Very nice stay for me and three friends. Grounds were amazing. We did not use restaurants, however we got coffee, salad, snacks, etc from Marketplace- quality was good for price point. Our room was cute and fit theme of hotel wonderfully. Only issue was the app and at booking and at checkin was told we had connecting rooms however they weren’t and do not have any available but it worked out fine. Highly recommend this for a quiet getaway.

Beautiful resort! Great place for family with young children…many swimming pools around this resort… a nice place to retreat especially during the January! While everywhere is cold, no wonder people in the east coast flocks here… now that is part of the Waldorf hotel collection, the resort is pictured perfect beautiful with flowers everywhere! The Ginger Roger resort is where we had our board meeting.. the Adobe grill is actually very good!! Many rooms to choose from.. many “Adobe” .. our villa #501 is named after Ginger Rogers with 2 huge bedrooms so is great for family and the huge living room is excellent for small meetings or retreat group..with bonus if swimming pool in front

Second time staying here and generally excellent. Room was a spa villa and over the top excellent with indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Awesome outdoor terrace with comfortable couches and tables. View of the grounds was superb. Enormous bathroom, superior lighting, great towels and bedding. If you can spring the extra cash for one of these rooms it’s worth the cost. Have stayed in one of the more basic rooms and it was quite dark yet comfortable. Was disappointed this time with the Marketplace coffee shop and 26 restaurant breakfast the last day. Marketplace is a mismanaged nightmare. Plenty of people behind the counter but line wait with just, say, 8-10 people was a good 20 minutes. Then you have to wait another 20 minutes to receive your drink if it’s any sort of specialty coffee. Also, a couple of the servers are downright brutish. On our last day 26 put a hold on seating despite less than 50% of the tables being occupied as the kitchen was backed up. Went to the front office manager who went above and beyond the call to take care of us. Was also highly annoyed at all the “ livestock”. Dogs were everywhere. Dog feces in several places on the otherwise spotless sidewalks. Pointed it out to grounds keepers who could have cared less. Dirty room service plates sat just off the sidewalk by our room for 2 days. Fitness facility has limited equipment and is severely tight space and CROWDED! I discovered how parking can be a nightmare when i decided to just drive a couple miles to get coffee in the morning (you’ll have to in order to not die of old age in the Marketplace line). It appears that around 7:30-8 am the parking in the spa area is completely full from outside people coming for tennis lessons etc. if you’re paying up for a spa villa you’ll be annoyed at having to search for a spot at the front if the hotel. Still, beautiful grounds, very tranquil and excellent front desk crew.

Worst resort experience I’ve ever had. Oldy moldy! Room smelled like mold, had to move to a new one which was “renovated” - nope, also moldy. They have many courtyards all with pools to relax, which seems great except the landscapers tag team all day. If it’s not the mower, it’s the hedger, it’s not the hedger it’s the trimmer. Enjoy an afternoon of huffing gassy fumes, have your allergies go nuts from grass clippings and the glorious sound of motors. Try going to another one of the many pools to get away from it? Oh no. It’s all coordinated and going on there as well. Horrible

The layout was designed so well. It can be a getaway from a getaway. There were lots of kids and dogs throughout the property. So it's kid and pet friendly. However you can find a pool where there is nobody is around. The spa and workout facilities were nice. The breakfast buffet was pricey $48/person but worth it.

This was my first time staying at this resort after I had heard so much about it and seen it once before. Mostly everything was great. Pools are lovely, grounds are beautiful, the fruits on property are delicious, and champagne George was a real treat! That being said, the pricing is absurd $7 for a hot tea, the restaurants are all sub-par, the pool sometimes had happy hour but sometimes didn’t, plus upon trying to drop into a tennis clinic they let me on the court but then asked me to leave because someone who was 10 minutes late finally showed up. Quite bizarre. Overall the resort is very family oriented and elderly couples, so an interesting vibe. The staff was great and virtual concierge was fun!

I’ve stayed here before and for a cheap basic room it was good. The grounds are great with a million pools and a fun classic hotel vibe. Rooms around smaller pools make it not feel as busy or big as it is. ||Unfortunately this place has terrible customer service and if it’s at all busy everything breaks down. They nickel and dime you every chance they get. And don’t even think about paying for a nicer room because honestly they’re not worth it and will just make you angry you’re wasting your money. ||The hotel was busy due to the fires in LA and upcoming pga tournament. Check in was rushed and was not informed of perks/benefits of my rate until I asked. I ended up splurging and upgrading and it was not worth it. Their renovated rooms have chrome bathroom fixtures instead of bronze and new TVs but as far as I could tell that’s it. Rotting wood doors, weird layouts, everything just kind of old and not in the charming way. ||Management did not care. They were curt and unhelpful and just want to nickel and dime their guests. ||Restaurants had a long wait and bad service. The breakfast is not good, the Mexican restaurant is ok food.

Surprised I have never reviewed the La Quinta Inn, I have been there many times over the last decade or so. This is one of those places that manages to age well, while keeping the things that made it famous, it still can translate to a modern, upscale experience. History this place has in spades. Once the winter retreat of Hollywood elite, enjoying silent picture stars and film producers, it is now a favorite of young families with its clustered one and two bedroom villas, and picturesque grounds. Offering tennis and golf, multiple pools and gift shops, this place hums with activities. Dining opportunities offer Mexican at the outdoor Adobe Grill, the modern California centric Morgans of the Desert or Twenty6 that straddles being a bar or a casual restaurant. Recently a number of The Bachelor shows have been centered there. This builds on its reputation as a home to the stars.Frank Capra was a frequent resident. The pools often entertained the Hollywood elite of the 30s and 40s. Not inexpensive, it is not overly expensive. A real treat for those visiting the desert.

Yelp
Checked in to see family close by. Our room was not ready. The grounds were pretty and the staff pleasant. We enjoyed the food and the bar. We didn't have the best weather but I would def return. We were there for a wedding.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
The room and bathroom was super dated. The room was clean, the bathroom 50/50. I was scared half to health by massive cockroaches in the room/bathroom. I was afraid to use the bathroom then sleep there. (These were in the villas separate from the main hotel and front desk.) They were doing construction on the entire back segment where we were staying and the applet could be heard, and the back pool was filled with tree debris and construction debris. The construction crew was working around us, which was loud and distracting while trying to relax. This isn't a place where I'd stay again, at all.

