"La Picanteria, the Peruvian export from acclaimed chef Héctor Solís, specializes in fresh fish sourced from the coasts of Chile, Peru, and Japan, with an ample showing of Santiago-specific dishes alongside the Peruvian staples. Choose from the open display of fresh fish and crustaceans kept center stage over ice, then pick your preparation from the chalkboard. While filets and other smaller dishes are available, the best way to experience La Picanteria is to order the whole fish in multiple preparations, from the unparalleled ceviche made from the belly to the crispy fried head drenched in a rich garlicky sauce. Top it off with an extra-large pisco sour for one of the best seafood experiences in the city." - Bill Esparza, Hillary Eaton

Google
The main menu is about choosing a fish (of the day... several options) and they will cook different dish depending on the size of the fish. Cold dish then several hot dishes according to the size of the fish you choose. It's a refreshing take on the average Peruvian restaurants in South America. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. I highly recommend!

Google
Amazing experience. They make the best Pisco Sour in town. I tried La Mar and Mestizo but this place got the best! We ordered Ceviche and Seabass roasted garlic. Both were amazing. Ceviche was classic and probably better than other places. Roasted Garlic was missing some flavor but overall we liked it.

Exceptional food and drinks, great service and a really awesome vibe - part of a cluster of several excellent restaurants but the Peruvian food here was delicious!

Delicious but expensive The food is great. Amazing achievement and brilliant ingredients. Service is also very good. However, for the setup and mood, I thought it was overpriced

they will charge you the corkage 70K CLP for a single bottle of my own whisky without telling you before they serve.

This is by far the best Seafood I have tried around the world!!!! From start to end it was amazing! I loved the concept of choosing a fish and they make 5 different types of dishes from it ( appetizers, mains and soup) The food was so good that I am willing to fly back to santiago just to eat at this restaurant again!

Yelp
We were rudely approached when we arrived at this place. It was 6:00pm during the week. They had just opened... NOT ONE CUSTOMER in the place. They asked if we had a reservation, we said no, walking by. They offered us the absolute WORST table, direct sunlight next to entrance. She indicated they were completely booked!!! We went next door, to Lolita's...BEST experience ever!! When we were done there we went by this place about 7:40, about 50% capacity!!! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE employees!!! She just want us at to eat at this place. They lost out of $100++ sales and we gave the server at the other restaurant a 50% TIP on a $100 dinner!!!! He made $50.00 USD on just one table!!!! Avoid this RUDE establishment!!!

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise to find this branch of a restaurant that I love in Lima, Peru now in Santiago, Chile. The food here is amazing! The seafood is fresh, and the creative preparations are awesome. If you have never tried your fish "escabechado", I would highly recommend it. The service was great, the server will always advise on what seafood came in that day, what is fresh and how he would recommend it prepared. I would definitely recommend "La Picantería", as one of your MUST seafood restaurants in Santiago, Chile.

Yelp
Had such a lovely experience eating at La Picantería! After spending a week hiking through Patagonia/Torres Del Paine sleeping in tents and eating sandwiches, we were eagerly awaiting a nice sit down meal to celebrate, and La Picantería did not disappoint. The spot is located in a multi-level, beautiful shopping/dining center (for those from NYC, imagine an outdoor version of the Shops at Columbus Circle). The weather was beautiful, and it was so nice being able to enjoy the meal under the pleasant night air. Reservations are preferred during peak days/times, but we were able to easily walk in. All of the seafood/crudo/ceviche was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Their pisco menu was overwhelming (in a good way), and the drinks were great. Prices were extremely reasonable - we over-ordered food to share as a table, and everyone had multiple drinks, and I think we spent probably not much more than $50/pp. We all left with happy stomachs, satisfied taste buds, and slightly buzzed. Highly recommend this place if you happen to be in Santiago and want seafood!

Yelp
The food is Awesome! I had the Garlic meal with no rice. YUMMY... The service was great! The server made great efforts to serve us by translating few orders for us. The atmosphere is great, seated under an umbrella enjoying great food & good music. I would recommend this to anyone if they would only try those menu items & the Ceviche.

Yelp
I first visited La Picanteria with a large group of friends for a night of painting, tasting, and sipping. We had the entire bar-side of the restaurant to ourselves and the food and drinks were so incredible I promised to return soon with my hubby. Then covid hit. So, finally, after 9 months, we did it and it was everything I remember. We made a reservation in advance and arrived to the center, the steps to which are now barricaded off completely except for one entrance and one exit. At the top of the steps, our temperature was taken and we were permitted to enter. Once downstairs, I was amazed at how completely transformed the space is now. Rather than a lot of wasted outdoor space, there are tables lining every corner, edge, and walkway. Each table is labeled for the specific restaurant (about 4-5). When we found the hostess stand for LP, we again had our temperature taken and were ushered to our table in the far back corner, which was nice and quiet. They brought us pillows to make the stone bench slightly more comfortable, and we scanned the center sign to bring up the menu. We perused the menu and could not decide exactly which dish we wanted because EVERYTHING looked so good. We started with a round of large (giant) Pisco sours and asked our server if the chef happened to have a tasting menu. He left to go ask and returned with a smile, at least I assume he was smiling because he was wearing a mask of course. He began by asking us what kind of ceviche we wanted and we agreed on the mixed seafood with spice. Next, he brought us one of my favorite Peruvian dishes, a causa with giant prawns. Finally, we had a delicious dish that had a sort of Indian or mediterranean feel to it complete with steak, breaded and fried mini potatoes, and a vegetable fritter. It was too much for me to finish, so I ended up taking most of the last dish home, but I was not too full to turn down dessert (never). The dessert was really special--I thought we were getting just a simple brownie, but it came with not one but two sides of ice cream (a second was in a martini glass), as well as blueberries. Rather than coffee, we also ordered mixed drinks of a Moscow Mule and a margarita, neither of which was nearly as delicious or authentic as the Pisco sours, but that is to be expected. If you have not tried LP, I highly recommend it. It's an excellent date spot and you will not be disappointed with the romantic ambiance and top-notch service.

Yelp
HAVE AGAIN: The sea bass (Adobado Y Dorado Pesci) was outstanding - best meal I had in Chile. So delicious. Empanada de locos was also vey good.
