La Porta Restaurant

It’s been 3 years i try to get a reservation when i am in Bologna and finally i made it and it was worth the waiting! 5* in every way - from the food to staff and ambiance! A very elegant restaurant and splendid ambience. The food was top and i am already looking forward to come back. We had the tasting menu and every course was great!

As you enter the arched lobby of La Porta, the off-white floorboards and bougie reception bath in the soft, gentle light of the overhead lamps. As you enter the dining room, at once both vast and homely, with windows overlooking the hum-drum of cars underneath, tranquility seeps into every pore of your skin. From the second floor, behind a large glass panel, custom shelves display a large variety of wines, and the clink of utensils echoes back and forth. The lampshades are all identical, soft indentations creating a wavy texture and emitting a soft yellow light. It is an asylum from modernity, a space of peace and contemplation.

One of our favorite restaurants on our trip to Italy. The restaurant is beautiful inside. We did the "Flavors of Tradition" tasting menu, with the highlights being the pig and lasagna. The bread was amazing, house made sourdough and tomato sourdough were supreme. We also ordered the smoked onion appetizer and that may have been the best bite of the night. The staff was amazing as well, and although English was not their first language, they all did an amazing job accommodating us and explaining each of the courses. A lovely experience that I recommend to anyone and everyone.

We really enjoyed our dinner at La Porta Restaurant. This is a high class restaurant with super attentive service and a perfect ambiance. The food was also excellent, with most of the courses truly outstanding!

What a fantastic restaurant. Enjoyed the Tasting Menu. Food beautifully presented and delicious. Regional wine excellent. Wait staff courteous and professional. The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated including one of the nicest washrooms I've seen. Entire experience was unforgettable.

Very good food experience is this restaurant. The menu was bounteous et quite tasty. The meat was lukewarm though, and the plate was cold. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend this place. The servers did a fine job and even though it's a big restaurant you can still enjoy some privacy.

Michelin recommended they haven’t got a star yet but they are at the right level The tasting menu was superb we enjoyed every dish, and the Snicker dessert was amazing The wine pairing is very reasonable compared to UK prices Well worth a visit for a special occasion
