I was heading home back to Southern Sonoma County and hadn't had lunch. I decided to stop at this place and get a quick bite. You can never really go wrong with Mexican food.
I thought it was kind of weird that the menu didn't have prices on it, but decided to order a vegetarian tostada which consisted of beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and some guacamole. When the cashier told me it was $16 for one tostada, I had to double check with him that I heard the price correctly. $16 for one bean tostada? Really?! I was shocked. But I was already there and starving so I just decided to pay.
I understand that restaurants are struggling and I try to support local businesses. But $16 for a bean tostada? I can get a chicken tostada at my favorite Mexican place where I live for $8 (which btw I also think is a bit pricey, but again I understood the times we live in). So if small bean tostada is $16, is that going to make a carne asada burrito 🌯somewhere around $35? That would seem logical.
The food was fine. Nothing amazing. And definitely not worth $16.
Again,.I find it a bit odd that there are no prices on their menu. Next time I'm at a place that doesn't have prices I'll make sure to ask so I won't be shocked.
But with prices like this, it's unaffordable for me to eat out.
