"The spa itself oozes elegance with plush chairs, momentous flower bouquets, and dramatic lighting fixtures. The facials are just as extravagant: During the Ultimate Platinum Rare treatment, one aesthetician massages your face with firming creams, while another simultaneously works on your feet. The epitome of over-the-top pampering is the $1,250 White Caviar Illuminating Facial that smooths, intensely hydrates, and lifts with turbocharged, nourishing caviar extracts."

First massage here after living in the city for 5 years — had an amazing experience! Eddie was a great massage therapist! Checked in multiple times during my massage to check on my comfortability and gave me insight as to why I was feeling so tense in certain areas! When you’re here ask for Eddie!!!

The best spa experience I've ever had! Eunice and Anderia at the front desk were personable, helpful, generous getting me everything that I needed and desired. Erin gave me the best massage I’ve ever had in my life. As a working mother to a toddler, it was the most relaxed and taken care of I've felt since I can remember!

I scheduled a caviar pedicure for 70 minutes. I received maybe 20 minutes of actual treatment. When I explained what happened, the manager apologized and made me pay $ 90 and actually felt good about it!! Downgrading payment is actually not ok when the service is beyond subpar.

Had an incredible experience at the La Prarie spa with the team at the Ritz Carlton Central Park. I was welcomed by Andrea and Lori who were extremely warm, accommodating, and took care of me as I got settled in. My massage with Matthew was the most effective and best massage I’ve ever received and released and relieved years of pain and tension. Finally, my facial with Mary was soothing and relaxing and she worked her magic on my skin. I will be coming back here and hope the same team is there as they were absolutely fantastic.

I will never go to another spa ever again. This place is too good for words. There is truly nothing like this incredibly decadent experience at La Prarie Spa. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by an incredibly warm and smiling staff there to make you feel comfortable and wonderfully relaxed. Immediately, you are asked if you want anything (I opted for an almond milk latte - which was baller), and munched on some nuts and dried fruit. Then I was called by the lovely Rachel to get the caviar mani/pedi treatment. I’ve never been a huge fan of eating caviar, but I am certainly a fan of putting it on my body. The treatment was beautiful! You get to choose your own music, and are whisked away for 2 hours while she transforms your hands, feet and nails into true beauty. My feet have never looked that good. Afterwards, Rachel took me back to their gorgeous lounge (which they have just recently undergone renovations), where she brought me a crisp glass of bubbly and a few mini desserts to try. I could have died from happiness. I waited for my nails to dry and then went to use their steam room, showers (their shampoo and conditioner smells delightful), and their beautiful La Prarie products they leave for your use in the locker room. The face wash is top notch. I think I spent like 4 hours there. Best 4 hours you will ever spend. Real life seems so distant in there while. You leave relaxed, happy and maybe a little tipsy (the champagne is very good lol). Worth every penny. I’m taking my mom next time.

While the massage itself was excellent, my partner and I were asked to take our champagne glasses outside the spa. Felt really rude to be quickly ushered out like that after a relaxing experience. The person at the counter asked us to go to the mezzanine level which had no space to sit and we ended up in the lounge in the lobby (which we would been happy to go to if she had pointed us there in the first place). It felt like she wanted us quickly out of there, which downgraded the whole experience!

Today was a true pleasure! My husband and I both had massages and we are thrilled to say we have found our new favorite NYC escape! The spa was beautiful and the staff was exceptional! Be cannot wait to come back!

Google
Great spot and very accommodating team! If you’re in the area and need a massage, I’d recommend La Prairie 🙌 I saw a few negative reviews but wanted to give it a try myself and after doing so, I’m happy I gave it a try. To be fair, I went on a Tuesday which is probably a more low-key day than Thursday-Saturday. Regardless, the steam room, shower, and massage were just what I needed. They have some good refreshments as well along with mixed nuts and some dried fruit to snack on. I didn’t see that they let you select an individual masseuse but if you can, request Shamar! I knew my lower back was hurting so I asked her to focus there but she found other areas that needed work and I felt amazing afterwards. Thank you Shamar 🙏 Lastly, some comments I saw mentioned it’s a small spa. This seems like a “no-duh” sort of thing in NYC. Limited and expensive space, especially near Central Park, isn’t going to provide a large spa like other locations might. Overall, great experience here and if you go, I hope you enjoy it too! PS - No pics on this one. I don’t feel good about taking pictures in spas.

