I have been ordering my cakes from this place for years. The past couple times I noticed that their service has gone down. This time, when I contacted them about ordering my office manager’s 40th birthday cake, they didn’t get back to me for two weeks. And when they did finally get back to me, they offered to make me the cake and sent me photos and I chose one. The cake that I received really does not look like the cake that they offered to me. They said that they’re going to make two flavors, it only came with one flavor. I sent them the two photos and expressed my disappointment. If I pay $200 for a cake, I expect to get something special. It was a bait and switch.

My family and I have come here twice for birthday cakes. They have done a beautiful job. The other best part of it they made them gluten-free both of them and you could not even tell the difference between a real cake and the gluten-free cake. My 11 year old loved the cake. This bakery is a must go for dessert and birthday cake. One was a cocholate and my husband was a strawberry short cake.

Customer service amazing. Custom cake looked magnificent & tasted delicious. Only negative was my guests had stained lips from the black food coloring used :(

We catered some dishes for a party and everything was truly excellent! The brisket and quiche were absolutely delicious , we followed the warming instructions and they came out perfect, full of flavor, and clearly made by real professionals. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ordering was super easy, pick-up was right on time, and the whole experience was smooth from beginning to end. We’re definitely going to order again. So happy to have this wonderful place here in Nyack. Thank you! 🙌💛

The salad was superb! Beautiful and delicious. The potato pancakes were also amazing -crispy and tasty. I should have served them with applesauce or sour cream! The cauliflower was a bit of a flop as I couldn’t find directions to reheat it? There was a bunch of oil at the bottom of the pan it was in but no instructions. I air fryer it after Christmas and it was tasty.

La Promenade is such a gem! We love supporting this family business—they have such a great variety of goods. Their cronuts are a must-try: so flaky, tasty, and just perfect. The crumb cake is amazing, and we’re big fans of their banana nut bread too. On top of all the baked goods, they also have some amazing salads that we grab from time to time. Always fresh, always delicious. Highly recommend checking them out!

We worked with La Promenade for our wedding cake and could not have been happier! Julian and Corey were great, especially with accommodating my severe allergy. Our cake was gorgeous, and delicious! Thank you!

Absolutely love the cronuts here! Been trying to gatekeep this place but it seems to be such a crowd favorite - I guess I was late to the game! Especially loved the Guava Cream Cheese - the guava was very rich but still fresh and the thickness paired so nicely without overpowering the soft flaky cronut layers.

Their cakes are beautifully decorated. For me personally, it tastes a bit too sweet for my taste, however, I wanted to mention how wonderful the decorations were and the chocolate mousse cake had a wonderfully raspberry filling.

La Promenade is tiny hole in the wall bakery with about 3 spots for parking right out front. When you step inside the bakery you'll notice that there isn't much room to look around, the building may be large, but the shop itself is quite small. The variety of pastries and cakes are limited, to be honest I wasn't as blown away as a few of my fellow Yelpers. Everything I purchased was average, nothing to rave about.

Phenomenal job for their catering job. My friend hired them to cater her Birthday party. They did a great job. The food was delicious. The set up was beautiful. There were nice appetizers of charcuterie boards, ceviche, crackers, dips, crudités. The main course was penne pasta, salmon, steak, chicken, salads, corn & bean salad, bread, and more. Dessert was tiramisu squares, cronuts, cupcakes, fruit. Service was good too! Excellent job. I used to order their weekly family meals with my parents when my kids were little. Brought back memories.

Been going here for over 20 years didn't realize I never left a review. Their baked good are 10/10 love the cronuts. I'm most happy about their frozen food section, I absolutely love their Chilli they also have merguez yeah!! Service is always with a smile!!

Absolutely gorgeous custom cakes! Me and my friends had wedding cakes from this place and every cake was delicious and looked amazing! There are many options to select from! They can also make a vegan cake. My friend had a vegan cake at her wedding that was delicious. No one could tell it was vegan. Our cakes was chocolate with fruits inside. I am not a big fun of plain vanilla cakes, so we were happy to order chocolate one! We also asked for the real flowers which was absolutely gorgeous! Definitely recommend this amazing place!

Absolutely love the cronuts here! They are perfectly airy and moist. The original glazed and Boston cream are my favorites.

I ordered a custom cake and it was not only beautiful, but delicious. The staff is always kind and considerate. Most of the cakes I have purchased from the bakery case have also been very good the cronuts and cookies were also great.

