The Latest Philly Bar and Restaurant Openings to Know | Eater Philly

"I found La Roca serving Mexican street food at 4161 Main Street in the former Union Taco location; the bi-level restaurant — run by Kahlil Mir (of Paper Street Pub and Hilltown Tavern) and Josh Coffman (who held several positions in Stephen Starr’s restaurant group and was GM at Rouge) with chef David Long — has bars on both floors plus an outdoor patio and tends to turn into more of a dance club after 10 p.m." - Rachel Vigoda

Google
I went there during their happy hour. I got their egg roll and gringo taco. To say it nicely it was the most basic taco I ever had even though it looked really nice. The egg roll tasted better than the tacco. Only good thing was service better than the food itself but then again they included 20% tip even it was just me (single person service) not even a group. I do not recommend this place for food even for happy hour.

Google
Serena was a delight as our server! Food was excellent and the atmosphere on the upstairs patio is wonderful. The nachos were extremely refreshing with tons of flavor and ample portion size. Chicken Crunchwrap needs the sauce, but together they are amazing.

Derek B.

Google
I have been coming here for years. Never had a bad experience until 09/19. I was at the bar for a little while. I ordered a bite and some drinks then ordered a Crunchwrap to go. BIG MISTAKE. I was given my order and opened it before I left. All looked well until I got the food home. The cook completely burned the other side and of course this was not the side presented when opening the box. I really can't believe they served this BS knowing it was burnt. Nobody likes wasting money. Unacceptable.

Google
This place was introduced to me by a good friend of mine and we have been here about three times since. I absolutely love this place!!! The drinks are amazing, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is so relaxing and cozy. The staff are top notch, I would highly recommend this place.

Google
I went and ate at this establishment Saturday. I had the most wonderful server, and the food was top notch. People in Manayunk complain about everything, there is absolutely nothing about the service here that deserves less than 5 stars. I hope my waitress, Riley, knows she made our night so much better. Best place for dates, parties, and margs! Thanks for having us! Will definitely be back for more good times!

Sherrita R.

Google
The gringo tacos were delicious, the watermelon margarita was great. The empanadas were okay. They could have been seasoned more. Overall the waitress was nice, the service was fast, and we didn't have to wait very long for food and drinks. We sat upstairs on the rooftop patio which was really nice. I would go back again

Google
riley and lindsey were so nice when i walked in, the energy was there! i know both of them already as college friends but in that atmosphere they were really making the place pop. highly recommend going here with friends or even by yourself, you’ll always have people to talk to in there to match your energy. the food’s outstanding too!

Madiha M.

Google
This was a huge disappointment. The prices listed online were lower than what we were charged in the restaurant, which is misleading and the manager declined to honor the website prices. The queso came out with a film on top and tasted more like hot cheese whiz than real queso. None of our tacos were made correctly, and when we asked about it, the staff didn’t seem to know what went wrong. We also never received silverware until we asked, and our server didn’t seem familiar with the menu. Service was also super slow even though the place was empty. Totally unorganized and horrible experience. Will not come back.

Yelp
If you're looking for a spot where you can eat and drink like a king without breaking the bank, La Roca's Tuesday Happy Hour is the place to be. With $2 tacos, $2 shots of tequila, and Tecate, along with music playing makes this one of those deals that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. I went for their Gringo tacos, which were simple but hit all the right spots. They were exactly what you want when you're chasing tequila with bites of comfort food. I also split an order of chicken empanadas, and they were a surprise highlight.
google avatar

Gina F.

Yelp
This spot is pretty okay. I've been a few times and didn't have any issues. Music is usually a vibe and the servers are pretty nice. They have happy hour Monday-Friday along with other meal & drink discounts ($2 tequila shots on Tuesdays). Margaritas are pretty good. Food is decent always come out hot. I will say the birria tacos weren't as good as expected. Empanadas were delicious . 20% automatic gratuity is added to check.
google avatar

Dara R.

Yelp
The vibe is fun. It's well decorated and I like that the front windows open up to the street with a bit of outside seating. The staff is all over the place, nice, but not focused. I ordered black beans as my side but got rice and refried, and my boyfriend asked for corn tortillas but got flour. Not really a big deal but our waitress even came back after we ordered to clarify and it was still wrong. Food is alright, I'd probably stick with tacos and drinks moving forward.
google avatar

Yelp
While coming to this taco place I really liked the salsa - queso dip is the usual like every where else - I sat down stairs with the bartender - then went up stairs - was with a group - options are nice

Michael M.

