La Plume - Review - 1st Arr. - Paris - The Infatuation

"While you won’t be turned away for wearing jeans and sneakers to this rooftop restaurant, you may want to sport the good pair. La Plume feels very much like New York City: It’s inside the new Madame Rêve hotel (opened in November 2021), on the top floor, and diners who aren’t guests must enter through a separate elevator/entrance. In fact, the only thing typically Parisian about this modern Franco-Japanese hotspot is its amazing view of the gothic cathedral next door. The menu skews more Japanese, with highlights being the crispy fried avocado with dashi and green chili lime sauce and the tangy Wagyu beef tataki with black truffle ponzu. And while a big bowl of watercress and mâche greens with cucumber wasabi dressing for 18€ may sound a bit basic, if you’re looking for something refreshing and light on a hot summer’s night, this giant plate of vegetables will set you straight. Expect overly-eager service and lighting that will force you to use your flashlight to read the menu." - Sara Lieberman

Google
during our trip to Paris we had a dinner reservation at this beautiful restaurant, and it exceeded expectations. The entire dining room offered a stunning panoramic view of Paris, but we chose to sit on the patio—a decision we didn’t regret. During the day, the space was filled with natural light, and after sunset, it shifted to a warm, dimly lit ambiance that created a cozy and intimate setting—perfect for dinner. The food was impressive across the board. For starters, we ordered wagyu beef tataki, Madagascar shrimp tempura, Japanese fried chicken, wagyu beef gyozas, and edamame. The clear standout was the wagyu beef tataki, which we requested with added truffle—highly recommended. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, sliced thin, and elevated by a bright, tangy ponzu sauce that tied it all together beautifully. For mains, we had the angus beef short ribs and the duck breast. The short ribs were tender and flavorful but not particularly memorable. The duck breast, on the other hand, was outstanding—perfectly cooked to a rosy medium, tender, and succulent. It was served with slices of baked sweet potato, which balanced the richness of the meat perfectly. We also added a side of the mushroom hot pot, which I’d recommend for its earthy depth and how well it complemented the main courses. From the inviting atmosphere to the attentive service and well-executed dishes, the entire experience was delightful. If you’re in Paris and in the mood for Japanese–French fusion, this restaurant is a must-visit.

Brilliant place for a dinner. Staff are welcoming, food is tasty, cheque is reasonable. Not the best Wagyu are tried but good for its money. Cocktails are quite good as well.

A beautiful rooftop spot with both indoor and outdoor seating surrounded by lush greenery. We started with the popcorn chicken, which had a perfectly crunchy exterior packed with flavor. The beef tataki was one of my highlights — fresh, tender, and well-seasoned. The duck was cooked to perfection, making every bite rich and satisfying. A stunning setting paired with well-executed dishes makes this a must-visit for a relaxed yet elevated dining experience in Paris.

Great rooftop option with both indoor and outdoor seating. Drinks and food are delicious - but service is a bit slow but still decent. Recommend the whole fried fish and matcha mocktail. Cute spot for a drink or dinner.

My girl & me been here the first time in december 2025 and wow! What a great spot this is! - The service was nice and friendly - We had some great cocktails, the Feza was our favorite - The food was very delicious! We started with some starters and had some main dishes afterwards, amazing! - The spot is very beautiful and they played some great music! - Some might say the price for the food is high but my take on it is: check the menu before and if you don‘t like it don‘t go there, it‘s that easy Nevermind the haters, take your lady fellas and have a great evening with ur girl! Thanks for the experience everybody, it definitely wasn‘t our last time!

This restaurant and their staff were 10/10 from start to finish. Everything from the drinks, view, food and service were impeccable. Felt very welcomed and well taken care of! I would 100% recommend this place to friends and family looking to have an evening out without breaking the bank, the prices for the food and drink even though understandable slightly higher were very reasonable considering the area and what you expect. You get what you pay for as a whole when it comes to service and presentation!
