Restaurant La Soupière

Nice restaurant with excellent food. FYI it's not fully French, there are a few Swiss dishes. The service is not up to the standing of the restaurant. The waiter was very nice but the pace was off. My starter was brought as I was still drinking my aperitif. Not great. After that it was better, but this was a big faux-pas in my view. The waiter didn't know the wines and how to conjugate them with the food.

Elegant fine dining restaurant inside the hotel Schweizerhof (open to outside guests), right across the street from the Zurich main train station. At lunchtime, they offer a set "business menu". Excellent food quality and service. Don't miss the spectacular dessert trolley! As all dishes are freshly prepared, they'll also accommodate special dietary needs and substitutions (if you ask nicely ;).

Very good place with an awesome service, my girlfriend did plan my birthday there and it was awesome. I really liked the place, the service was on point, the food was good so actually I was about to give 4 stars but it’s actually deserving a 5 stars for the entire experience. I’m recommending that place and I would surely go back there one of those future days.

The service and the food were a joke. This was not fine dining and the food was not French. It wasn’t even okay cafe food. I was looking for the hidden cameras. Two in our party of four ordered sea bass and we got turbot, which two servers proceeded to hack apart while trying to fillet. We decided not to get them to recook the correct fish, which was a mistake. The fish (all four ounces of it) was overcooked and mealy. It was served with broccolini and mushrooms which were fine but just steamed - no sauce no finesse. We were offered a dollop of very thick hollandaise sauce that was dubious at best. The other two in our group ordered Wiener Schnitzle. It was passable but no sauce just a spoonful of cranberry relish. The service was rushed and unprofessional, and not fitting for what is billed as a fine dining restaurant. With no starter, a bottle of moderate Riesling, and a cheeseboard shared between two people the meal for two of us was $342 CAD. It was the lowest value meal I have ever had in my entire life. Dreadful restaurant - beware!

Excellent restaurant!

Our experience at La Soupière was mixed. We were welcomed into the restaurant and seated at our table in a very pleasant manner. The first surprise was that we were offered a more restrictive menu given that it was Valentine's day - this was hard to have known before, given that the restaurant's website was down. During our meal things went mostly well, with a few notable exceptions: - the waiter mixed up the main courses between me and my partner - we were given white chocolate mousse, when we asked for a different desert (regular chocolate mousse) - we asked a clarifying question about our desert to one of the waiters that did not speak English (who acted as if he did understand what we were saying). Unfortunately he just said "yes" to our question and then brought us two more desserts which we did not want. In the end, our main waiter apologised for the confusion, but by that time we were already feeling like we could've spent what was supposed to be a special night elsewhere.

Decent place, but does not deserve 4.5 ⭐️ Delicious expensive food, bad service. Only the name is french. The food was good, the duck was perfectly cooked 👌🏼. Compliments to the Chef!! Too expensive for what it was, though. The service, however, is quite bad and unfortunately doesn't match the quality of the food. The staff doesn't speak english very well, we waited for so long after the meal and were never offered dessert, and eventually decided to leave frustrated. I think it's a good place to eat only if you actually stay in the hotel.

Excellent dining experience. Exquisite French food with a Swiss taste. I ordered from their business lunch menu and it was a great experience. Service was good. Appetizer, entree and dessert are super delicious. What a mouth watering experience. I like their indoor decor and variety of sweets from their dessert cart. They also have a full restaurant menu that you can order from. Can't wait to diner here again!

Wonderful food connected to our hotel. The fish was amazing and the service was excellent!

We ate dinner here 5/28/2022. It is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Schweizerhof. The cuisine is French with a Swiss twist and has a very good selection of local dishes. The service was impeccable and multilingual. It is white cloth and luxurious so prepare to pay! The food is excellent and generously apportioned. There was a good choice of French, Swiss, German, and Italian wines to choose from. The grilled River perch (pike) and the lamb chops were our selections and these were served risotto and fresh vegetables. Desert was a chocolate cake with fruit. Outrageously good! If you are going to splurge on dinner only once, you will not be disappointed.