Yelp
Went to grab a drink at 8:30 at night on a FRIDAY. Was told I couldn't order a drink unless I got food because they were closing early -- okay thats find but mind you they were not closing for another 2.5 hours. Trash establishment, trash managers, trash place. Save your time and money, go elsewhere.
google avatar

Rasheda ..

Yelp
I did not plan on going here to get food, but most locations in this area were closing early. Well, we arrived inside the bartender took our order for our drink. Everyone got their drink without a problem. The drinks were delicious kinda strong, but that was OK. We had margaritas. They offer various of flavors so it was able to accommodate everyone. We gave our food order to the bartender unfortunately half of our party was only able to receive food because the cook had, put too much oil in the deep fryer and flooded the kitchen with oil and there was oil all over the floor so no one else was able to get any food. We sat there for about another hour having a drink towards the end of our when we got the bill, the bartender told us that the fryer was back up if we wanted to order something. The bartender was not really friendly. I'm not sure. Maybe he was tired or overwhelmed because he was working alone. Even the orders that he was able to take and fulfill were brought out incorrectly. This spot had an upper level with a dining area. Music and TV for enjoyment. Gratuity is added to your bill, no matter the size of theParty.

Benjamin M.

Yelp
The atmosphere is kind of cool until you get in there and it smells like weed. The College kid behind the bar was absent and had to ask for everything twice. Answered everything with a yes or no, On top of that, he managed to sneak in on an Auto gratuity of 20%. My $21 tacos turned into a $27 meal. What a complete rip off. Will not be back. Service was shit Food was OK not great Ambience smelled like weed The overall bar tables and menus were oily and filthy

Denise F.

Yelp
5 starts for Ara, 1 star for owner! Ara is a great bartender. great service. it sucks that the owner Stephen yells and curses at his employees. His business will NOT survive.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
Having been here a few times now, I doubt I would go back, unless it was strictly for drinks. Their rooftop is a nice vibe in the summertime; however, the couch cushions are long overdue for replacement. Two things that I think are outrageous: 1. I went on a Monday and burritos are $10 on Monday. The special menu doesn't say anything about which kind. I ordered the first burrito on the list which was the Carne Asada and when I got my bill, they said that burrito isn't included in the special. 2. We ordered chips and salsa ($5), and it was a regular, plain red salsa. We asked for another bowl of salsa and they charge us another five dollars. They didn't bring out another order of chips either. I didn't have the energy to argue at this point, but it's definitely a ripoff.
google avatar

Morgan F.

Yelp
We came here after we found out there was an hour wait at tacqueria amor. Service was excellent but everything else was subpar. We got chips and queso and I've literally never had more stale, greasy chips in my life. Shrimp tacos were all over the place with flavors - not in a good way. I wanted to love the ambience but it just felt old and dirty.
google avatar

Lolita M.

Yelp
Service was great. Server was very sweet and accommodating. Food left much to be desired. Great crowd draw with $1 mimosa specials. The veggie tacos were great. The chicken tacos and rice and beans not so much. It's a great snap-able and IG friendly venue. Drinks and photos for groups and dates - cool. Music needs a little work. Don't bother using the check-in perk because apparently "they don't know how they partnered with Yelp" and will not honor it nor will they make an attempt. But for a meet up and some drinks. I'd considered it. If there is a DJ!

gary m.

Yelp
We went for ONE (1) drink. Asked for the bill and was shown a $20 included tip on a $20 tab. I thought it was suggestion like like most places have but this was included and part of the bill. I looked at the bar tender and asked what he did to deserve an early Christmas present and he sheepishly said it is part of the bill and I have to pay. DO NOT FORCE CUSTOMERS TO PAY A TIP OR GRATUITY. Obviously never returning.

Yelp
We tried this place for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The atmosphere was great. Seems light and fun. The staff were friendly and attentive. I good was just ok but the margaritas were good. I will say the chicken empanadas were pretty bomb but otherwise my friend both agree the tacos were just ok. I got the fish tacos and would say they definitely needed flavor. My friend got the shrimp tacos and said they'd be better with less cabbage. For now 3/5 stars but I'd definitely give them another try!
google avatar

Javier B.