Yelp
The spa met my expectations, the massage exceeded them. This is obviously retrofitted into an old hotel, not a luxury spa built from the ground up. I thought they did a great job with the space. The locker room was small but had several amenities offered like a steam room and showers as well as full choice of hair care items. The womens lobby had a few light snack choices like fruit, tea, and nuts. We were definitely glad we grabbed dinner at the bar before going. The massage was the best ive ever had. Eddie is truly gifted. I prefer a firmer pressure and he delivered consistently throughout the massage without me needing to ask for adjustment.

Yelp
I had an amazing deep tissue massage today with Eddie (a/k/a Eddie Murphy lol)!! His technique was skillful and he is extremely professional and has a wonderful personality. One of the best massages of my life. I will return for sure the next time I visit NYC!! Thank you again.

Yelp
Lovely massage, great staff, okay facilities. La Prairie Spa located in the Ritz Carlton Central Park is an intimate spa with great service. The Womens locker room has a hot steam room and showers, but no sauna, pool etc. There is a relaxation room with a choice of tea / champagne, but bare minimum snacks. There are no other details that one would expect at a luxury spa such as heated chairs, cold cucumbers, chilled towels, etc. My caviar massage with Laura was one of the best massages I've ever had, which easily made up for the lack of facilities. Come here if you're looking for a good massage; do not come for the facilities!

Yelp
Visited La Prarie at The Ritz-Carlton for a 60-minute Signature Facial. The facial was relaxing and at the end my face was glowing! The esthetician was very knowledgeable and explained what would be done during the facial prior to starting. The treatment bed is heated which is always a plus on a rainy NYC day! The spa is small however the design is beautiful and the steam room was the best steam room I've ever used. Would highly recommend visiting this spa and look forward to returning in the near future!

Yelp
Very disappointed at the Ritz Carlton. I booked 3 services for my husband birthday and he got very sick. I offered to reschedule or even take a credit. They would not budge on their cancellation policy. For a place that's supposed to be 5 stars they need to add some humanity to their motto. To lose out and have to pay for all of the services we DID NOT receive because he was sick was unfair. I could of gotten any proof they needed. What about the unexpected. What if he had Covid. Should we just come because if not we lose all of our money? What a shame. What could have been a long standing relationship with the Ritz Carlton now turns into having no desire to ever book at this place again. Sometimes getting a quick dollar isn't worth what could of been a long standing relationship.

Yelp
if I could I would give the spa ten This is an example of excellent customer service as well as the best of the best spa services in the USA !!! I travel a lot for work but always try the spas at my hotels after taking red eyes This spa had the best facial and massage therapist I haves in the USA Andrea is at the front desk to welcome me by name !! The changing room is always very very clean . It has everything to use to get to dress afterward yo start my day of work Management of this Ritz is over the top But I stay at this hotel because of the spa Congratulations to Ritz for this Gem !!!

Yelp
Seriously book an appointment. You will not be disappointed. This is money very well spent. Best massage of my life. Walked out feeling so light and relaxed. A few things I didn't know before I got here. 1) there are light snacks in the lounge (berries, tea etc) 2) there are showers with stocked with shampoo conditioner. 3) they have hair dryers and styling products/tools as well so you can leave looking put together.

Yelp
Visiting this Spa was one of my best experiences ever. I got a microdermabrasion facial, and my skin is still feeling baby smooth days later. The esthetician was super attentive and gentle. I feel like the entire staff went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable. Very relaxing. Would recommend this place to anyone.
google avatar

Vivian V.