Yelp
Years ago, I had stayed at a vacation rental next to the La Quinta Resort. With the recent negative reviews, I was concerned about my stay, but we had a very pleasant stay. We were booked in a King Spa Villa Room. Check-in was chaotic (there's not enough parking for guests when checking-in and then it's a long drive to your room). But once we were checked-in, everything else was very smooth. Room was on the upper floor with steep staircase to get upstairs. We had a balcony with a view of the mountains in the background. Pros: Next to a pool (rooms have their own pool areas) Coffee maker in the room (but no plug located next to coffee maker, so had to move coffee maker to bathroom) Rooms had been recently updated Very spacious Cons: When family checked-in below us, we could here everything (baby crying) Property is a bit of a maze and takes a bit to master Its a trek to get to the front desk and all the market/restaurants onsite Downstairs remote control would sometimes change the channel to the tv upstairs

Lisa L.

Yelp
The service was impeccable, even giving us carrots for the reindeer. The room was clean and well appointed, the activities for kids were well done. The pool was warm and not too crowded, especially since there's so many pools. The decor foe the holidays didn't miss a beat!

Yelp
Not a big fan.. overcrowded even in January. If you want quiet this is not the place to go. Lots of families with children and don't let me get started with all the dogs...You are better off getting food offsite. The adult pool was closed for repairs. Guests are dirty and don't care about other people. Went to use a lounge chair near pool only to see a pile of toenails or nail clippings on it. Pretty gross if you want my opinion ... Adobe Grille seating has stretched to the driveway., so far away from the kitchen that your food is cold by the time they walk it to your table..my advice is to take the table inside the restaurant not outside... The adult pool was closed due to construction. Did not hey mention this before they ran our credit card? This could've made a difference on wether or not we wanted to even stay...and please don't let me get started on parking.. or lack of...probably not coming back anytime soon.

Yelp
My wife and I recently had a horrible experience at this resort. We arrived at about 5:30 PM, check in is at 4PM. Check in went smoothly until we were told that our 1 bedroom suite was not ready nor could they tell us when it could be ready. Mind you, we spent real money for the suite and even checked in with the hotel earlier in the day to make sure everything was confirmed. They even told us we can come in earlier and they would accommodate. Needless to say we were not happy and we were told by our check in person, Fabiola, to wait while she gets a manager. At this point she was getting testy. we waited 15 minutes, no manager. Again, I went to the front desk to complain, finally a manager materialized. She looked on her computer and repeated what we were told before. It was absurd. Frustrated, I demanded a refund, I think they were happy to get rid of us. We ended up at the Grand Hyatt which was great. The lack of communication between the front desk and house keeping was beyond absurd. Finally, the next day I looked at my texts and there was on from the hotel stating our room was ready. Ridiculous!!

Yelp
We had a fabulous time at La Quinta Resort & Club. Everyone on staff went above and beyond throughout our stay. The historic property doesn't show its age, and the grounds are meticulously kept - the flowers are gorgeous. We stayed in a poolside casita overlooking a mountain view. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves for most of the week. A wedding party was staying nearby and partied into the next morning but we didn't hear a thing. On an exceptionally breezy day, we were protected from the wind. A beverage cart stopped by periodically. You can find almost anything you need on site, but you're also close to shopping and dining, and top notch golf courses, of course! We stocked up on a few things at Trader Joe's, replaced a forgotten dress at TJ Maxx, dined at the La Quinta Cliffhouse for dinner one night and golfed a PGA West course during our stay. The Old Town La Quinta Farmer's Market is a must-do if you're here for it. Highly recommend La Quinta Resort for a fantastic Coachella Valley stay!

Yelp
We stayed here from December 28th to January 2nd. Since our last visit which was a year ago I habe to sadly drop my rating to 3 stars. The room itself wasn't worth the price we use points plus had to pay an additional $150 per night which is the Hilton Owners price but to be honest not worth it. I did love the big room and it was nice to be next to the pool/jacuzzi but the room itself is so drab, needs some major upgrades and based on the other reviews I can confirm there are bugs. My son did see a cockroach a very large one in the room maybe it got in when the door was open I don't know but absolutely disgusting. Thankfully there were no more. The only thing I used in the kitchen was the fridge as I kept my water and milk but other than that didn't really use the dishwasher or do any cooking. We went to the Adobe Grill and Twenty 6. I feel like their quality of food has gone down. I remember last time the fajitas were delicious but this time they weren't as good. I had them for lunch on one day and they were good than we came again at night and they were burnt and not fresh at all. The rice and beans were awful too, I hate that they mix the rice and beans in one bowl. Oh and last time we had made to order table side guacamole, this time it was just brought out to us instead of made at our table. It was lacking some spice, salt. For the bfast we ordered one buffet and I got myself the jalapeño scramble. They forgot to add cheese I mean hellooo you need cheese, thankfully they took it back and remade it. But yeah restaurants this time I wasn't a fan. The marketplace was good but extremely overpriced. The Spanish latte was my favorite I got it a few times and enjoyed it. The property itself is nice and big and definitely can get lost. They only have one fitness center which sucked because it was super packed and you had idiots hogging the machines for literally 30 plus minutes they could really use another fitness center for as big as the property is. The front staff was okay and overall staff was okay, didn't feel that welcome. All in all it was okay stay and I probably won't come back anytime soon. I was looking into the spa but their prices were like $300 for a facial. Yeah no thanks.

