La Pupusa Loca

This place feels very authentic. Game changer with my first time trying pupusas made with rice flour, they are delicious. The fried yucca with chicharron was so good. Also the wait time here was not as long as on other Salvadorian restaurants.

This is the worst place ever. I ordered to go. They said 45 minutes wait. I arrived exactly 45 minutes after I placed my order. When I arrived they said to wait 10 more minutes but have me waiting another 50 minutes. I have never experienced this long waiting at any other place.

some good pupusas, simple as that! chips are better in the morning than at evening maybe a different cook on shift. people complaining about the service are just used to bubbly overtalkative americans. i like that here i can walk up, say what i want, pay, wait and leave. no need for small talk!

My first experience was with takeout. The food was so good I had to go in person. Just as good in person. Highly recommend the pupusas. It's on their name for a reason. The only thing I can complain about is that the food takes way too long to come out.

Parking. Limited. Service. Great. Quality of food. Great and legit. Price. Reasonable. Parking is limited but worth a visit. Pupusas were made fresh and tasted authentic with the side cabbage.

Pedi huevos picados y me lo mandaron crudo hay pueden ver la yema sin cocinar. I ordered scramble eggs and they sent it all raw when is not supposed to be like that. It should me well cooked.

I’m just an uber driver but the fact that I wasn’t helped before the person behind me in line this place defines its self worth. I walked in and no greeting, nothing. Whatever I could live with that for about 2 minutes of waiting someone walks in behind me. Then after him an employee walks in and immediately starts helping him before helping me when I’ve been waiting longer… Never coming to eat or give this place business.

Food is just ok. Service is bad 👎 I had to ask a few times for coffee refill, napkins, and other small plate.

Food was delivered so can't speak on the ambiance. Ordered through grub hub off yelp and I have to say, you may not want to do that bcs I ordered empanadas de leche and they no longer serve it. I ordered for 3 of us so called the restaurant to request food to be seperated and utensils and at that time they told me they had no empanadas so I swapped for an order of plantains. And when speaking to the lady she was very apologetic which I appreciate it. They did separate food just no utensils which really sucked for my colleagues that are not Salvi native bcs I do not eat pupusas with utensils and of course they do. Also, restaurant/grub hub driver forgot my tamarindo drink :( Pupusas were good, I got bean and cheese, and my friend got cheese and jalapeño and the other an only bean pupusa. I would have liked the cheese ooooozing out and that was neither our case, iykyk and size of pupusas is ok could be a little bigger for price. Plantains were delicious and they were cut up in pieces vs some places just give you a half plantain (whole). I think I'm down to come back and dine in. Now I got to figure out how to dispute my tamarindo drink.

The pupusas were very fresh! These pupusas were one of the best I've had in years! I highly recommend you going there for lunch. The people who work there are very friendly.

stopped into this place to try pupusas for the first time. I ordered two and waited for almost half an hour, but unfortunately, I had to leave before getting my order because my car was ready at the AutoZone nearby. The place was busy, but it felt like everyone else got their order before me. I was pretty disappointed with how long it took for just 2 small pupusas. I asked for a refund and the girl just told me to keep waiting. I couldn't wait any longer. I won't be coming back or recommending this place.

I've had pupusas many times and these were a little smaller. The food to me is yummy. The service was delivered so it went smoothly. Their is no score for ambiance.

If you want to wait for whole hour waiting for your food and they promised you 15 mins, then by all means go ahead and waste your time here.

My sister and I came here on a Thursday evening. There were a couple people eating in already so it was lively. The restaurant is decorated with tradition Salvadoran artisany and has a tv set to a Spanish channel. At this place you seat yourself. It took the waitress a minute to bring us the menus but there were a few people trying to pay and pick up to-go orders so it wasn't a big deal. We ordered a sopa de pollo (chicken soup) and pupusas (bean + cheese, bean + cheese + pork, and cheese + pork). The waitress promptly brought us some water after we ordered. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive to our table. When I mentioned to the waitress that we would be sharing the soup, she brought us an extra bowl and spoon. The pupusas were good, not too dry, not too greasy. The soup was also well made and had plenty of veggies. It comes with rice and a garden salad. You can ask for the chicken in the soup or as part of the side dish. They will fry it for you. They season with salt and other spices. We ended up not finishing our food so the waitress promptly brought us a to-go box after she check in with us and I paid with no issues. This page says they don't take credit card but they do.

pupusas were bomb! Salsa was not spicy enough but satisfying. highly recommend . very nice staff.