Yelp
The best of the best spa experiences. I booked a microdermabrasion facial and my facialist was Mary. She was incredibly knowledgeable and sweet, gave me a run-down on the condition of my skin and offered tips on what to do post-treatment in order to reap the most benefits. The environment itself was very luxe (but you probably already knew that). In a very seemingly pretentious atmosphere, it was a breath of fresh air to have encountered very sweet and courteous staff members. The spa has showers and a steam room to use, as well as a lounge area for pre/post appointment. My only regret was that I didn't have enough time to use all of the amenities (had another appointment after my facial appointment), so I would suggest saving at least an hour after your appt to lounge around and relax! ...I was also introduced to my newest obsession here: the la prairie cellular eye contour cream...my newest holy grail product that I've recently added to my skincare regimen... it's incredible!
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Go here for a facial. Ask for Mary. You're welcome. In all seriousness, this has been my go-to place (read: ONLY place) for a facial since I was 18. My mother and I were looking for a facial for me, and I have very sensitive skin, so the ones I had in the past were causing me to break out in hives. My mother found that a lot of celebrities went here, and we decided to give it a try. She has treated me to a facial on my birthday for 8 years now, and I've had Mary since the beginning. They listened from the start about my skin needs, and they were never concerned. The desk staff are very friendly, and I always feel welcome. They offer drinks and food, and they never have an issue with my mom sitting in the spa lounge area while she waits for me. I can't say enough good things about Mary herself. I genuinely look forward to my time with her each time. I've grown up with her, and seeing her is always like seeing an old friend. She is also incredible at what she does. My skin looks like a million bucks after the treatment with her, and I've never had any issues at all with any of the products she uses. This place is worth every penny to me. See you next year, Mary!

Yelp
The way I spent Saturday, January 4, 2014 was the best way to kick off the New Year. For our 1 year anniversary in December and my Christmas present, my boyfriend surprised me with a day at La Prairie for the Total Escape spa package. The package includes a mani/pedi, a facial, followed by a massage. Best boyfriend ever! We arrived early for my 11:15 AM appointment. The receptionists at the front desk were so welcoming. They took my coat and scarf while Matt checked me in. He took care of the payment and even the gratuity. I hugged and kissed him and the ladies told him to pick me up at 3:30 PM. Wow! Over 4 hours later! It was then that I realized I was in a for a long day of decadent relaxation! I was taken to the locker room and given a brief tour of the showers and steam room. I undressed, changed into a robe and slippers and went to sit in the lounge, where I enjoyed a delicious glass of crisp champagne. I was given a list of their music selection and was told to pick my favorites so I can tell them what to play during my treatments. Fifteen minutes later, Raynell came to pick me up and told me that she would be my manicurist. She took me to a room with the most amazing mani/pedi chair that I've ever seen. It looked like a regular chair until she removed a cover and there was a nice little bubbling steam bath for me to dip my feet into. I chose a nail color from their Deborah Lippman collection. After, I loved learning that the name of it was " Since I Fell For You." How fitting since this was a gift from the BF. The mani/pedi session lasted nearly 1.5 hours. I was so relaxed and Raynell was so nice. My fingers and toes had never looked better! Raynell took me back to the waiting room and gave me a glass of champagne. This time, I helped myself to some strawberries. Carolina picked me up for my facial. I've never actually had a facial before so I didn't know what to expect. The champagne had really helped me to relax. The idea of having someone examine your skin under such scrutiny and bright lights definitely frightens me. But I was so relaxed that I told myself I was in good hands. Indeed, I was! I dozed off for a bit during the facial, but woke up to feel my face. It was so smooth and soft. I've never felt my skin like that before! Back in the lounge, I was so relaxed and cozy that I couldn't believe that outside, NYC had just endured a major snowstorm. I sipped more champagne and ate more strawberries. This day was just too good! Laura picked me up for my massage. I was really looking forward to this part of the spa day since I carry a lot of stress in my shoulders. The 1-hour massage with Laura was too good. She paid extra attention to my shoulders and topped off the massage with an amazing head rub. After, she waited outside the door with a glass of water. I enjoyed the water in the lounge. I looked at the time and it was 3:15 PM. How the day just slipped away! I went to the reception area when I couldn't unlock my locker to find Matt waiting for me. He looked so happy to see me so relaxed and stress-free. I told him I'd be about 20 minutes since I needed to shower and change. Back in the locker room, I used all of the La Prairie products to get ready. The face wash is amazing! When I realized I might need a few more minutes, I texted Matt to suggest that he get some wine or bubbly. He responded that he was already sipping on champagne. Too good. Upon leaving, the receptionists retrieved my coat and scarf. They gave me a list of recommended products, but there was no pressure to purchase anything. I loved that they even gave me a little goody bag, with a full size bottle of the nail polish that I loved. What a treat! This spa day was too magical and I can't wait to return on one of our future trips to New York City.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! As you probably know, I am a spa aficionado and this was terrific, even by my standards. The hubby and I went for massages. Lets start off by saying, this is not a bargain/budget establishment. Be prepared to shell out some serious coin for this, but it is so worth it. I had the swedish and the hubby had a hot stone/swedish. We did not have a couples massage as that is not my thing. We were both very happy with our services. The therapists listened to what the hubby and I wanted. They focused where we wanted them to focus. The locker room was lovely and clean. The showers were immaculate. It's worth saving your pennies and come for a truly decadent experience.

