Where to Eat in the Eastern Townships - Eater Montreal

"While its original location can be found in neighbouring Dunham, this fine-grocery store is a perfect stop to stock up on local products from the area. With a wide selection of curated goods, there’s something for everyone — whether it’s for a souvenir or to eat on the spot." - Daniel Bromberg

Absolutely delicious choux a la crème caramel, a special treat that is hard to come by elsewhere. Many niche products; the Rumeur has a very well curated selection of meats, cheeses, desserts and much more, well worth the visit.

It's rare to walk out of a shop as happy as this one left me. We bought sausages, lots of cheese, tiramisu and pastries and EVERY SINGLE ITEM was incredible. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend. A Sutton gem.

We visited a number of stores and bakeries in town and this is our favorite bakery and specialty foods store. Great selection of cheese, meats, and baked goods. If you’re in town for the weekend and looking for interesting lunch supplies and desserts, this is the place for you.

Yelp
This is a European style deli and bakery. They also sell take home ice cream and a small selection of take home frozen foods. We go here for the cheese. They have a lot of cheese from Quebec, France and the Netherlands. In fact they have a lot from all over Europe as well. You can ask for a sample before you buy the cheese. With the cost of some of these cheeses, that only makes sense. We picked up some Quebec cheese this trip but on past trips we bought Dutch cheese. The bakery side has good food as well. We have tried their breads and croissants and would definitely buy them again. There is a case full of pies, tartes, and cakes for sale and we are tempted to bring one home. They always have someone working who is fluent in English if your French is not good.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best bakeries, cheese and fine foods shop in the Eastern Townships. I was in Sutton today to take advantage of probably the first glorious spring day this year and drove out with no destination in mind and found myself here. The staff are friendly and offered service in both languages, just like the Eastern Townships I grew up in during the 1970s. It's nice to see some corners of the area have remained unchanged. A fantastic cheese counter, cured meats and cold cuts selection, a few fine pastries in the back and a bakery which not only offers amazing home-made breadstuff, there was an entire display of home made pies and tortieres (meat pies) as well. You can smell the freshness here. Come earlier in the day since the breads and rolls seem to sell out fast. If you're visiting the area, you can't go wrong stocking up on sandwiches and such here before heading out for a pic-nic or a day of hiking.

Yelp
Outstanding selection of cheeses from around the globe. Decent charcuterie, good boulangerie, and some tasty beverages in the cooler. Highly recommended stop, when passing through Sutton in the Eastern Townships.

Yelp
To call this gem a mere bakery would be an injustice. The bread and pastries do rule, however. Wonderful selection of cheese, local and European. Super knowledgeable and help staff. A great program for regular patrons: Pay $90.00 in advance and receive $100 in store credit!

Yelp
We were in Sutton last week and stopped by. Oh my so many delicious cheeses and breads. The owner couldn't be more knowledgable or nicer. If only we could persuade him to open a store in Connecticut! You won't be sorry you stopped by
