Bug in my pastry. This was only my second visit here. I really enjoyed the food the first time, but on this visit I found a bug in my pastry. I live over an hour away and because this finding left me uneasy I don’t think I’ll be making the drive again. Wish I would have noticed this sooner before leaving.

My family loves LaSicilia Bakery & Cafe! A friend told me about them, and we have been going since 2024. They have some of the most delicious and beautifully decorated desserts in Houston, and the service is great! When we make a trip to the store, we try to get a variety of desserts because we live outside the city and are always pleased with our selections. They will help you make the right selections if you are unsure of what to get. The pictures included are over the period of several visits.

This is the bakery in Houston! Hands down perfection in a beautiful shop. They prepared a beautiful dessert menu for our Christmas family dinner. It was spectacular in every way! Pastry, cookies, cannolis, & beautiful tarts out of this world. Every morsel was amazing. Not too sweet, truly their bakers are artist. They made our Christmas. I can’t thank them enough. They knew what I needed and came through. If there was a Michelin Star for bakeries, they would have it. Don’t take my word for, go in and see everything I’ve post is right & true. Also a plus…the entire staff were kind and helpful.

Just had the sweetest morning at La Sicilia Bakery & Cafe! The coffee was rich, the pastries were perfection, and the staff was absolutely amazing—so kind and welcoming. The whole place had such a cozy vibe. Definitely a new favorite—can’t wait to come back!

The food is amazing! I’m not a fan of sweet breads but this one that I ordered is delicious and great with coffee!

Visited La Sicilia for the first time today (never really eaten at a bakery) but the owner gave me a recommendation and did not disappoint at all. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly, and it was a very cute bakery. All the sweets at the counter looked like delicious pieces of art. If you want a good sandwich/calzone or something sweet.. this is the place to go! 10/10 would recommend 👌🏼

Came in here as I was wanting to try their deserts in hopes of liking it and placing a large order in a couple months for a wedding. As soon as my partner and I walked in with my service animal (they had a sign of no pets, only service animals allowed), two employees got very hostile by demanding I present a tag for my service animal which is in direct violation of the ADA. Both employees continued to be argumentative stating they had gotten a ticket and we would have to present this to them in order to stay. At no point did either employees ask any of the two questions they are allowed to ask pertaining service animals. Not only was this humiliating as there were other customers around but caused unnecessary distress.

Was picking up a delivery here yesterday and you walk in and it smells amazing. The employees were very nice and engaging, and the selection all looked so enticing. I got a croissant the size of my hand and the baker said she makes turkey sandwiches with them and so that's what I did. It was delicious! The buttery croissant warmed up was amazing! Can't wait to try more of their stuff!

the ham and cheese croissant i had was Quite literally the BEEEST thing ever MADE. the ambience is so cute, the worker was so so nice she's amazing Service was great and top notch!!!!

This bakery is magical, you all. It was the photos of the lobster tails that drew us in. But once we were there, we were amazed at the variety of pastries, cakes, and cookies that the business offers. I saw so many things that we wanted to try! We ended up trying around eight different items ranging from guava cream cheese croissants, and raisin candied orange braids to a seasonal pumpkin dessert and an Italian cookie that brought back sweet memories of my Sicilian grandma (vanilla or almond based cookie topped with white icing and large colorful sprinkles). I haven't seen that cookie since she passed away and it made me so happy to see it again. Theirs tasted so similar to hers. They offered several savory pastries with toppings like cheese, artichokes, olives, and more. If I lived in Houston, I would be here too often. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with our group. We had lots of questions and might have bottleneck the line with all the decision making. I cannot recommend this Italian bakery more!