Yelp
I hide from the world at this small, quiet, meticulously kept jewel of a spa and while it is pricy (hello it is the Ritz what do you expect?) they are very generous with their facilities and service. I arrived for a 6:30pm facial at 4 and proceeded to use the gym, the sauna, the shower with all complementary products. I lounged and read their NY Times while having champagne and fruit and this was all before a wonderful 60 minute facial. The service is perfect and the place feels empty - as if you were in your own private suite getting pampered (I admit I did go on a pretty Sunday but it was worth sacrificing the outdoors for the perfect oasis in doors). I concluded the evening with a drink downstairs at the bar and left the Ritz feeling like I had been away for days. If you want to hide in your own home town try this experience.

Yelp
Love this products , service in here is great for a busy city like New York usually u won't get a great service be cause every one is very busy .

Yelp
Came all the way from NJ to experience this! Loved our time here! The locker rooms are amazing and the staff is so attentive and friendly. My boyfriend and I got massages and facials I believe my facialist's name was Anna. So attentive and friendly, they even gave me a little something for my birthday! And the refreshments are great- dried fruit, kombucha, water and champagne. And the decor is absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to return. The front desk staff is super professsional as well great service. The locker rooms are also stocked with literally everything more then you can imahine and so clean.

Yelp
On 3/31 I booked a massage and facial for myself and my partner. While the main service approach was good for my massage, my facial was awful. The therapist didn't ask anything about my face or conditions and literally slopped on all sorts of creams and a peel, and then proceeded to try aggressively to sell me the spa's product line. At the end of the treatment she rubbed off the creams and went directly over my eyes causing major eye irritation for 2 days. Not a great experience for the price, especially at a Ritz-Carlton. There are much better spas in NYC, I recommend avoiding this one.

Yelp
Five of the most relaxing days ! The very best spa experience. If you want to be catered to and waited on like a queen, here's the place !! From the visual experience , the ambiance ,to the professionalism . It was top notch really very special experience . It was our 25th wedding anniversary and it could not have been more amazing . Enjoy !!

Yelp
Came here with my mom for my birthday on May 24th! We had a 2pm appointment for a La Prarie Pedicure for me and the gold radiance facial for mom. We arrived about 15 min before our appointment and we received big comfy robes and slippers. We waited in a little waiting room that had flavored water and fruit to snack in while waiting. Right at 2 my esthetician Rachel came to get me and offered me complimentary glass is champagne and a bottle of cold water and a warm neck wrap. The pedicure lasted 75 min and it was wonderful! It included a complete pedicure, a massage with la prarie products, hot stone massage and also she massages my arms while my feet were soaking. Overall it was a lovely afternoon with great service! It is pricey but because they use la prarie products it is worth it!

