La Renommée

An absolutely outstanding experience at La Renommée from start to finish. Everything about this place lives up to its reputation and then some. The beef au poivre was quite simply unbelievable — perfectly cooked, deeply flavourful, and executed with real confidence. One of the best versions I’ve had anywhere. The cocktails were equally impressive: well-balanced, creative, and clearly made by people who know exactly what they’re doing. A special mention has to go to the desserts, which were exceptional. Not just an afterthought, but genuinely memorable and on par with the main courses — rich, elegant, and beautifully presented. Service throughout was warm, professional, and effortless, creating that rare feeling where everything just flows exactly as it should. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between refined and relaxed, making it ideal for both a special occasion or a standout dinner in Paris. Having dined at many top restaurants, I can confidently say La Renommée deserves its place among the best. We’ll absolutely be back.

Why this restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star is beyond me. It absolutely amazing in every aspect. The moment we walked in, we were greeted so kindly by the staff. They took our coats and welcomed us. We ordered the bone marrow and escargot to start with. Worth every bite! Not to mention our steak for two with mashed potatoes.. holly goodness. That was by far one of the best meals ever! Our server was always watching over us to make sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our food. Truly made my birthday extra special! 100% Recommend! Book that reservation.

By far the best meal experience I've had to date. From the door staff as you walk in to the incredible atmosphere in the restaurant. The food is legit out of this world full of flavour. Best steak I've eaten in my life. Well worth every $. Wine pairing was perfection. Make sure you make a reservation next level hard to get in but I'd go again in a heart beat. Thanks for making my Paris trip!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect perfect evening We had the most amazing late dinner at La Renommée this week. Starting with the drinks the wine list is impressive and we really enjoyed the bottle selected by the sommelier as well as some Aperitifs before our meal. The food was delicious, the portions possibly too big but we can’t complain as we all enjoyed the rest the following day and it was almost as delicious. We tried the NY strip steak, the lobster pasta, and the half chicken and truly all were divine. The standout dish as agreed by all three of us was the steak tartare which was the BEST we have ever had and I will dream about it until I am next in Paris. Dessert was also fantastic but we were pretty full at this point. The atmosphere was a highlight - the dining room is gorgeous and you really feel that it is a special occasion with the dark wood, 1920s art deco furniture and lighting. Service was also warm and attentive throughout. Already planning our next visit - can’t recommend enough!

An 1820s back to the future dining. La Renommée tries to fuse classic French cuisine (escargots, sole meunière, traditional French mains) with a bit of “New-York / American-hospitality” flair. Child friendly as well. As a tourist- One of the best meals during our stay in france. They say its pricey- but id say its all worth it. Will definitely visit this place again.

We walked in at 5:30 pm without a reservation and were seated immediately at the downstairs bar. The filet au poivre was the best we’ve ever had. Dessert was incredible too—both the crème caramel and the pistachio ice cream were outstanding (also the best we’ve had). p.s. you *have to* get the pistachio ice cream!!! (It’s from Berthillon) Dinner at La Renommée was a highlight of our trip, and we’re very grateful for our waiter’s warm, attentive service.

Great service and ambience. Some dishes were really great, others were alright. They did ask for tip at the end of the meal which we felt was odd and left a bad taste For starters: Escargot - 4/5, great size but could use more flavor Foie gras- 5/5, the best we had in our trip! Would go back for this Mains: Steak Au poivre - 4.5/5, solid steak that was tender and flavorful Rabbit pasta - 3/5, a little heavy and tasted more similar to a carbonara. There was a stronger bacon/pork flavor that overpowered the rabbit Dessert Chocolate mousse - 4.5/5, I really loved this but my partner felt it had a little too much salt. Pistachio merengue thing - 4/5, the strawberry paired well with the pistachio ice cream and merengue

It was our first time visiting La Renommée. We didn’t have a reservation, but luckily we were able to get a table in the downstairs lounge. The atmosphere was fantastic, with vintage-inspired interiors that set a great vibe. Although the menu was a bit limited at the lounge area, we were happy to find the steak and rabbit pasta available. The steak, in particular, was outstanding, classic yet elevated. The whiskey-based cocktails were also excellent. Overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed every bite.