I thought, "Hmm. I've never tried this place before." So I drove and I realized I 100% have been here before lol. It's pretty much down the street from Katz's Diner. This place has plenty of options when it comes to your bakery item fix. It's beautifully displayed as well with it's price, which I love that they display the price upfront. I got the almond and chocolate (not croissant, but croissant) and it was enormous. I like to eat and drive(sorry) and with this item, I could not just because of how massive it is. Flavor was pretty solid, I want to say it was not as sweet as I would have liked. It is a mix of almond and chocolate, I really felt like the chocolate was overpowering, I didn't really taste an almond flavor aside from the almonds that were on top. The chocolate flavor itself leaned more towards a cocoa rather than chocolate. Aside from that, the lady was nice and there were plenty of options. The store definitely had a homely vibe. I wanna try their other pastries next time!

Lovely and local Italian bakery with gorgeous baked goods! I came here since my intern's favorite dessert is cannolis so I wanted to surprise her with them. They did not disappoint! Everyone on my team absolutely loved them. They are hand filled and so delicious. They put pistachios on end and chocolate chips in the filling. Classic and great flavors! My coworkers said they don't usually like cannolis but this place converted them!

Heaven!!! Their focaccia is something we still dream of. It's a family owned and operated Italian bakery...what isn't to love? Their pistachio croissant is easily the best croissant in town. They are also super friendly and will explain the very authentic Italian dishes on the menu if you were a newbie like us! Love this place :)

They sell out fast so get here early. I came thirty minutes after opening and was able to snag the last almond croissant. I thought it was delicious but was a little dry. I wish my cappuccino would have been served in a mug rather than a paper cup especially because they display a higher standard in the quality of their food that should also reflect in their service.

Got two tarts to celebrate the long Thanksgiving holiday season- The Boston Cream Pie tart and the Pistachio tart. They were both amazing- fresh and yummy. Priced at $5 per piece, they seem quite worth the price for the standard the bakery maintains. A must try.

These pastries look and taste like the ultimate treat. We loved the candied orange braid and the traditional cornetto - although I think we would either do a filled cornetto next time, or bring the plain one home to dip in hot chocolate (they don't have hot chocolate here). The pistachio raspberry cookie was chock full of amaretto so we could only take a bit each, but it's really nice. It's a cute little shop inside. Lots of parking. We got there about 10 minutes after it opened and unfortunately we were not met with the warmest service. We were in good moods and being kind, smiling, but the lady who served us seemed to not care that we were there. She was a bit cold towards us. Despite this we will be back to try more pastries.

Amazing pastries!!! Everything I have ever tried has been amazing! The employees are super helpful and patient. Cute, small bakery off westheimer! Would definitely recommend! Love gifting their pastries too since they are so beautiful!

I went here twice and got an espresso and a pastry both times. The espresso was great (9/10), and the pastries were even better. They offer quite a variety of unique pastries that you wouldn't find at a typical bakery or cafe. I'm assuming most if not all are Italian pastries. Like one other review stated, they do have a limited quantity and sell out so your selection will be somewhat more limited later in the day. Service is fine, as it's a counter place. Nothing to complain about. The place itself is very small with only about 10 seats so I wouldn't count on spending extended time here. It's more of a grab and go place. Only downside to this place is the limited hours as they are not open for long and all of their open hours are during the work day except for Saturday and Sunday times assuming you don't work weekends.

Came here before work on Valentine's Day to pick up some pastries to take into the office. There were a couple of people in line in front of me but I didn't have to wait too long. When it was my turn, I asked the woman helping me to choose 6 of their most popular items. She happily made recommendations for me and everyone at the office really enjoyed them. The only item I purchased that people didn't absolutely love was the tiramisu. The best items I purchased were probably the Nutella and raspberry pinwheel and the Italian sausage focaccia. Will for sure be making a repeat trip but will likely be sticking to the pastry case next time!

I was in the area craving some baked deliciousness so I decided to stop in and give this place a try. I asked the staff member what he would recommend and he said their current special of a pastry filled with Boston cream and topped with dark chocolate and it definitely did not disappoint! The crust was buttery and flaky and perfect and the filling of dark chocolate was a nice touch with the Boston cream without being overly sweet. This was an $11 pastry. Not sure if I would have gotten it had I asked the price before hand but I'll consider it a nice little treat. They do have a chocolate almond croissant that I will definitely be back to try!

