Delicious sandwiches (panini), the one with panchetta and veggies was supreme! They have lots of pizza or focaccia slices to choose from, which they heat up for you, if you'd like. I can recommend getting the food to eat inhouse, they have lots of bar seating and an interesting space (they display cooking essentials, an old motorcycle and lots of vintage weighing scales). It gets busy at lunchtime (as locals know how good La Renella is!!!) but the food is well worth a short (5-10 min) wait - as then you have time to choose from their large selection.

Found it by accident and it’s one of the best roman pizzas I’ve had. Half price compared to the overpriced touristy places. Thin crust and lots of flavor&toppings. (Forget the pastry &coffee there though).

🍕🍕🍕Every tourist wants to know “where the locals go” well look no further than La Renella!! Just across the Arno River in hustling Trastevere, Rome, La Renella is serving up oven (forno) favorites. When we visited, locals were purchasing large quantities of bread for tomorrow and a food guide was ordering various samples for their clients. NO LESS THAN 15 PIZZA OPTIONS!! Tomato, Prosciutto, Mortadella, Margherita, Caprese, Marinara with parsley, anchovies, you name it, there’s something for everyone. We didn’t leave a crumb! Everything was delicious but my favorite was the prosciutto which had the edges crisped after the oven reheat. ⭐️ Pro Tip: Figure out what you want and then be bold and order. Staff will use scissors to cut the size you want. You can have a small slice or as much as you want - just tell them how much you would like. Slices are weighed for your final cost. They asked me if we wanted them heated up. I said yes. 🍕🥐🍕🍞🍕🍪 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We came here to have a sandwich. I do not know what it is called, but it is pork meat. The pork has a nice saltiness. It was much better than eating ham. Also, the food tour guy mentioned that the price is set by weight. I love their old-school style, casual, and simple vibe. I would highly recommend this place for a quick casual bite.

Welcome to the carb carnival. Next stop on our food tour, daring you to try just one more slice after your pants have already waved the white flag. This is no ordinary pizza place, it’s a forno, which is Italian for oven. Naturally, someone here looked at the bread, looked at the toppings, and said, Yes, this shall be pizza now. We kicked things off with the Margherita, the classy queen of pizzas, literally. Named after Queen before Italy decided to liberate itself, this was your classic tomato-mozzarella-basil situation. Red, Green and White like the Italian Flag. Regal. Nostalgic. Tastes like a monarchy that actually works. Then came the potato pizza, which, let me tell you, was a surprise carb ambush. Like, Oh cute, a slice of starch on starch. Bread with potatoes on it. For when your body is craving a food coma. And then came the Marinara, my personal Roman romance. No cheese, all attitude. Spicy, saucy, simple. Like that one ex who was too intense but kind of unforgettable. Let’s talk style: Roman pizza is not your floppy Neapolitan mess that folds into a pizza burrito the moment it hits your plate. No no, Roman pizza stands its ground. It’s a little thicker and definitely crunchier. You don’t need to roll it, cradle it, or whisper encouragement. It just is. And I love it more than I probably should. La Renella is where bread goes to find its higher purpose which is to be pizza.

I come here a couple of times a week, and it’s always amazing. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the pastries are great. The staff are super friendly and make the place feel welcoming every single time. You can tell they care about what they do — everything’s done with love and attention to detail. Easily one of the best spots, and best priced spots in Rome for a quick lunch or a treat!

We’ve been eating our way through Rome’s pizza… and this is the place we keep coming back to. The staff are friendly, the pizza delicious, and very reasonably priced at that. Lots of culinary tours seem to stop here, and it’s easy to see why.

We visited La Renella as part of a Trastevere food tour. This place was amazing! We tasted a small pork sandwich, which was like nothing we had ever tasted. The pork is slow-cooked and incredibly tender. They also had a huge variety of pizzas and they were super busy with patrons all order different items. This place is a great little gem and not be missed. It was fantastic!

They got some damn good pizza! I didn't even know the names and pointed at the slices, but I literally could've eaten anything since everything looked fire! The ingredients are fresh, the pizza is hot, and I love how light and crisp the crust is. They do sell by weight, but the price is very reasonable. And they have a decent selection of beer to enjoy with your pizza! Lots of pizza places in Rome, but this one is up there with the best!

