Family-owned since 2018, La Perla leans Sicilian—think strozzapreti norcina, grilled octopus, and tiramisù served with real warmth. Consistently high marks from OpenTable diners and local reviewers make it a refined yet welcoming choice.

An Italian restaurant that didn’t disappoint at all! I tried two specials of the day: the octopus, which was perfectly cooked and very flavorful, and the carpaccio, which was also delicious. For the main course, I had a chicken dish that was very well-seasoned and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the atmosphere; the service was excellent, and it’s definitely a great spot for a date. I highly recommend it! Today I didn’t have room for dessert, but they’re on my list for next time—I’ll definitely be back.

My friend reserved this restaurant prior to business opening hours for her sons who just celebrated their first holy communion and from the minute we walked in until we left the service was epic and the food MAMA MIA BELLA!! Delicious including the cake that was baked for the occasion. This was my first visit to this restaurant and definitely not my last . Compliments to the chef!!!!

La Perla di Pompano – A True Culinary Gem in Pompano Beach If you’re searching for an authentic Italian restaurant with old-world charm and traditional values, look no further than La Perla di Pompano. Tucked away at 420 Federal Highway in Pompano Beach, this cozy spot offers a truly memorable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted warmly by the friendly staff—and immediately tempted by a beautiful dessert cart showcasing an array of traditional sweets that hint at the perfect way to end your meal. We began our evening with homemade bread and crispy garlic butter wafers—simple, comforting, and delicious. We shared two appetizers: •   Calamari Dorati con Zucchine e Gamberi: A lightly breaded and fried medley of zucchini, shrimp, and calamari, served with a fresh tomato marinara. It was tender, flavorful, and perfectly executed. •   Beet & Burrata Salad: This dish was not only delicious but also visually stunning—sliced beets arranged with creamy burrata, walnuts, grape tomatoes, fresh basil, and a drizzle of balsamic. It looked like art on a plate and tasted just as good. The entrées were equally outstanding. My wife, who fell in love with a pasta dish during our trip to Sicily last September, was thrilled to find its match here: •   Strozzapreti Norcina – a twisted pasta in a creamy tomato and sausage sauce. Rich, comforting, and absolutely soul-warming. I had the: •   Tagliatelle Nere alla Pescatore – squid ink tagliatelle with diced salmon, clams, mussels, shrimp, and calamari sautéed in white wine and a light marinara. The delicate sauce allowed the freshness of the seafood to shine through beautifully. Our friend ordered the: •   Gnocchi Burratini – pillowy gnocchi in a fresh pomodoro sauce with basil, topped with creamy burrata. The cheese added a velvety smoothness that melted in your mouth. And finally: •   Pollo alla Toscana – chicken breast sautéed with white wine, garlic, artichoke hearts, capers, olives, and tomatoes. A rustic, hearty dish full of authentic Tuscan flavor. For dessert—every option was tempting, and truly, you can’t go wrong. Each one is crafted with care and full of traditional Italian sweetness. A special shout-out to our server, Salvatore, who was not only professional and attentive but also entertaining and thoughtful in guiding us through the menu. He’s a perfect example of what great hospitality looks like. We were so impressed with La Perla di Pompano that we’ve already made plans to return—this time to celebrate my wife’s birthday. If you appreciate exceptional Italian food, warm service, and a cozy atmosphere, make a reservation and experience La Perla for yourself. Highly recommended. Go and enjoy!

Google
Incredible dining experience with the most fresh and quality authentic Italian. Everything is made in house and the service is top notch. Plenty of options and they will happily go over any items you have questions about. Would highly recommend the caprese , gnocchi pasta and cannolis. Can’t wait to return in the future, 5/5

This little Italian gem in Pompano Beach truly has it all. I almost don’t want to write this review in fear that it will become an overnight sensation and impossible to get a table. BUT, because I love it so much, please do yourself a favor and have dinner at La Perla di Pompano. It will be your new favorite place. Thank me later. 5 stars in every category.

Google
The best pasta in Pompano, but don't forget the veal and chicken. We saved a bit of space for desert as well. They bake their own bread and you can tell. They also have gulten free options. Make a reservation be its not as big of secret as you you would think. You will be really happy.