Desserts crush and the vibe is immaculate. Make sure you stop in during lunch and take advantage of the food.

Absolutely delicious and amazing! Best bakery I have ever been to where everything looks amazing and tastes delicious. You will walk in and want to order one of everything, which you totally should.

This is a fantastic bakery! We came here as we saw the head chef Diego on the Spring Baking Championship on the Food Network and we're so glad we stopped in for some treats. We came later in the morning on a weekend, so there wasn't much left, but what was left was still amazing. We grabbed some coffees and 3 pastries: an almond braided pastry, a chocolate glazed pistachio cartoccio and a cannoli cream-filled chocolate glazed pistachio cartoccio. These were absolutely amazing and we ate every last bit. We also grabbed some Italian cookies to go and these were a great treat to enjoy later in the day. This is a top notch bakery and we would 100% come here often if it was in our home city. If you're in Houston for any reason and love pastries, then make sure to come here!

Finally able to try this place. I was so mesmerized walking in because of all the displayed pastries! I was craving something with Nutella and was recommended one of their daily specials that was a pistachio covered pastry with Nutella filling. It was delicious. Also ordered a pistachio filled cannoli, almond croissant and a focaccia. The focaccia was topped with cheese and juicy cherry and grape tomatoes, it was pretty good. They are pretty friendly and service was fast. Will definitely come back to try more of their items!

Absolutely incredible pastries. Two of us had to get 5 different ones to try because they all look so amazing. Perfection! Huge portions and had to take the leftovers home but I was not complaining. Very nice staff and the owner was super friendly. Go go go now. Just don't blame me when you get hooked.

La Sicilia Italian Bakery and Cafe in Montrose, was a place I had high hopes for. It's undeniably a hidden gem with a beautiful pastry display that's almost too pretty to eat. The ambiance inside is cute and there's plenty of seating. However, the prices are quite high ($10 for some pastries) and the quality of some of the pastries didn't amaze me. While the variety of authentic Italian baked goods is impressive, the fresh fruit tarts, though good, didn't quite live up to my expectations. On the plus side, there's ample parking and the staff is efficient. It's worth a visit for the atmosphere, but be prepared for the premium pricing.

Great bakery items. Ask the front what they would recommend trying, there are limited specials. They close once they run out of baked goods. Everything is made fresh in the morning on the daily. Items are pricey but you pay for some seriously good carbs. Best to share. Coffee is great and there are no syrups just sugar in the raw or Splenda. The service was friendly and smooth. No bathrooms. There is seating for smaller parties. It's a cute bakery with plenty of options of crossiants, cakes and cookies.

This bakery is super cute with a variety of baked goods, pastries, and dessert. The staff also appear friendly. However, all the items are pretty expensive, especially the desserts.

Oh wow just rows of delicious baked goods. Easy parking and not much of a line early Sunday. We were so excited to try desserts! Staff helpful. The fruit special of the day was $10.50 but worth it given the juicy fruits. We also really liked the pear brioche which had such a nice light crème. The cookies are more like biscuits or biscotti in texture, probably goes well with coffee or tea. Highly recommended!

GUESS WHOOOOOO I went with a friend, as one should, and went one a pistachio rampage. Tis the season to have no regrets, but this wasn't a journey to take alone. Everything was so good and so fresh, no artificial pistachio taste at all. Nutella was a wonderful addition to the pasties and one can never going on with adding Biscoff to anything. Everything. Do it.

Treats were great but my family will never come back here again after the treatment we got. We asked for napkins and a warmed croissant and as we went to a table to eat. He comes and takes the stool and says we can't eat inside - when it wasn't even crowded. He literally told us to get out that dine in isn't allowed. Wtf? Never had service like that for a bread that would have taken us 5 mins to eat. Will never come here again if that's the Christmas spirit we get. Such BS. I can't believe he said we can't dine in during holidays cus it's busy and no one was in there and then took the chair we were about to sit on.

