Hotel La Perouse | Best places to stay in Cote d'Azur

"Built into a promontory on the Cote d’Azur, with spectacular views over the Baie des Anges, this 1930s hotel has the most enviable position in Nice. The city’s pebble beach is just below, while a short walk around the headland is the port, where you’ll find less touristy bars and restaurants than along the promenade. The Cours Saleya flower market and Old Town are a few minutes’ walk away, too. Recently refurbished rooms all have balconies or terraces, and there’s an impressive heated pool built into the rock – the seafront balconies feel like royal box seats over Nice. Factor in an excellent restaurant, and helpful staff, and it’s a good bet for first-time visitors, or couples popping down for a romantic Riviera weekend. " - Dana Facaros

Google
Wonderful location and very nice service. My housband and I enjoyed every minute in that wonderful location. Our room was spacious and comfortable with the most beautiful balcony with view of the bay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, right in the heart of old town and on the sea. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Hotel La Pérouse and its exceptional team. I stayed for a brief visit en route to Cinque Terre and the rest of Italy, and the experience exceeded every expectation.||Before my arrival, I received prompt and thoughtful communication that made the process seamless. After a short ride from the Nice airport, I arrived at the stunning La Pérouse, perched on a cliffside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. I was warmly welcomed and provided with helpful insight into the property.||During my visit, I was able to tour several of their beautiful rooms—each offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. My stay was filled with personalized touches, a fantastic breakfast, and top-tier amenities. The front desk team was incredibly friendly and offered great recommendations for local shops, cafés, and markets.||The location is ideal—just a short and scenic walk to Old Town and its charming Christmas market, which was especially festive during my stay. Of course, the property would be equally beautiful any time of year. I only wish I had more time to enjoy the rooftop views and the stunning pool area.

Overall great hotel… Nice staff and very warm and welcoming …the room is bit smaller although we had a deluxe room and charge, anyways it was compensated by great Balcony with an awning …. So great place when the sun is out …||Good views of Promenade de Anglias…||Improvements :||1. breakfast it’s free for deluxe , but they still charge for omelette or hot stuff |2. The restaurant should be more considerate to Vegetarians or Vegan.. only one choice |3. The tours they recommend are good but be aware the guides just drive not explain about the place you are visiting

Loved this place, the staff was the most welcoming and helpful. The location is great, walk to so much in the old city. The rooms are nice too, big enough and comfortable. The hotel is a chopped up maze, loved it.

The room was not clean. It had what appeared to be shaving hairs in the sink. They were black so they stood out. It was so obvious and all around the sink that it was clear that the room wasn't either cleaned or cleaned on the surface level with very little care. I was afraid to look in the bed and sheets. Found curly black hairs there. Again, because they are black they really stood out. The sheets also appeared quite worn with holes. That's the bad. The good is that it's in a fabulous location right on the beach. It has a very quaint courtyard and I recommend a room facing the courtyard as it's fantastic. The people who work there are also very lovely and friendly. I'm not sure I'd return based on my experience with this room, however.

Had and excellent stay at La Perouse. The location is really nice, right on the edge of the promenade and old town. Easy walk over to the marina or new town. About a 25 min walk to either Nice train station. Hotel staff was very friendly and fun to chat with as I came and went.

Google
Fantastic location by the Old Town of Nice and by the beach! Very charming, pretty hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful outdoor restaurant patio where they serve breakfast and dinner and a nice but small pool. Beautiful views of the ocean. Room was a little small but we loved our balcony. Definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in Nice!

Google
It is a beautiful hotel, very well-located, and with an amazing staff. The view of the sea is gorgeous. I think that if the bed had been a real queen-size, rather than two small beds put together, our stay would have been perfect.

Yelp
WOW! What a wonderful experience last week during my 9 day stay. The location is very near the Old Town and walking distance to the railway station and trams. Three blocks from the produce markets and over looks the beach area. The room we had was #101 right near the pool with and outside entrance and small patio. The staff was awesome with meeting all our needs and made several arrangements for local travel, dinner, and rental car. I highly recommend this location. make sure you book via their website to get the free breakfast offer. If you use other hotel sites, the cost is 24 Euros. If you need airport transportation, they can arrange driver pickup in baggage claim. Wonderful experience!

Yelp
We booked with them for late May and want to cancel. They have refused to refund our money. They are closed for goodness sakes!! What on earth are they thinking of during the pandemic!

Yelp
Cons: Rooms were strange and dark. The hotel is a frustrating labyrinth--we were on the 5th floor and had to take 4 separate elevators to get there from the lobby. The hot tub was always barely luke warm and had no temperature control. Pros: the view from the 6th floor terrace is outstanding and hard to beat. Wish I had more time to spend up there. Staff is friendly and quick to serve you.

Yelp
This is a wonderful hotel and highly recommended. The staff is excellent, responsive, most spoke English (important for me, maybe not as much for others), and were incredibly kind, professional, and hospitable. The location is on the East Side of the old part of town, which means you're right on the beach and have the best views of Nice. The room service and hotel food was excellent. Our room had a patio overlooking the Med and I cannot overstate how wonderful this made our experience. There is a rooftop with a hot tub and a pool with restaurant service, but we spent most of our time on the beach which is across the street. There was not a single other hotel I would have chosen in Nice for location or overall experience. Very highly recommended. Also, I know this review is a little gushing, but I created a Yelp account (normally I read I dont post) solely to show my appreciation for this hotel. It was great.

Yelp
This hotel is an amazing location! The rooms are wonderful with beautiful bathrooms! The pool are is quaint and relaxing! In addition the staff is gracious and accommodating! My only regret we did not have more time in Nice.

Yelp
It's a beautiful hotel with a fantastic location. We booked a room with large patio Mediterranean Sea view and it didn't disappoint. The room is fine but the patio with retractable awning and fantastic view is killer. There are a couple of downsides. One being it takes a plane, train, and three elevators to get to the room. The other being the the pool and hot tub close at 9 pm. Not a bid deal in most places but we had the earliest reservation possible in the restaurant and didn't get to the hit tub until 10 pm and it was closed, what a bummer when spending this kind of money on a room.