The food was pretty . My pasta dish that was quite expensive did not have meat but everything else was pretty good. The service was pretty good

Yelp
Tireless hospitality, fresh pasta, and outstanding desserts made my experience at La Perla an objective five stars. The Old World ambiance and attentive, gracious service set the tone. While I do wish their wines by the glass were fruitier and less acidic, the fresh caprese starter was the first hit of the night. Liquid burrata, and with a perfect ratio of greens to tomato to cheese. For my main, I went with the pappardelle with porcini mushroom cream sauce. I do wish the noodles had been firmer. I sampled my friend's gnocchi bolognese and its consistency was better: firmer and with more bite. When they rolled out the dessert cart it was already obvious that we had to try it. I could have eaten that fluffy, moist, creamy tiramisu in 90 seconds. The Nutella lava cake, served with ice cream, raspberry, and a gorgeous dusting of powdered sugar, coated my tongue with chocolate and Nutella spread. It was so balanced.

Yelp
Hidden gem catering to a wealthy clientele in a quiet fancy Italian restaurant setting . Not at all cheap, but the food quality was very high and so is the service. A couple of choices my friend and I made didn't suit us, but I gathered that those choices were on us and not on the restaurant. Pasta could've been slightly more al dente /firm and was maybe slightly overcooked , but clearly freshly made . Dessert is a highlight and tiramisu is fluffy and delicious. Not bad espresso either.

Yelp
Ah it has been a while since we visited our favorite Italian. Wow, a whole new dining room. Romantic, perfect lighting, upscale. The Wines, our favorite' Luisa' a light and delicate Cab Franc. Entrees OMG. Upgraded menu. Veal chop parm. To die for. Porcini Wide noodles, Amazing. Afagoto to finish. This isn't on the menu, order it Impeccable Service. You so must go here

Yelp
If you're looking for a classic Italian Bistro, this is it. Great homemade food, they even bring out every dish as it's ready instead of waiting as it should be. I had the Tagliatelle Pescatore in real squid ink, hard to find that nowadays. Great night out. Good wine as well.

Yelp
This place is super worthy of the five star reviews! It's definitely a hidden gem in the area. Parking was tricky to find, you park behind the building, turn on the street before the building. Our server was amazing and took care of us all night long. We ordered a variety of items, including a seafood appetizer with red sauce, gnocchi burrata, and the flounder. The highlight was the gnocchi burrata, I wish I would've gotten two. The flounder was the only item that wasn't that great which was a little disappointing because it was the special. Everything was priced at a good price point. This would definitely be a restaurant for a special occasion especially because this wait staff takes great care of you.

Yelp
Best Italian food in all of south Florida! Quality food and ingredients with tons of homemade pastas and entrees. Service is always outstanding and the ambiance is like being in grandmas house. Truly an awesome experience and very time!

Yelp
This place has it all-- great homemade pasta, service, and ambiance. We came here to celebrate a person in our family and, La Perla Di Pompano did not disappoint! Having read all the wonderful Yelp reviews, I knew to make a reservation in advance. We parked in the back, and when we entered, we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. The restaurant is small with artwork of pretty flowers on the walls. The tables have individual lights and white linens. La Perla was busy and a tad loud, but the service was phenomenal. Our waitress told us about all the specials and was very attentive. Our waitress brought over a lovely bread basket filled with deliciously, seasoned breadsticks and slices of fresh cut bread. They bake their own bread, and it was absolutely fantastic. We cleared out the basket and they offered more, but we didn't want to be too full for when our entrées came. They had a special octopus appetizer. It came in a small cast-iron pan and had chunks of deliciously grilled octopus, along with potatoes, capers, and tomatoes. We devoured it right away, it was so good. My daughter opted for the Pollo Alla Tuscano, and my husband had their homemade pasta with clams. They were very pleased with their meals. I find it rare to see black squid ink pasta on menus these days., so when my husband pointed it out on the menu, I knew what I had to have. It came with a delicious red sauce and was chock full of mussels, clams, calamari, and large shrimp. It was fantastic, and I had more than enough to take home for a second meal the next day. While we did not order dessert, I did see samples of their desserts on a cart. They looked quite enticing! Our waitress knew we were celebrating a dessert, and she brought to our table a lovely custard-filled pastry drizzled with chocolate sauce. It was so good. Next time we go here, we will have to save room to share one of their desserts. La Perla is a small little gem of a restaurant. It's very authentically Italian and so nice to have in the neighborhood. They truly made a birthday celebration even better!