The lemon tarte was absolutely delicious. Eclair was perfectly shaped and chococaltieee smooth!! Definitely try to get here early because they sell out fast. Honestly wish I got my hands on the croissant.

Definitely one of my favorite bakeries here-- La Sicilia has delicious and beautiful sweets, smiley and warm service, and a cute and cozy dining area wrapped in one happy package on Westheimer with a big easy parking lot! They have your usual cafe croissant choices and Italian pastries like bombolone (filled donut), cannolis (filled when ordering), and Italian cookies. More dessert-like indulgences line opera cake, chocolate cake, fruit tarts, etc. await in the other refrigerated pastry case! New seasonal inspired twists always await me with every visit-- just had a Biscoff cream pastry yesterday, and it's so fun to try them :D The pastries are a bit on the pricier side but they're usually quite big and very delicious. They also serve savory sandwiches and various pastries like cheese focaccia, ham and cheese croissants, sausage calzones, etc. I usually go and order 4 or so items to share for brunch or someone will gift me a box of goodies, and I haven't been disappointed with anything yet! Seating space shrunk over the years to fit another pastry display (means more sweets!!). It consists of 3 tables for two and high top window seating for 3 people. Good luck finding a spot if you come during busier times ^_^" Definitely come earlier to pick from a beautiful generous spread of pastries. I once came around 3pm and there were about 2 pastries left! Excited to go again-- definitely check this little bakery out!! P.S. My photos are dated-- they no longer make my favorite ricotta pancake in town! T-T

so delicious!!! the pastries here look and taste amazing. stopped by here on a sunday morning and there were plenty of pastries to choose from. however, things do start to sell out so be sure to come early. the shop itself is pretty small, so it could feel crammed at times. the decor is awesome though and it is very vibey! service is very friendly and the lady who helped us was very nice with explaining the various pastries. food is a bit on the pricier side but it was delicious!

Had seen ads for this place on instagram, was excited to try it. Came by on a Wednesday around noon to pick up a pastry. There were so many pastries to choose from. Pastries were a bit on the pricier end, however pastries are large and paying for the higher quality so it's worth it. The server recommended a pistachio pastry which was $7. Loved the pistachio cream filling, could really taste the authentic pistachio flavor. 4 stars and not 5 because the bread itself was a bit dry and tough, may have been sitting out too long.

This is an Italian bakery which serves a wide assortment of pastries. Some of their prices seem a bit high compared to other bakeries, however everything here is very fresh. The cafe is also clean and well-lit. The staff are all friendly and there is easy parking. The pain au chocolat was quite good. The amount of chocolate they used was perfect. I also ordered the Nutella raspberry pinwheel which was okay. I thought there was a little too much Nutella, but that is personal preference. The pastries were also a little difficult to cut into with the plastic utensils. The seating area is limited, so you might want to come early if you want to sit down and don't want to wait in line.

Always a problem getting something. They act like they're doing you a favor sometimes. I called to get an item and they wouldn't even put it aside for me. I literally was one of their first customers when they opened their doors. So disappointing now. They also need to put a decent recording on their phone when they go out of town. My friends drove in from The Woodlands only to find they were on some type of vacation. Way too many places, comparable or better now in Houston.

We ordered several different favors of the braided pastry as well as a cannoli and everything was fresh and delicious! Perfect balance of sweet in the pastries. Service from Antonio was excellent, very friendly. Small store front that packs big flavors.

Seeing similar reviews about the rude service and here to add another. I drove in from west of town to visit and was really looking forward to getting some authentic Sicilian pastries, but won't look to make the trip again or recommend it given rude service and mediocre pastry.

Meh. I feel food & service is hit or miss. Go early if you want fresh items and plenty to choose from. On this last visit, we arrived 30 min before closing and we felt like we were in the way of their closing tasks. Other patrons were still coming in and you could tell they felt the same vibe. Disappointing.