Yelp
What a great property for families and dog owners alike. With its historical roots, this property is a real gem with beautiful grounds, lots of space, and the solitude you crave. The layout of the hotel grounds is best in class and the location is stunning! Enjoy long walks, relax by the pool, make that spa appointment, and unplug from the craziness of your lives (unless you brought your kids ). Things you need to know: - order ahead for breakfast through the website and skip the line! - on busy days, use the mobile check in - such a time saver. But do go back and get your parking pass when it's less crazy - ask about their event schedule - they host cute movie nights and other family centered activities. - make dinner reservations in advance; it will save you a headache and potential heartache - the only baby changing station I came across is in located inside the Twenty 6 restaurant bathrooms - icemachines are oddly lacking but you can request ice to be sent to your room Things for Hilton: Not having baby changing stations in the public spaces is a huge miss (and a surprising miss for a brand like Hilton). Both the lobby restrooms and the restrooms used by the Adobe Grill don't have changing stations. This is a shared frustration for all families with small children - simply put, get those baby changing stations installed asap!!! But aside from that, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Yelp
I love La Quinta and will stay here next time I'm in the desert. We stayed here in 2014 but I guess I wasn't reviewing as much back then. The villas are spectacular and there are several pools so it never gets crowded! There is a wonderful fitness center and the tennis court is purple to match the chair cushions. It's one of the nicest Waldorf properties and worth the schlep!! We are lunch at Twenty and my best salad was tasty! We stopped at one of the shops and bought a shot glass for my collection and La Quinta jacket

Yelp
Loved the resort Loved the restaurants Loved everything So why 4 stars? The freaking mosquitos and the dirty hottubs (mind you, I genuinely don't care about the hot tubs and neither does anyone else). Who uses a hot tub in 115° F weather? Not us. Not anyone else. We were upgraded to a suite with a lovely patio. Greattttttt... except you cannot use it. I won't post photos of the 27, yes, freaking 27, massive red welts I have. But I will say here are photos of the blood stains from the Mosca we unalived in our room. I know it's hard to get rid of moscas but cmon guys. You gotta do something. Anything. Please. This resort is amazing... probably verging on the best hilton I've ever a stayed at - and as a diamond member I've stayed all over the world on an annual basis. This place is gorgeous. But the mosquitos ruin it for me. My poor skin is so angry looking! So are the blood stains from the murder-fest on the walls lol.

Mrs. Picky P.

Yelp
Nice resort but terrible customer service. After a long travel day we get in what seems like the valet line, until a guy bangs on the window, scaring the crap out of everyone, says 'no valet,' and gives vague directions to a parking lot we never find. Drag our luggage from the parking spot, are greeted by a man who confirms there is valet, wait in a long check-in line and meet the most unpleasant front desk woman. She asks for my ID, which I lost before traveling, so I show other ID with a picture that worked for TSA, and she's like "You got through airport security with that... scary. I'll need my manager to approve." My husband has his ID, and the last name that's on the reservation, plus my 3 children have ID, but she says "They aren't on your reservation so they can't check you in." I ask if I can add them now. "I don't know if you're you, so you can't add them." I'm like "So I murder the real Gillian, so I can travel with her family to an over-priced resort during a crowded holiday?" The entire awkward time we're having this weird stand-off, the line is growing behind us, but she does not care. At this point my daughter realizes she has a picture of my drivers license on her phone, so produces it just as the manager comes over. Thank goodness he let us check in despite everything being so suspicious! She's still treating us like a family of imposters with a dead Gillian in the trunk, and doesn't get any nicer or apologize. It's way after check-in but one room isn't ready, so when we see a guy leaving with a wet-vac, the room smells like a disinfected crime scene, and the carpet is wet, we're pretty sure something gross happened, but we're tired so open the one window that's not painted shut. The next day we pre-order breakfast on line. We arrive at the Marketplace, are ignored for a while until a woman asks us for the last 3 digits on the order, but I don't have my phone. So I'm an imposter again, but this time I've moved on from steeling rooms to steeling breakfast. I tell her, "My phone is charging, I didn't know you needed a code, but I can tell you those are 3 vanilla lattes" at which point she touches the bag of food, daring me to guess the contents, so I list 6 items, but another stand-off until I remember the 7th thing in the closed bag. Again, there is a huge line growing behind me while we do this fun dance, and then she reluctantly hands me the bag, but says in a teacher voice "Next time you need the last 3 digits" and she points to the numbers on the receipt, like I'm an idiot. We're here for 2 more days so I'm hoping things improve. And I know it's crowded and I'm sure not fun for the staff, but pick your battles, be a little kinder, and common sense might be nice.

Yelp
Our stay at La Quinta Resort was nothing short of pleasant! Celebrating a birthday there was a great choice. The room provided a cozy retreat, and the dining options were a delight with delicious meals that left us satisfied. The attentive service added to the overall positive experience. Personally, I found the Mexican restaurant to be particularly delightful, offering a tasty culinary experience and great Margaritas!

Yelp
I was excited to spend the weekend at this resort. When I arrived, I was amazed at the beautiful resort grounds and the nice drive up entrance which was well lit (I arrived at night). Check in was a quick and easy process. I arrived to my room and saw a bunch of dead bugs all over the floor. I was disgusted. I left and asked for a different room in a different building. When I arrived to my new room, there were a bunch of bugs all over the room and bed crawling around (I posted pics). I am not sure what type of bugs they were but they looked like tiny roaches ugh. They were crawling up the wall, on the bathroom floor, in the bed, everywhere! The phone in our room had no dial tone so we could not call down the front desk. Since this was the 2nd room with bugs, we knew they had an issue with bugs and no longer wanted to stay. Furthermore, the inside of the rooms are old and needs to be updated. The carpet was worn down, and the vents in the room was filthy (see pics). The hotel staff was really friendly and apologized for the issue. We paid for 2 nights but they only refunded us for 1 night (even though we never stayed in the room because of the bugs). They also gave us credit to the restaurant on the property. I took pics of the food I ordered but couldn't really bring myself to eat the food. If they have bugs in the rooms I'm sure they have bugs in the restaurant. They really need to call an exterminator to handle this issue. This was the worst hotel experience and I do not recommend this resort unless you love bugs.

Yelp
I love coming to La Quinta Resort! Daniel is a wizard with these drinks. I didn't get to take a picture of our breakfast but it was just as amazing as the service Jose provided! It's been about 3 years since I've been here and the service and food are even better than I remembered! Thank you to Daniel and Jose for making our time here memorable.

Ashley R.

Yelp
First time at LQ Resort for a quick lunch this weekend. Twenty6 was very busy so I decided to eat at the bar. Daniel at the bar was very attentive and helpful. The Ceaser salad with blackened (medium cooked) salmon was a perfect recommendation. We will be back soon for Sunday night football. Thank you Daniel, lunch was great!