Yelp
I might as well been hit by a tranquilizer dart. Couldn't have had a more relaxing experience, beautiful aromas, champagne in hand(or tea), very peaceful. La prairie is Well equipped with talented masseuses. Although the cleric did and proceed to call me Miss numerous times. Clearly I am not a miss I have a beard, regardless of what it said on the email... I guess in this day and age you really never know. I stayed at ease even hours after I left; Euphoric.

Yelp
La Prairie is another great spa by the Ritz Carlton! The staff is so friendly and makes you feel like a Queen. I love all their services. I highlymr

Yelp
Yes, I consider myself a very lucky girl to have been sent here (directly following my cocktail and snack at the Lobby Bar downstairs). I sure as shit wouldn't have been able to to afford a massage at the Ritz on my own. Anyway, I arrived and was greeted warmly by name (they KNEW somehow), my coat was taken, I was offered champagne, etc (I declined as I was already tipsy from my martini) and I was shown to the lounge where everything was explained to me. In the lounge, there are lockers where you can custom program your own combination for the lock, and in the lockers are robes, sandals, a towel, a hanger and a jewelry box. I didn't take the time to sit in the steam room, but it looked very nice. There was also every amenity imaginable provided for use: Mouthwash, toothbrushes, whatever you need/forgot/want to take. While waiting for my masseuse, I sat in the lounge area, where there was "fruit water" (water with tons of fresh berries in it), a bowl of fresh fruit for eating (delicious, I had a few...), books to read, CDs to choose from (but the selection playing was fine for my taste). After a few minutes of waiting, a soft spoken woman named Shannon came to get me. She addressed me as "Ms. Rose" which I found hilarious yet appropriate for my surroundings, and I followed her to my treatment room. She asked about any medical conditions, medications, etc and then left the room for me to get settled. When she returned, she got to work immediately. She was extremely thorough, provided perfect amounts of pressure (without any guidance), and the entire session felt seamless; I never felt or heard her getting more massage oil or lotion, moving around...nothing. Of course, I enjoy getting massages...but this one was just different. I've heard stories of people falling asleep, but I never had. This time though, I totally drifted in and out of consciousness because I was so completely relaxed. I woke up and had to drag myself out of there, went home and passed out. If I could afford this weekly, I would make a standing appointment.