Yelp
Wish I read the reviews. Staff seems straight up incompetent. Only three customers in the place and the guy behind the counter sent me to the bar to place my takeout order. The bartender, also the manager, complaining about having to work. She was making cocktails for others. Took a while to get to me then when I told her I wanted to order takeout she sent me back to the original guy. I order a drink at a bar half a block down because why would I order with her? Once I came back they handed me a sideways plastic bag of my food. I clearly made a face because the guy that handed it to me yelled, "you can check the food if you want!" while I was on my way out. Duh fool. I'm gonna have to check this food now. This was the kinda place with the white people in the front and people of color in the back. I like Tex-Mex; I'd say it's on par with Taco Bell but not nearly as good. Just eat somewhere else.
google avatar

Janice M.

Yelp
Just ok nothing great Guacamole was bland. Food portions were decent. Just OK nothing spectacular. Place could use a paint job could be cleaner looking.Credit card machine wouldn't work. Thank God I had cash. Nothing to write home about!
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
This might be an ok place to drink. The food is terrible. Our tacos all had dry and overcooked meat (al pastor, chicken, mahi mahi). The fish was off and we were unable to finish it. All were unseasoned and bizarrely bland. Basically a monument to negligence. I promise the cook tasted nothing before sending it out. Worse was the manager, who ignored our request to have the spoiled fish tacos taken off the bill. We left a full tip because the waiter was nice enough, but will never be back. Good luck staying in business with that crew.

mary w.

Yelp
Mango margaritas were refreshing! Zoey was careful to check so she could advise us about Gluten Free options. Great way to end our day in Philadelphia. We will be back.

Matt L.

Yelp
Unbeatable tacos. Decent service, often empty but not sure why. Good drinks and great prices. Outdoor area is cute.
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
Went here on a sunny Saturday afternoon for the rooftop view (and lack of other options on Main Street due to the crowded weekend bustle) and was very impressed with the indoor aesthetic and the margs!! I got a mezcal+jalapeño margarita... to DIE for. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par.. steak fajita's meat was so chewy I couldn't cut it with a knife (perhaps over cooked?) OR my teeth, and the flavors were quite bland for Mexican. Served on a cafeteria lunch platter, also not very appealing or appetizing. Furthermore, we were surrounded by loud, drunk 20-some-year olds by 4pm, so be wary it's prooobably not the best family-friendly place on a Saturday.
google avatar

Kaliah B.

Yelp
We were able to sit down immediately which is always a plus. Once seated our waitress came over. We asked a few questions and she wasn't sure about some of the things we asked. The restaurant was freezing-everyone had their coats on because it was so cold, which in fact made the food cold quickly. We ordered chicken and shrimp tacos along with margaritas. The drinks were good and had the right amount of alcohol in them. We also ordered nachos which were good. Prior to ordering the shrimp tacos there were two different prices for them. I asked the waitress how many tacos do you get for the $13 and she said two or three-she wasn't sure. I got three and once the bill came I was charged $16. I informed the waitress that I asked her about the $13 price not $16. She apologized but it was a little frustrating because I specifically asked about the $13 amount.

Yelp
I wish I could give them 0 zero stars!!! What a horrible experience!!!! I ordered the "Chicken Empanadas" please look at those 3 little cubes of chicken, this place is a WASTE of TIME and MONEY!!! La Roca - Manayunk Should shut down if they are experiencing food shortage. I literally paid to waste my time. I raised the issue with the General Manager and he told me his never had complaints, and offered to give us free shots of alcohol I want food not free alcohol, it's funny how he refused to address the main issues.

Dj D.

Yelp
by far the worst service I ever experienced. 45 min wait for food. waiter brought my sisters food out without utensils. he forgot my food entirely. she was done eating and we asked for the check before he even realized I never got my food. the pitchers of margaritas are $25 on Fridays that's the only plus. Would not recommend unless you just want margaritas
google avatar

Fernando C.

Yelp
Been to this place a few times now and have not had a bad experience yet. Really solid local spot serving quick and easy Mexican food for good prices. Really good cocktails and drink specials too. Bang for buck wise this place is top Manayunk tier. My wife and I ate well and had good drinks utilizing taco tuesday specials for 50 bucks. Can't really beat that. I consider myself a margarita aficionado and this house marg was sweet and tasty. I recommend giving this place a try. It's not the highest on fanciness but I don't think that's what they're going for. 4 stars!
google avatar

Kalani G.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the hype. This place pulls you in with its decor, promise of cute rooftop seating and vegetarian friendly menu. It doesn't deliver. We wanted to sit on the deck. Guess what? They weren't seating on the deck. My gf wanted the soyrizo nachos. Surprise surprise , they didn't have soyrizo. Our waitress was so apathetic it was ridiculous. She looked and acted as if she wanted to be anywhere but at work. Our food was sad. My gf's nachos were barely covered with toppings, my chicken tacos had chicken and barely anything else. The drinks were small and overpriced. Two of the four TVs over the bar were literally playing promos for the restaurant. Manayunk is full of great places to eat. Skip La Roca. Ps. We were sick later that night.