Yelp
Our stay at La Quinta was an utter disappointment from the moment we arrived. The room accommodations felt like a cheap motel, and I can't fathom how this hotel holds a 4-star rating. When we checked in, my husband asked for a nice room, and the front desk lady assured us we were upgraded due to his Hilton Honors status. But when we entered our room, I felt like I had stepped into a rundown motel--small, dingy, and with worn-out furniture. And a bathtub shower? Really? How can a supposed 4-star hotel still have those? I've stayed at this property many times, but I've never encountered a room this bad. This was supposed to be an upgrade? We had booked a room with a fireplace, and clearly, this was not it. We paid $500 a night and then found out looking online that they were offering suites with full kitchens for $400 while we were stuck in a cramped, motel-like space. I went back to the front desk to speak with a manager, and that's when I met Adrian and Hugo. When I expressed my frustration, Adrian discovered that we had actually been downgraded from our original reservation. I pointed out that the front desk Lady had lied to us, but instead of taking responsibility, he defended her, claiming she was just trying to accommodate us for early check-in. We arrived at 2 PM--there should have been clear communication about our options! You don't just automatically downgrade a guest, without telling them. Adrian and Hugo had zero empathy as I laid out my concerns. It was a low peak time, and the hotel had plenty of available rooms. You're telling me that the front desk had no better options than to downgrade us? When I asked for a rate adjustment, (Our original guest room we booked was selling at $300 per night that weekend) they refused and flatly denied my request for an upgrade. They offered to move us to the original category we booked, but to a "renovated" room. There was a poor apology, no compensation--just a lack of basic customer service that left me in disbelief. Also, due to this mishap and having to change guest rooms it left my husband and I in a hurry to get to our event on time, so frustrating. When we moved to the original room we booked, it was decent but still felt sterile and uninviting. The walls were bare, and the bathroom was missing amenities. We only had mouthwash and no body lotion, which I don't travel with because I expect hotels to provide it. I tried to call Housekeeping but the phone in our guest room did not work. It took us until day two to flag down housekeeping outside to get body lotion! One night, after returning from a wedding, I tried to take a bath, but the water never got warm. I let it run for too long, hoping it would heat up, but it didn't, forcing me to give up on the bath altogether. The disappointments just kept piling up. This hotel has plummeted in quality over the years, and we will never stay here again. It's a $200-a-night establishment at best. Don't let the pretty grounds and restaurants fool you--inside, the room accommodations are straight-up motel status.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Service is great. A little pricey, but that goes with the resort setting. Have been back for lunch. Breakfast is yummy too.

Angela F.

Yelp
Came for a girls trip and we stayed in a poolside casita in the 900 block. The resort is sprawling, so be prepared with some walking shoes (I think they have complimentary golf cart rides, though, if you have difficulty getting around). Our casita was nice and quiet, and we enjoyed being able to lounge by the pool and have a hot tub right outside our door. The bathroom was huge, as well. We also spent time at the adult pool, which was really popular while we were there. The family pool was also pretty full, but we didn't spend any time there. We ate at a few of the restaurants, and all of the food that we had was good, if a little pricey. All-in-all, I would happily stay again.

Kal C.

Yelp
What is there to say? I could probably live here. Every single room is spacious and well-appointed. With 41 pools, you're bound to enjoy some well-deserved relaxation just steps from your room. The customer service is phenomenal. The food was excellent. The amount of staff needed to make this a successful operation...I can't even imagine. If you're sitting pool-side, be on the lookout for the Veuve golf cart that is a roaming bar. He drives around by the pools, which means you can get poolside bar service!

Yelp
Super overdue review: My husband and I stayed at the La Quinta Resort for our honeymoon. We were originally supposed to check out after four days, but we enjoyed it so much that we extended it an extra two. Here is why: We came here unexpectedly during the off-season and during the week. We essentially had the resort to ourselves, which was a fantastic feeling. Day and night, we saw barely anyone. After long, drawn-out months of DIY wedding planning on both our ends, this was exactly what we needed. Some R&R and alone time. As the weekend approached, particularly Friday, we noticed how busy the resort got and were glad we were checking out the following day. Room decor was exactly what you would expect, seeing that the exterior of the buildings is Spanish Colonial. I have no clue why some people have continuously complained about the interior of the rooms. It would look odd if you stepped into one of the rooms in this resort and saw a modern take on beds, furniture, bathroom style, etc. Previously we stayed at a double tree, and it was plain modern decor that did not have a "warm, cozy, at home" feeling. This place does. I personally loved the interior of the buildings that were upgraded. The service was phenomenal except for a few minor instances where 1) The front desk clerk, Luis, could not find my husband's ID after we returned the tennis rackets and balls and pretty much decided to throw this issue on us, saying "Normally we don't deal with this stuff because people don't normally return these so late. You can come back at 7 AM and ask at that point." I told him, "This was not our fault, and we would like someone to please contact us the next day when they find his ID." The next day we were called and told that Luis would be trained on where the IDs are held. The next time he saw my husband, he greeted him by name but did not apologize. While an apology wasn't necessarily expected, it would have been nice. 2) We were told that the resort fee included free golfing at PGA West as well as free driving clubs. After arriving at PGA West (Which is gorgeous, btw), we were told we needed Polo shirts and to rent the clubs. All of which would have cost us over $200. The hotel never told us this after numerous times of speaking to the concierge and front desk regarding the golf courses. Thankfully, we ended up getting in without having to purchase Polo shirts or renting clubs. They gave them to us, including a golf cart, for free. It was lovely, but we were the only ones out there in 113-degree weather, which we believe is the primary reason they let us in because we overheard that no members were on the driving range to see us. Oh, the travesty if the members had seen us not wearing polos. In the future, I don't recommend you golf in that weather. 3) After extending our stay, we returned one night at 12:30 AM and could not enter our room. We called the front desk and found out that, evidently, we were supposed to receive new key cards after we extended our stay. Normally, waiting for security wouldn't have been a big deal, but it was sweltering, and we were exhausted. We were told that new key cards would be sent to us immediately. We waited and did not hear from anyone. Instead, I woke up in the morning and noticed on our balcony, on the table outside, two key cards that were completely melted. Apparently, those were our key cards that they dropped off unexpectedly in the middle of the night without letting us know. So essentially, somebody could have hopped over our door and gotten into our room that night. Thankfully nothing like that happened. All in all a pleasant experience with some hiccups.

Yelp
Theft alert! Last year maintenance stole some money from my room. This year someone tried to charge $1000 of room service to my room. Be careful to freeze your hotel account so that nobody can put charges on your room. Also the pool by room 740 was filthy for a couple days until I complained enough, and they finally cleaned it. The coffee and flatbread pizzas in the Marketplace are abysmal. Why can't you get a good cup of coffee anywhere in this resort? And change up the restaurant menus! They are always exactly the same.

