Absolutely loved La Porta! The food was truly exceptional – some of the best Italian I've had in a long time. The pizza and gnocchi were particularly delicious. The ambiance inside was lovely, but we chose to dine outside. While the food was still fantastic, the service out on the patio wasn't quite as attentive as it seemed to be for those dining indoors. Overall, a fantastic experience and highly recommended!

I have been back 3 times now since they reopened with the new Chef/menu. All the food items that I tried thus far having been very very good. Especially the muscles. Can’t wait to keep working my way through other menu items. I do like the changes they made. The service and atmosphere are at their usual high level. The bartender Melissa is fantastic. She is always incredibly engaging, gives great wine and food recommendations and always has an amazing smile on her face.

3/23/25 0 ⭐️ if I could 🤮🤢🤮 Let me start with this we’ve been going to Laporta for longer than I can remember. they were excellent even through Covid (most restaurants food lost thier Quality)! We recently learned that there’s a new head chef. 1 we asked for water it took multiple times to get( I know it’s starting off petty but read more) 2 no silverware 3 basically ignored cause they said something like it was a shift change. 4 The Tuscan fries are not the same and They Served at room temperature.( almost 0 taste) 5 The wings weren’t cooked completely as well. The skin had the texture of jelly. 6 Caesar salad, it was just cold Romaine and we had to ask multiple times for pepper. terrible grated cheese and clearly store-bought croutons. 7 The margarita pizza had good sauce and the bread taste fresh, but it was soggy in the middle, not completely cooked. I hope they get better, but sorry guys. This is the truth as of today

Wood-fire pizza was delicious! Topped w/fresh ingredients and had that perfect crispy crust...oh and their meatballs are a must. Ambiance was great- warm and inviting. The rustic decor and soft lighting creates a cozy vibe that’s perfect for both a casual night out and special occasion. Five stars!

Google
The 2-for-$25 pizza deal at La Porta is hands down the best tasting pizza deal around. Their artisan pizza is outstanding - cooked in a wood burning oven, with great tasting crust, cheese, fresh tomato sauce. We got the margarita and plain cheese plus a Caesar salad. Great service. Great people preparing your food. Worth a try!

Google
The bar service is the best in the area. The absolute most personable bartenders you can share a night with. Unfortunately the restaurant thinks they can charge top dollar and put no food on the plate. The chef needs to wake up real fast otherwise the more than often empty parking lot will become an every night thing. Have had multiple occasions of this but tonight paid $17 for a pork sandwich that had maybe 2 oz of pork on it. Disgrace.

Google
We have always loved LaPorta. Go for a lot of family celebrations. We heard they got a new head chef because it was closed for a little bit just recently. We were hopeful but so disappointed. Drinks were great. Server was wonderful. They changed the pizza crust. It was one of my least favorite pieces of pizza I've ever had. It was almost cracker like. Don't fix things that aren't broken.

Google
Ehh! What kind of Italian restaurant doesn’t offer bread?! Pasta dishes came out so watery I thought they brought out a soup by accident. Had an old fashioned cocktail that tasted like chewed up cherries with watery bourbon. Had to get my own silverware. I wasnt even offered dessert probably because it’s a list of the disgusting mash of ingredients. Terrible. Too bad because the place is super cool inside. Feel ripped off! Got me on this one. Not again.

Yelp
Stopped here after a round of Golf at Glenn Mills (has no bar.) Considered some of the "usual suspects" like Whelihan's, but this spot was recommended, and less than 10 minutes away. FAR exceeded our expectations. Tuscan fries were REAL hand-cut with strips of eggplant and zucchini.. treated with Aioli, Balsamic Reduction, Parmigiano. Hot and ADDICTIVE. Got a second order... likewise the spicy wood-fired "Bufala" wings... Spicy Orange Marsala Glaze, Gorgonzola, Apricot & Almond were unlike anything we'd ever experienced. Decided to try the spicy mussels, which were fresh and tender and just garlicky enough. Corstini were provided to sop up the sauce. Calimari were delicate, and delicious with tempura fried veggies. Had to try a dessert, and my Celiac-suffering buddy went for the flourless chocolate cake, topped with a few raspberries that cut the richness of the dark chocolate. Considering this was a bar menu, no more expensive than the chains, I consider this a hidden treasure. Great variety of drinks at reasonable prices, especially for the generous pours. Mature (but still attractive) all-female bartending staff teamed up and ensured we were never wanting for anything. Charming ladies. Will definitively return for dinner. If the bar foods are any indication of the talents of the kitchen staff, I'm certain the dinner menu will be outstanding.

