La Réserve de Beaulieu (Beaulieu-sur-Mer, French Riviera / Provence) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Between Nice and Monaco is the seaside town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, a classic French Riviera destination that’s home to one of the region’s finest small hotels. La Réserve de Beaulieu began in 1880 as a seafood-focused restaurant; in 1905 it added its first guest rooms, and a hospitality legend was born. Today this Florentine-style villa is remarkable for its well-preserved Belle Époque character — and for how relevant the spirit of 1905 still is for 21st-century luxury-hotel guests. With just 39 rooms and suites it’s able to remain intimate, personal, and even somewhat residential in aspect. And while the style of the interiors might look familiar to travelers from a century ago, it looks as fresh as can be — and admits of some essential modern elements, like modern marble-clad bathrooms and high-tech in-room comforts. The most desirable rooms have impressive direct views of the Mediterranean, some from private terraces or balconies. Among the wellness offerings are a heated swimming pool, a spa by La Prairie, and the Grand Salon, a lounge reserved for relaxation. More lively social spaces include the swanky Gordon Bennett Bar, the bistro-style Table de la Réserve, and the Restaurant des Rois, with its panoramic view of the Mediterranean (and its MICHELIN Star)." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is charming, immaculate and the breakfast is excellent. However, many of the rooms do not have adequate air conditioning. We were there during a heat wave, but a hotel of this caliber and price should have rooms that can be cooled down even if it is hot outside (after all, it is not uncommon for heatwaves to pop up in August in South of France). We had multiple rooms and my own room was nice and fresh and cool (so it clearly can be done), but most of the others were uncomfortably hot. My (adult) children had trouble sleeping and came to our room to dress for dinner and for formal events we were attending becaue of the heat in their own rooms. At this price, this is ridiculous. ||We communicated with hotel and at first were told it would be fixed, then when the problem persisted, we were told it was a heat wave and nothing they could do. We received a small (not enough) discount for our trouble but after that, upon reflection, I was still very upset that this basic level of service was not met and that I spent so much money at this property. All the other properties I stayed at on that trip had working AC, as did my own room and surely it is not unreasonable to want this. ||I tried to speak with GM who did not respond to multiple emails nor did she call me as requested. Eventually she emailed and her explanation was that the air coming out of vents was cold (ok but they they need more vents to cool the room because the room was hot and I dispute this fact anyway - we did not feel much cold air coming into the room anywhere). GM said they offered to move our rooms to colder rooms (this implies that some rooms are colder than others and that we had hot rooms - so are they admitting our rooms were hot or not?). Unfortunately, the move offer was as we were leaving for a black tie wedding at 7pm and not returning until 2am and departing next morn. Too little too late. I am shocked at the GM's attitude and unwillingness to compensate for a basic problem.||Pro tip: this hotel is NOT same organization as the fabulous La Reserve in Paris.

Fantastic hotel. We stayed in one of the suites, and it was large, with a nice fit out and comfortable beds. The service was excellent, everything arrived to the room within minutes and the staff were always friendly and willing to help. The pool area is beautiful, right by the sea, and never too crowded. Really loved our stay here and would be back!

I have stayed at this hotel for several years and found it to be exceptional on all levels. Today I was having lunch in le Vent Debut the poolside restaurant. It was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented ,Guillaume the Director of the restaurant is delightful and his well presented and attentive staff were a delight too. The reception staff are welcoming kind and helpful too. I have no hesitation in recommending for any occasion. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This hotel is exquisite in many ways. Ideal in size, never noisy. The staff are everywhere and almost glide effortlessly anticipating every need you might have. The decor is very elegant, modern, with a few antique pieces placed around the hotel. Our room was a lovely size, on the first floor looking into the courtyard and at the sea. Bathroom had a proper shower. There is a lovely sea water pool to spend the day around, recuperating and reading - lunch is top notch. One evening we went to their restaurant - which deserves a different review but suffice it to say was excellent. The only thing we found disappointing was the gym - which is too small and in the basement, so pretty claustrophobic. Otherwise - magnifique!

I booked 2 days at the spa and chose their most expensive two-hour facial, priced at €550. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. As an owner of a salon myself, I can confidently say the therapist was completely unprofessional and not properly trained. Her hands and techniques were not suitable for a professional facial, and she lacked basic knowledge about facial treatments. The session was uncomfortable to sit through, and the only focus seemed to be on selling me additional products rather than providing quality service. For such a high-end hotel spa, this level of service is unacceptable. It was the worst facial experience I’ve ever had, and it does not reflect the standards one expects from a luxury establishment. If you are looking for a proper facial treatment, I cannot recommend this spa at all.

Le Vent Debout at La Reserve is one of my absolute top places in the world to visit. The view is stunning, the service outstanding the food is out of this world. We had a wonderful lunch by the pool, which was lovely and cool, the staff could not have been more friendly and, although simple, the lunch was sensational.

Exquisite stay. This is what a top hotel is supposed to be. From the welcoming and genuinely friendly and attentive service, a well appointed room, Michael doing a terrific job managing around the beautiful seaside pool, Alex at the bar, and a magical evening at their Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant, on the terrace as the sun goes down....simply fantastic. Had always wanted to stay here having passed it many times on the road above to Monaco. Will certainly return.

This was the best breakfast we had in the South of France! We were so impressed by the views and the delicious food. Peaceful and quiet atmosphere, with super friendly staff — especially Fred, who was incredibly kind and gave us great tips on what to see and where to go in the area. We’ll definitely be coming back! Keep up the great work — the level of service was truly outstanding!