Yelp
Really nice and intimate restaurant. It's seems to be pretty authentic Italian food. We had the calamari, which was really good. I couldn't find anything on the menu to interest me and I was craving Alfredo, so I just asked them to make me an Alfredo pasta with shrimp and broccoli and they didn't disappoint! Yes, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for. Service was great too.

Yelp
Great local gem after looking for a new Italian dining experience. Lets start with the atmosphere, small, intimate and inviting. The food was amazing and authentic... we had lamb and my friend had veal... we both enjoyed our dishes. The service was impressive and attentive, great waiter! Thank you Will definitely be back on our next Italian food outing.

Yelp
An absolute hidden gem! All of the food exceeded our expectations! Phenomenal service! Our waiter was not only attentive he was personable - it felt like we had been lifelong friends! How often does THAT happen? Walk into "little Italy" right here in Pompano!

Yelp
My family came here while on vacation she we were not disappointed. The staff was beyond friendly and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the decorations in the restaurant and recommend it for anyone looking for a nice dinner out!

Yelp
I would give this place a solid 3.8, it was very delish but nothing I haven't had before. We started with the gnocchi burratino, it was good but once again nothing that was a show stopper. I ordered the special which was a grouper w artichokes, capers, sun dried tomatoes in a lemon butter sauce and this was SPECTACULAR. This dish is what is giving this place 4 stars, it melted in my mouth, like butttaaa. Soooooo good. I got a side of pasta w pink sauce and it was below average, needed some salt! But the fish was truly incredible!

Umer C.

Yelp
All I can say is WOW. The restaurant itself is small, intimate, very nice family type atmosphere, something you would expect to see in Little Italy in NY or something. The food was CRAZY good. Dare I say the best meatballs and veal parm I ever had in my life? Am I being prisoner of the moment? Maybe. Maybe not. Simply phenomenal

Yelp
Ambiance, food, service was wonderful. La Perla offers the freshest of fish and seafood. Everything is prepared in house from the breads to desserts. It is small so a reservation is highly recommended.

Yelp
We were so lucky to find this gem. The food was fantastic. Everything was fresh and made in house. Service was prompt and not intrusive. We are visiting from Iowa but can't wait for our next trip to La Perla Di Pompano. Chefs kiss!!!

Yelp
Still my favorite Italian Restaurant. Truly authentic Italian food. When I asked my son where he wanted to go for dinner his last night before going back to college he said La Perla. I called a week ahead and was lucky to get a reservation. It's a small restaurant and during season it books up. When we walked in we noticed Lino, the owner wasn't there. We were told he retired, there are new owners but Manuela is still cooking. Well, they haven't missed a beat. Food is still fabulous and all the original waiters are still there. Lobster Ravioli was unbelievable. Plump lobster filled homemade raviolis tossed in a delicious light saffron sauce with big pieces of lobster. Pollo Toscana- tender chicken sautéed in White wine topped with artichoke hearts, capers, olives and fresh tomatoes. Tagliatelle - fresh black squid pasta topped with clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari and salmon in a spicy marinara sauce. Food was excellent as always.
google avatar

Tracey S.

Yelp
I considered the food was average, nothing special and quite pricey. A major negative is they lack a liquor license so for some at our table who don't drink wine or beer, it was unsatisfying. I ordered the miso salad - $14 for a salad that was decent and lobster ravioli for an entree at $34. It had an oceanic taste. Service was merely adequate. The servers delivered the food to the wrong people. Bread basket was simply plain and chilled.

Yelp
First time with this establishment. Finding your way into the parking lot is a little difficult. We landed going around the block and coming in the back way, which is a lot easier. Very nice inside way different than this which you see here onYelp, especially the menu. The wait staff were informed, attentive, and very available. Food was excellent two of us had the chicken Milanese, one had the flat pasta, with a cream sauce, sorry can't remember the name and the other person had pasta with red sauce. All the main courses were great. Dessert was awesome, apple tart with ice cream, yeah, Lemoncello pie and piña cotta. Cool decor was very nice white table clothes, low lighting but not too dark. All around great experience.