Yelp
We just dropped in for a drink this time, Stayed here last time, so this review is for drinks only. It was early in the week, so no bar service down in the gorgeous flower/yard area, so we went up to the top, got our drinks, and walked back down and sat at a table among the gorgeous floral display and views of the resort. An absolute show-stopper, and exquisite experience while in the desert. Our friends were just entranced-- I think it was the highlight of their trip--- even though we had to get our own drinks!!! .

Yelp
I have had multiple stays and visits at the La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort. Either I have stayed here personally or friends of mine have and they invited me over to visit. I must say that my experiences have left me questioning its so called five-star status. As someone who frequently booked the bungalows, in the not so distant past, I found the service to these bungalows quite lacking. It's a hassle to navigate this extensive property, whether on foot or via golf cart. Everything seems to be spread out. La Quinta Resort & Club DOES have fantastic tennis courts, and I've spent hours watching players in action. However, on one occasion, the AWFUL sulfur odor from the nearby Salton Sea made it nearly impossible for me to breathe! One aspect I appreciate about this resort is the opportunity to unwind in the pools until late at night, sipping champagne. Yet, I can't help but feel disappointed by the subpar quality of towels and robes, especially considering this is a Waldorf Astoria property. The staff, while seemingly familiar with the resort, sometimes exhibit a sense of ownership rather than prioritizing guest satisfaction. That's always been a puzzle to me. It's disheartening when even reasonable requests go are met with nodding heads but total lack of follow through. The resort's restaurants, bars, patio areas, tennis courts, and golf amenities are all appealing. However, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with the layout to avoid unfavorable room placements near pedestrian or service traffic. Some rooms are in DIRE need of renovation, and though some meeting and conference spaces have been updated, not all have received the same attention. If you plan to visit.. holidays like Christmas, Memorial Day, or Veterans Day (etc) are preferable, but I advise against coming during the scorching summer months. Like the ones we are having RIGHT NOW in July 2023! As a side note... I bet the room rates are super duper cheap during the summertime. A great activity and popular pastime is to sit back, relax, and enjoy a cigar in one of the many patio chairs placed in many strategic locations all over this property. It's worth noting that La Quinta Resort & Club is not as organized or proactive as they should be in managing activities as one might expect, given its vast workforce. I met the lady in charge of all the workers and she is ONE TOUGH COOKIE. Overall, I've come to realize that the La Quinta Resort & Club experience is entirely what you make of it. People come here with great nostalgia from past history that started in the 1920s...but the resort then was not anything like it is now... so you can romanticize about it as much as you want.. but remember YOU are the one that makes this experience NOT the staff. I strongly suggest that when you book this property and come here.... do NOT have overly high expectations regarding their level of service, as it falls short of the typical five-star experience. (and... I hope Waldorf Astoria... a "global hospitality company" reads this and does something to improve this property and the experience)

Yelp
This review is so sad for me to write. After 20 years going to La Quinta this past spring break will most likely be our last stay. The only luxury part of the resort is the price you pay to stay there and if you want to enjoy your vacation make sure you are ready to be a self centered selfish person that wakes up at 6am to put your towels on the lounge chairs to reserve them for the day and then watch how people wake up and come out of their rooms only to find all the chairs taken with no people sitting on them. And then if you dare take one of the chairs have people behave like they are in high school and start yelling at you. So bad even the people working there are afraid to enforce the rules because people don't know how to behave. So next time maybe think about how you want to spend your vacation. If relaxation is what you are looking for I would go elsewhere.

Yelp
The resort is very lovely, and the grounds are gorgeous, although the ridiculous summer temperatures kept exploration to a minimum. I found the resort to be charming - it's confusing to navigate at first, but the different building styles and grounds are a really gorgeous setting for a relaxing stay. I really enjoyed the main pool which never got too crowded, and wished the smaller courtyard pools could accommodate more people or at least be cleaned more frequently to allow people to spread out. The shared pool spaces were surrounded by what seemed like 8-10 rooms from the 3-4 surrounding villas, but it seemed like groups of friends or families with multiple rooms took over these pool areas and occupied the seating areas for most of the day. If it's summertime and you're looking for pool time, I'd recommend trying to get a room on the far west side of the property as it could be quite a trek from the main building and original casitas.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to stay and golf . a lot of things have changed but if you want something that is not a high-rise cookie cutter mega hotel I want the little Casitas 1 Story pool house. This is your place. Weekends the music is nice. The service at the restaurant was excellent after they're having a Ruud bartender.

Yelp
Love this place! Beautiful grounds, lovely large rooms with comfortable beds, good restaurants, nice tennis club, great spa, and nearby golf... What more could a person that goes to the desert want?

Yelp
The short, awful experience, disgusting room and piss poor customer service. The long: I can see why this place is no longer a Waldorf. I booked a poolside casita with a fire place and when I did my online check in I picked a particular room. Once I arrived they switched me to a different room, which later turned out to be a handicapped room. The receptionist could care less about customer service and was very short with me. I asked where my room was and she didn't show me and instead told me to ask the valet for directions (no joke, she actually said this) and proceeded to answer a phone call. When I got to the room, it was dirty with stains and in a dark corner of the resort facing a parking lot. I then noticed the price of the room had dropped over $100 per night. I go to the front desk and try to resolve my issue but they said there's nothing they could do since I had already checked in. The manager was being quite difficult with me and only offering a $50 resort credit. Update: As I'm writing this at the front desk while the manager is clicking through her computer, presumably to waste my time, she suddenly had a change of heart and upgraded me to a larger room and now will give this place a 3 instead of 1 star. Good for the manager for making things right, I will see how this new upgraded room is, but so far this place kinda sucks.

Yelp
Went out for a few days with another couple. My friend booked our reservation through Booking.Com and paid upfront to secure the reservation for two premium rooms. When we arrived at the hotel there was a long line to check-in. After waiting for 30 minutes, we got to the desk where we were told that one of our rooms was reserved, but the other was not there, despite having a confirmation for two premium rooms. Ended up having to take an inferior room with a smaller bed and promised a $200 resort credit and that the manager would call my friend about adjusting the payment for made at Booking.com. That call never came; we did receive a $200 credit. The difference in room rates appears to be at least $220 per night from looking at the Hilton website. The rooms in this hotel vary extremely as the first ones were built in 1927. Another customer said his Expedia reservation was completely gone. So that is worse. Other comments about the resort - service staff in restaurants are very friendly and competent. Rooms were made up quickly. However we got shorted some towels and because the phone in our room was not working; we started taking them from the pool. We reported that the phone was not working and it never was fixed. Internet is poor - my husband needed to send some emails off his laptop and they would not send until we arrived at a Private Golf Club and used their internet.

