"The setting is strikingly contemporary, with black walls and carpeting and atmospheric lighting. The food is equally up-to-date, thanks to the commitment of chef Pierre Weller, who slips in the odd tribute to Japan’s culinary culture, while excelling in the art of precise plating, demonstrated by his arctic char makis with green asparagus, orange foam and pistou. The Source also proposes guestrooms for overnight stays, together with a luxurious spa to pamper your senses." - Michelin Inspector

Don’t trust what you see from the road! The hotel is hidden behind the ancient building and is looking very modern and new. The style might not please everybody though as everything is extremely dark and concrete but at least it looks pretty good. The room was very large and was well equipped. A special note for the ( extremely rare in France) real king size, super comfortable bed.|Breakfast not bad but not exceptional. As for the spa, it is surprisingly large and offers everything you may wish for a pleasant day. The textile free zone is however a joke as most people ignored the rules and nobody cares to enforce them… we might be close to Germany geographically but not that much in mentalities! Good wifi, free parking. Expensive.

We booked a Standard Room, and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. There are no accurate photos of the Standard Room or the building where it’s situated on the hotel’s website or elsewhere - what you see online is heavily edited and misrepresent the reality. The room resembled a basic Holiday Inn in a rural area: • The shower was next to the bed, with no separate bathroom space. • The bed was small and too short - uncomfortable even for someone who is 175 cm tall. • Amenities were minimal: a small sink, a wall-mounted hairdryer, and hard soap bars labeled as shampoo and conditioner. • This was all priced at €285 per night, which felt outrageous for what was provided. Notably, the Standard Room option isn’t even listed on booking.com, which we suspect is intentional. When we addressed our concerns with hotel management, we were told no upgrades were available - yet we saw upgraded rooms listed as available online. This dishonesty added to our frustration. Overall, we felt misled and extremely disappointed. Had we known what the Standard Room actually looked like, we wouldn’t have agreed to stay - even for free.

La Source des Sens is, in my experience, completely misrepresented. The standard room is nowhere near boutique or modern. Think 1990s, Ibis Budget, with tired decor, old carpets, and a cramped, open-plan bathroom awkwardly built into the hallway. The main building is also far from the sleek, modern look shown in the photos. It’s dark, dated, and in dire need of renovation. At €285 per night for a standard room, it’s frankly outrageous. This is a €100-per-night type of place. I can only suspect fake positive reviews are used to bury genuine 1- and 2-star feedback (filter by rating to see for yourself). I can’t comment on the higher-tier room types but based on my stay, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This place has all the hallmarks of a tourist trap.

We were cycling across Europe and stopped here as our luxury treat. The people at the hotel could not have been more kind and professional. It was the very best hospitality who went above and beyond for us. The spa was impressive and the food was very very good - both breakfast and the evening meal.

The nature rooms in this hotel are truly beautiful. It feels like a different world when you look out of the huge window. The hotel also offers a wonderful spa area with saunas and a pool. Then there is the restaurant which offers extraordinary food. In my opinion it deserves a star. All in all a great hotel and magnificent restaurant. The only downside was the gym. It is small and when I visited the air conditioner didn’t work.

we had a lovely 3 day stay here - the spa is spacious and lovely (we didn't do any treatments, just enjoyed the pools and the hot rooms) the restaurant is outstanding - we had the surprise menu and all of it was absolutely divine (and we do eat in Michelin star restaurants quite often). Breakfast was also outstanding the staff were almost all friendly and helpful we would definitely come again

Amazing spa and restaurant, with good service. We went there for a formuła spa + lunch, enjoying three hours of spa in the morning, that was much enjoyable: swimming pools indoor and outdoor, jacuzzi, saunas, hammams, ... And other relaxing areas that we very much enjoyed. There was less people around noon then early in the morning. Then for lunch at their restaurant, we had a one glass of wine, one water, one coffee, one appetizer, one main dish, one dessert included. Everything was amazing, especially the dessert even though I generally don't eat them. We ordered a bottle of champagne rosé, got delivered a bottle of standard champagne by mistake, finally got a half bottle of the champagne we chose - it wasn't so good, too old wine. We then switched to a Chardonnay that we all appreciated.

My husband and I spent the weekend here for my birthday in March. We had high expectations after reading the other reviews but were let down by the spa experience, which was a big reason why we decided to visit. The hotel rooms provide nice accommodation and amenities. The hotel staff were not exactly warm and friendly but they were cordial, helpful and polite. The 6-course tasting menu in the on-site restaurant was wonderful - very inventive and excellent value for money. However, the spa really lets this place down. The spa was way too busy. The heater to the outdoor pool was not working so the pool was cold and uninviting, the relaxation room had beds that were too close together that privacy or indeed relaxation was not possible as you were essentially laying next to the couple next to you. And the indoor pool was both busy and noisy - reminding us more of a public pool than a spa pool. The problem is that this hotel does not prioritize their hotel guests. They invite the general public to enjoy the spa as well. This is absolutely fine but they should at least give their hotel guests the chance to book treatments or book the famed "LA PARENTHESE" in advance, first. We booked our hotel room and were never encouraged to book treatments or the 7 senses spa experience in advance if we wanted to avoid disappointment. When we arrived, they told us that everything had been booked for up to two months in advance! It was so disappointing. I wrote to the hotel directly to share my experience but they never wrote back. I don't tend to write negative reviews online but had to share this feedback for my fellow spa-lovers out there. Sadly, in our opinion, it does not warrant its current rating and we won't be going back or recommending this hotel to others. If you are looking for a fantastic spa experience in this area, go to Le Parc Hotel and Yonaguni Spa in Obernai. It's amazing! The spa is out of this world and the hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. For a nearby foodie experience, go to Thierry Schwartz in Obernai. Their cooking is inventive and the presentation is beautiful.