Yelp
Best spa experience of my life. Its not as big as some of the other spa's I have been to, but you get treated like royalty! Also, they only use La Prairie products (hence the name), which is one of the top of the line cosmetics lines. Your skin will honestly never feel as good as it does after you use these products! When I entered the spa, I was warmly greeted by the receptionists who lead me to the change rooms. Of course this spa was fully equip with all the amenities you need to freshen up post spa visit. I put on my robe and then headed into the waiting area. I was immediately approached by someone asking if I would like anything to drink. Unlike most spas I have been to, they really meant anything...champagne, wine, water, juice, etc. Naturally I opted for a little bit if bubbly to get into relaxation mode. I was also given a few hors d'oeuvres to snack on while I wait. I highly recommend you to come early to enjoy these things and really take advantage of what the spa has to offer. Shortly I headed in for my facial. It was absolutely amazing!! I'm usually so paranoid when it comes to my skin and fear vigorous hands massaging them. I had nothing to fear here! I was able to pick the tranquil music that would be playing I'm background for my hour facial and so it began. It was so relaxing that I actually fell asleep. Post facial, my skin had never felt so good. I actually went out that night feeling completely refreshed and absolutely no need for makeup! I would honestly go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Dress nicely at all times, or else they will start judging you whether you could afford such lodging. It bothered me and I expect the management to reeducate these low inferiors. Friday, August 7, 2015 - 12:30 PM - This place judge you by the way you dress. First, I checked in my baggage with the concierge after GIVING MY NAME AND THEY VERIFIED my family is a guest there. While I was dressed up in business formal, the spa on 3rd floor treated me very well. After finishing my first event, I retrieved my luggage to change into something more comfortable. The front desk (dark skin female, maybe middle eastern) told me to use the spa to change my clothes. I told the receptionist at the spa I did not know our room number yet. She said it's not a problem and that she understood. Then told me to enjoy my time there at the spa. I changed my clothes then decided to sit there relaxing while doing work on my mobile phone. Another tall Caucasian man came and everything was fine. He said it was okay for me to sit there doing my work. Later, a female house keeper from India or Pakistan (employee 3) came. This janitor started using sarcasm saying its a nice day outside, and sarcastically said I should go out rather than staying inside. This is disrespectful to my health issue requiring me to stay indoor. She then started asking when will my family get there. She even told me to put my clothes on (normally wardrobe is enough.) i felt insulted and started to leave. The receptionist (employee 1) now started asking questions. And wanted to take my luggage. Despite telling her I checked in my stuff earlier, she still followed me and said will show me how to get to the concierge. During this, she tried to grab my luggage. I know what was on her mind and told her I will do it myself. I also gave her my last name--the same one used for booking the guest room. (No, it's not one of those Americans and/or elites' last names. She stepped outside-perhaps to talk to the security guards. If this idiot listened carefully, it would have found my reservation. Perhaps she already stereotyped based on the color of my skin and my last name. The idiot came back inside and see that I was still there. I have nothing to hide. Unless I want to pursue this further due to this unusual discrimination or unequal treatment based on perceived social status, I will return tonight and stay at the hotel. Then the man from the spa earlier (employee 2) came, perhaps got sent from the spa third floor. He tried to grab my luggage, I told him not to touch my luggage. Then he said it's better to tour NYC without my luggage.

Yelp
I totally lucked out yesterday when my boss was unable to make it for her massage, facial appointment at La Prairie. I opted for the facial and my dh had the massage. The entire experience was heavenly, from the moment we walked thru the doors we were completely pampered. My facial was probably the best I have ever had - I actually dozed off a few times - and I have to say I was glowing after wards. It was delicious! My dh wasn't in the mood for a last minute massage - but I did a little arm twisting and he came along. And, of course- he's glad he did. It was his first massage with a male therapist and it was a really good deep tissue - which isn't his favorite - but he really needed it and actually said he wished it wouldn't end (isn't that always the case!) The place is pretty pricey - (thank goodness all we only covered tips - thanks boss!) It is well worth it. If I could bear to part with the $ - I would go once a month...... ahhh if only........

Yelp
This spa is a little peace of heaven. Its on the expensive side, but the products are excellent, the staff know what they're doing, and its so incredibly quiet and relaxing. Their facials have made a huge improvement in my skin, and the brazilian waxes are fast and (relatively) painless. Its a lovely spa to go to on your own, do what you need to do, and escape at the same time.

Yelp
Ritz Carlton is a landmark hotel on the south bank of Central Park. As soon as I walk in, I know I best stand up straighter and slow my roll. This place is fanceyy. You want to put caviar on my face? Well, yes please. You get what you expect from a 5 star facial at a 5 star hotel. I came in with the wind-blown face of a fisherman and left with the glow of a pregnant lady.

Yelp
I went to the Ritz Spa for my first date with my beautiful BF. It was New Years Day and we were ushered to the spa, i truly felt like a princess. The hotel is amazing, looks decadent and very old NY, felt right at home(LOL) I had pedicure done..lasted around an hour, with beautiful foot massages and lotions..it was one of a kind experience...the lounge area is magnificent too- fruit water and snacks are delish.. thanks to my bf i got to experience this, which normally is usually way out of price range.