Yelp
La Perla is truly a gem in the Pompano / Fort Lauderdale area. My husband and I discovered it by accident a few years ago and it has been on our list of favorite restaurants ever since. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and cozy. There aren't many tables so would definitely recommend making a reservation. The service is absolutely amazing. Last night we had the pleasure of being served by Jonny and he was just fabulous. So professional, kind and always willing to crack a joke and a smile. The other server Salvatore is also great! No matter who we end up with, we always leave feeling taken care of and extremely satisfied as everyone is knowledgeable and charming. In terms of the food, it is authentic Italian, so fresh, and absolutely delicious. Last night we started with the appetizer special which was a focaccia with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, arugula, burrata, and a balsamic glaze. It was seasonal and very yummy. I ordered the Gnocchi Burratina and my husband ordered the seafood special which was Flounder with vegetables and a delicious sauce. We both were head over heels for our entrees and couldn't recommend them enough. For dessert we had the Lemoncello Cake and the Apple Rose. Both were light and the perfect way to wrap up the meal. We also enjoyed an Italian wine off their extensive wine menu. Overall, we truly enjoyed our visit and couldn't recommend La Perla enough!

Yelp
New owners took over two years ago.... And this place went from excellent to excellent! Service is excellent....went last night, ie Wednesday 1/16/25. Had soup with lots of mini meatballs, probably chicken base, light and very flavorful Pasta with shredded sausage.had the non tomato sauce. Excellent and huge serving. Others loved their lollipop type lamb chops. Wine/beer good choices.

Yelp
Being from DC, and having great Italian restaurants here, I have to say this is one of the best Italian restaurants in the country! We not only visited it once during our vacation, but we went back a second time to bring our friends. Everything you order is cooked to perfection. The pastas are homemade and amazing. I ordered the first time the seafood in ink squid pasta. The sauce is flavorful, and there was a generous portion of fish, clams, muscles, etc. The eggplant rotini is a nice appetizer. We also ordered the pappadelli with the sausage tomato sauce as a half portion for an appetizer and it was to die for. The veal for my fiancé was cooked perfectly no knife needed. the second time we went back we ordered the wedding soup. it was flavorful and a large portion. The desserts are nice. We ordered the crème brûlée and the cannolis. Our friends really enjoyed the salad and ordered one to take home. The staff specifically Giovanni is exceptional. He was friendly provided great suggestions and is also a chef so could provide what ingredients were included. The other staff members were equally as friendly, and would say hi to you, as they walked past. Vanessa was wonderful, and took our reservations, accommodating us, so we could come back a second time. This restaurant should be Michelin rated and truly is a hidden gem.

Yelp
Saw this place on yelp as we were driving down the road hunting for a place to eat for dinner. The reviews were stellar but driving by we were not sure we arrived at the right address because externally the restaurant is no frills. Do not let the external appearance deceive you. You have arrived. Walking in and you will be welcomed by a charming Italian restaurant with a wonderful wait staff that are polite, knowledgeable and really a pleasure to be around. The team does not rush you between parts of service and the food was delicious. We had some off the menu and some on the menu choices and there was no issues whatsoever. For a family that doesn't typically order desert our family ordered 3. They were also able to split the dishes for our children and treated them so well that they wanted to create their own yelp accounts just to leave their own reviews. Also if you get Salvatore he is awesome and will bring a smile to your evening.

Yelp
Has a delicious dinner here recently with family while they we're visiting from out of town. All the food we had was outstanding and seeing what everyone else was eating around us made us excited to come back for more. At our table we had the beet and burrata special and bruschetta for appetizer. LOVED the beets - had a bit of orange slices and having a bite of everything was divine. Our table got the osso bucco special with the gnocchi, the black linguini and seafood, lemon chicken, and linguini with clams. We were in love with everything. We ate the pistachio créeme brûlée and molten lava cake for dessert and omg so good. It was a great experience in addition to a great meal. Our server was great, and we had a wonderful time.

Yelp
Amazing food, ambiance, and service! Will be back for sure! The special octopus appetizer was delicious, and make sure to choose one of their house made pasta selections; I chose the Gnocchi della Nonna. I am very picky about Gnocchi, and this one definitely meets the standards You need to try it!

Yelp
DISAPPOINTMENT!! One star is generous. Starting with stale bread and no olive oil, not good. The main dishes were tasteless. Veal pinata was from a frozen pre breaded package, worst I've ever had. The seafood pasta was tasteless and smothered in canned tomato sauce. THIS IS A 1 STAR RESTAURANT!!! The service matched the food. Yelp needs to start new ratings when the restaurants change hands.