The pupusas are good, they just take forever on getting your order ready, you're telling me it takes 45-60 minutes for 2 pupusas? I recommend if you're not in a rush and have time to spare.

Bad service comments all right about wait time, not a very good environment either. Would recommend any other pupusa place within a half mile from here

Segunda ves visitando este restaurante, la cómida está rica, el lugar se aprecia limpio, el ambiente muy bien. Mi única queja sería que la cómoda se demora mucho.

Horrible place, I was here for an hour and asked if my food was going to be ready and they said it wasn't prepared yet. The horchata tasted bad too it tasted so burnt. Just wasted my time for nothing.

The Tamales at La Pupusa Loca are the best in Los Angeles County yes their Pupusas yuca frita con chicharrón salpicón, empanadas, The drink ensalada, horchata.

Comida muy autentica salvadoreña, y de buena calidad. Sobre el Blvd Santa Monica y la Wilton, muy convenientemente ubicada.

I just ordered this for delivery and everything was delicious. We tried the tamales (chicken and pork), the empanadas, pupusas revueltas, and the yucca with chicharron. I will say I preferred the chicken tamales over the pork ones so I will probably stick to those in the future but both had super soft flavorful masa. I also ordered the empanadas with frijol and received the ones with cream instead but a minor inconvenience for some really tasty food. Definitely ordering again.

They have shrimp pupusa and other mixes also pupusas de arroz, parking is very limited but you can find some on the street.

The service that I fan is not the correct one because they always serve me in a bad mood and they take a long time to serve the food even if the restaurant is empty, they should be kinder to their customers and not act the way they usually do, I have been eating food in this restaurant for a long time and it is always the same, I am tired and I hope they can change their bad mood for a good one

The mixed pupusas are so delicious and packed with so much flavor. I highly recommend dining in the customer service was excellent, very attentive. Not to mention the ambiance is so welcoming and felt at home.

Hello this place a really good food probably the Customer Service bad and also when I make order for to Pupusa's or any carne asada they take One hours , For have ready my order . Really bad service probably the owner they don't know they need to provide me the number for providing reviews , another way probably they don't care.

A quien le interese, He ido a este lugar muchas veces pero últimamente las meseras andan muy apresuradas por irse no atienden bien y uno no puede sentirse a gusto de pedir lo que sea del menú por que empiezan a decir que ya no alcanzan hacerlo por que cerrarán, varias veces que hemos llegado atienden primero a personas que entraron después de nosotros aparte de eso aveces no te llevan lo que pediste si no otra cosa del menú.

Their prices are not accurate on the menus. They're not only overcharging you but the food is not great, the wait time is excessive and the service is terrible. The waiters are doing their best but they are overwhelmed and have no control of the prices being deceiving and overpriced/inaccurate. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Need to improve customer service because there's no way we get there and ordered first and the ppl behind us got their food first and I literally ordered two pupusitas! They literally took over 30 mins for two pupusas and it shouldn't have taken that long, the food is good I loved the pupusas de arroz their my favorite the flavor is good the ambiente is okay not bad, next time i think it would be better to order on the phone and pick up in person ‍ .

If I could give zero stars I would. People who got there after us got their beverages and food before us. From the very beginning when we were approached the waitress was very rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. I let it go, brought two out of our 5 drinks, she took our order and we had to re order our drinks. Food took 30 minutes and still no drinks. I had to ask another waitress for them, for her to hand me a coffee across the table over my one year old son, I thought that was very dangerous as she could have dropped a hot coffee on a one year old and kids are unpredictable he could've easily knocked it over if he put his head up. The only time we were approached after getting our food was because we asked for our check. We asked for a box to go, they took another 10 minutes and the only reason they brought it was because I sent my family to the car and they thought we weren't going to pay. No refill on coffee, no making sure if everything was okay, never checked in if we wanted anything else. Absolutely horrible service from all of them.

This is delicious Salvi food. Their salpicon is nostalgic. The pupusas are delicious, not greasy with great curtido and salsa. Their yucca con chicharron is delightfully crispy while still tender. Their horchata is earthy, nutty, and sweet without being excessive. That being said, this is not the place if you're in a rush. Salvi food takes time. The staff is always nice, feels like an aunt or cousin is feeding you.