3/20/11 I decided I needed to treat myself to a day of beauty. My usual spa was booked and proceded to call about 10 spas which were all booked (I know plan ahead) I arrived and was welcomed warmly. I expected a bigger spa. It was very clean and comfortable. Each locker had a robe and slippers. The CON was my facialist offered me a larger size robe "for my comfort". I did feel a lil insulted but I get it, I'm overweight. Btw my robe fit just fine. I booked a 90 min facial with mani-pedi $385. The whole experience was glorious. I truly felt like a queen. You can pick different music selections and I chose to listen to Sade :) My skin was so clean afterwards and my cuticles looked flawless. Afterwards, the facialist wrote down recommendations for different products.

Yelp
Been here a few times, so I believe I have a good understanding of how, why and if their services work. Lows First: Super pricey, but you knew that. Yep it is small, and they do lack the normal spa amenities as mentioned. Highs: Great customer service You feel like a princess Nice place to totally relax if you have an open day, although amenities arent many so make sure to have a few services What I've Done: Microderm Facial: was great, made my skin feel fresh and clean and was able to tell the difference afterwards. I was a bit sad that not all of the extracts were performed, she did go very light. For the price I expect my nose and face and neck to be completely taken care of during extractions. Gold Facial: Skin felt revived and fresh. Glowing, yep! Body Scrub: Yum...god my body felt GREAT after this, the exfoliation and cremes put on afterward leave you tingling with delight! I'd come here for this before a body spray tan if you get those!

Yelp
Good, but far short of great. They may offer the best mani/pedi in NYC. The pedi chairs are insane! I had a great massage & a wonderful facial. That said, the high price isn't justified by the surroundings. Luxurious & cramped don't belong in the same sentence, but that was the way I felt, even when I was the only person there. Yes, you get bubbles (plus 1 star), but the lounge room is very small with only a few places to sit that are close together. What was more bothersome to me was there are treatment rooms off of it, none of them are soundproofed. I know that when I'm done with a facial I need a few minutes without people or communication, and that isn't possible here, as you exit right from your facial room into the lounge. The changing are is very small. Well lit, but if there are more than 3 people in the changing room or in the lounge, it is cramped.

Yelp
The entire staff here is fantastic. I felt welcomed and they were always on top of ensuring I had whatever I needed. The esthetician that did my microdermabrasion was very knowledgeable and was extremely thorough (she really got down with the extractions!). My skin looks and feels fabulous! The complimentary champagne and tea was a nice post-service indulgence and the berries and nuts that were out were nice to have. The only reason I'm giving one star off is because of the price relative to the size of the spa. I mean, I get it's the Ritz and it was totally fab, but I'd probably try somewhere else next time. It's really small that at one point, there were 4 of us in the waiting/lounge area, and I felt bad that I was on the lounge chair when someone else was sitting on a bench against the wall, so I got up and went to the sauna to let her use the lounger. I had a great time and it was fun to take my friend that was visiting, but I think I can now check this off my list.

Yelp
After much research I went to this spa since I am looking into skincare brands and decided to try out the spa experience before buying La Prairie. I booked the gold facial. The spa is gorgeous and spacious. The facial started with a relaxing foot bath which relaxed me instantly, and the music and decor definitely helped. The massage was by far the best facial massage I have ever had - I found myself melting and drowsy, which never happens. Definitely the best massage... Sometimes I have some breakouts after facial, but this time I had several breakouts on my face that went on for a few days. I don't think the products suited my skin. Also, even though I left with a glow and my skin looked and felt clean, the extractions were few so I had blackheads. Even though I gave this place 4 stars for the awesome massage, I will not go back because of my reaction to the products and my need for extractions, especially for the $$$ they charge.

Yelp
What's not to love about the Ritz and/or LaPrairie? I've had a few services here but I am writing this review based on my latest experience last week. I went in on Sunday for a facial with Rose. I had a few questions regarding product and Rose was so knowledgable about the entire La Prairie line. She was very accomedating and my skin is still glowing!

Yelp
4 Stars for the Spa as it is lacking in amenities and quite small. However, 5 stars for services! I had one the of the most amazing massages with the La Prairie Caviar Cream used. It is their Caviar Skin Massage. I can't remember my masseur's name but he was amazing! I am definitely a fan!