Yelp
The servers and bartenders are NOT professional at ALL! I went here with my friends for a drink. We were told they were SOOO busy and that it would take over an hour for food. There was NO ONE in the restaurant and the kitchen staff was just hanging out. Good thing we just came for a drink! We ordered 5 drinks, and after 45 minutes of waiting I went up to the bar and asked if the bartender began preparing our drinks. If they didn't we would just cancel our drink so we could get on with our night. The bartender rudely said "honey we are EXTREMELY busy as you can see.. you need to be patient. I made 1 of your drinks and am working on the other now." We waited 15 more minutes for our drinks. The drinks were average. The WORST PART IS THAT THEY PUT ON A 20 PERCENT GRATUITY regardless of your total, your party number .... So these employees can provide mediocre service because at the end of the day they know they are getting their tip.

Eliza R.

Yelp
nate is the best bartender ever!! he talked to us for so long and made amazing drinks!
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
Solid al fresco dining. Large order of nachos are suffice to to split between a couple. Best part of the melted cheese sauce on them. Wings were above average. Large in size and full of sweet chili flavor.
google avatar

Christopher P.

Yelp
Decided to come here one day after work. I wasn't disappointed at all! The chicken tacos are a go to if you want a filling taco. The steak tacos are very good too. The passion fruit and guava flavored margs were amazing (I just wish the passionfruit didn't have pulp in It). The dry wings were ok they could use a tad bit more salt to flavor the batter.
google avatar

Shane J.

Yelp
This is a cool little place to check out on Main Street. It occupies where Union Taco was located. I decided to check them out on a nice sunny day during Happy Hour. The Happy Hour special for tacos are they are $2 each and you must buy two of them. I got the chicken and beef tacos and they were both fresh and tasty. The Margaritas and Sangrias are $5 each - I had the Margarita - a little sweet - but good! The staff were friendly and attentive. I liked the decor of the place and the patrons that were coming through were cool too. I was informed that I should come back when they have live music - I have to definitely check that out!
google avatar

Nataly N.

Yelp
I'm surprised the overall reviews for this place aren't higher, as I had a great experience here with a group of friends. From our margarita pitcher to the complimentary chips and salsa to our taco entrées, everything was flavorful and well-executed. (Much better than the food quality of its predecessor Union Tacos.) The owner even stopped by our table to welcome us and ask for feedback. The chips and salsas tasted fresh and made in-house. The portion was generous. The guacamole also comes with chips, so we ended up with a LOT of chips after getting an order of those. I was also a big fan of the Ropa Vieja Tostones, and both the Banh Mi Srimp tacos and Vacation Frita tacos were delicious. There was a good amount of filling in all tacos and the flavors were well balanced. I would definitely come back if I'm in the neighborhood and in the mood for tacos!

Bob S.

Yelp
It's one thing to question a restaurant's cleanliness from a customer's perspective but who's better to judge than someone with knowledge on what to look for in cleanliness? I get it, the place is old and has been there for years but why the fuck is it so dusty? It looks like it's only mopped and swept once a month as for the walls? Dude, should be wiped down once a week! Dirty af idc how often you wear gloves or how long you use the same glove? If your walls are black and dusty, that's gonna get on the food. Roaches in the god damn basement, most of their food storage containers are dirty af. How are they open beats me but definitely shouldn't be. If you question why your food taste weird, well now you got a clue.
google avatar

Molly D.

Yelp
Worst Mexican food in Philly. Just go down a couple blocks to Taqueria Amor for a much better experience. Our whole table needed hot sauce to even taste anything. They got several of our orders wrong, including giving meat to vegetarians twice!!
google avatar

Imani W.