Full of awesome eats, this free standing building packs a few mean punches! Yes, this is more than just a bakery. It is unique for the artisanal goodies, and other handmade creations the chefs here can imagine. Cakes, chocolate covered anything, pastries, frozen dinners, fresh daily made lunch items, coffee, etc... Plus, they sell random cookware, and other items that may be related to food. I came in here specifically to try their Nutella stuffed donut, but I had missed out. They did have one last apple pie stuffed donut which was very delicious! It was not light on the thighs either haha. The espresso chocolate lollipops were addicting! The cake mix was moist on the inside, and the chocolate was firm to create a sturdy outer crust. Then dusted with espresso powder MmMmmm! Whether you're in the mood for sweets, some food, or coffee; this place will have your meal experience covered nicely. I wish I had come in with a hungry stomach along with my hungry eyes. That would have left me extremely happy with an empty wallet. FYI: They make everything in the morning time so first come first serve. Also, they have plenty of parking on the backside of the building.

Fanatic baked good and catering options! We order here from work all the time. They never disappoint. The cookies are always excellent. They also have prepackaged meals to go which I have never taken advantage of

I ordered my daughter's first birthday cake from them (need to put the order 2 weeks ahead). Alongside regular bakery items like cakes, cup cakes, brownies, cannolis, they also sell salads, cold sandwiches, flan and many other items. They have a huge frozen food section that includes variety of dishes like chicken/veg tikka masala, veg dumplings, beef lasagna, chicken marsala, chicken breast, roasted vegetables, lamb navarin, beef brisket and many other items. Usually they are large enough to serve 2-3 people. They also do catering, especially due to Covid, they have individual catering box serving. If you around the area, this a must visit place.

Ohhhhh... we chose La Promenade to stop and get some delicacies. They have churros today which were deliciousssss !!! I ate a donut filled w/Nutella; it was glazed and had almond on top. My husband wanted a glazed chocolate donut and another filled with Nutella and Boston cream. We think that for that kind of beautifully donuts, the owner maybe can wrap them in a box, because when we wanted to eat them, they were squashed and the glazed on the top was almost disappeared. Amazing delicacies you must try! Specialty baked pastry items, delicious catered food options galore! I strongly encourage you visit and firsthand taste what they have to offer! The staff is very polite and are focused on you-the customer! Just look at the amazing photos! Go and support this wonderfully locally owned business!

This cake was amazing! I came into the shop when I was visiting the area and the staff was so helpful describing everything in the showcase. When they said chocolate cake with cannoli filling, I knew I had to have it. The cake was very moist and delicious with thick layers of chocolate chip cannoli filling. And it was so beautiful I was able to use it as a prop for photos of my nephew! One warning - ask for prices before you decide on something. I was a bit surprised that this cake was $55 - I would have gotten it anyway but my dad was paying and so this was a bit of a shock for him and I must admit I didn't think it would be that pricey.

We had the tiramisu Buche de Noel on Christmas Day and it was fantastic! The cake was decorated beautifully with tiny Christmas trees , presents , holly leaves and hand crafted snowballs. Just beautiful ! It is clear that this bakery uses high quality ingredients in their products. It is rare to find a cake that takes as good as it looks and La Prom nailed it!

La promenade is a bakery located in the quaint town of Tenafly. This northern NJ spot is unique in that they make everything and most of it is really good. They specialize in croughnuts which are a cross between a croissant and a donut. However, I prefer all there other deserts. Their pastries are absolutely delightful. Especially the ones with chocolate. They also make a really good chocolate croissant. They also cater and offer food all served in a beautiful display of class. If your looking to impress a group of friends with a box of pastries this is the place to go. I highly recommend this place.

My family is fairly new to town and I wanted to like this place so much based on reviews. But how horrible everything tastes. My son was interested in ordering a cake for his birthday. To get an idea on flavors, we purchased a $25 cake and took it home to try. It was one of the worst cakes I have ever had in my life. The buttercream smelled funny and had a sour aftertaste. The cake itself was dry and stale. The proportions of cake to cream were entirely off. Never too much buttercream when it is delicious but not in this instance. I called to discuss how the cake was spoiled and was asked to bring it in. When I brought it in, the woman agreed that the cake should not have tasted like this or been so dry that it wouldn't hold when cut. So instead of offering me a new cake or even a refund, what does she do? She keeps the $25 cake that I brought back and gives me 2 dry and equaling horrible tasting cupcakes that total $7. Bad taste, bad customer service and crooks. If someone returns uneaten cake because it is spoiled, the very least you can do is refund the customer their money. Why do people give this place good reviews. Please avoid businesses that operate by taking advantage of people. Update on the cupcakes they swapped the cake with: the cake part was cardboard-like and taste-less on the chocolate. The carrot cupcake was undercooked. The sugar in the cream cheese frosting was not completely integrated. Gross all around. This store does not know or bake a good cake/cupcake.

