La Pizza Napoletana Regalo

I searched Osaka pizza and i found this place. When i got here,i have to wait a bit. It was Sunday night. The owner was kind and active. He knew i was a foreigner and gave me a english menu right away. I had capricciosa pizza. It came fast and big and so yummy! They have a Italian beer. Birra moretti. I had a three kind of it with pizza. They had a time limit in table but it was ok enough to join my meal. Capricciosa pizza was the best one in my life. And i feel like to visit here again on a weekday.

The pizzas here are absolutely delicious and well worth the 1-hour wait! It is a true one-man operation, the chef does everything from calling in customers and taking orders to cleaning. It’s impressive to watch, but keep that in mind regarding the pace. Tips for first-timers: • The Waitlist: As soon as you arrive, find the list outside the door. Write your name and the number of diners immediately. We saw a family miss their spot because they didn't realize they had to do that. • Cash Only: Make sure to have yen on hand. • English Menu: They do have an English menu inside (I’ve attached a photo). • Portion Size: The pizzas are a great size but very light. I managed to finish both a Margherita and a Marinara by myself! • Takeaway: You don’t have to wait in the main queue for takeaway. Just head inside to order. Note: there’s a sign that asks don't eat your pizza in front of the neighboring shops. Overall the pizza was amazing and authentic.

A 100% recommend. Chef was so accommodating, welcoming & so professional in his craft. Felt like I was in Italy & the pizza was an amazing, had 11 slices by myself alone, 4 of us had 4 pizzas, tried the award winning Margherita, Diavola, Buffalo DOC & lasagne. A not so hidden gem of a restaurant, La Pizza Napoletana Regalo is an authentic Italian experience tucked away in a quiet corner of Osaka. Great pizza with a charming atmosphere to boot, the only limiting factor is how many people are able to dine in a night. Also, it's cash only and I tried updating the hours (google maps denied the update) but the restaurant closes at 8:30pm. English Menu is available. I have to get this out first for people reading and thinking of dining here. Please don't take your time eating here. Yes, you want to enjoy the experience but the restaurant can only seat around 10 people and while Chef does put a 40 minute time limit for dine in, I've see multiple people dine way past that (up to an 1.5 hours). Please think about the other people waiting after you and the lost profit for the restaurant. I've witness Chef have to deny people because it would be too late for them to get in. He is a one man operation and doesn't deserve any of the headache. Anyway, we waited around 2 hours for a table and were the last ones for dine in. Ordered the Margherita and Quattro Formaggi, the absolute standard issue of red and white pizzas and my go to way to test the quality of pizza places. I don't know why I was in doubt about authenticity, the reviews speak for themselves. The ingredients and technique are all authentic Napoletana. No adjustments here for local tastes. How authentic are we talking about? Well there was some Italian gentlemen dining before us that cleaned plate, invited Chef to the Italy pavilion at the Osaka Expo, and asked him out for drinks. I think that speaks for itself (Chef is also fluent in Italian). 🇮🇹🍕😆It really is as good as it gets. So if you are in Osaka, dare I say Japan, and want an authentic Napoletana style pizza, La Pizza Napoletana Regalo is a no brainer recommendation. There are other places in Japan that rival the quality here, but they are more popular and are even harder to get a seat at. If you have to get take out here, get take out, it's worth it. And if you are dining in, please think of others and the Chef, and eat in a timely manner.

This is a one man show in a small space that might seat 12 so hard to rate anything else besides the food though watching the owner/chef work, he is obviously a true artisan in his craft. But when it comes to the pizza, this is some of the best pizza I’ve had anywhere in the world. The margherita pizza was as good of a margherita pizza as I’ve had anywhere in the world. The sauce is amazing. We showed up early and were lucky to get a table right away but have heard of hours long wait later in the day. Bring cash as he only accepts cash for payment.

Good pizza but I wouldn’t wait hours for it. Recommend going 30min before opening because they open earlier than 12. Everything is self service, you need to go up to the chef to order your food. Also, you can’t spend more than 40min at your table after your pizza is serviced. Lots of rules to follow.

The man, the myth, the legend, it's all true and this is some of the best pizza in the world let alone Japan. It's a small restaurant, only 4 tables and we waited outside in the rain for about 45 minutes until it was our turn. First come first serve so show up early if you're hungry because there will probably be a line. We had the award winning Pizza Margherita and Calabrese, dough was perfectly cooked in his wood fired oven and just the right balance of sauce and cheese. Highly recommend you check out Regalo if you're searching for pizza in Osaka.

