"“Montpellier the Gifted”, as the city likes to bill itself, provides the backdrop to this well-hidden restaurant on the banks of the Lez. Slightly off the beaten track, it boasts a divine riverside terrace shaded by plane trees – a refreshing haven in hot summers. This modern and sophisticated Reserve is located in an old country house, an Ali Baba’s cavern of gourmet delights, unearthed from the little-known repertory of Languedoc-Roussillon. Former second of Alain Dutournier at the Carré des Feuillants, Charles Fontès signs intelligent compositions that revolves around the ingredient. Subtle plays of textures and flavours with an overriding goal of authentic simplicity. Seabream, squid and red mullet, Camargues eels and Lucques olives feature among the appetisers – Occitania on the table!" - Michelin Inspector

There is nothing I’d change about our experience here; it was absolutely perfect. The view from the table was picturesque and so serene. We had the 4 course tasting menu (and added the cheese course) at lunch time. Service was great, attentive but not rushed. Starting off with the best olive oil ive ever tasted in my life, then a series of amuses. Then 5 delicious and interesting courses of seasonal items and incredible sauces. Such a pleasure. I’d recommend anyone go here.

We were very excited to visit this restaurant during our stay in Montpellier. We booked a table for lunch. Good deal, €49 for three courses. We were welcomed by a staff member at the front desk and taken to the table outside with beautiful views. Unfortunately as none of us speak French, communication seemed lacking including communication between waiters as we have 4 different waiters serving us. No explanation of any dishes, not a single time some came to check . I was hoping it's because of the lack of knowledge of the English language but based on previous reviews, it is a common occurrence. Food was good, however nothing memorable. We placed an order for all three courses at the beginning yet my partner got a cold cheese as a dessert straight from the fridge. After lack of any attention from the staff during the meal, once we finished we couldn't see any to ask for a bill. When trying to pay you had to go to the main desk. There are some basic that customers require from a Michelin star restaurant and this one seems to not have it. There was a maintenance person walking around the restaurant measuring things , storage room door wide open in the bathrooms. Nobody needs to see the mess of the back rooms. We previously visited one star restaurant in Beziers and it feels like a night and day experience.

Lovely restaurant, food was excellent. Front of house staff need more training in how to be welcoming, failing to smile, ever, is not a quality. Chef knows his business. Food is very worthy of their star. On the edge of getting a second one perhaps?

We had 6 course dinner option with matching wine. The focus of the dinner was definitely seafood: light but very inventive dishes, balanced, never over the top. Great bread, by the way, very tasty. The wine selection was superb: quite unique wines, with interesting grape combinations, not your typical ‘classic’ selection of well known staples. The service was excellent: precise, no fuss, with proper attention, again, well balanced. Great outdoor seating with view on the water and woods, very nice place to relax.

Everything was more than excellent! I loved the vibe, it was very clean and calming. The staff were very professional, polite, explained everything about the food in great detail. And the food itself was extremely delicious. I took the 4 course set menu, which was kept a secret of what the dishes are. But, I was very pleased with everything, all dishes were delicious and I highly recommend the visit to the restaurant. Top place to enjoy a tasty and fancy dinner!

Amazing food and excellent service. The sommelier did a fantastic job recommending some awesome wines to go with our degustation. If you want the degustation menu but have food allergies, you can tell them and they’ll adjust accordingly. The gluten-free bread is amazing. Mine was freshly baked. Will definitely return.

Well deserved Michelin star especially when menu was a surprise a thrilling experience👏🏽👏🏽 They have taken into consideration our special requests. Furthermore, the outdoor view is breathtaking clear vision of sunset by the river. Would love to have an afternoon tea there.