Yelp
Just went for the first time with my boyfriend and his dad! We all are soooo happy! salvatore was our waiter he was so sweet! I have a gluten allergy and they were so great gluten free bread and pasta! Loved everything about this place will be back
google avatar

Yelp
This is a very small restaurant and reservations are absolutely necessary to get a table. The pasta is homemade and delicious! The portions are quite ample and most people will probably have leftovers to take home. The dessert tray looked amazing, but I was too full to try one of the delicious treats. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
1/18/24 This evening we invited friends to join us at La Perla. Our server Salvatore could not have been more accommodating. Tonight one of the specials was lasagna. We all decided to enjoy this as our appetizer. Manuela divided two entrée portions in the kitchen and it was served bubbly hot in lovely ceramic dishes. Everyone raved about the homemade pasta. One of our guests ordered the chicken Milanese which was served with a gorgeous arugula salad on top. His wife and my husband ordered the veal saltimbocca. Tender slices of veal layered with prosciutto and cheese. Topped with a beautiful brown sauce. They both enjoyed it very much. I chose to have the scallop special that was served over a creamy risotto that had spinach and cheese. The risotto was perfectly seasoned, al dente and the scallops were sautéed beautifully. We usually are not dessert people but we could not pass up the cannoli. I know that they were filled just before they hit the table. The shells were crispy and the filling divine. La Perla is an intimate dining experience and not to be missed. Thank you La Perla, Salvatore, and of course Manuela!

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service, cute little atmosphere. Our first time here but we will definitely return. A must try for anyone looking for great authentic Italian food.

Yelp
Amazing might be too mild a word to describe our recent visit to LaPerla. Service, cuisine, and price; the restaurant trifecta. We arrived on time for our seven o'clock reservation, and were seated immediately. Bruschetta arrived at our table immediately, along with a complete, but not extravagantly large menu focused on homemade pasta, seafood and chicken and veal. Table service was superb; our waiter was clearly a pro who provided efficient, well paced attention. Our entrees of veal saltimbocca and black tagliatelle with a variety of shellfish were both excellent. A desert of crime brûlée completed our meal. A couple of mild cautions: do make reservations; it's a small space and was full the whole time we were there. Don't go expecting Mt. Vesuvius on a wall mural. It's nice, not loud but not a pizza kind of place. It's an easy location to miss. Located just north of Atlantic Blvd. In Pompano, it's small and it's possible to drive right by. Parking is free but the lot isn't easy to get into. Leaving is better since you can exit from the rear. Figure about $50/75 dollars per person for dinne with apps, entree and desert . Wine is available by the glass or bottle, with a bottle starting at around $40. Portions are truly large. Enough for two, especially the apps and salads. Don't want this to sound like a commercial and I don't usually gush, but do give it a try. It's well worth

Yelp
Love the ambiance and the service is superb. Now let's get to the food. Delicious! That's what I say. Their food is delicious. I'm vegan & sadly there are no outright vegan main dish except the Spaghetti Napoletana. But, if you want to come dine in a place that'll treat you like family while you visit, order all of the sides & you'll have a delightful meal... especially the sautéed spinach. The sautéed spinach is the best in south Florida. Tell them Clay from Suriname sent you.

Yelp
The best Italian restaurant in Pompano Beach. From the very well put together menu, to the attention of the waiters. Everything is made in house and to order. Food is excellent, my favorite Strozzapreti Norcina, a must have. The owners always very attentive when I visit. Beautiful ambiance for a date, family dinner or solo dinner. Totally recommend.