The best pizza we had in Rome was found right in Trastevere. The crust was light and crispy and the toppings were excellent and fresh. You pay by weight here so I would suggest trying different pizzas of smaller portions. We always get the rosa pizza so we can really taste the pasta sauce and bread! The wait can be long and hectic but just be patient. The pizza is worth the wait!!

Fantastic lunch place. We had the Pizza Bianca w/ mortadella, was excellent, exactly what you would expect from a quality establishment. Freshly sliced mortadella upon ordering and very inexpensive. I would return daily if I could.

Excellent pizza by the slice (sold by weight). The Forno la Renella pizza with tomato with large dollops of ricotta is extraordinary. I liked every style of pizza that I sampled here, except the Squash Blossom with Anchovies pizza. I'm not a fan of anchovies. We tried a chain that also sells pizza by weight and there is really no comparison. The pizza from Forno La Renella has much better crust, better flavor balance, fresher ingredients. We were picking up pizza for a quiet night in our AirBnB in Trestavere, the quality pizza from Forno La Renella made it a memorable meal.

Stopped here while on a tour in Rome. Delicious! Highly recommend. Crunchy and tasty, and as our tour guide pointed out they still offer the endangered onion pizza.

Great selection of slices. Many vegetarian and vegan ones that are great. Lots of sausage, prosciutto, lox and other options for meat eaters. Even the plain tomato one is great. Just got carried away with broccoli rabe with sun dried tomatoes; plain; tomato sauce with mushroom; potato; zucchini; artichoke with prosciutto and cheese. Nice pleasant thin tasty crust. Taking some on the plane if there is anything left.

OMG - the best place to get Roman style pizza in Rome. OK for North Americans who may not know any better, the round pizza disks we know are inspired from Neapolitan-style pizza, from Naples. Roman style pizza is made in large rectangles and is cut with scissors. The crust is also usually super-thin and the toppings are heavy. You are charged by weight. The pizza selections here are the kind of stuff you'll never, ever see back in North America so I jumped on those varieties, specifically the one with zucchini flowers, anchovies and fresh melted buffalo mozzarella or the one with chickpeas. They also put potato slices on their some of their pizzas. Who cares? It's all good and the pizzas here were tasty and cheap. Everyone is eating here, local Romans, tourists, local workers, everybody. It's very casual and reminds me of the kinds of places back in Montreal where bike couriers would usually eat at. Service is friendly, prices are lower than McDonald's. They need to have Forno La Renella all over the world. I look forward to that day.

Sweet! If you're craving something sugary and need something to fill your sweet tooth, definitely check out the pastries they have in the front. They also had mini-pie/tarts that looked really good. I didn't get to try the pizza here since I already had dinner plans, but it was awesome to see them freshly making and baking it in the oven. It's a bit tricky to navigate Trastevere's little's streets and paths, but you should be able to spot a display of baked goods at the outside window.

They are a bakery and pizza shop but I didn't get to taste their bread as I was too full from the yummy pizzas and the Nutella croissant - they are very similar to Bonci minus the line - a must if you are in the neighborhood

YES. YES. YES. We just happened to pop in here for a snack while popping around Trastevere, but we found it was one of the most unique spots we went on our entire trip pizza-wise. We had this amazing red pizza with a bunch of herbs on it and it was our most talked about pizza through all of Italy. Also, their baked goods are nice. Super casual place full of locals coming in and out. If you've been to Rome, you know how hard it can be to find a genuine place to eat, but Forno La Renella is it. If you go, grab a crostatina. Holy smokes. So good. The people were so nice, too! Just the best.

Best pizza in Rome! It's all in the crust and the wood fired oven. We went on a food tour and this was one of the stops. Went back the next day and pigged out. You order by weight so you can have a sample size of everything or a whole one of your favorite. They make all kinds of different combinations, meat and vegetarian, so there is something for everyone's pallet.

After a long morning visiting the excellent Capitoline museum followed by a wander around the back streets of Trestavere, a panini and a large beer for 8 Euro "hit the spot". It's a little off the main drag but based on the volume of business even at 3pm it is worth making the effort for.