Yelp
Unfortunately we never got our food, so I can't judge the food. We were not able to order, since our server completely ignored us for 20 minutes. We didn't even get drinks. We were the only table (2 people) outside, once a table with a larger party (maybe 10), joined us after 10 minutes, our server gave her attention to that table only, passed us at least 10 times, not even a glance, hello, or "I will be with you shortly". We felt like second class. It's very sad, since we passed this place for years going to NJ for work, we always wanted to stop by, but just too exhausted after work. After a perfect day in the sun last week, we passed the restaurant by accident and got excited for finally trying it out. So yes, after 20 minutes we walked out. Horrible service. We wound up eating at a cozy pizza place closer to home with immaculate service and a super attentive and friendly server.

Yelp
Been coming here for years. Tonight, Sunday football. Sax player behind the bar...piano player in the bar, singer in the bar. Amazing. Loud. Amazing. If you don't like fun. Don't come. Tracy, our bartender joked with us about the noise and I was all for it. It's Sunday Funday!! Ordered the Arancini and Calarmari. Always amazing. The goat cheese in the arancini is FABULOUS. We ordered food slowly cause we were watching football but chose porchetta sandwich and sporko pizza! Amazing. Love this place. Used to come Friday. Now I'll come Sunday for Tracy, Chaz and the atmosphere!!!! Worked on a new drink with a server tonight but missed his name. It's amazing. Drink it!!

Jim F.

Yelp
The food, cocktails and service was excellent and looks like a fun place for a large group to celebrate special events!

Yelp
Four of us ate lunch at LaPorta today. I had the omelette with crabmeat and I might have heartburn until Christmas. There was so much garlic in the crabmeat - why? Crab is such a delicate taste, why would you ruin it with all that garlic and why would you serve fries with an omelette? Why? The (dark haired) waitress/bartender definitely was not hired for her personality or pleasant demeanor as she had none. I felt like we were annoying her by being there and we didn't ask for a single thing extra. Lastly, step up your dessert game LaPorta, it's 2024. Flourless chocolate cake, cheesecake, tiramisu and crème brûlée were the only options offered. It's July not December, no fruit desserts or gelato desserts or desserts from this century? Maybe it was too much trouble for the bartender to read them? Not hurrying back.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were phenomenal! Our server during our time there was Owen, a wonderful, kind, informative gentleman that took great care of us. Today was my sister's birthday and he made sure we were enjoying our food and drinks every so often and was very attentive. Owen made it a very special night for her and we are all grateful! Everything was so good, I had to make an account to just post this! We love La Porta will most certainly be back soon!

Dzmitry M.

Yelp
A nice place if you want to taste Italian food with various proteins. It will be spicy and peppery and salty. We enjoyed our meal. The cocktails I tried were also great, 5 out of 5.

Jim G.

Yelp
We had an outside table and the band came on and table conversation was over. The restaurant should provide a warning or at least hearing protection when they seat you out there. I would describe the service as pushy and the food did not make up for it. The hostess had no sympathy for the situation and was snippy.

Allison O.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance all fantastic. Great place for celebrations or just casual drink and dinner at the bar.

Mallory D.

Yelp
A new Peter Mac restaurant in my backyard...what a dream! Husband and I have been following him since the days of Modo Mio and this beautiful and inviting spot lives up to his reputation. The space is so warm and inviting. It looks like they have live music just about every night. The night we went it was a guy and a guitar so nothing too overpowering, but complimentary to the fabulous meal and lovely time. We started with the appetizer they had on special which was a bbq rib situation. It was fantastic and I pray that it makes another appearance on their menu soon. I chased it with a red sangria which was perfect. For dinner I opted for the stuffed eggplant and my husband got the lasagna. The lasagna is poetry, whenever there are more than three layers of pasta and it is super thin I am pretty impressed and this lasagna was about 25 layers of perfection. I'm usually not a fan of gratuitous eggs on top of things but this one did not offend me. But the eggplant, gentle reader. The eggplant was nothing short of a culinary delight. The flavor and various textures of the nuts, raisins (maybe figs? Idk I am unrefined) and the cheese just worked so damn well. And even better the next day when I ate the second half. This restaurant is firing on all cylinders, fantastic space, wonderful service, and phenomenal food. I will follow Peter Mac to the ends of the earth but this time I'm really glad I didn't have to leave Delco!