Yelp
We (Clarissa K and Joan L) were here to jointly celebrate our birthdays with an emphasis on Clarissa, who was nearing her special milestone. :-) Our table was decorated with a birthday balloon-which was such a thoughtful gesture. The vibe is slightly upscale without being pretentious. The dining room is on the small side with a warm and inviting vibe. Complimentary bruschetta and garlic bread were delicious, but the star of the show was the Burrata and Prosciutto platter that included grilled pineapple and peaches, lightly drizzled with a very good balsamic. This was truly amazing and enjoyed by all of us. For our mains, Joan had the Tuna, Clarissa ordered Veal Marsala and I went with one of the nightly specials~ Short Rib Ravioli. I wanted to try a pasta dish since everything is made in-house. The Ravioli were sinful, stuffed with plenty of short rib meat. I was pleasantly surprised to find a large short rib (on the bone) placed on top of the ravioli. The meat was a bit chewy, and the sauce lacked sufficient seasoning. I wasn't at all upset because those Ravioli were outrageous and nearly six months later, I am still thinking about them. We were treated to three small cannolis and a birthday candle for Clarissa. Delicious! We were also treated to a round of house-made Limoncello. This was a bit strong for me but my girlfriends really liked it. We shared a nice sized slice of Limoncello Cake that was to die for. The cake was just fabulous. This was the perfect restaurant for our celebration dinner. Service was attentive, prices were reasonable and the food was good. I see Veal Marsala on my next visit, or Lobster Ravioli, maybe both if someone will share with me. There is a small parking lot directly behind the restaurant and additional parking located at the bank next door. We all found a space without any problem. They don't serve liquor, only beer and wine and reservations are highly recommended. Our leisurely dinner lasted three hours, which was great because we weren't rushed. We left in a good mood-happy and full. Wonderful restaurant! ***photo credit goes to Joan as I couldn't figure out how to use my new phone ***

Yelp
My BF and I met another couple here to celebrate her and my birthday. We were told it was a nice authentic Italina restaurant and that was no lie. The space is not big but comfortable. Tables are arranged to maximize the space they have, and sit as many customers as possible, while still leaving room to walk between them without disturbing anyone. Our server has been with them for a while and knew the menu very well. Thanks to him we ordered the carpaccio appetizer, and it was amazing. Raw beef is usually not for me, but this was the exception. Absolutely delicious. The "table service" Bruschetta are great too, and I dare you to restrain yourself on eating just one and wanting to ask for more. This was also my first time having squid ink pasta. If you are going to try it for the first time, I think this is the place to do it at. I was so impressed with it, I couldn't stop sharing with my table how delicious it was. And really appreciated our server making sure I would like it, before placing the order for me, explaining the taste the best he could. But I was sold with his description and so glad I ordered it. To celebrate our birthday, and as a very nice gesture, they brought out a chocolate lava cake with a candle, and wished us a Happy one. La Perla di Pompano is definitely worth all the perfect 5 stars it's got here, and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Celebrating our 11 year wedding anniversary this was a first visit to La Perla. It was an evening of multiple celebrations going on in the restaurant, several birthday celebrations in addition to our anniversary. The restaurant is clean, the atmosphere and ambiance lends itself to a quaint cafe setting. The service was good for as busy as they were, they were attentive yet you felt rushed which was a little disappointing. The food is five star , everything arrives made to perfection. Portion sizzle is above average Value , even with five star meals the overall cost is high .. Would I recommend? Yes for a special occasion, if your dinning budget expectations is less than $200 for 2 people with cocktails, appetizers, main course entrees and dessert then La Perla is not for you.
google avatar

Yelp
I wish I could give LaPerla extra stars. We had such an exceptional dining experience. Four of us dined and each ordered a different entree. Everyone was extremely pleased. The corkage charge is $25. The menu is reasonably priced. We had entrees, one salad, the corkage fee, and three additional glasses of wine. The check before tax and tip was $177. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and every table was taken. I have three recommendations: 1. Make a reservation or it will be difficult to get in. 2. Order your entrees shortly after getting your beverages. They are all made from scratch which makes them so exceptional but that takes longer to prepare. 3. Park in the bank next door. If I could only go to one restaurant when I visit South Florida, LaPerla Di Pompano would be my choice.

Yelp
What a remarkable little trattoria! The food is superb and the service is attentive and friendly. The interior isn't fussy, but it's well kept & inviting. It's definitely worth a return trip VERY soon! It's the kind of place where you feel like you need to eat your way through the entire menu!

Outstanding restaurant in Pompano. Worth the trip from anywhere. Food was as good as anyplace we've been to in our 3 trips to Italy. Shared a bottle of Chianti Classico and it was wonderful. Started our meal off with Pasta e fagioli which was a hearty serving and truly wonderful. Should not be missed. Wife had the insalata di Rucola and she really enjoyed it. Two of us had the beef short ribs with gnocchi on the side and it was delicious. Friend had the Pollo Milanese and he raved about it. Finished off dinner with chocolate Mousse, pistachio crème brûlée and torta di limoncello- all home made and quite the ending to our meal. We each ended with French press coffee which was as good as it gets. Service was outstanding from the moment we walked in to when we finished up. We never felt rushed and everything was explained to us from start to finish. This place is a gem and we all can't wait to go back with friends. One hint- make reservations. It fills up fast

