La Poblanita Taqueria y Banquetes

This hole-in-the-wall Mexican street food place is seriously good. I'd say it's competing with places like Biaggi's and Fogo di Chao with best food in the cities. Only criticism is the kitchen could do with a little more consistency. Ex. today one of our quesodilla slices was overcooked and my wife refused to eat it.

Very small restaurant next to a Mexican store. I would say this is best for take out. They have a few tables but it's hot and crowded. Prices were a bit high. Didn't include drinks. The carne asada tasted really good. Pictured; tacos dorado.

Came here shortly after my trip to Mexico City because i heard they had blue Tlacoyos like they make them in CDMX but only on weekends. So i had very high hopes as i have not seen any restaurants in the TC areas with blue tlacoyos. I went there on a Satuday right at noon and found disappointments. They were "out of" the blue corn dough so i settled for their regular tlacoyos which are just re arranged tacos and not like an authentic tlacoyo. They do not have nopal and come with sour cream on top (???). Their regular tortillas are on the dry side as well. Weird that they "were out" of the blue ones by noon already when the place was not busy when i was there. And I felt their asking price of $6 was quite high for a dish with no meat/protein but they were bigger than the ones in CDMX, but not by much and they cost 75 cents there. So this place is a good enough restaurant if you're local but I wouldn't reccomend going out of your way to eat here.

Tried this restaurant several times before writing this review. The food is inconsistent based on who is cooking. Carne asada torte was great one time but next time, it was just a mush of ingredients. You place the order at the kiosk but when food is ready, the pick up is not so clear. Will try again in the future but not anytime soon.

I don't give this review lightly. But man ignore the ratings. This is BY LEAPS and bounds the better authentic taco in Minnesota. Specifically the handmade tortilla Asada taco. That's as close as you can get to that Mexico tortilla that you can't find at any other place. And the asada meat was also incredible. Trust me get this taco

Yeah, it's a mall store, but holy cow it was good! You order on one of several kiosks and then wait. Our food for 4 took about 12 minutes. I had some of the juiciest birria tacos I've ever had. And they were spiced just right! Not too spicy, but loads of flavor. The consume was really good too. We'll definitely be back!

Went here to try it out. The food was great but I think the price is not worth it. Most drinks were out of stock which was a bummer, they forgot to include our salsa verde, but overall ok.

Food is straight forward and authentic. Great portion sizes.