Yelp
In and out within 35 mins! My friend and I both ordered empanadas (chicken and beef). When we received them, they were as light as a feather. We asked to see the manager and broke the empanadas open to show the lack of meat. He refused to apologize. and stated that they are made like that and the chef uses 1oz of meat for all empanadas. I have never had an empty empanada before. They should be called "struggling empanadas". He only offered us 2 free shots instead. As if I want to drink on an empty stomach since there was no meat in the empanadas. The amount of meat on the fork was literally the amount of meat in the empanada the size of my palm We also ordered drinks prior to receiving the empanadas. We were told about their specials on Terramana tequila and my friend decided to order the drink special while I decided to get the watermelon mint margarita with Altos. The waitress asked if I wanted to make it a double and I agreed. When the drinks finally came my "double" was in a 32oz plastic cup (you know the ones you get from the Corner store when you get the $3 lemonades). I expressed my confusion to the waitress and she told me it was double the alcohol and double the ingredients. To me that was very misleading. As an alcohol connoisseur and former bartender a "double" is double the alcohol and a single amount of the other ingredients. When I asked the waitress to take it off the bill she told me she had to again ask the manager. He told me that is their recipe and the waitress didn't explain it correctly. This was the worst first time experience here. I saw the waitress mumble under her breathe about my dissatisfaction and it really pissed me off. Poor customer service all around from the waitress to the unaccountable and unapologetic manager lol. Then I paid the $31.54 bill in cash and handed them a $50 bill. They gave me $18 in ones and did not give me my $0.46 in coins nor did the waiter let me know she that she wasn't giving me change.

Yelp
Great new addition to Main St. that I hope will stay! 4:30-6:30 they have happy hour specials, including $5 margaritas/sangrias, and other drinks. Food happy hour includes discount on wings, $2 elote (corn), and other delicious goodies! Chips and salsa included, both of which were soooo fresh! I could just order some drinks and munch on their chips and salsa all day. The service is also great! Everyone was so nice, checked up on us more than usual servers would. Indoor, bar, and outdoor seating for your preference. Will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Gene C.

Yelp
Horrible! If you like eating mediocre food, and having your drink spilled on you (and not replaced), then you should definitely go here! Try Taqueria Amor instead. It's right down the road, has delicious food that's fairly priced, and the staff is attentive and professional.
google avatar

Yelp
Outside replacing it at its physical location, La Roca is in no way associated with Union Taco. I repeat, La Roca is not just Union Taco renamed. A few of us stopped by to give La Roca a bit of a test run a week or two ago. Things went well enough that I decided to give it a go for a double date this past weekend. As you can guess from the rating, La Roca delivered some fresh food and should be on its way to locking itself down as a Main Street Manayunk staple. Focusing on the double date, the four of us started with a pitcher of the traditional La Casa Rita. The pitcher was large enough to keep us set for our dinner and our waiter kept an eye on our table to ensure we didn't have to pour our own which was a nice bonus. From there, we grabbed the complimentary chips & salsa (both red and green) and ordered a large Traditional Guacamole (which came with more chips). While I prefer the green, both salsas are pretty awesome and the guac was solid as well. We had no chips left by the time out meals arrived. The large guac gave us plenty to share between the four of us, so smaller groups might consider just ordering the regular. For mains, we split with our respective dates. Nataly N and I shared the Ropa Vieja Tostones, Banh Mi Shrimp Tacos, and Vaca Frita Tacos. The tostones weren't too high on my list, but both sets of tacos were top notch. I was a little worried that 2 tacos wouldn't quite be filling. For the shrimp, each came with 3 reasonably sized shrimp and truly tasted like a Banh Mi. The steak was a nice size for the taco shell and melted in your mouth. I would recommend both. Service was more than spot on. I already mentioned our waiter kept an eye on the drinks. He also was quick with water refills, suggestions, and clearing plates. During our meal, one of the owners came out to talk to us a bit about the concept and to get our feedback on our meal - again bonus points for taking the time to get to know your customers. Two trips thus far have resulted in more than good meals. I'm looking for more, especially once the deck bar opens up (and Philly weather finally cooperates)!

Yelp
Went here with a few of my friends a couple of days ago. Service was good, food was good. However, at the end when I was paying my bill, it gave the option for 3%, 5%, and 10% gratuity. I thought that was low, so I hit custom tip and paid 20%. When I got the receipt, I noticed that 20% gratuity was already added. So I tipped 20% twice. It is on me for not catching that, but it was a party of 4. Small parties should not include mandatory gratuity. And if it must, at least tell the person paying that gratuity is already included. I felt scammed, and we'll certainly not be retuning only reason why I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 is because everything else was great except for the fact that I feel as if I got scammed. Edit: changed to 1 star
google avatar

Yahya Y.