Beautiful pizza. We got the Margherita classic and the Margherita. The Margherita classic is incredible, up there for the best Italian-style pizzas I've had - the melted Buffalo mozzarella mixing with the sauces is perfect. The dough is great too, chewy but not floppy like many Italian style pizzas. The regular Margherita (not Margherita classic), was solid but not amazing. Price was super reasonable at 1.5-2k yen / pie. Great vibes at the place - the owner / chef is cool and interactive. Need to try to get there closer to opening to limit wait times to <40 mins.

Who knew you can find delicious authentic italian pizza in Osaka while vacationing Affordable neapolitan pizza , owner was extremely friendly even though he doesn't speak English but offer a menu in English! A must try in Osaka!

Solid little pizza place Hubby found it - I'll give him credit for finding a LEGIT pizza place in Osaka Menu was in Japanese so we had to use Google translate Got the following: both pizzas had the perfect crust so they both started deliciously Margherita pizza: 5 stars, sauce was amazing, perfect amount of mozzarella and sprinkling of basil White pizza with "ham and mushrooms": 5 stars, lots of finely shaved mushrooms. Very different from the margherita and very tasty Would definitely come back. Come early - I think he bakes until it runs out

It was very delicious! And fascinating to watch the pizza master make all the pies fresh, insert then in oven, rotating in oven - all with such grace and ease. It's amazing tv. The place seats about 15-18 ppl. Like 7 tables. Master chef is one man show - make pizza, serve table, collect money, bus table. For drinks u help yourself from fridge. He charges at end. The pizza flavors are amazing. Super fresh ingredients. I liked the tang in tomato sauce, and bits of anchovy. The crush was so thin. We were two ppl with two pie. It's not hard to find Japanese contestants winning top accolades in Italian pizza competitions. I say this not to diminish the victories of La Pizza Napoletana Regalo -- whose owner/pizzaiolo took 2nd place, out of 600 competitors from around the world, in the 2013 Caputo World Championship in Napoli, the birthplace of Neapolitan pizza! -- but to affirm that JAPAN TAKES PIZZA SERIOUSLY. His trophy is displayed near the door, though charming Italian knickknacks that make up the rest of the decor seem to get equal treatment. The mood is still Japanese: brighter than expected lighting, relatively quiet fellow diners, and a 9pm close time. (They ran out of dough before 8:30pm on a Monday, much to the despair of a couple tables, including ours, who wanted more pizza.) The space is cozy and seats fewer than 15, with the pizzaiolo in front of his wood-fired pizza oven, surveying it all. When you want to order, he beckons you to just shout it at him, declaring your gustatory desires over other people's dinner conversation. We are still in Japan, after all - otherwise, it'd be the perfect time to jump in and advise, "Get the Genovese!" (slathered generously with a rich, perfect pesto) or, "The Margherita is great!" (gorgeously blistered and practically eruptive with pure tomato flavor. This is the one that won the competition). Each pizza is 1300 JPY, or 1500 JPY if you want bufala mozzarella or the prizewinning Margherita. They're large, 35cm in diameter (per tacit Neapolitan pizza regulations). Everything is self service: grab beer, wine, and sodas from the wine case or minifridge (all bottles, including many beautiful imports from Italy). Get your own plates and glasses and olive oil. No waitstaff, no bussers. Only Mr. Tomohisa (?), churning out a surprising variety of pizzas at surprising speed. He's friendly and relaxed despite it all, towel bandannaed across his forehead, a guy who seems genuinely happy about sharing his craft. Ask him and he'll give you a black marker to leave a message on the wall. The wonderful pizza, the casual digs, his cool presence - all of it made for a really happy experience. I'll be back for sure.

My family and I had to wait a little over an hour to get a table for 4 here, but I think it was worth it. This is top-notch pizza. It's incredible that the owner does absolutely everything, and so cheerfully. We got four different pizzas and all were amazing. We've had pizza in Italy, NY, LA, Detroit, New Haven... this is up there with the best.

The chef makes an awesome authentic brick oven pizza! Crust and bread are so delicious and chewy! Pizza is even better than pizza you can find anywhere in the country. Authentic taste, and you can add honey to your pizza (sounds so strange but sooo yummy!). May be a long wait (over an hour) since there are only 14 seats in this tiny joint. He is a 1 man show but seems to manage it all. We were dying for American food so ate here twice on our trip to Osaka. Best kept secret in town!
