How to Eat Your Way Through 24 Perfect Hours in Bogotá | Eater

"A compact, tourist-friendly market remodeled in 2017 with a Guache mural on its facade, this lunchtime destination benefits from a nearby office crowd so many kitchens serve late. It showcases traditional dishes from across Colombia and is a recommended place to try ajiaco, especially from the stand called El Concejal." - Pablo Medina Uribe

If you find yourself in Bogotá and are craving some delicious food without breaking the bank, you absolutely need to check out this market! Trust me, you’ll love it!

I really enjoyed my lunch en el Mercado La Perseverancia. Truth to tell, it’s not always my favorite to be bombarded by people holding menus trying to get me to eat at their restaurant. However, after making a circle around the place and everyone was doing it, I ended up with the first one that I saw. He said the magic words: sopa de mariscos en leche de coco con queso…or seafood soup in coconut milk with cheese. It was served with coconut rice, plantain, and avocado, y agua con gas. And it was absolutely delicious! I don’t remember the name, but it was right next to the stall with the famous celebrity Master chef. The live music was also very nice.

An old 2 story building, essentially open air, with multiple independent small kiosks. The food focuses mainly on typical Colombian cuisine; various soups, ajiaco, meat dishes. A couple of fresh vegetable kiosk and one live plants kiosk. It is typically crowded at lunch. Not all of the food kiosks are open during the weekdays but all are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available and there is adequate seating.

Part of a stop in our Food Tour. It's interesting to see a local food market with various fast foods being served. Lots of locals with families. The dish we had was delicious (not oily or salty) and filling. Go there if you wish to see a piece of authentic Bogota food scene.

Amazing experience here, found all I needed and more. We had a lovely time. Some of the staff can be disrespectful and not so cordial. Specially on the meat area. However it was still a good experience.

A vibrant, crowed, magnetic gastronomic mecca in the heart of Bogotá that provides visitors a means to taste traditional Colombian foods like beef broth, bean and vegetable soups, amazing fried fish and ceviche—as prepared by chefs from every corner of the country. You can also buy local produce at the stalls adjacent and support many small vendors. I definitely recommend visiting!

To taste the real authentic Colombia cuisine. You have to stop at the Perseverancia Market. They have different dishes from multiple Colombian regions. My favorite Pacific coast. Feel free to try and enjoy.

This was by far my favorite meal in bogota and maybe even Colombia…it’s a local spot with lots of stands of food - I got a shrimp and salmon curry / stew from the back and it came with an avocado / fish soup, rice, avocado, and patacones and was unbelievable and sooo much food! Everything in the market looked great so you can’t go wrong.