Cathy S.

Yelp
Was charged twice for gift card. Frank the manager said it was taken care of. Many phone messages were not even answered, it has not been taken care of. VERY POOR SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meridith E.

Yelp
We always have a consistently good experience at La Porta. The pizzas and pastas are all great- I usually get the lasagna. The servers are typically knowledgeable about different dishes and wines. It's got dark wood tones inside and a great outdoor patio in the summer. They have live music on occasion. This is a staple meal when we have guests in town!

Martin F.

Yelp
Service sucked. Seemed as if you weren't a regular you were treated as a second class citizen. Sat at the bar with an empty beer for a half hour as the locals were served before me. Which is fine if you are only targeting locals. But I won't be back to be treated like a 2nd class citizen. Food is ok. Nothing to write home about.

James F.

Yelp
I love the lasagna here. The service is good especially the one hostess. The parking used to be difficult but they added a second lot next to the restaurant which helps a lot.

Delilah C.

Yelp
Okay maybe biased. For no reason. Look I'm Italian. Family owns brick oven restaurant in another state. Have had your pizza before and good. But tonight I am sorry to say have a horrible review. I should h e made my own. Upon taking home could already see was no where near cooked. No problem I can heat my oven and finish. That's where it got ugly. Tastes horrible. Like spaghetti sauce on a pizza. Sad. Just want to let owners know. Pay attention to what is going out your door. Otherwise nothing bad to say. Have to mention menu states to not ask to change anything on pizza ingredients (which I did not) because will compromise on quality and taste of pizza. Not true. Pizza sucked the way it was

Yelp
Came here last week for my girlfriend's birthday. I'll start with my one complaint, which I won't dock them a star for because it was minor and easily fixable: Please turn the speakers down when there's live music. We were two rooms away and had trouble hearing each other. I'd chalk it up to getting older than I want to admit, but it was so loud that our server misheard my order and brought me the wrong thing. And my voice tends to boom and carry, so it must have been really loud. Also our table was wobbly (to the owner/manager: it was the two-top by the fireplace). So two minor complaints. Everything else was awesome. The service was excellent. She was prompt and attentive but not overattentive. She was apologetic about getting my order wrong and offered to make it up to us, even though it wasn't her fault at all. I flat out refused because the dish she brought me that she thought I ordered was delicious. So I was happy and she had nothing to make up to me. Holy Christ, it was so good. It was the best meal I've had in a restaurant in a long time, maybe ever. I wound up being thankful she misheard me. The only part I didn't like about it was when I was done and couldn't eat more of it. Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere, otherworldly delicious food. I can't wait to go back. Just maybe turn down the sound when there's live music.

Suzette S.

Yelp
the food is delicious. it's a local place. I've spent a lot of money over time and always give at least 20%. is it to much to expect friendly service from the bar staff? they make a decent drink, how about some personality? disappointing.

Matt L.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place and we may give it a second try but our expectations were underwhelmed. It's less a quaint romantic rustic dinner spot, then a suburban/rural neighborhood pub with over priced meals and a small wine list. We did really enjoy our pizza, sausage, pepperoni and cheese with honey, as an appetizer for 4. My gnocchi was less dumplings of pasta and more like a rolled out dough cut into peices. The cream sauce and crab was good though. My wife had a crab cake that was nothing much to write home about. A friend had an eggplant dish with little flavor and his mate had a shellfish group on pasta which she said tasted good enough. I also had a house special cocktail old fashion with vanilla that hadn't been mixed and was way too sweet for my tastes. And oh yeah, they had music. It looked promising with a guitarist and mandolin couple, but when I asked about sitting on the deck/porch with the music, the host I wouldn't like it because they were too loud. WTF? But if you want to have some beers and pizza in a more upscale place, go for here.

Michael R.

Yelp
Been here a few times now- consistently does a great job. Friendly staff- great food- very welcoming atmosphere. Love the fireplace atmosphere as well as the live music jam in the bar area. The entrees are excellent- and we have even ordered delicious pizza for take out. Highly recommend.

Joseph S.

Yelp
Excellent food, quaint atmosphere, great bar. I have had a sit down dinner with friends here, and have met others for appetizers and drinks - love the place

Imani W.