Just the best selection of pastries in houston! So many combinations you wouldn't think of but that work so well. Great variety of shapes and sizes and flavors. Be sure to get there early because they operate until sell out, but it's so worth it. Be sure to try a variety and order something new. Highly recommend! Also serve coffee and sandwhiches

I came two days in a row and they were closed both times. They are not respectful of the store hours that they list, nor do they have signs up saying that they are closed, so potential customers just are supposed to show up and hope for the best.

Came here waited 10 minutes and wanted ham and cheese croissants and they said they was out. Booooooooo

Amazing fresh breakfast goodies. Love the cannoli cream filled everything. The croissants and warm and fresh. It's not a place for a sit down breakfast they do have 2 tables more of a Togo place. Even the savory breakfast item my wife got was amazing

Soooo so good! I got the Nutella donut (which I believe is called something else) and it was absolutely delicious!

Stopped in briefly on a Saturday afternoon for an almond croissant and a cannoli. Both were delicious! The almond croissant was amazing, it was HUGE and the frangipane filling was so good. The staff was so sweet and the store very nice. Definitely will return!

You know, I really didn't care for the attitude of this one gentleman who worked there. I asked for recommendations multiple times/in multiple different ways since I'd never been there, but he continued to insist that he couldn't provide a recommendation saying everything was good, he didn't know what I wanted, etc. I'm not saying these are necessarily bad arguments to make, but the tone was annoyed and condescending as if he for some reason was upset that I was asking for a recommendation instead of just picking something. It tainted the whole experience and I felt uncomfortable. I'm not even sure what it is that I ended up picking in the end as I felt rushed and judged the entire time. Parking is sort of limited since it's a strip mall but I don't think it should be too hard to find a spot if you wait a bit since no one's going to stay there long (there's no seating). The inside is nice, bright and modern. The walls are aesthetically painted, the lighting is that famous Ikea Nymo lamp shade (one of them is swinging precariously due to the a/c). There are multiple display cases full of pastries (most of them rather large, maybe 5-6" in diameter each). These are roped off so you can't get too close which I suppose is a measure taken due to COVID-19. There's nowhere to sit. You just pick and pay at a counter. You're again very far removed from the actual counter which is roped off to force social distancing so it's quite safe. The pie/cake whatever it is that I got which I don't know the name of due to aforementioned reasons was very interesting. It's got a pie crust with a sweet glaze on top and crumbles of pistachios on the edges. The inside is a creamy cheesecake type of filling and it's lined on the bottom with a chocolate mixture. I think the chocolate rather ruins the whole thing since it clashes with the cream cheese filling. But all in all I didn't have much complaint about the food itself. It was reasonably priced at about $7 for a rather large pastry. I just felt rather unwelcomed which doesn't really make me want to come back.

As an Italian American with a background in working at an Italian bakery, I had high expectations for La Sicilia Italian Bakery & Café in Houston, Texas. Unfortunately, my experience was somewhat underwhelming. The small shop with limited seating meant I couldn't enjoy my pastries on-site, so I ordered to go. Upon entering, I was greeted with a beautiful display of pastries, and it was evident that they put effort into their presentation. I ordered a cannoli, a Sfogliatella riccia, and a creme brulee donut to go. The cannoli was a winner, with a freshly filled shell that did not disappoint. However, I was let down when it came to the sfogliatella riccia. Despite anticipating its sweet citrusy flavor and crunchy texture, it fell flat, lacking any distinct taste or citrus notes. Moving on to the creme brulee donut, the crispy sugar crust provided a satisfying crunch, but the rest of the donut failed to impress with its lack of flavor. It felt rather bland and uninspired. I will admit the bakery offers various pastries; perhaps my choices could have been better representations of their offerings. I will give them another chance and try something different next time. However, based on my initial visit, La Sicilia Italian Bakery & Café only received a mediocre rating from me.