Yelp
Would give it a 1 star but giving it 2 bc my waiter was nice! The food on the other hand was gross. I could see which parts of the meat was seasoned and which was left out. Im willing to bet that the seasoning is from a grocery story helper kit. The elote was $9 for a stale, cold ONE ear of corn...come on! That's crazy. Also big red flag for a Mexican place is when the chips and salsa aren't complimentary. Never coming back here again.
google avatar

Pranab W.

Yelp
Use to come here a couple years ago, and it's safe to say the service, quality of food, and overall experience has gone down the drain. Honestly feels like a big sit down Taco Bell, but Taco Bell would be the option to go with

Dana C.

Yelp
Do not waste your time going here! Went on a nice day for happy hour. We got there around 6:30 pm. Ordered a quesadilla, tacos and Brussel sprouts and chips and dip while we waited for the food. We didn't get the chips and dip until almost 7:20 pm. Then we waited until 8pm before leaving still hungry.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service on taco Tuesday. They have 0 staff members and need to do interviews immediately to hire more people. Their tables are also concaving in outside. The AC seemed to not be working and it felt like the sahara dessert inside. It took an hour for our drinks to come and we got our food way before our drinks came. The quesadillas were great but the tacos were dryer than my love life. Jaley is a great server though she deserves a raise.
google avatar

Brittany G.

Yelp
I went 2x in person and had good experiences. They have a great vibe. I ordered take out via ToastTab this evening and was given chicken instead of Carne asada in a burrito but was charged an extra $6.00 for it. Also, there was an automatic 18% gratuity charge which I did not find appropriate as we did not dine in. I thought it may be due to using the app but it was not. I did not even see it until after it was paid. 3.5 stars now
google avatar

Jibril M.

Yelp
First experience with restaurant and it was pretty horrible! it was freezing cold in there the tacos were great! But the biggest problem I had there were a few long hairs in my food I communicated with the waiteress who was very polite but i felt there should have been something done too my bill because of the hair
google avatar

Renée C.

Yelp
Went here some time ago for lunch. The fish tacos were super bland as I recall. My friend said her guacamole was bland too. The frozen margaritas were delicious--thought not enough to salvage the meal.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Really good Margs. However, they overcharged on the bill. My total was 84.00 and they automatically add gratuity of 20% but on the bill this came out to 21.37. Not sure how 20% of 84.00 is 21.37. They did this the time before too because I remember thinking the math didn't add up but I didn't take a picture of the receipt.

Mariah K.

Yelp
The food was not great at all. I have got the burrito and chimichanga, it didn't have any flavor whatsoever, the refried beans tasted like just cumin with nothing else added and the rice in my burrito and chimichanga wasn't cooked. The churros was soggy and not sweet at all. I wouldn't come here again, they charged me 20% tip without telling me before paying FOR A TAKEOUT order. Edit: Their burritos gave my girlfriend really bad stomach problems.
google avatar

Kam C.

Yelp
Marg was pretty tasty. Was bummed they brought out the wrong tacos but even though they were the wrong order they were super dry and the immediately fell apart. My friend enjoyed their burrito though!

Yelp
Overall, we had a great lunch. The prices were right and the menu had variety! I had the small nachos with chicken. I thought the portion size was perfect for the price, and they were tasty nachos. The chicken pieces were almost cold though, which didn't stop me from eating them all, but I would have preferred them warmer. My wife had the crunchwrap. Also tasty- but we were out off by the giant piece of what looked like fat from the carnitas. It was almost the size of half the crunch wrap. Still way better tasting than Taco Bells version though! The space is cool and I wish it hadn't been raining so we could sit outside. Very much a party atmosphere spot- the music was very loud, even at 1 PM. The drinks looked interesting, and next time I'm here, I'll be sure to try one! Definitely a great place to watch sports or drink with friends while eating some great Mexican food!

Yelp
So I came here on a Wednesday for a Good Vibes Only event and ended up meeting up with my sister and her friends. I've been to many place in the Yunk but never been to La Roca before. For the event, the margs were $5 and the wings were $5! Jackpot!!!!! For wings, they offered a dry rub and wet option, of course I went with the wet option and they were solid. The margaritas were.. well margaritas solid and strong. I'd definitely want to come back on another night and check out the shrimp tacos and the vibes here on another night. They looked bomb. If you come here be sure to ask for Sara she's an awesome waitress!
