and service at La patisserie were very kind and helpful when I placed the order and during pick up. I would definitely recommend La patisserie!

Yelp
The famous burnt almond cake is way too sweet. I didn't even finish a slice. Won't buy it again.

Yelp
The bakery was very clean and the pastries were very pretty. I have been searching for French Neapolitan pastry everywhere and was so happy when I found it here. However it tasted ok I also ordered eclairs but again it was ok. It tasted like bread with whip cream in the middle ( dry, not sweet, not airy, not creamy tasting).
google avatar

Lloyd C.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to La Patisserie Bakery for years. We love their cookies, lemon bars, pastries, tarts, cakes, etc. Their version of the following... French Napoleon: Puff pastry filled with creamy custard and raspberry preserve (5/5). By far the best that we've had at any bakery. The flakiness of the pastry, but that layer of raspberry preserve has elevated their version above others. They have a similar one at SBF, but it's not the same. The flakey top is not as good as La Patisserie. Persian Napoleon: Layered puff pastry filled with light cream (4/5). Guava Cake: Guava filled and iced with guava mousse, topped with a thin layer of guava glaze (4/5). This is delicious, light, airy cake, with the creamy guava and glaze which is not too sweet. Burnt Almond: Vanilla and chocolate cake filled with Amaretto custard filling, iced with whipped cream, and topped with candied almonds (4/5). Black Forest: Chocolate cake filled with custard and cherry preserve, iced with whipped cream, and topped with Maraschino cherries (4/5).

The cakes here are absolutely incredible. I tried the hazelnut cake and the burnt almond, and both were divine. The service was decent, though nothing stood out. The bakery itself is small with limited seating.