Yelp
My mixed thoughts may have to do with the fact that it was a busy Labor Day weekend. I arrived on the Saturday afternoon of Labor Day. The website said there was free valet, so that's what I was going to do because I had a lot of luggage and wanted someone just to park the car and bring the luggage to my room. I follow the signs to the valet, but no one came over to my car. I walked up to the front door and asked about the valet because I was checking in and they told me just to leave the car there because I would be moving it closer to my room. They said that they actually don't have valet overnight. The website FAQs says "Both self and valet parking are included in your resort charge." When I went to check in, the line was so long...it took me a full half hour to check in. I had called a few days before I checked in and asked for a room close to the adult pool wall. The woman I spoke to said she would put me in the 200s, which was as close as she could get me. When I asked about that when I checked in, the woman said there weren't any of my room type (starlight casita) closer to the adult pool, but she had me in the 800s. I was given a map and told where to park, but they were no parking spots in that area. I needed to drive around and find another spot, find where my room was, and make two long trips from my car to the room, including up the stairs. This whole process took another half hour and I was drenched in sweat by the time I got everything into the room. The room itself was nice and the outdoor space with the starlight casita was amazing. By 730, it was pleasant enough to sit out there, and I really enjoyed that. That outdoor space was probably my favorite part of the trip and would be the reason I'd come back. The pillows in the room were comfy and it was relatively quiet at night. When I got to the room, the thermostat was set to 75 which was way too warm. The air conditioning never got quite cold enough for me no matter how low I set it. The room does get very bright in the morning. There is a mini fridge in the room and they put bottle water in each day. There are also good amenities like mouthwash and bath salts. The closet was small and there was no room to use the luggage stand in the closet. There was a robe and slippers though. I ordered room service the first night. It was a burger that included fries and the total was $40. They said there was a service charge (22%?) plus a five dollar delivery fee and I was asked if I wanted to leave a gratuity on top of that. That's a very expensive burger! I would've eaten in the restaurant if I wasn't so wiped out from the check in process and getting to the room. I saw that room service can be delivered anywhere which is nice. I also saw that the Marketplace has online ordering to avoid the wait in line. The casita pools were very crowded, but the adult pool wasn't too bad. I was out there all morning and there were always chairs available. The pool was dirty each day with bugs and leaves (and I found a straw one day....ewww). I didn't want to get in the pool after seeing that. I get that it can be hard to keep up with stuff getting in the pool, but I was out at 7 am and never saw anyone using the skimmer to clean it. I would've even been okay having a skimmer that I could use myself. They had reserved signs on the loungers that were like couches and I think they're $200 per day. I sat on the regular lounge chairs right next to them that didn't have a reserved sign on them. I was there for 2 hours until someone told me I had to pay for those too. Then put a sign on it! Frustrating to move all my stuff when I was settled. I always found towels at the adult pool, but not at the casita pool. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, orange trees, and water features. There are also classes you can take on the weekend. They have any easy process to text requests or questions and they always responded quickly. However, one of my requests was that I couldn't get the fireplace to turnoff and it took 3 texts and all day to have someone take care of that. They were able to give me noon checkout on Tuesday by text. The staff was friendly. One person who stood out was Tavo (hopefully I got that right). My shoe broke, so I was hobbling along and he gave me a ride in the golf cart to my room. Much appreciated! The place has a lot of good things, but also a lot of areas of improvement. Not sure if I'll come back or not.

Yelp
It's a sad day to give this place a one star review but here we are. Checked into a room full of bugs and residue. Booked two rooms and both AC's broke down. One throughout the night, the other during the day. Treated poorly by the pool. All with a compensation for $50 from their nonchalant manager. Just wondering: would anyone stay in a boiling hot room for $50? Didn't think so. I paid $1600 for 2 nights and this wonderful service. NEVER AGAIN!

Yelp
Epic property about 35 minutes from PSP that really makes you feel away from it all. The stuccoed buildings and casitas are charming and well maintained. Conference facilities are modern inside while maintaining the character of the architecture outside. On-site restaurants are superb. From your first entrance down the long drive to your exit, the manicured grounds with fun activities (giant chess, connect 4, pools, putting green), desert plants and fountains make this a beautiful resort to remember.

Mark R.

Yelp
Stayed here over the weekend... in a room that was designed back in the 20's... when AC's were not in use! Being in a room that was in the mid-80's when the outside temp was in the 110's and all they could say was because of how the room was positioned, the AC can only accommodate up to the 80's??? Then I suggest closing this room down in Summer and not let guests rot and melt! Room 829... be warned: if this is what you have, have the room changed!!! This was supposed to be a fun event over the weekend - and to think this was supposed to be a wonderful and highly rated Hotel & "Resort?!" I would have probably gotten a better stay experience at a regular La Quinta Inn!!!! And to add more disgusting stuff, they finally moved us to a new room and discovered this the following morning in multiple areas of the room! Spot the difference!

Bridie M.

Yelp
Expensive but very lovely. The pools are amazing and fun to be able to jump from main pool to larger. Restaurant is good but not amazing. Great location! Fun for families! Very kid friendly.