Yelp
A true gem! The decor is beautiful and the food is great. Went for a company dinner and we probably ordered everything on the menu. My table ordered Calamari 10 out of 10 Cozze in white sauce 10 out of 10 Zuppe del Giorno 9 out of 10 Carne 9 out of 10 Biscetta 10 out of 10 Spinach and artichoke hummus 8 out of 10 Tuscan Chicken 9 out of 10 Gnocci 10 out of 10 Stuffed Portobello 9 out of 10 Flourless Cholocate Torte 8 out of 10 Oreo Cheesecake 9 out of 10 Both Sorbettis 9 out of 10

Tom E.

Yelp
The pizza was fantastic tonight. Please post the Go Fund Me for the pizza man hurt on the fire.

Arif U.

Yelp
is the 3rd time I guess I was looking for punishment. We came for dinner for celebrating my daughter's birthday. The 2nd time the food was good but service could have been a lot better. Now for the 3rd time, we waited over 10 minutes to get service, 2 high school girls serving high school girl as a host no senior member staff or a manager, she had no clue on the menu!! Or any Mocktail beverages, as she took our order our appetizers came out late. The greatest part was she forgot my order, as the runner came out with our Entre', the food runner and server was discussing my order, I over heard she did not remember my order. later she came apologized that they did nothave the item available. I immediately asked for the manager or the head chef, but no one was available and how in the heavens do you run a business without any supervision or ownership, unacceptable for any restaurant specially these days and they're hungry for business again unacceptable. I will never ever go back to this dump

John G.

Yelp
Friends took us there for dinner . 3 out 4 platters were salty as could be and inedible. We didn't complain, they paid the bill and we left . I'm sure that bill was expensive and this place should be ashamed of what it's putting out . Never again , The End!

Jeanette W.

Yelp
Love their gluten free pizza! Absolutely the best in town by far. I also love the ambiance while sitting at the bar with my husband where we can have good conversations with the bar tender while enjoying delicious food and service along with amazing drinks. Highly recommend!!

Christopher M.

Yelp
My wife, our friends, and I visited this restaurant on a Friday night after experiencing the haunted attraction down the road. We didn't have a reservation but the four of us were somehow able to find space at the bar to order drinks and food. In part of the restaurant, there was seating and live music for the guests. In the part with the bar, there was great American classics like Stevie Wonder being played and the TVs had the 76ers game on. I was thoroughly entertained by the setup. The pizza we ordered took some time but it was a busy night so that was understandable. The servers were nice, helpful, and attentive. Nice experience overall.

Pat B.

Yelp
Excellent! Great bartenders. Pizza is great. Unbelievable Happy Hour and reasonably priced for all menu items. Recommend to all! Keep up the terrific job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Margherita Pizza and Music.

Joann R.

Yelp
The food lacked taste & it was way over salted! I really hope this was a one- off night. The service & drinks were good.

Leo S.

Yelp
A friend and I went Friday night for dinner. It's a small restaurant, but we didn't feel crammed. I would describe the ambience as laid back and sophisticated. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few appetizers, one of them being scallops (pictured). We also ordered a piece of cheesecake for dessert. Overall, the food was excellent! The price was reasonable and the service was good. I can't wait to return at a later date.

Sarah K.

Yelp
The waiter Matt was incredibly rude. He rushed around all night and handed us our drinks instead of placing them at our table. He barely gave us the time of day all evening. The room was incredibly loud and hard to have a conversation in. The food was just okay.

Holly D.

Yelp
Go on a Sunday. Delicious fixed price meal with pasta. Crab in summer? Slow roasted Sunday sauce in colder months Acoustics in main bar a little bit tricky but there is a table you can request and it is perfect for trapping small children to keep them from running amok.

Bonnie M.

Yelp
I am very saddened with what used to be a really good place. The calamari was supposed to have a cherry pepper relish. What they did was take yellow hot pepper rings and breaded and fried them with the calamari. What you see on the plate is an abundance of pepper rings and not much calamari. Very disappointing for the price they charge ($15). The gnocchi was supposed to have lump crabmeat, for $28 it had a scant tablespoon of tiny flakes of crabmeat. Not the restaurant it used to be. Probably will not go back.

Fred D.

Yelp
I used to just drive by but ever since I decided to come in and eat I have been a happy loyal customer. The service is very warm attentive & the food is far superior to most area restaurants. The specials are inventively Italian. The wine choices are great & I love wine. It's damn hard to get a good glass of wine in the suburbs. They never disappoint. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Matt M.

Yelp
We really love this place. It's sort of out in the country but not that far away and the food is fantastic.

Shae' G.

Yelp
10/10 the mussels were top tier . The service was amazing ! I can honestly say I did not have any issues or problems with my food. The drinks were tasty as well . The restaurant atmosphere was very calm & reminded me a little bit of Italy almost .

