The 18 Best Restaurants In Palma De Mallorca - The Infatuation

"Is it worth waiting in line at La Rosa Vermutería just for a glass of house vermouth and a giant tortilla pintxo? We think so. But there’s a larger menu if you need more than just fortified wine. Drop by at lunchtime to split enormous platters of Mallorcan pork sausages, croquettes, and different daily specials. Sometimes, that’s things like pork cheeks bathed in—you guessed it—vermouth, and rice packed with smoked mushrooms and tetilla cheese." - isabella noble

"The best place for dinner is La Rosa Vermutería Colmado. Wait for your table while drinking stupid-cheap, very delicious wine. The place is what’s called a Vermutería, which means you should be drinking red or white vermouth on ice. When you do finally sit, prepare yourself for an onslaught of tapas."

Service and ambience: It gets very busy so make sure to book ahead. The service was great waitstaff were quite helpful with order recommendations. Food: Quality of the food was great: - Calamari was tender on the inside but not as crispy as I would’ve liked it to be. - Beef croquettes were crispy but lacked in flavor a bit - Octopus was amazing well chard some of the best I’ve ever had. - stake tartar was good and well balanced. - Oxtail with broken eggs was bit heavy but over all pleasant.

This place was recommended to us by our hotel. A lovely spot with a great atmosphere. Ordered a few tapas to share. We sat at the bar counter and chatted to the friendly staff. The food and drinks arrived very quickly. The only negative is one of our dishes was clearly forgotten. When we eventually asked the waiter said it was coming, however it arrived 50 minutes after our other food which was slightly disappointing. Otherwise I would have given it a perfect score as it is a lovely spot for a night in Palma.

Avoid this place! The food is OK but not better than the local tapas restaurant on the corner. It is better presented on the plate than most restaurants, but the taste gives no sensations at all. The service is very bad, even though the waiters have a nice, polite attitude. Waiters take a very long time and forget what we asked for several times. I'm surprised at how unprofessional the service is. Perhaps it's more of a management problem, looking at the resource side—but then it will be permanently bad. We had a wine called Mula Mucho at a low price. Even though it has a photo of a dog on the bottle, it was surprisingly great. (Note: usually I never buy wines with "over-commercial" labels/stickers.) The restaurant seems to have taken over the restaurant next to Vermuteria called Colmado, and this is where we had our table. They call it a "classic table," but with no backrest, it will hurt your back a lot. Apparently, they want to shove in as many people as possible, and chairs with backrests take up too much space. Looking at the total, based on the bad service and the medioker level of the food, we will never ever come here again. Our expectations where a lot higher.

Google
One of my favorite restaurants ever — and definitely the best restaurant in Palma. The food is simply amazing: always fresh and delicious. Most of the time, you have to wait in line to get seated, but it’s totally worth it. They have amazing vegan options. I recommend trying the artichokes, octopus, shrimp, white asparagus, and tomato salad

I can’t say enough good things about this place! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every single dish was bursting with flavor . seriously, some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I’m still thinking about it!

Google
A very popular spot in Palma. Be sure to reserve in advance, else you’re in a line out the front for a long period if it’s peak times. The range of vermouths is extensive and the staff are helpful in explaining and helping you choose. The food is tasty and generously portioned. A great, buzzy atmosphere across several levels.

This place was amazing! I loved the cool style, and the food was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. I highly recommend it the price-to-quality ratio is excellent. Our waitress was awesome, and overall we had a fantastic time.

La Rosa was busy this time of the year in April but we managed to get a table for 1:15hrs with the help of the kind hostess. We ordered quickly so as to maximize our time. The pedrón were out in no time. The croquettes were hot and delicious. The gambas were flavourful and worked well with the mother’s recipe of ibérico. The mussels took a while to arrive but the staff were attentive enough to inform us it was coming. And finally the torrija was divine. Worth the wait. Overall very good food and wonderful staff.