Best pizza I've had in Rome ! Just stumbled upon this place for a quick snack. Thin crust style pizza which they cut and price by the weight. This is one of my "go-to" place for "to-go" pizza! Service is quick and the pizza is good. You know the place is legit when you notice the cracked glass wall that looks into the kitchen. Stores with too much decoration and lighting = an overpriced tourist joint. If there are Italians, great. Old Italians? You're in the right place. Service depends on who you get. Depending timing and their mood, you could walk away with a dried husk or a delicious filo di pane (baguette) fresh from the oven. Prices can be a bit high depending on what you order, but it's overall a little above the "average" range. I try to come by here to have some quality pizza/bread, not the oily or greasy kind served in the roundabout "pizza a taglio" joints.

Friendly service and great selection for a quick bite. The Caprese Pizza is the boss! I've been twice this week and will likely make there once more before I leave Roma.

I love Yelp so much, especially when it sends me to wonderful eateries like this one! We were taking an audio tour of the Trastevere and so I checked reviews of restaurants around that area. Thankfully I saw this place with good reviews. We walked in and it was crowded, we waiting a little bit but when it was our turn we were helped by a friendly woman. We pointed to the pizza we wanted and she asked how big a slice then weighed it and heated it up for us. We ordered the sausage and potato pizza, potato pizza, and focaccia sandwich with salami. It seems like a lot of food but they were small pieces. The pizza was delicious! Just what I imagined italian pizza would be like. The bread is so delicious! I am disappointed that I found this place this far into our trip, I plan another visit for sure before we leave. We got a large slice which was cut into 4 pieces of the sausage and potato pizza, a medium slice that was cut into 2 pieces of the potato pizza, and two small salami sandwiches with two pieces of their fresh focaccia to go with a coke zero for 12 euro. If you are anywhere in Rome, take a trip to the Trastevere for some rich history as well as delicious pizza at Forno La Renella!

Was looking for a takeaway lunch to bring to the airport. This fit the bill perfectly!! The mushroom pizza was excellent and the prosciutto sandwich was only €3 and high quality! Perfect for a quick bite!

Very good place! Not expensive at all, very tasty, has a wide selection of pizzas with different toppings. There are also pastries and breads. Is located in the Jewish Quarter. Open from morning to evening.Locals recommended the place to us, so do we!

I love the feel of this place. Definitely come here if you are looking for an authentic Italian experience. Very little English is spoken and my friend and I were the only non-Italians. The only reason I gave it two stars is because, in comparison to other pizza places in Rome, the pizza here is mediocre. I like that some of the pizzas are on their delicious breads, but they still aren't anything special. If you do stop by, the best pizza is the sausage and potato pizza. Keep in mind that it's a bit hard to find. The entry is a small, hard to spot, door with a single sign on the wall outside.

this place is DANKKKKK!! I would always hit up this place. If you got lucky you would come with no line and you could get the 2 euro round pizza. Make sure you complete your order with a Fanta. Nothing beats a European Fanta.

Excellent pizza, best I have had so far in Rome! Lots of variety of flavors, which made it hard to pick so I got 4 different slices. Definitely will recommend to friends who come to visit Rome in the future.

It's one of the best bakery to get fresh right-out-of-the-oven bread in Trastevere and they make pizza too. They don't sell pizza by pre-cut slice here, they sell them by kg. Just tell them the size of slice you want and they just cut the pizza and put the slice on the scale. Love their varieties here. Their pizza bianca, potato pizza and zucchini flower pizza are genuine and delicious. I can't say they have the best pizza in Rome but it's a perfect place to have quick meal or get bread to go. It's always a good sign seeing kitchen staffs from the neighborhood restaurants popping in to get fresh loaves by dozens during the early evening hours.

Best Pizza with patate in Rome and the bread is just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Highly recommended to all pizza lovers like me and my family:) Hope you will enjoy!

Everything here is delicious. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and very affordable. I have yet to try their pizza but it looks amazing. The customer service is outstanding as well, twice now I've gone in asking to try a small cookie and they've given both to me for free. The ricotta and chocolate bars are very good, almost like a cheesecake bar but better. Such sweet people and great food!

We have been in Italy for two weeks and have made a stop here each day! It is one of our favorite places for pizza and bread! Be sure to have small bills and coins. We learned this after several trips!