Lynne B.

Yelp
My dinner was entitled Angel Hair. I went for this lovely name and I was perfectly proud of picking the best Angel Hair Ever!!

Michael P.

Yelp
I was there for the first time last night.. I sat at the bar with a some friends. Cozy little place place, friendly. They have a reasonable selection of beer. A little on the pricey side but that's the kind of place it is. I had a margarita pizza and it was very good. Great location, it's not in downtown Media but rather rather out on 352, great for those who dislike the Media parking situation.

Almira R.

Yelp
Awesome place great happy hour. The staff is so personable. The music is there several days a week

Dr. F.

Yelp
Great classic thin crust pizza!! They use high quality dough for starters, a nice zesty sauce and very fresh toppings! Que Bella!!

Bj R.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my beet salad. My daughter had been here before and suggested the lunch menu was affordable. She enjoyed her fig/prosciutto pizza. My husbands lamb burger was the best and he shared with us. Server was pleasant. We'll be back!

Sheila T.

Yelp
The food was delicious, and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent. The ambience was cozy.

Melissa G.

Yelp
Love La Porta! I have been there twice now, both great experiences! Rustic dining area, super responsive and kind staff, and great food! We ordered off the menu & specials, both meals were awesome! My only somewhat negative comment is that it can get loud but I also think that is reflective of a fully packed restaurant with happy customers! Enjoy!

Robert H.

Yelp
Took friends there for an 81st birthday party. I make home made pasta at home and this was exceptional. It is now my go to Italian restaurant.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Awesome burgers Great staff Kind people Its a beautiful place for family dinner or date night! Make a reservation!! You won't be disappointed!!

Overhill F.

Yelp
Stopped in for drinks with a friend and liked the welcome reception we received. Bar server was very friendly and the other guest seemed to be enjoying the food. We decided to stay. We ordered from a happy hour menu, Caesar salad, meatball sliders, mussels in white sauce and a Pizza. Everything was excellent and served hot and fast. Draft beer very cold and a delicious piece of cheesecake for desert. will be going back very soon to try the dinner menu as everything coming out of the kitchen looked awesome

Karen F.

Yelp
5 star food and 3 or 4 star service for this update on Peter Mac's delightful La Porta on route 352 in Media. Ate here for the first time in over a year and the late spring/summer menu is wonderful with crisp salads, pizzas, pasta and rich, flavorful entrees. My pork cutlet stack with fresh mozz, spinach and peppers was so delicious and a generous portion. I took about 1/3 home and enjoyed it the next day. The bar was hoppin' on a Monday night and my Cranberry Moscow Mule was served icy-cold in the requisite copper mug. Deeeee-licious. Can't wait to come back.

Bob A.

Yelp
This restaurant definitely has the best quality of food in the Media/Glen Mills area. You can taste the fresh ingredients in every dish and the chef sure as heck knows what they're doing. Service is great we love when we go to a restaurant a couple times and the waiters get to know you on a first name basis. We even get take out gourmet pizza which I highly recommend. You can't beat the take out deal 2 pizzas for 20 bucks!! Only thing I would warn customers of and it's not a huge deal it's a old building and the dining room is chilly in the winter time so dress accordingly. PS... Tracy is the best bartender!!!

Bill S.

Yelp
Another great meal , gnocchi had an abundance of Crab for only $28 it was a steal!! Nachos were good but the pork sandwich was a home run !! Can't wait to go back , service was awesome as always. It was a little Warm as the place got packed but the food was Well worth it!

Renee D.

Yelp
So disappointing! Use to be one of my favorite places. Lunch with girlfriends was absolutely terrible. Out of anything with chicken at 11:30 a.m. I ordered the Porchetta sandwich. It was literally unrecognizable. Tasted it and could not figure out what I was eating . Sent it back. Have never sent a meal back in my life ! Service was horrible as well . An hour wait for two sandwiches and an omelette !!! Won't be back. Try Casa Mia in Media.

M. S.

Yelp
Disappointing. Wait staff very inattentive. It was obvious they just wanted to turn the table over to the next sets of customers. Food was just okay. We enjoyed the creative Tuscan nachos, but the entrees weren't anything to write home about. The place is loud, the tables are cramped, and the prices are on the high side. Parking is terrible. I can see coming here for drinks and appetizers, but disappointing for dinner. And the wait staff were very uninterested in providing any kind of service.