First of all they took an hour second of all the service was bad third the food was bad and the the soup was to go bad And the rice was microwave

The first time i came here it took 45min from the time I ordered to actually getting my food. Mind you all I ordered was 2 pupusas. In between that time not once did they come around to check on me or at least say food was being prepared. Nothing. Once I got the food, it was good. Today I went in willing to try again. Restaurant was at about 10% capacity. Stood at the door to be seated for several minutes, was never acknowledged. After 5-6 min I walked out! RIDICULOUS!!

Worst place ever! Worst customer service. Waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes, after being rushed to make up my mind to order. As a big foodie, and Latin American. I DO NOT recommend. Nor the party I was with. Peor restaurante Salvadoreño! Esperando 1 hora y 45 minutos después que nos iso apurarnos para Ordenar. La comida, peor! No lo recomendamos!

the food was undercooked and the flavor was too salty.The service was awful they never came to see if our food was ok or offer any refills for our drinks. The whole experience was very disappointed.

worst place to get Salvadorean food, they told me to pick up my food in 35 minutes but they took an hour for my order. not coming back and the cashier has the worst attitude. they need more cooks.

Amazing food and service!! I would definitely recommend this place for cheap and good homemade food. The fresh juices like the tamarindo are amazing and taste fresh.

Been here so many times and i always forget to write a review. My moms loves coming here and since it's one of her favorites I'll give it the four stars. BUT! I am so picky with Salvadorian food i always compare it with my moms/aunts cooking that nothing else compares. But, we know some of the employees and they are always so welcoming and love talking with my mom. They share their stories and I enjoy hearing them. I do love the platanos with beans and cream. Super yummy and the plantains aren't oily which i appreciate. I know the sour cream isn't imported from El Salvador, it doesn't taste the same from over there. But, close enough. I'll continue to support this place because again I like the staff and i like that my mom likes it too.

They are charging more than the price shown on the menu. When I got the bill and asked about it, the waitress told me that they had increased their prices but their menu still didn't reflect them. She said the owners were aware of it but didn't seem like they were working on it. This is not a "kitchen fee" or "Healthcare fee", it's just a deceptive, and probably illegal tactic for people who might not check their bill. Additionally, when I checked my bank account, the amount was even higher! I have my receipt which shows one amount and the charge on my bank is showing higher. I have disputed it with my bank but I wonder how much more they are making from these practices.

saw some food show on pupusas and had the cravings so decided on this place after googling it. headed over and located in a small strip mall type conplex. place looked legit. had sone old hole in the wall vibe in el salvador. ordered the cheese and pork and cheese and refried type bean pupusas. cost $4 each. they cook to order so good sign. took about 20 min. was worth the wait. portion was decent size. hot and crispy. cheese was gooey. and seasoning tasty. came with some mild salsa pico de gallo flavor and a cabbage slaw that had a vinagery flava, wrap it like a taco and put it your. yum. tasty. will for sure repeat. great value.

food is not good over charging I ask her how much the pupusa is she didn't answer they don't even know English in USA that's mad crazy they look at you bad like you eat there breakfast or some just don't go

Incredible. We went yesterday for lunch and got the pupusa revuelta and chiccharon, plus tacos and a chicken quesadilla for the kids. The pupusas were phenomenal, as was the curtido that comes with. We ended up ordering extras to take home, they were so good. Even better, the tacos and quesadilla were extremely good (and we are super picky, El Amigo in Waltham is our #1 along with everyone else). Small space but we were able to get 4 counter seats in a row around 1pm. Great because we could watch the ladies make everything fresh! Service was great - despite being super busy, everything was quick and easy. Those ladies can multitask like nobody's business! We live 30 mins away but will back, and that's a high bar.

Ordered take out inside the restaurant. Place is really cute but when I got home our order was not complete. My wife's order was not in the bag. We split mine and the food was amazing.

Great food, so fresh and delicious and they were able to accommodate a large group of us at 10pm. Wonderful experience!

I will definitely be coming back here ! I had the Yuca con Chicharrón and pupusa's and they where fire ! I thought they undercharged me but that's really there pricing ! Like what love it here