Yelp
This is one of the places I like to visit when I am in NY. As any business woman, I have a very tight schedule but I always have time to enjoy this spa.

Yelp
I've been to many spas around NYC & I have to say, La Prairie is on the top of my list. Everything is top quality! The locker rooms supply you with hair dryers, lotions, facial cleaners, qtips, mouth wash, towels, brushes, razors, etc. They give you personal lockers to store your belongings & a robe & slippers to wear during your treatments. The locker rooms are very clean, have a sauna, steam room & bathrooms. In the unisex lounge area, they offer you complimentary snacks & fruits, champagne, warm towels, neck warmers, music options & fun coffee table books. The massages are out of this world. The woman that did my massage was very good at working out the knots in my lower back by offering to use two different massage techniques & the pressure was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. The facials are terrific too. The estheticians take their time to examine your skin, tell you everything that they are doing & using on you & always deliver Excellent results. The pricing is very fair for what it is & the location is in the Ritz Carlton hotel which is right by Central Park. It's all-around an amazing day spa. I recommend this place 100% to anyone whose looking for a special & luxurious spa experience.

Yelp
I had a fantastic facial. The esthetician was very gently but effective during extractions and answered my million questions about my skin. Afterwards, we were offered champagne and a warmed neck pack. The steam room was one of the best I've been in. It was extremely steamy and there were no drips from the ceiling. I liked the silver bottles of lavender and eucalyptus essential oil mist to spray for added relaxation. One thing I didn't like was the flimsy curtain that separated the waiting area from the lockers. The locker area is quite small and theres not much separating you from exposing your bits to those waiting for their treatment. Obviously, you can change in the bathroom if that is bothersome. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoy my time at the spa. I especially love that no one hounds you to buy products. A suggestion list is provided and if you want to buy then do so, if not, no one bats an eye. I also like that a samples bag was already prepared. So many spas clutch samples as though they are full size products for sale. Overall, I had a great experience and would return.

Yelp
It was not peaceful. There was an incessant chatter that distracted from the overall experience. I was very disappointed. The space is beautiful but the service does not live up to the company reputation.

Yelp
Just had a very expensive facial that was not worth it. Should have gone to Elizabeth Arden's Red Door. Up sell was the theme from the receptionist and the esthetecian ( who seemed inexperienced and unprofessional). My chin is dry with red splotchy patches after a hydrating facial. Changing area is small with two showers with a curtain for one and a glass door for the other. If you're looking for privacy or luxurious space, this isn't it. I feel strongly enough about this to write a review.

Yelp
Had an amazing facial during the holiday rush! What a great escape from the hustle and bustle on the crowded streets below. The receptionists were friendly and took our winter coats and scarves upon check in. The locker room was immaculate. Arrived early to relax in the waiting room - it was small and provided little privacy for the attached treatment rooms, but given that the spa is in a hotel in a high-traffic area of a major city, I suppose most people don't stay long. The facial was one of the best I've ever had and I enjoyed the option to choose from a large selection of music. Followed by a lovely walk in the Park, this experience made for a great addition to my holiday getaway.

Yelp
This is the best SPA experience I have ever had. I have been to several spas in Manhattan and the five boroughs for facials, from very expensive to moderate. This spa is above par. The esthetician, Mary, was amazing! I couldnt keep from sleeping during the procedure. The entire experience was so relaxing, I was in heaven. If you want a proper facial do not hesitate, this is the place to go!

Yelp
One of the best afternoons ever! Had a deep tissue massage and a pedicure which were outstanding. Highly recommend to get a break from the loud crazy streets of NYC.

Yelp
one of the best facials i have ever have. not just saying that. I have been to just about every spa looking for an all around great facial. This is the first that has met my expectations and left my skin feeling and looking amazing. the only thing stopping me from going again.. the price.

Yelp
The caviar massage is pretty fantastic. It is a rather small spa but that makes it an intimate experience and for sure one of the best spas in NY

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriend who was visiting. It was heavenly and so relaxing. I forgot that I was in NYC.
