Google
Awesome spot where they have game experts who recommend game options then teach you how to play. Plus the service is fantastic! Great beer and snack selection

My wife and teenage kids are here in Québec City on vacation from New Jersey. We were looking for a place to grab dessert and found this place. We like to play board games, so we gave it a shot. I was concerned we wouldn't be able to play any because we cannot speak French (unfortunately). But, a friendly and knowledgeable staff member asked us the sort of games we play and recommend three in English, taught us the rules, and we dove right in. The desserts were all excellent. This was a different experience for us. There are few opportunities to play board games in restaurants/bars/cafes outside of scheduled meetups and dedicated game stores. I'm glad we went and it was a nice and unexpected find.

Had dinner here during Carnaval, definitely worth the visit! Even though we only spoke English, they were so accommodating and helpful at explaining the games. They have tons of games, and made some fantastic recommendations for games we've never heard of. Food and drinks were also great, 100% worth a visit.

Great place. Fun atmosphere, nice that kids can be there too. One MINOR point, I felt the rules explanations by the game staff were slightly too rushed, but I appreciate that the place was pretty busy. Also French is my second language, so not their fault if I need a slower explanation.

Fun board game cafe. We came during off-hours and there was only one employee. Despite that, he took great care of us and made good recommendations from the menu. He wasn't super knowledgeable about the games, but I was told the game experts are only there during the busier times. Regardless, they had an excellent selection and we stayed for a few hours and enjoyed ourselves.

My friends and I went there and it was great. Don't worry if you still can't speak french, all the staff can help you in english and they can explain the game in english too. Basically, once you are on the table, you can order drinks or food and then the game master will come to your table to ask what games you prefer or they can give you recommendation. Then they will exolain to you about the game's rule. The atmosphere was pretty nice. I'll go there again for sure.

Google
Open late and was near our accommodation which made it convenient! Service was a bit slow once we got seated but they were really nice despite a bit of a language barrier. The food was okay but the drinks were really good. It costs $8 to play games, the game masters were really well versed and super helpful when recommending games for groups! Great late night hangout for friends and was super busy too on a weeknight!

Google
We enjoyed a healthy fast-casual dinner at this gaming cafe on our first night in QC. Our game guide suggested the best game for our group and we played it for several rounds, while enjoying an eclectic menu and perfect cocktails. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Pros: Super nice, friendly staff Vast selection of games available for purchase upstairs seating Cons: They have a cover charge, but they can be flexible if you are only coming to eat/drink Food was ok, but nothing amazing - we got nachos and a vege pizza (more like a flatbread) Pro tip: If you want to play games, socialize with your pals, and grab a drink, this is the place to go. The space is large and well lit.

Yelp
What a concept. Food+drinks+games. You pay a fee about $9 per person to play unlimited games. The game master will come to your table and ask you what type of games do you like to play. They then pick 3 games for you and explain each one. You choose one to start and they help set it up for you. The majority of the games are in French. They will explain everything to you. Food was very good. We went with the poutine and nachos with chorizo. I highly recommend stopping in.

Yelp
It's a game bar and looked like a lot of fun for gamers. We were there for food and drink which were both good. The pizza was delicious and my beer and Grace's cocktail hit the spot.

Yelp
Grub, games and good times. A classic game bar! Many card and board game choices! I also saw some stacking of blocks and balancing of wires games, which I don't exactly know how to classify. There is definitely a game here for every person or group, the staff can help you pick based on your interests and desire for competition. Make a reservation ahead of time if possible! I met some friends there and lucky they made a reservation, as the place was crowded and I'm not sure they would have been able to fit our table of 5 without one. I had a Moscow Mule and it was refreshing! I do wish we would have been served more water throughout our night and were asked a bit more frequently if we wanted to order more drinks. Thin fries in a poutine made me feel like I was eating a McDonald's poutine. I don't think I'm a fan of the thin fries because they get soggy quickly from surface to core. The sauce/gravy was fine. I loved the large chunks of squeaky cheese, those curds put a smile on my face. My total was just under $30 for a cocktail, poutine and game fee. It was a sweet experience overall and I'll likely head back soon if COVID-19 doesn't keep me from wanting to hang in crowded places! I'd definitely recommend this location to friends and family who want to have a more dynamic night than they might at a classic bar. Although the food wasn't life-changing I gave 5 stars as it happily hit the mark for overall experience at a game bar.

Yelp
La Revanche is a fantastic place. I came here with a group of friends from the States on a Monday night (yes, they are open on Mondays, contrary to current hours listed as I write this review - I submitted an update). With hundreds of games and good food, this is a place at which I could spend a lot of time. But I'm not sure whether to thank the friend who suggested we come here or slap him upside, because he suggested we attend on Monday evening at 7pm when they run their L'Exam Finale trivia... um, you realize they do this in French, right? But he had just taken a refresher course, and I had been practicing mine, so we thought we could make an enjoyable attempt. Plus, he contacted them in advance saying that we "crazy Americans" would be attending, and they said they could help us with translation if we wanted. So we attended. I enjoyed the food and drink, sampling a local red ale and their chile a la viande, meaty yet also with vegetables for texture, accompanied by enough tortilla chips on which to snack or dip. The pizzas are delicious too. So when the trivia began, the first section for the evening - visual - was ... pictures of US Presidents... WHAT!??!?! Did they do this as a teaser for us? Fortunately, we did get them all right so as to not embarrass ourselves. Part 2, questions, was tougher. We got 25% of them without help, and another 25% with help. The final round was music, for which only a few of the videos were by Canadian artists. But yes, you do need to be VERY fluent in French to participate. Also, many of the boardgames are the French editions (but many are not). This is a popular event, and so many regular teams participate each week that they post weekly standings before and after each trivia night. This was a really satisfying experience both mentally and gustatorially.

Yelp
Knowledgeable staff, an almost endless supply of board games and drinks & food. I hereby declare the board game cafe the future! I say the future, but when I was a student almost 20 years ago we used to visit a pub with board games regularly. Anyway back to the point... It was a decent wee joint with all kinds of games. The staff acted like board game sommeliers sizing up our tastes and preferences before recommending the Waddingtons 84 (insert your own game manufacturer and year for comic effect). There is a $5 dollar per head cover charge, but once your in your laughing. The food is pretty basic snacking stuff, but it's alright for a night of gaming.

Yelp
What a fun time! There was a trivia night going on when my friend and I went but I got a great vibe off the place. The cocktails where not particularly creative but very tasty. I had what would only be described as a Canadian roy rogers. Sweet and yummy with a maraschino cherry but with a specific ingredient I couldn't identify. We got some chicken fingers that seemed a little pricey for the quality. I honestly wish I could give this place five stars, but nothing on the menu really stood out to me. However, I very much enjoyed the games. The game master who came around was so kind and explanatory I really loved her suggestions. Can't wait to come back but I'll probably grab dinner elsewhere first.

Yelp
Love that the poutine came as her bed wedges instead of regular fries! Pulled pork was good.

Yelp
Awesome idea. They give you a game when you arrive. Dice, board games, cards, etc. The drinks are not that great the food is definitely pub. Like pizza, nacho, fries . We had a pizza it was good. Service was helpful and friendly

Yelp
Brilliant idea that I really want to steal and start up in my town. I think I may make a pilgrimage once or twice a year with all my gamer friends. Didn't try the food, though.