Yelp
Excellent room!! So large and spacious with lots of places for your 'things'. The resort is definitely very old and the rooms are as well, but for the most part they are clean and the beds were mostly comfortable. Our friends and us bought our nights through a Travel Zoo deal. It was a a great deal since it's blazing hot (110°) and off season in the desert. The deal included a reduced resort fee ($20 instead of $35) and it includes parking which is great since many resorts charge for parking in addition to the resort fee. The check in process was quite easy; however they wanted the deal printed on paper and not on my phone. So I had to screenshot so the front desk could screen shot with the code. Somewhat archaic and a little bit of an inconvenience, but it worked finally. We received our rooms early which was great!! Our rooms were in the 600s and since our deal was for rooms steps from the pool, it was perfect! Unfortunately our friends room smelled musty and no spray could make it go away and they didn't have any rooms comparable and steps from the pool. Our room had a nice refrigerator with ice maker, Keurig coffee maker, creamer, cups, stirrers, glass wine glasses and glasses. A safe, white robes, pool towels, a gas fireplace (see pics). Our friends rooms did not have everything ours did. There are many, many pools. The pool outside our rooms was a long pool. We never made it to the main pool or adult only pool. Apparently at the main pool, during peak season any maybe weekends, the bar is open. At our pool there wasn't any bar, but the first day a cart came by asking if we wanted anything to eat or drink. The second day no one showed up to ask us. It was nice having restaurants on the grounds. First night we dined at Adobe Grill (Mexican food). The food was good, not great. Although my Pozole Rojo appetizer was delish!! My friends jalapeño margarita wasn't to his liking nor was my White Lightening Sangria. It was super sweet and even though it said it had apples and grapes there were none. We returned both drinks. It wasn't very crowded when we were sat and ordered, but items seemed to take a while to come out of the kitchen. And when we needed something, we had to wait till our waitress brought it to us even though we asked the servers who brought out our food or water. The prices seemed high, but then again we are finding dining out has increased. Morgan's Steak house is also on the grounds but after looking over their prices, decided to leave property and dine somewhere else. The grounds are gorgeous for sure and walks around property are fun. A few oversized games are on the lawn for anybody to play. There was a lovely rock waterfall/pond with chairs to sit and enjoy it while under a very large tree. They also have a Marketplace for snack items, easy food items, Gelato, coffee, tea, alcoholic drinks etcetera. The one thing that grossed us out was the pool. It was murky, the decorative tile all the way around the inside the pool and the tile on the outside edges were very dirty, yucky dark mucky stuff. Most likely people's suntan oil/sunblock. The pool really needs a good cleaning as does the jacuzzi as well as resurfaced. Again in the crevices of the jacuzzi floor that is chipping is the same dark, yucky looking stuff as the pool. Definitely gross!! There are lots of lounge chairs and very large umbrellas which need to be raised by the staff with a special tool gun. Gorgeous scenery while lounging poolside, mountains and palm trees against a gorgeous sky with large puffy white clouds at least when we were there. I'd give it four stars, but the pool was gross and our bathtub didn't drain so we had standing water while showering and also in our double sinks. Again another nice feature! Another fyi, after reading my Travel Zoo vouchers, you receive a discount on the room and resort fee but will pay taxes on the room and resort fee.

Yelp
This property is for ppl who want to get wasted. That combined with thin walls = TOTAL DISASTER . If you are a large group that doesn't want to party till 6 AM, DO NOT STAY HERE. The Hotel cannot handle their are unruly guests. I came with a professional group for a relaxing, retreat. Our neighbors (we didn't know), threw a rager in their room from 3-6 am. (Attaching a video of their music bumping) We repeatedly called and texted the front desk. 1. When they sent security, it takes a minimum of 20 mins to arrive. So prepare to not sleep. 2. We asked to be move to another room when it was clear this wasn't going to stop. They "couldn't rekey us until the doorman came at 6am". This made no sense to me, but they Brian (who I spoke with) was very adamant about it. 3. I was staying for 2 days so I didn't want to be in that room if the neighbors would be there a second day. Attaching screenshots where they told me the party next door would be checking out that day. Which the after speaking with Patricia (the manager) later on in the day, she told me they were staying till Sunday. Suddenly, they were able to provide me with an alternative room. They never removed the partying guests from the hotel, and honestly the staff didn't really seem to care. They said it happens all the time. Good luck if you plan to stay here. (Also their Wi-Fi sucks)

Yelp
What a wonderful property! This place has so much to offer. From private patios that are small to big, Spacious Villas / Adobes that can fit a whole family plus some. 41 pools on the property that's wonderful! No need to rush, you can take your time. Hot tubs were just warm in some areas. Other than that, our stay was amazing. The Staff was pleasant. A few restaurants on the property were good. I really enjoyed The 26 Grill. (I think that was the name is downstairs) Bar ambiance and good food. The Adobe was great also. Live music and packed depending on what time you arrive. Plenty of Tequila to choose from. We explored. I can't wait to do it again. Probably a girl's trip next time!!!!!!!

Yelp
Full disclosure: The resort addressed our initial concerns almost immediately and upgraded us to a tremendous suite ... which still had its fair share of problems. We arrived for a two-night getaway so excited to revisit La Quinta. We arrived at our room, which we booked using a TON of HiltonHonors points, and immediately noticed ... eek! Tiny spiders and all sorts of strange flecks in the tub. We called for assistance (not that we couldn't do this on our own, but at these prices ...). Meanwhile, we noticed the heavily scuffed bathroom cabinets and frayed bathroom lighting. When we got into the shower, the door wouldn't close, and a damaged drain cover could cause serious injury. We called again about this (actually, texted -- a system we don't like but that is efficient), and were told someone would come look at it while we were at dinner. We arrived back four hours later and a maintenance guy was still there, hammering away at 10:15 pm! We contacted the manager, who was INCREDIBLY RESPONSIVE. She moved us into the most beautiful suite. We were shocked and delighted. Alas, the suite had a shower head that didn't work, a sink that wouldn't drain, a broken gate latch, and a rattling air conditioner register. Rather than continue complaining, we lived with it, and were delighted overall with the suite despite its shortcomings. Would we go back? Hm. MAYBE. This resort charges excessive premium prices, and we cannot say it is worth that cost. But it is beautiful, the service is impeccable, the responsiveness is impressive, and I got the feeling they were genuinely concerned. But the kinds of hassles we had were not ones you'd expect at any hotel outside of maybe a budget one. Disappointed doesn't begin to cover it. Ultimately, we were somewhat placated, and we LOVE the feel of the place as a whole. But we'd probably look for somewhere else next time.

Yelp
Never tell these jerks how long you plan to stay, because they'll charge you all of it, no matter how long you stay there

Melineh H.