Last month we hosted a party for 60 people in our backyard, catered by La Promenade and lead by Corey. All tables, chairs and decor, were beautifully set, guests arrived and the catering team was ready. Well, unexpectedly (or maybe expectedly when there is no tent) it started drizzling. La Promenade staff was still serving appetizers amongst the guests, who were taking some cover under trees and outdoor umbrellas; while the Lady Bartender stood with an umbrella in one hand, while mixing drinks with the other...Rain got strong. Change of plan! We invited all guests into the house (not too big) and abandoned the outdoor arrangement. Corey and his La Promenade team got into action. They set up a new bar in the corner of the dining area and started cooking in the kitchen where people were gathered as well; leaving them only a few inches of free area to work, cook, clean and wash. They rearranged the furniture so we can fit as many people in the living room, dining area and kitchen and also setting a corner for the DJ and his station, so we can dance too. Thanks to the efforts of this team - we had a great party, great food, desserts and coffee, excellent service. Everybody left happy...fun night after all. 30 minutes later the catering team was done, ready to go, leaving the house spotless, like we never had a party. We were shocked! These guys and gals spared no effort and did way more than anyone would expect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Rude customer service. Avoid their online ordering system. You get a confirmation email from 9fold/HungerRush but no message from the bakery. Then the bakery does not send you any information about the delivery or if it was completed. I called two weeks later to check and they said they don't keep records that far back! I was told to call the recipient and see if it was delivered. Sorry but I don't want to call a grieving family and ask if their Shiva basket was delivered!

The food is yummy. It's fresh and presented in clear, or aluminum topped containers, you can heat or freeze. The service is congenial and people do their best to move things along. Bring one of your reusable bags; you'll be buying more than you intended to. The prices are fair, given the quality and freshness of the products here. Highly recommend this place; they are open every day and this is the perfect place to go if you suddenly need to serve a meal and have limited time to prepare it. This is not an eat-in restaurant, but the ambiance is very nice and friendly.

Best cronut I've ever had in my entire life. Perfectly balanced sweet and savory . Croissant to Donut ratio. My favorite was the chocolate glazed. I tried the plain- classic Jelly- pretty sure they make their own home made jelly very good this one is a bit heavier. Chocolate glazed

I had an amazing first experience with this bakery! I ordered a custom cake for my parents 25th anniversary THE DAY BEFORE! I spoke with a girl on the phone who answered my long list of questions and helped me to pick the best cake flavors based on my parents' preferences. I ended up choosing a chocolate/vanilla cake, whipped cream and chocolate ganache. The girl even asked if I wanted fresh strawberries in the frosting, and of course I had to say yes! My parents absolutely LOVED the cake! They said it was super fresh, moist, not overly sweet, and beautifully presented. I will definitely be back for future custom cakes. The price is so reasonable and the staff was extremely helpful and understanding. Thank you for helping me so last minute!

my 1st time to try this place. I got yelp to deliver and tried their nutella cronut, that's so good. I dont mind paying 4$ for a huge and yummy cronut. I guess they ran out of boston cream and plain glaze that is why they replaced it with 2 good ones too. Will try more from this place.

Very friendly staff and limit clients in store to 3 at a time. Ordered a tiramisu cake for 50th bday party and they were very accommodating with only 3 days notice. Got rave reviews cake was delicious and beautifully done Also picked up a few cupcakes , carrot, chocolate and Oreos - standard fare, a little small for the price The Nutella cronut was the family favorite! Definitely would go back and try the other food since desserts were on point

