La Perrada del Gordo - Review - West Palm Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Colombian joint does borderline Seussian takes on burgers, hot dogs, and condiments. The headliner is the Gordo burger, which is about 75% pink sauce, pineapple jam, and crushed potato chips, like something a teenager left home alone might make. But the salchipapa hot dog, a chopped-up concoction of quail eggs, bacon, and more potato chips, is also pretty great. This comfort food spot works for family outings as well as it does for the drunken late-night crowd. Gordo is open until 5am on the weekends—long after other burger spots quit on you. So post up with a Postobón, grab more napkins than you think you’ll need (and even more than that), and create a personal splash zone if you’re there with friends." - Katie Walsh

After more than 15 years of visiting this local favorite, I can confidently say this is the best Colombian burger in town. The flavors are bold, authentic, and consistently satisfying. Every burger is crafted with delicious, fresh meat, and the combination of beef and chicken in their signature options is simply amazing — juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The quality of the ingredients speaks for itself. Every bite bursts with freshness, from the crisp toppings to the soft. The salchipapas are a classic side that never goes out of style. What elevates the entire experience is the amazing service. Friendly, fast, and attentive, the staff makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. After all these years, they’ve never missed a beat. If you’re looking for a place that delivers unforgettable flavor and consistent quality, this Colombian burger spot is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal — it’s a tradition.

Pretty real Colombian street food around here. Taste is pretty good and good portion. I ordered gordo burger 2 patties + pollo desmechado. My favorite. Customer service at store 5 stars, but online is always an issue. That s why I m giving the 3.

I had an amazing experience at Gordo Burger! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. It’s rare to find a place that nails both quality and vibe, but Gordo Burger delivers. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends!

I have ordered and dined at La Perrada del Gordo for years (even back when they started out with a food truck). The food has consistently been amazing and the closest I can get to eating a Colombian burger without actually being in Colombia. The service has also always been great but today, they really went ABOVE and beyond: I ordered for delivery via Uber Eats. I then got a call from La Perrada that they had missed giving a small part of the order to the driver. They immediately asked for my address to send out a separate driver with the missed item. Keep in mind my address was a decently far drive from the store. Even then, they managed to arrive quickly and as friendly as can be. Thank you so much!!!

I had a job in West Palm and this restaurant was close to my hotel and had amazing reviews! I decided to go after I got off of my shift and there was no line so I was very excited! The reviews all said that this place had huge burgers and they were not lying! I ordered a Burger and fries and the Burger bun was the biggest bun I've ever seen! It almost made the things inside look small or like it wasn't very full because there was so much bread! But the fries… the fries were incredible! Perfectly crispy perfectly seasoned perfection! I would definitely recommend as their service was quick and the people inside were very sweet to me! I would definitely go back! 👍🏼

Only TRUE Florida natives know about and have had a Gordo burger!!!! This is a FLORIDA STAPLE!!! This burger speaks for itself!!! Absolutely delicious and one of a kind!!!!!! 10 out of 10 (If you order online ahead of time before 6pm, pickup is on the left side where Uber eats picks up. Anytime after 6pm pickup will be on the right where it says pickup)

On a tip from my cousin, I walked into La Perrada del Gordo, a gem hidden away in an unassuming strip mall. Immediately, I was greeted by the rhythm of the music, just loud enough to infuse my walk with a bounce but not overpowering. With no line ahead of me, I asked the server what they were known for, even though I'd already set my sights on the Gordo Burger Mix. I wanted to see if there was anything else I might have overlooked. Sure enough, the server confirmed my choice, and as a hot dog lover, I couldn't resist asking for their best dog. She recommended the Perro Hawaiian, which I ordered without reading the description. Blind faith was my guide. For good measure, I requested sides of garlic and pineapple sauces and selected an orange bottled soda after she couldn't suggest a definitive drink. After grabbing my number, I settled into a table, letting the lively music and atmosphere fill the room while I waited. Before long, my food arrived, and the sight of the monstrous burger and hot dog brought a chuckle to my lips. The photos hadn't done them justice. Picking up the Gordo Burger Mix, I took the biggest bite I could manage, eager to understand why this burger is held in such high regard across South Florida. My first thought? Not bad at all. The blend of flavors, the sweetness of the pineapple sauce, and the interplay of meats all worked together harmoniously. As I continued eating, I could see why people rave about this burger—its distinctive taste sets it apart. But as much as I enjoyed it, I knew I had tasted better burgers in my time. Moving on to the Perro Hawaiian hot dog, I was surprised to bite into what I initially thought were cheese balls, only to find out they were quail eggs. Once again, the taste was solid but not revolutionary. A creative take, no doubt, but the best I've ever had? Not quite. Ultimately, La Perrada del Gordo is a great place to visit solo or with friends, offering a unique take on classic comfort foods. While it might not have clinched the title of "best burger" in my book, it's still a spot worth trying, if only to experience the infectious energy and flavor creativity for yourself. I'm glad I gave it a shot.