Yelp
Awful, horrible, traumatized. No, I am not talking about marriage, I am referencing my recent stay (one night/ May 21) at La Quinta Resort & club a "WALDORF" resort (HAHA I cant even type that with a straight face. Not a Waldorf vibe at all) 43 Acres of Property 41 Pools. YES. You read that right; 41 POOLS. ZERO Management at pools. Z.E.R.O. Like there is nobody. I went to SIX (6) out of the 41 pools, in 104 degree desert weather until I gave up. Pool #1 Adult Pool (21 + over): ABSOLUTELY NO LOUNGE CHAIRS FULL / Packed and the vibe was just GROSS. NOT a 'luxury' resort at all. I felt like I was in a disgusting Vegas Pool party and was going to go home with the gift that keeps giving. Pool looked FILTHY. The bar to the right of the pool was packed and the employees looked deflated. Pool #2 & #3 & #4: Again, NO Lounge chairs. I refused to 'tan' on a chair or lay my towel on the EXTREMELY HOT concrete floor. Distance between each pool is approx. 5 minute walk. Its okay except it was SO HOT that it felt like 30 minutes. Pool #5: A couple were acting like this is their parents backyard. They had on of those 'pill' music players next to the pool where they proceeded to play Guns N Roses "November Rain" on repeat. Not 1x but like 10x. Being that I was already in a fragile mental state, I didnt feel like emo music was on my itinerary. They lingered on the side of the pool, dry humping each other while drinking from a canister. I secretly called front desk and whispered my concern like I was a hostage; they stated there is NO amplified music aloud and they would send security. ONE Hour later, nobody showed up. I gave up and went to Pool #6. Pool #6: "CARTER! DO YOU HAVE POOP IN YOUR DIAPER?????" That was it. I went straight to my room and gave up. My chest and stomach was covered with a heat rash from all the time wasted searching for a pool to cool down. I felt sick and was essentially confined to the bed and bathroom for the remainder of the afternoon. Restaurant: Good luck. NO seating for hours and no regard to guests. We left and went to the RITZ where its 5 star across the board. It was like taking the worlds best sedative- my anxiety went from a 10 to a 2 until we had to return for the end of the night. This 'resort' is NOT a resort- its all a show as they solely rely on the pretty property/landscape. Behind the facade. It is a poorly managed 2 star Hotel with ZERO customer service and NOT a representation of Waldorf properties. I didnt eat anything, drink anything, enjoyed NOTHING.

Yelp
We stayed here last month for a couple of days... the resort is very nice... the staff will go out of there way to take care of all your needs.... The rooms are old but really clean.... Each group of rooms has its own pool area or you can go to the big pools... pretty hot already and it's getting hotter by the day... See you next year...

Tara L.

Yelp
My family comes to La Quinta often since we live close and always enjoy our time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, tons of pools, and lots of dinning options to choose from. We've been very lucky to get to know a lot of the staff, Mariana at Adobe is amazing! She always goes above and beyond for our daughter which makes us love her even more. Ray at the main pool is always friendly and accommodating with different drink requests. He always takes time to ask us about our stay and little details in our life. Brian from Morgan's is really an exceptional employee, he remembers our food and drink preferences. He really feels like an old friend whenever we see him. If you are staying at the resort or even there for a quick meal make sure to seek these guys out, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Excellent place, I felt like I was on vacation ... great atmosphere and food was delicious too

Yelp
The La Quinta Resort and Club is paradise in the desert. A wonderful location to get away and relax. There are 41 pools on site ranging from small to lap pools to huge group pools. Our favorite is the 21+ pool with pool side bar service. There are multiple rooms and casitas to choose from. Wifey and I love the casitas with the private patio to enjoy the beauty of the hotel and desert in the early morning and sunset. The service is top notch. There are so many friendly staff members through our the resort. You can ask for help for your room by text and order food using your room keycard that is delivered to your room or even by the pool. Beautiful, Clean, Amazing. Great location for a 3 day weekend with the family or just you and your spouse!

Yelp
Enjoyed our Christmas season visit to La Quinta Resort. Made a great base for our family of five. Pricey, and the rooms are pretty beat, but the location is great. We didn't have any problems with roaches or other insects like some of the other reviewers encountered. The in-house restaurants were overpriced, but the food and drinks were ok. Nothing special. Our unit had a full kitchen and it was missing a lot of basic items -- there were just a few mismatched dishes, a few glasses, a couple of coffee mugs, a smattering of silverware. Enjoyed having a pool/jacuzzi right outside our back gate and we kept our fireplace running whenever we were in the room. Kind of a haul to Palm Springs, but close to some great hiking at the south end of La Quinta town. We're going to give the Legacy Villas at La Quinta Resort a try next Christmas -- the prices are a fraction of La Quinta Resort and the condition of the units looks a LOT better. Plus some of the units have actual garages, so you don't have to fight for parking like you do at La Quinta Resort.

Yelp
Have been going to this resort for close to 14 years for Church and Corporate functions, was there this weekend for a church function, our itinerary showed check out for 1 pm, which we always have. they called my phone at 11:45 during communion , was told I was to check out at 11 because thay had someone waiting for the room, I explained my checkout was for 1pm, they said they supersede any function itinerary and they would extend my checkout till noon, they put me in a room that was already booked for Sunday and tried to make it my fault, they messed up and tried to blame me for over staying, very rude front desk that didn't seem to care, I will never return to this resort for any functions,

Tom S.

Yelp
Room has musty smell, so bad I can taste it. Yuck! Management says they have no other rooms available, check back tomorrow. I have asthma, not interested in getting sick from whatever mold is growing in this room. I may have to just leave. Very disappointed.

Gianna S.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place, but I was rather disappointed. We were automatically "upgraded" to a room overlooking the backend facilities and garbage area for the resort. It was noisy with the sound of broken glass late at night as bottles were discarded in the dumpsters and loud generator equipment that ran 24/7. As a result we had to keep the windows shut all night and I slept poorly. Our room also could use a refresh. We wanted to rent a cabana at the main pool but the pool was pretty small, the drinks were terrible, and the kitchen closed right as we walked up. We had room service delivered to the pool instead and it was so terrible we ended up throwing most of it away. We used a smaller pool by our casita the next day which was relaxing, but I really was hoping to have the resort experience where I could order and enjoy yummy food and drinks poolside. Without that I might as well just stay home and enjoy my own pool. Most of the staff were friendly. I didn't like that housekeeping showed up on the final morning prior to checkout time though as I was packing up and wrangling my toddler. I also would have liked to have known about the resort's activities and amenities, but the woman who checked us in did not give us any information. The mountains were beautiful though and breakfast at Twenty6 and dinner at Morgan's were decent.