I originally ordered two cakes from La Promenade for my son's one year birthday. Kris, one of the employees, helped me and I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. I paid for the cakes in advance without question. On the day I came to pick up the first cake, it was not what I had shown her in the picture at all (I had wanted buttercream wisps all around the cake and the one they made did not have them). I told her and she said the bakery could fix it, which I appreciated. When I asked her how much it would cost, she told me we would discuss "later". I found it strange that I wouldn't get the price up front (I'm not sure who buys something without knowing what it costs first), but I didn't push her and was hopeful that they understood it was a mistake on their part so they would not charge me. When I came back to pick up the cake, it was perfect BUT Kris told me she was giving me a deal by charging me $25 extra instead of the original price of $40. I paid for it, but told Kris I wish she had told me the price PRIOR to doing the work when I had asked her. First, they didn't make the cake I wanted (despite being shown a picture), charged me extra for work they should have done, and then had the audacity to tell me they were giving me a deal. $65 for a 4inch smash cake with buttercream - nothing extra special here. I accepted the charges because I know nothing about cakes (maybe buttercream is really expensive) and didn't make an issue but called back and canceled the second cake order which was for the next day. I didn't want to argue with them, just wanted to be done with it. When I spoke to Kris about issuing a refund, she told me how canceling the order was unfortunate because the bakery had done me a favor and gone out of their way to help me. I thanked her and explained that the bakery didn't do me a favor by fixing the cake to meet the specifications I asked for, that they agreed to, and which I paid for. Instead of owning up to their mistake, Kris was instigating an argument and claiming that I was at fault. This experience just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I'm not sure how good the product is, but the customer experience was terrible. I had every right to not take the wrong cake they made, but instead, I worked with them and paid the additional money they asked for. Instead of just moving on, Kris went out of her way to blame me. All she had to do was issue the refund and keep her mouth shut. I'll never go to this bakery and I will not recommend it to others. I never argued with Kris or the staff, I paid what they asked for. I wouldn't have posted this review if they didn't get petty. But, for a business to go out of their way to argue with a customer when the business was at fault is just appalling to me.

Be very Careful when ordering delivery!!! They charged $20 for delivery of four cronuts. Use DoorDash or UberEats. Do NOT order from them directly. Total RIP-OFF! Plus I gave the delivery guy $20 tip because he was so young and I appreciate young kids working hard instead of doing nothing all summer. Shame on the business to charge that for driving five minutes distance.

I'm giving 2 stars for their cronuts we bought and zero for their service. We were so excited to go this place, however the experience was ruined by bad service. When we got there, there was a girl working who seemed very attentive serving another customer. We waited and another women(who had brown hair) working there came out to help us. However, she was so eager to get us out and rushing us about our order. There were only two customers including us in the enire store. She spoke so fast and did not answer my simple questions such as "do you have..? Which ones did you say you had?" I felt like we had to make our decision right away. I'm always willing to wait if I have to for good food and good service. I could have waited for the other women to help us, but she came out to help. Then, she should of helped us, not rush us out. I really don't understand what the deal was. I don't think I will return to this place despite the good reviews and will not have good things to say about it since I didn't have time or chance to order anything else. For a first time visit, it will be our last visit.

La Promenade never disappoints. Fresh goods at all times. Today I picked up an Oreo cupcake and cronut. The cupcake was moist. As the cronut was a perfect mix of crunchy and soft.

I love their cakes and their cookies. I have had their cakes at several of my friends' birthday parties. I also ordered my daughter's birthday cake from them on a very short notice and they did not disappoint. The cake tasted amazing as always and it looked super great.

Thank you to La Promenade for creating a beautiful Gluten Free 40th birthday cake for my husband. The fabulous staff at La Promenade were able to bring my vision for this cake to life, incorporating all of my husband's varied interests, and were able to do this with only three days notice. Tip: Follow up on your calls and emails by going into their shop to chat directly with the kind staff!

Garbage!! Rude people. Food is frozen leftovers. Pastries and cakes are stale and moldy.

I never had a good cronut until I came here! While a bit pricey, the quality is great and fresh, so I don't actually mind. Plus 1 is honestly enough since these cronuts are pretty heavy. I've had their apple pie (cobbler?) and their hamentashen which were great as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is always a plus. Great (and not so great for my sweet tooth) for me, I live super close to this fine place. I plan to stop by often.

I should have read the reviews before stopping by this place. I thought it was a regular bakery and just wanted to get a few sweets for dessert. The exterior is really cute so I think I was expecting too much from this place. I got a few cupcakes, the mini cheesecake, and a fruit tart. The cupcakes were so dry that I ended up tossing them, which is a no-no for me. I hate wasting food. The fruit tart didn't have enough cream so it was like having fruit on a dry cookie. The cheesecake had good flavor but tasted like it had been in the refrigerated case for too long. I think I just picked the items that no one gets. Again, I should have read the reviews first and gotten the cronuts or ordered a cake. It's unfortunate because I even asked what they were known for since it's my first time there. They seemed pretty confident that everything is great. Big no.