Yelp
White sangria - Very easy to drink. It's like sizzling sweet wine in fruit. Garlic pawns - Excellent! Fresh, the jamón was the best we had in Spain. Great intense flavor. Garlic was just right. Cuttlefish squid ink croquettes - Good crust. Squid ink is an acquire taste and different. But we also liked it. Grilled Lamb chop -it was the best lamb chop I've ever tasted. It's not just how they grilled it but the quality of the lamb and also they are baby lamb, not gamey and very tender. Even the fries, the baked/roasted garlic and the chili was amazing. Grilled octopus - The lamb chop was so good that even the grilled octopus was pretty outstanding, you don't really notice anymore. The sauce there made with olive was impressive. Very delicious. At first, I saw the almost 5 stars rating must be forgiving and generous tourist's rating but after coming here, now I know. This is the real deal.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants we have been to in all of Spain. Not pictured is the delicious octopus grilled to perfection. Great service and food. The Sangría is smooth and delicious. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great first meal in Mallorca! The tortilla is MASSIVE! I'd skip the pan and save room for other dishes. Their peppers and patatas were cooked to perfection. We were seated in a nice secluded upstairs area.

Yelp
Loved this spot and thought the food and drinks were excellent for the price. I had a couple of glasses of sangria which were excellent. Alongside it, I ordered bread and olives, a portion of tortilla, patatas bravas, and croquetas. I wasn't expecting much in terms of quantity but I couldn't finish everything!! The patatas bravas were a massive portion and the tortilla was so filling. The croquetas were absolutely delicious and were probably my favourite part of the meal. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious and the seating was comfortable. There is wifi available for use. I did find the service a bit unusual - I had to ask for a food menu for instance and then it took quite a while for someone to come over to take my order. Once I had ordered, the food came over very quickly and all at once, so the croquetas were getting cold as I was eating the patatas bravas. All in all I had a great experience here and would absolutely come back.

Yelp
Walked around shopping and came across this good restaurants . It was pretty packed but we was accommodated to the bar seating . The razor clams was so delicious along with the clams. Drinks was decent enough . The staffs was amazing and sang a birthday song with a delicious Mallorcan dessert cake . What a nice place with delicious food .

Yelp
This is by far the exact experience I've been searching for In Mallorca. Such an amazing crew from the waiter to the chef. Strongly suggest the leg of octopus, if I could have this dish everyday for the rest of my life I would. Everything is absolutely delicious. Got almost every tapas and was not disappointed. If I come back to Mallorca I have to come back! Luis was a joy have as a part of of it.

Yelp
Busy place, with an interesting mix of vibes that clashed a bit - retro diner, upscale cocktail bar, and tapas restaurant. Nice selection of drinks. Food was a bit overpriced, but tasty. We got the gambas al ajillo and a side of bread for dipping, along with glasses of the house vermut. Great spot to sit and people watch. Staff were professional and friendly enough.

Yelp
If you don't make a reso, expect an hour wait! This is clearly a happening place with patrons of all ages. Located near the city centre, La rosa is definitely on the top of my list in Mallorca. The space inside the resto is a bit tight. Our party of three got seated in a table for two but beggars can't be choosers specially after an hour wait at 9pm! La rosa offers a variety of tapas and my personal favourite, sautéed mix mushrooms. Their specialty seems to be canned fish tapas like anchovies as a whole page was dedicated to it but we stuck to land animals. Notable mention were the veal meatball with octopus. Perfect texture with a very tasty sauce to dip your bread in. I even saved it for some of the other dishes we ordered. The prices are fair, service was very efficiency given how busy they were but we never felt rushed.

