Oh lord, do I hate putting a bad review, but these guys need to pull themselves together ASAP if their business is to last. I'm French and was very, very excited about this place, even spied it well before it opened.
We got the Blacker the Berry ones which sounded delicious. First surprise was being told to wait 20 mins when *there was no one else there*. I then got my mocha, which was lukewarm (details...), and then I noticed out of two burners, they used only one (I think he was uncomfortable using two at once), and to my horror I saw him use a pre-made crepe and warm it up. (No, just no.). Which is weird because he made one, but then used a premade one for the second one.
We finally got the crepe and first I have to say...don't put powdered sugar on a crepe that is sideways in a cone. Just don't. It's super messy.
Bit into it and there was the strong lemon zest flavor and then...nothing. The Marionberry is bland, and it's not helped by ricotta which doesn't have any flavor but has the quality of retaining heat, meaning you get scalded (I'm not kidding, I burned my finger) by the white and red mix. I kept powering through, hoping for it come together, but at that point I was just hoping my very expensive, very unrewarding snack would end soon.
My friend and I looked at each other and then I said "this isn't very good at all", and he finally fesses up and says "yeah, I was thinking that". We didn't get all the way through our crepes, which has never happened to me. Sooo bad.
I implore the owners to go eat some crepes elsewhere. Go try the stand next to the subway sandwich place by the convention center, for example. Taste what a crepe should taste like. See how someone does two at once. You can do better than this.