I'm a bit of a procrastinator and ordered my wife a cake at like 3pm on the day of her birthday. A beautiful decadent vanilla Cake was delivered 20 minutes later and it was extremely good. Lovely yellow cake and perfect frosting . You guys made me look good to my wife - thanks for that!

Joelle and Matt are very helpful and knowledgeable on the items being provided. Matt came up explained the different flavors of the cakes and was very confident. I would come here again if I am In the neighborhood. Joelle on the other hand she was very polite as was Matt. You can see that they enjoy working here. Joelle was very nice when ringing up my item. Please come and enjoy some wonderful cakes and desserts.

This review is long overdue. They made a simple yet perfect cake for my daughters first birthday photo shoot that tasted delicious. I go there from time to time for coffee and pastries and the food and service are always superb. Employees are always cheerful and nice. Love this place

My husband and I have been purchasing all of our "milestone" cakes from La Promenade since 12/2015. From our gender reveal cake to my husband's graduation cake -- Julian and his team definitely exceeded above and beyond our expectations. The execution, detail, and personable service this establishment is EXCEPTIONAL!!! Thank you Julian and La Promenade for being a part of our memories!!!

Could not have been better! For my birthday my family had a surprise party catered in my home. I was completely surprised by a party for 50 guests. My kitchen had been taken over by the staff and hot appetizers were served on platters. A fajita bar was set up and all raved about it. The staff kept the food circulating. They left the kitchen in perfect shape and were so polite and respectful. I was really impressed that left overs were packed up in card board containers, not plastic or styrofoam. All the food was delicious and of course the cake was wonderful. Thank you to all!

La promenade is a wonderful local gem. Not only is everything delicious but the staff is very polite and accommodating. The fact that they also offer delicious gluten free cakes and tarts is icing on the cake!

Corey and the rest of the staff at La Promenade are absolutely amazing! I dealt with Corey through email to cater a few things for a baby shower and he was very prompt with responding not to mention extremely nice! We got a custom cake made which turned out PERFECT, a few platters (cheese & crudité), some assorted pastries and cronut holes. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Highly recommend- everything was above and beyond our expectations!

The donut I bought had too much filling and was hard to appreciate. The rainbow cookies were okay and the pecan pie was delicious.

This place is amazing! I've enjoyed the food and baked items from La Promenade for years and attended several events where they catered the food. All of the food items were always delicious. I've catered many parties at my home and at private party spaces, but this place ranks far and above all others. From the ordering process, to the delivery and of course to the taste and presentation.....it was all perfect. They also made a beautiful cake that not only looked amazing it tasted delicious. It is nearly impossible to get a great tasting cake that looks beautiful as well. They were so easy to work with and made the entire process effortless! I highly recommend them for your next event!

My sister introduced me to their cronut (both sugar and glazed) and the morning glory muffin and it was ever so glorious. The cronut is a thousand times better than the average sugar donut, with all of its defined buttery layers, and the morning glory muffin was so doughy and delicious with hints of cinnamon, raisins, and shredded carrot. They give Balthazar's a run for their money!

What a disappointment. Went the way of all things: down. First experience was fine when I catered for a large event. However as I went back as a regular guest for catering orders there were increasing mess ups: 1. Wrong menu items + missing accompanying sauces/portions even when we asked to pay for extra. 2. Same menu items were of lesser quality such as sinewy/tough meats. 3. No honoring the 72 hour lead time for pickup as promised on their website. 4. Being open for business but not able to take any more catering orders at random times of the year = unreliable catering company. The unreliability, declining quality of ingredients and rude and uncooperative attitude of some staff. Has lost our patronage, that of a few people in my neighborhood (in the stores locale and has been the biggest market for this store through the years) and many more in the future we are sure.

Had my wife's 30th birthday brunch catered from La Promenade - and it was just perfect. Chris & Corey helped me tremendously since this was my first time hosting such an event and I was at home with a broken ankle. They were extremely friendly and patient. The food was delicious - the pasta salad, quiches & cronuts were some of the favorites. Would definitely order from them again, especially if there is a birthday or even a holiday, since they cater for those as well. Thanks again!