Yelp
This is a staple in my weekend vermut rotation! Vermut, for the uninitiated, is a generally Spanish Sunday tradition. Think of it of a post church party, except nobody goes to church anymore and instead they drink effectively fortified white wine infused with various things that turn it into "red" vermouth or to the locals, vermut! The food here is delicious and generously sized, and the staff is incredible. I usually bring my pup with me (cattle dog, 40 lbs/18kg), and the room at the entrace is welcoming to dogs (they aren't allowed below/above in the other service areas). Every time I've been here there have been several other dogs in the small bar/entry area, all getting along just fine. Staples you should get: - Vermut with a gilda (the original pinxo, FYI, look it up) - Un racion de tortilla - Las croquettas de espinacas - Cheesecake Lots of other things are great: oysters, octopus, boquerones (white anchovy), etc. The best thing though? The service. Remedios is my favorite, she is always smiling with the most amazing matte coral lipstick (where does she find it!?) and has gone above and beyond to ensure we're welcome, even asking a couple to scoot over an inch or two to accomodate some extra seats and space for the pup! She did it with grace.

Yelp
Fantastic! Our favorite restaurant from 2018 so we returned on our first night back in 2019. Super friendly staff. Easy going and helpful with English speakers. The atmosphere is cheerful and festive. The food is delicious. Very popular.

Yelp
Came here from the U.S. and ordered a Manhattan.... such a great cocktail bar and fun environment. Didn't have any food but the place was packed when we got here. Would recommend to others!

Yelp
This place was my go to when I lived in Palma. Tapas buenas y vermut del grifo is great.. the staff is good and so is the service. It's always packed if you want a table scheduled maybe a week before (for a group) if it's two people you can chance it or go outside of normal Spanish dinner hours. Doubt you'll be disappointed by anything you'd order from here

Yelp
Fun, lively place with a great atmosphere. Great range of tapas and fantastic homemade vermouth. Plus, their hours are a bit more flexible than other restaurants nearby.

Jonny M.

Yelp
Location is great and looks promising. Unfortunately the staff was pretty slow / distracted / rude, our order was mixed up and the food quality was tasteless-terrible (except the oysters).

Yelp
Came here once while on vacation... great cocktails and it was crowded! Fun atmosphere and great service! Would recommend!

Yelp
Given that I had never been to Spain before, I had a limited point of reference for authentic tapas/Mallorcan cuisine, aside from trying the occasional homemade tortilla española or pan de tomate with friends from Sevilla when they visited the US. All of that said, this spot blew my mind! My partner and I ate here twice during our four-day stay in Palma. The first time, we started with the seasonal tomato salad, manchego en aceite de oliva and olivas rellenas de anchoa. These were among the best olives I tried during this trip. The tomato assortment was an ideal compliment to the manchego. Then, we ordered the hongos con huevo revuelto and patatas bravas. I know I kind of buried the lead here, but these were by far the best bravas we had over the course of our trip. They are perfectly fried--slightly crispy on the outside, but tender and buttery on the inside. They are topped with a mixture of the traditional creamy garlic aioli and paprika-based brava sauce--a really nice touch that helped balance the dish. The sauce was layered between the small potato segments, which helped evenly distribute the flavors. Long story short, if you go here, the bravas are a must (especially if you love potatoes). The second time we came, we ordered most of the same selection with the addition of the Spanish asparagus (if you're not used to it, it is white and a bit thicker--fear not--it's delicious), which was served with an orange-infused aioli, and the grilled octopus. Ours was tender, fresh and beautifully served with roasted potatoes and a parsley accompaniment. I am not usually a meat eater, but the few bites I tried made me want to start eating seafood again. Additionally, the service was impeccable. Ignore reviews from folks who said the service was subpar--the servers are attentive and kind. As is customary in Spain, you may have to flag them down for your check or if you need another glass of wine, but don't feel shy doing so. Just be kind when you because they're working their asses off in a busy restaurant.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant, very helpful wait staff with a ton of local knowledge on their food and beverages. It's a loud, somewhat cramped spot, but that only enlivens the atmosphere more. We went on a Sunday and it was full, but we got our dishes promptly. Great recommendations from the wait staff. Bright flavors with the octopus and the steak. Our tuna tartare was lovely. Prices were half of what we had paid the night before for a restaurant with a lovely view and awful food. Definitely recommend checking it out. Drink from their vermouth selections as an aperitif. It's amazing.

Charleen H.

Yelp
Great food . Ample portions and friendly staff. Don't let the wait time deter you as they do not take reservations.