If your business hours state you are open on Saturday from 8-3, then you shouldn't be closed at 1:29 pm on Saturday. Disappointed. It's disrespectful to customers

This is my favorite bakery within the loop! It's such an amazing bakery that things go fast so try to get there in the morning instead of close to closing. They have better offerings on the weekend which are always shown on their Instagram! This is one of the most innovative bakeries in Houston but unfortunately it also means that the menu constantly changes so you won't always be guaranteed your favorite pastry. I'm still sad I missed the lycee rose briochella, tropical loaf, and truffle chocolate fudge ganache tart. Pastries: 5 I've tried multiple desserts from them and they always hit the mark! Cannoli:5 I've never had an authentic one but this is my favorite cannoli in Houston! I love that they have a variety of flavors such as Tiramisu and pumpkin spice! The cream has just the right amount of sweetness and the pastry has a nice crisp Veneziane: 5 This is my favorite pastry from them! At first it seems underwhelming and nothing special but my brother and I both fell in love with it! It was like an upscale Asian cream bun. What made it was the cream filling which had more dimensions then a regular Asian cream bun and was a bit heavier. The owner was not joking when he said that the custard was amazing! Fruit tarts: 5 I love that the pastries are always packed with fruit! The ones I had always had a nice balance of tartness and sweetness that makes you keep eating! Ricotta Cookies: 4 While they're still good they're not as amazing as their other baked goods. The insides are moist and it would pair well with a nice cup of coffee or tea. The frosting on top is a bit too sweet for me but it is why I think it would pair well with dark coffee Service: 5 I'm always met with a smile and endless patience when I come here! I always have trouble figuring out what I want but the owner always talks me through the choices to help me decide! I also normally add extra items at the end because of FOMO but he never gets annoyed. If the item you're looking for isn't there he is good at advising you on another dessert that you'd enjoy because it's similar. The bakery, who I think is the owner's mom, is also really sweet. During one of my visits I made a comment that I was allergic to nuts after picking out all my items. In a motherly tone she said I should always state that at the start because I could never be to sure and that they wouldn't want something bad to happen to me. Extra thoughts: Unfortunately they no longer serve breakfast. Which makes me super sad because I never got to try their ricotta pancakes. They also close at 2pm on Sunday instead of 3pm. I've gone two separate times around 2pm since I was in the area but was met with heart break because they were already closed. Since COVID I noticed they've run out of things earlier then pre-COVID.

As much as I love the pastries here, I just wish some things were different. It kinda pains me to give this place less than 4 stars, however I've been disappointed a few times. Yet I still leave the place with at least something. I absolutely love the pastries here. Every thing here is literally made fresh. And while I do appreciate them taking big precautions about COVID, it kinda sucks when you really want pastries from them and you're waiting only to be disappointed. Pros: - super, I mean super, FRESH pastries - they have a good (and bad) system for COVID precautionary measures. Only 2 people in at a time. An extra barrier in front of the cases. - huge portion Cons: - every time I've visited, I'm disappointed with the savory items. Since they do make fresh items every day, I'm left with just the remaining items if I don't show up when they open - 2 people at a time. - the extra layer of barrier makes it a little difficult to even see what you really want. Ugh you have to hover over the barrier and hunch just to see what items you want - 2 people working. 1 person helping you with your order and a lady who is always at the register. Not sure why she doesn't seem to help the second person in the bakery to speed up the service? I literally watched her stand there and not help me. Or anyone else while lurking through the window. So people are standing in line waiting wondering when the process will be done. You're spending time trying to see what you want. It doesn't seem efficient. - you can get there early, but you'd still be waiting They don't honor the yelp check in offer I do love the pastries. And I will spend my hard earned money on this bakery. Just not as often as I would like.

I was floored by how pretty all their pastries look. It smells amazing inside and the two pastries I tried were delicious. The bread with mortadella, provolone, add fig jam was amazing (and huge so definitely a good thing to split)