Yelp
I had heard about La Perla from a few friends. The word was that it was a classic Italian vibe. We met up with some friends the other day to check it out. it did have a nice homey family vibe as we walked in. The older staff made it feel like many people may have been with the restaurant for a while. Our server was a really nice guy, who really knew the menu. He answered many questions, and explained the different specials they had as well. There was a few entrees and appetizers that sounded interesting, and it was truffle season too. But we started a little slow. We got a nice bottle of wine and took in the place. It did have a classic charm about it. a classic restaurant vibe, but classy. it wasn't too busy, but was definitely a popular spot. We did end up with a nice appetizer, but I was especially impressed with my main meal, the Strozzapreti alla Norcina. It came with black truffle, but they added white truffle as well for me. It was truffle-tastic. And the noodles, which were made on site(all their noodles are) were darn good. We finished with a couple of their desserts which were excellent as well. I like Italian, and if you do too, La Perla is a spot to go.

Yelp
This place it's a fake Italian restaurant Another restaurant claiming Italian roots but chef probably never visit Italy to learn how to serve some tagliatelle over seafood, last night this pasta was floating in a whole can of tomato sauce I returned the dish and leave this place after I pay 300$$ bill and at 10 pm I cooking at home Stay away

Yelp
This restaurant is incredible! The chef is the owner with her husband. Everything is made fresh from the appetizers to the entrées to the desserts. The white linen tablecloth really make you feel like your dining! The food is superb as you can tell by the ratings of this establishment. Thank you Gianni for the excellent service tonight. Everyone makes us feel like family there.

Yelp
One year later and our review is even better! When we step foot in the restaurant, it was like returning to the kitchen of a familiar friend - a friend who knows how to cook! The ambience at La Perla is so welcoming, and the quality of the food is as good if not better. Salvatore, our waiter, treated us like old friends, and was so knowledgeable about the wine that we brought - they have a very reasonable corking charge - and also our menu choices. The grilled octopus salad is a revelation! I had never tasted grilled octopus, and was surprised at how rich and flavorful it was. Marinated, grill, and not at all chewy as I had expected. It is definitely a dish to try. The veal special was so large that my brother and husband shared it and were happy that they ordered only one. My chickenMilanese was enough for two meals and my husband happily ate it the next day. The sign for the restaurant is somewhat obscured (- I hope you are not trying to keep this wonderful restaurant a hidden gem) but any good GPS should get you there!ciao-- y grazie!

Yelp
Great people and service. Ambiance can be worked on, a little "cold" feeling rather than a cozy Italian restaurant. Lower the lighting ! Food was good.

Yelp
Decor/service: upscale Italian restaurant. Only has about 15 tables inside and it makes it feel cozy. Servers were under staffed and they let customers know but they still provided great and friendly service. Food came out at a reasonable pace 5/5 Food- Bread: 2 bread options. Neither blew me away. Fresh made but just average overall 3/5 Burrata prosciutto appetizer: great dish. Good flavor all around. Good portion size to split 5/5 Pasta e fagioli: wasn't my favorite. Lacked flavor 3/5 Gnocchi della nonna: good flavor profile. Not a huge mushroom fan but they really made the dish. 4.5/5 Chocolate mousse dessert: little to thick for me. More of a heavy dark chocolate flavor 3/5

Yelp
It was PHENOMENAL I loved all of the food that I had especially the Nutella chocolate lava cake. The service was absolutely fantastic and so welcoming and fun, you could tell how much they really cared about their customers. It gave a classic nice vibe and was very comforting. Overall the food was great, the service was fantastic and so friendly, and finally the actual restaurant was so nice and well put together. I literally downloaded yelp just to write a review for this AMAZING place! I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
The location of the restaurant is about a mile away from the beach but please don't be afraid to join us locals on the inter streets of Pompano. In actuality the further you get away from the beach the better the atmosphere! This cozy first class Italian restaurant on US-1 is a diamond in the ruff. Everyone serving at the restaurant is dressed to impress, pls ask your delinquent teenagers to show up in more than a smelly t-shit and warn out shorts, or you can just leave them home and have an amazing date night with your significant other. There's no such thing as over dressed, most people here are geared from gorgeous to fabulous! The pasta is home made and the seafood is fresh. Bring your appetite!
