Diana puts one at ease immediately. She took care of me at La Rubia as if I have been there the past 20 years and ordered the same items on the menu over and over. I have only walked by twice, ordered a coffee but for some reason, once you see Diana smile, you feel instantly drawn into La Rubia as if she is really a New York siren herself. I have never tried their delicious Beet and Kale juice until today and it was very refreshing. Sardines and Mussels Avocado toast catapulted the place to the top of my list as go-to for refined, well executed tapas-like selection on a cozy, relaxed Saturday afternoon. Warm, friendly with a lot of conversational flair, Diana labored through all hour while I was seated, having at least 10 other orders to work through. The place was kept so beautiful and clean. Details in the plating and embossed silverware lend immense finesse to overall ambience and class. Soothing island music played steadily as if Cafe Del Mar found new ground in La Rubia to anchor and root its spiritually uplifting, progressive, new sound. Lucky me!
